Had Afternoon Tea at Airlie House recently for a friend's 50th birthday (private event). This place is amazing. Could not fault it. Kathleen, our host for the day, was so warm and welcoming and could not do enough for us. The food was all homemade and tasted lovely. There was so much we could not eat it all. The dining room in which we ate was so tastefully decorated for the occasion. Before we ate we were given a tour of the house with a resume of its history. I will definitely be visiting again.

Airlie house is a fantastic place for lunch or just a cuppa and cake. Although the service may seem slower than some other coffee shops it is so worth the wait, the staff are lovely and attentive. It’s quirky and the food is fantastic, home made soup, quiche and especially the cakes. Give yourself time to relax and enjoy the experience. Would totally recommend booking though, it’s just a wee gem.

If you haven't been there then you haven't had the Airlie experience. The service is second to none, stepping into the house you leave reality behind and step into a world of wonder The Christmas tree stays up all year and is decorated according to the season. Now the cakes. Melt in your mouth chocolate cake Victoria sponge that Queen Victoria would have approved of and the salted caramel!! Calories dont count. Now what about the traybakes..again how do you describe perfection. Finally the fudge..well I've run out of words to explain how good it is. As I said if you haven't been before all I can say is Why Not.

I had the Quiche cuppa & cake which was excellent. Very good value for £9.95. Everything was homemade & so fresh. The best quiche I have tasted. The girls were very friendly. Service was a bit slow but we weren't in a hurry so it didn't bother us. The place us very quirky. Advisable to book in advance as it's very busy. The only thing I didn't like was the seating arrangements. The tables were coffe tables but at our table there were 2 dining room chairs & a low leather chair. The chairs were very uncomfortable & was sitting high up from the low table which wasn't the best trying to eat my meal. I would like to visit again but only if I could have a seat in the dining room at a proper table

Visited Airlie House, a hidden gen, in Brechin for coffee and cakes before going on to another venue. Helpful staff and nice homely surroundings. Cakes were excellent.
