Reheated chips literally an hour after opening and barely edible

Great place to camp Showers and toilets kept very clean Surrounding facilities all good 5 min walk to the beach

They literally got our order wrong, And got 1 items for free. We ordered 2 fishes and fish supper it was our second time coming here, The Tables were all dirty, Looked for a bathroom and i don’t think there was one but there is a dryer in the middle of the restaurant?? Then when we found out we only got fish and not fish AND chips we had to buy an additional pair of chips, We said Large and they were Regular.. Then they started arguing about if our order is correct or not, did that for our friends as-well Overall all tho the food was alright but £9 for 1 FISH is just pathetic.

Went here today for a late lunch. Food was very nice , good to have a sit in option. Only problem portions are massive but it's a good thing if your a big eater. Staff were lovely and very friendly. Would definitely come back again I enjoyed my meal and service. Would come back again

We placed our order. It took almost a hour for food to arrive and then it was incorrect and missing items. That was fine we were ok to wait as we didn’t think it would be too long. When the food was ready we were told we hadn’t paid for the 2 items but when we added up the items we had paid more money than the menu suggested. We tried to talk to the lady at the till but she kept saying she had it right and she’d show us based off the scribbled order on a piece of paper that another employee who had left had taken and she wouldn’t listen to reason at all. We went round in circles for a good ten minutes before she finally added it up with us based on the menu and not only were there things on the order we hadn’t received but there were also items that we hadn’t even ordered and we had overpaid. She refunded us the difference and then insisted that we had to pay for the items that we had now been waiting an hour and half for. The difference was £3… She said no manager or superior was on site and she couldn’t ’hand out free money’. We didn’t want any money we just wanted the items that we had originally ordered and that we had paid for. No one in the shop took responsibility for the multitude of mistakes and in the end 2 of us went without food. Shocking customer service.

Great place for a filling supper & no frills dining.

Good economical place to stay. Comfy bed, good facilities in the cabin. Our cabin was clean and very comfortable. As overseas visitors, we would have appreciated bath towels. Would have been happy to provide a refundable deposit for them. We didn't buffoon here, brought our own as self catering.

Ordered 2 large battered haddock suppers Pickled eggs and iron bru The fish was huge and really fresh and delicious The chips were also really tasty Piping hot and freshly made Definitely go back soon Reasonable price too

Zero customer service skills and bland food.

Shocking food quality, over cooked no taste and whatever you do, do not order a donner kebab. I ended up having cook my own food 😡

Waited for 17mins from order to service and only 1 other person in shop , very slow. Food was very tasty though.

Just not a good standard Fish tasted weird and the batter was under cooked. Everything far too oily and the chips all seemed to be little scrap chips. .

1st time ordering from here? Chips looked like they had been reheated several times but we're cold?! Haddock really Greasy!! I wouldn't recommend unless you are Starving, There are at least 2 other chip shops that are Much Better but Sadly don't Deliver😰

There are better fish and chips in Montrose but none as convenient. Outrageously expensive fish supper but that is a reflection of fish prices in general.

Yuck! Over priced and food was disgusting chips where not cooked correctly. Gravy was thin and watery. Ate with 4 other people who stated the same, disgusting, experience,cold in middle of chips poor food hygiene no gloves when applying cheese.

Take out order, late in the evening, huge portions, cooked to perfection lovely staff, very reasonable prices

Firat time tryin here when i arrived in montrose and must say the food was pretty good donnor meat ofcourse and the portion size was fab lassie that was serving and owner were really polite made u feel welcome wil be back

The best chip shop in Montrose by far.

Stopped off to get 2 fish suppers from here and this is the 2nd time in 2 months that the fish has been dreadful. Slime coating on fish and the smell even the cat would not eat the fish. This is a shame really in the past we have bought lovely fish suppers from you. I know for all of us times are difficult financially including for high street food businesses. Contact form on site was no use. Phoning not an option for me. Hopefully you take this on board and next time we visit I will look forward to eating a better quality fresh fish supper.

Ordered from here last night after previously beeing disappointed to give it another try. Unfortunately halloumi fries were in soggy batter. Chips were soggy. Ordered battered fish, got breaded that wasvery dry & tasteless. Unfortunately will be going elsewhere in future.

The food was ready quickly and was also very tasty

Had 2 meals from here tonight and wasn't good at all..king rib was tastless and the batter was so oily and the chips weren't good either..the pizza crunch wasn't the best either..the girls working had no hair nets on either..

No toilet as out of order disabled with medical condition who needs toilet facilities

Normally I love this place but recently subbing Cheddar for Mozzarella sticks without me agreeing isn't right. Tonight my order was late which I can deal with but it was also wrong and if I had certain allergies I could have ended up very ill, luckily it was just a dislike. Over half an hour to rectify the problem and the man had no idea what I was talking about. A refund better be through my door as I wouldn't be using again

A diamond in the rough we have here. Went for the homemade mozzarella sticks full of cheese and no complaints. Fish supper best I’ve had in a while thick fillet of fish light batter and lovely chips. Would thoroughly recommend a visit and I will certainly visit again when on my travels.

Omg!!! 👌 Best munchie box ever.. Real chicken in nuggets and proper onion rings.. Lovely chunky pakora, chilli sauce was amazing and loads of donor and chips were amazing too. Will defo order again.. Plus food arrived quickly and was hot..

Had a sit in with grandchildren, 4 adults and 2 4 year olds. Polite staff, generous portions, reasonable prices. Pizza, fish, chicken and omelette.

2 Haddock suppers. And to Slushies. Was given 2 pickled onions instead of eggs, gave me eggs and let me keep onions too. Fish was premium, absolutely perfect, even served with slice of lemon. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Visited here on a few occasions while working in Montrose and was always disappointed the only food I found to be of any good taste was the fish and chips Staff were always nice and polite

Bad boy fish and chips halal anybody that comes on delivery's from Yorkshire try it although the fish was thinner than mother hubbards in Yorkshire it was tasty

Worst fish & chips I have ever tasted a whole £27 order went in the bin I really should have trusted my senses as the place stunk of the cheapest oil ever & I could taste it on the chips aswell & it tasted like dirty oil too also asked for haddock fish bites & was given cod & wasn't going back for replacement either 🤮

I liked it ,was good to see they have a vegan range I got a vegan sausage supper and the portion of chips was huge and tasty too..my friend got a quartet pounder cheeseburger and and chips and that was a hefty size. I also got pineapple fritter and toffee sauce but unfortunately it was too greasy. Saturated in grease 😈

Not a local. Enjoying a few days in AMAZING Montrose. Thought we would would like kebab an had a walk to the high street. Came across Adam's fish shack. We ordered 2 tonne kebabs an some chips. .the meat was like card board .paid for chip never got them. Our hotel was only a few mins from the shack. I would NOT recommend this outlet. They should be ashamed.

Nice big piece of Haddock which was very crisp and fresh. Chips were also excellent. Nice Friendly Staff.

Do not go near this place just got 2 large kebabs that I can honestly say we're the worst kebabs I have ever had in my life, the meat was cold, the bread was yesterday's, and when I got home the portion of chips which I had paid for was not in the bag. Only good thing was the hot sauce. Be warned.

Always a fantastic fish supper. Never fails to please.

Not many options available in town midday which makes this chippie shop the inevitable place to go to for someone looking for fish and chips. However I would not recommend if u can skip. The fish and fries feels like dalda which leaves you with a layer of fat in your mouth. Gravy is watery, mushie peas amongst the worst I have had, and the chips is huge and chunky. Will avoid.

Always enjoyed our meals from here but last twice were truly awful.last time it was cold when it arrived and this time it arrived chips half cooked and hard, battered fish was soggy and xtremely greasy. I did call and they replaced the fish and chips but yet again the fish was soggy and floating in grease, disappointed to say the least

Chips freshly cooked but a bit soft

Nope,... I will never eat from here again. Only because the chips had chemical taste and tasted so wrong. My son loves chips but hated them so did my wife so we left them. On the way out we noticed that others had left all there chips as well.

Food was cooked well and hot large portions couldn't eat all will go back again and recommend to others.

Great food delivery can be a little slow when busy but food is worth the wait.

Called in for a fish supper and it didn’t disappoint. All freshly cooked and very hot. Girl on the counter was nice and friendly. Would make it my local chippy but live near Edinburgh. Give it a try.

I think this takeaway was one of the best chippers I’ve ever tried in North East yet! Perfectly cooked fresh fish with a perfect golden crust - just a pure perfection! It’s one of the cheapest chip shops as well ( about 30% cheaper than anything you can get in Aberdeen city or near it) but definitely the best!

Chips were OK red pudding and macaroni pie were not good

Establishment not busy and order placed by phone for collect. Fish was hot and flakey which is good but batter was soggy and 'greasy' suggesting to me it was not fully cooked. Chips were also undercooked on all 5 portions. Very poor quality.

I recently had a really lovely fish and chips here. I remember it from way back as The Mermaid. As Adams Fish Shack its as good.. The fish and chips were fresh and there was plenty of them. Because of covid food was being served in its takeaway containers which you could take to a table. Where these days can you sit in with excellent fish and chips and a drink for £7.99? The staff were very nice too. Highly recommended!

Good food but i will not be back, 40 mins to wait on my order,even others waiting on food to after me said the same.

Absolute joke. Staff had not a clue who had ordered what. No orderly queue, staff guessing at what was in what phone order. I ordered and waited 30 mins to find they had not written my order down and they had no fish to complete my order. Yet they had fish for other orders that were behind me in the queue. First time I have walked out of a restaurant in my life. Will not be back!!!!

Last Wednesday i ordered chicken Fillet Burger it was really great.this is my favorait shop in this area.Staff always friendly n the food always tasty n clean place delivery was on time n the delivery guys was helpful.

I come here at least twice a week,friendly staff,clean place ,good prices and orders prepared very quickly .I loved Spicy Chicken Fillet Burger when I tasted it for the first time.Highly recommended to alllll.
