We only called in for lunch. This is the second time we've been in for a bite. It's hotel prices, but we haven't had a bad meal yet.

Friendly and service-oriented staff. Breakfast quite limited in choice. Consider the absence of cheese, meats, fresh fruit and fresh bread products...

Called in for dinner without a booking... although busy there was no problem getting a table. Food was very good. Most impressive was the customer service we received from Edward....he was excellent.

Overall, not worth the £200 we paid. Pros: great location, right next to town so easily walkable to a few restaurants and cafes. Cons: rooms dated and bathroom was dirty, small and in need to renovation. Breakfast was ok - limited hot food selection, and they had run out of veggie sausages.

Have been staying in this hotel for many years, this time was probably the last. Cost was average £330 for 3 nights until this year which cost £466. Nothing in the hotel has been upgraded or decorated so don't understand the massive price hike. The room itself actually had a hole behind the door and the curtain rail for the shower was hanging off the wall, shower pressure was poor also. Breakfast in the morning was ok once they brought out more food. Dinner in the evening was good.

I regularly visit the Adair Arms. Often I am just passing by for coffee or drinks. However recently I have had food, from both their lunch and grill menu. Food is of a high quality, fresh with generous portions served in a timely manner. All staff are polite, courteous and genuinely care. You are always made to feel exceptionally welcome and greeted with a genuine smile. Looking forward to many more visits at the Adair Arms.

The Adair arms is a lovely quaint hotel with modern amenities and a great central location. The full Irish breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed a perfect pint of Guinness

Food was lovely here. I had the salted chilli chicken for starter and beer battered fish n chips for main. Couldn't fault it. The staff were really nice, helpful and attentive to our needs.

This was my first time here in many years, and it was nice to find food still of excellent quality and value. Fast service and cordial atmosphere. Tried the hot and sour chicken for the first time (haven't seen that anywhere else) and certainly not the last time and it was scrumptious. I'm not a local so would never be a frequent customer, but I will most definitely return in the future.

I spent Easter Sunday in Gillies with my husband and two children aged 15 and 11 and we had a wonderful time from start to finish. We got pictures of the children with the Easter bunny who gave them both an egg and my 11 year old loved getting his face painted. We were served by the lovely Paige who couldn't do enough for us. I will definately be back. Thank you to all the staff for a truly memorable day

Pros: the food is fresh, crisp and delicious, probably the best cod I have ever tasted. The staff were polite and the whole place has an old timey charm. It was also very clean. Cons: The prices are high, A cod filet on its own will set you back a tenner, more if you want chips. the waiting times are longer than average. my order was small but i was still sat there for about 20 minutes at peak time. Conclusion: Expensive, but well worth the money if you have it to spare and are not in a rush. This is a very proud Chip shop and they have the awards and health ratings to back it up.
