Acropolis Greek Gyros in Colchester

first time ordered a delivery from this restaurant..it turned up early..which was great..when you are hungry..the food was hot..the portion was massive..meats great..salad and chips..pitta bread warm..side order of taramasater was lovely

I ordered a delivery. Food arrived barely warm. Too much sauce Very disappointed won’t order from them again in a hurry. Waste of money

I had a delivery years ago while in Colchester using Uber eats. Since then I get unsolicited texts every other day about offers and such. No matter how many times I block them they return. They are using data illegally and in breach of the data protection act.

Me and my husband love greek food and struggle to find decent greek restaurants. Whilst staying in Colchester we wanted to try this place and we were not disappointed, most definitely one of the best authentic tasting pittas I've eaten (I've had many being from Corfu) the atmosphere was homely with greek music and staff were friendly I would highly recommend and will be coming back when next in the area.

We never had food from here before all I can say is absolutely 💯 very very tasty and enjoyed every mouthfull! Keep up the good food you doing ! I recommend for anyone you won't be disappointed!!!

We always have the Acropolis Chef’s Special which is more than enough for two. The food is fresh and very tasty. Never had a bad takeaway from here.

So happy this is just around the corner from my workplace as I will definitely be returning. I had an absolutely delicious halloumi Gyros and it was such a generous portion! Thank you :)

Fair prices, amazing gyros plates. First time I’ve had such a tasty gyros plate. The staff is wonderful and so friendly. Definitely recommend it.

£10 FOR A KEBAB spread out in a foil tray Chicken, few chips ,lettuce,pitta bread & dip will stick to my normal kebab shop along cheaper

Fantastic food as always, generous portions, very tasty. We ordered on a Saturday night during European championships and delivery was still made to Stanway in less than an hour. Highly recommended.

Ordered home delivery excellent time bang on issue was food was slightly warm by time we finished was cold pork and chicken overcooked not a real Gyros

Ordered a delivery, food was great but was only Luke warm when it arrived. Suggest they put salad in a separate container to the mixed grill as we ended up with cold meat and warm salad! Greek sausage was tasty but had gristly bits in that could break a tooth! I will give them one more try as it could be really nice!!

Got a takeaway for my family and a 'bubble' friend. As much as I love Turkish kebab, I also love pork, which is of course absent from Turkish restaurants. Even better they have real Gyros like in Germany. Seasoned slices of real pork (not reconstituted) cooked and served doner style - absolutely delicious. They also have chicken gyros (chicken doner), pork or chicken souvlaki (sish kebab) and my second favourite, Bifteki, basically a Grilled burger stuffed with feta cheese. All available with lovely fresh salad, delicious puffy pittas, chips and tzatziki. I can't wait until after lockdown to be able to sit down in their small cafe style area and enjoy the food (& a Greek beer - yes they're licensed) really fresh from the grill. Very highly recommended. I've discovered that if you order through their website it's slightly cheaper than Just Eat.
