2 Taps in Belfast

I recently visited 2 Taps for the first time on Thursday night - the food was gorgeous and all freshly made, lovely atmosphere and really attentive staff. Met Jonny the head chef and complimented him on the food as it’s the best we’ve tried in ages - loads of variety for all tastes and not a meatball in sight !!! We will def be back !!!

Used to love this restaurant and made a point of always visiting when in Northern Ireland but the last 2 visits have been very disappointing Prices have gone whacko, portions smaller and the seafood paella 🥘 (one of my all time favourites) had very little seafood in it. I know times are hard and costs are high but you will lose many customers if you continue like this.

Was nothing Spanish about this food at all, was so bland, no taste to anything. Even the patatas bravas was flavourless. Will not be returning or recommending.

Was there last night with 3 friends. Staff were fab, cocktails amazing! Food was rotten, ordered scallops which were so bland and also had a strange taste like they weren’t fresh, had some sort of blob of sour cream/yoghurt type sauce in the middle of the plate which was equally rotten and in no way complimented the scallops. Patatas bravas were basic like but fine, beef short rib was over cooked. Would go back for drinks but certainly will be giving the food a miss.

Terrible comida insípida. Lo mejor que pedimos fue pan. Pato de textura insípida y extraña. Gambas de mal gusto. Pimientos horribles. Chorizo también malo. Así que sobreprecio, solía ser mejor. Nunca volverá, la comida no es aceptable y probablemente congelado.

Pato empapado y extraño. El artículo más agradable que pedimos era pan normal. 2 grifos solía ser mucho mejor. Horrible comida, nunca volverá.

This is the best tapas place I’ve visited, out of like a dozen… in Atlanta; where tapas are highly regarded. Every thing we ordered was superb, except the potatoes, which I never like at tapas places anyway. Besides that, you can’t go wrong.

Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. Only slightly let down for the food. Would have preferred a real tapas menu, with variety served in small doses and with Mediterranean flavours.

We went today to celebrate my birthday. The staff is great, super attentive at all times. They advised us very well on the amount of food to order since the portions are large. The sangria was spectacular, we drank two jugs between 5 people. The food was delicious, being Spanish I am not going to lie and say that the tapas and paella are the same as what we would find in Spanish cuisine, but they were very tasty and well prepared. Very reasonable price we paid for a hearty meal for 5.

Friendly, professional and helpful staff. Food was decent sized portions. Will definitely be visiting again to try other dishes.

The service first of all was very good as was the cocktail recommendation from the waitress which was a amaretto sour which is a must after her brilliant recommendation, also her service was very good and very attentive ……and our eyes were bigger than our bellies, but the food was great as per usual and always a nice environment to eat in! Interior is dated and less than inspiring but the menu is extensive and quite reasonably priced. A good place for quick tapas and a drink or two. Large outside seating area which is heated in cold weather

Visited many times, never disappointed with the food, drinks or service! Tina was our waitress today and she was absolutely exceptional, she is an asset to 2taps!

Last time I visited here Staff were rude and ignored us I emailed to ask if the place had been sold to new owners but informed no !!! Used to frequent this place very Frequently but have not been back since 2023 never used to ask have you booked but now apparently you do !!! Don't go out much now due to Belfast prices but if I did i certainly would not be coming here.

Food 11/10. Service is amazing. Staff keep the craic mighty as well. Shoutout that man Carrington. Best place to eat out Belfast for food and the craic.

Great service, and nice atmosphere. Food disappointing, lacking the wow. Flavours not great, and portions not consistent. Missing some favourites from previous menus, meatball and Spanish tortilla. Also advertising offers on social media and in the restaurant that aren’t running yet.

Ordered tapas and seafood paella. The paella was the worst I've ever had - completely flavorless. Tapas were okey, therefore three stars.. Overall, a disappointing experience due to the bland signature dish.

Food was great. Made fresh and taste was spot on.definitely comming back. Servers too was kind enough to check on you to see if everything was ok or if you needed anything else.

11/10 recommend!! Best tapas I and my family have ever eaten. I wish they could bring this restaurant to England. The range of tapas was so varied and offered great vegan options. What really put a damper on my night for my table of 5 was that we had two very rude condescending waiters approach us towards the end of our dinner and tell us to keep the noise down as there were ‘people dining’ around us and our volume wasn’t appropriate .. this was absurd as we were speaking as a group at a very normal respectful level, sharing a few laughs like any normal restaurant atmosphere sounds like, and we were twice approached and told there had been complaints made and to be quiet. As a group of young women we felt ganged up on by these waiters to be hushed and it ruined the whole tone of our dinner. Had we been our parent’s age in a group of 5 I don’t think they’d have had the nerve to come up and tell them to keep the noise down as all we were doing was making conversation!! Truly disgusted at how they conducted themselves in this situation and happy to see the back of this restaurant now.

Inauthentic food (this is not Spanish food), barely resembled tapas. The atmosphere was odd with a live musician singing Dirty old town. Service was very attentive to be fair. Didn’t enjoy any of our dishes.

Celebrating my wife's big birthday. They gave her a complimentary glass of bubbly. The food was just like being back in Madrid. Overall I felt the quality was worth every penny. Thank you

Awful! Awful! Awful! Food (Tapas) was about the worst I've ever tried to eat in a restaurant. The croquettes were bland with a slimy unpleasant texture while the tempura broccoli was burnt! After these two plates I gave up. So a very meagre dinner indeed.

Awful- the worst paella ever- it was flavourless and just stodgy rice with some seafood and a pile of large pieces of yellow peppers - nothing like any paella I have had before. We had a couple of tapas to start which were ok but far from authentic. I will have nightmares about that paella for a long time. We won’t be back.

Absolutely loved our experience at 2Taps, I have been many times before however this visit really stood out to us. Our waitress, Andrea, was the epitome of hospitality! Due to the menu having been changed since we last visited, Andrea was more than helpful when recommending us what dishes to try. Our overall experience was amazing, and we will definitely be back soon. Thanks Andrea!

My wife's day out for birthday, we booked 2taps for dinner for eight people. Food was very pricey on the menu and seemed even worse value when it arrived. Tapas only, dishes ranged around 8 to 12 £ depending what you wanted. Very over priced average food. Bottle wine £29. Won't be back, none of the our party of 8 had any different opnion. What we did agree on was the very kind helpful staff who served us.

I recently visited 2Taps in Belfast with high hopes, but unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. We ordered margaritas and asked to start with just some bread plates. However, they brought out all the tapas dishes at once. When we asked them to hold off on the paella because we hadn't even started our bottle of wine, we were told that "that's how they serve tapas." In my experience, tapas in Spain are served slowly and in groups, allowing you to enjoy each dish. The manager came to our table and explained that this was their standard practice, but it was never communicated to us upon arrival. To top it off, the food was average at best and the prices were quite high for the quality. The only bright spot was our waiter, Brendan, who was very nice and tried his best to accommodate us. However, given the rushed service and underwhelming food, I won't be returning to 2Taps.

Brilliant food and service, second time back and will definitely be back again, Carrington was a gentleman and offered great customer service.

Fantastic food, staff were attentive and were very helpful and friendly. It's worth a visit.

Although we hadn't booked, they found us a table. The service was great,the food excellent and the carafe of wine lovely. All in all we had a fantastic time,live music too!!

Booked here for fathers day 2024 we arrived early , we had a table for 4 booked outside but due to circumstance we ended up a party of 5, we asked if they could add one seat on to the end of our table and were told no by a ginger haired chap who seemed quite pleased to turn us away. When I asked why he said "We haven't got a spare seat in the whole resturant" funny as there were quite a few spare seats and two tables with no customers .Ah well the Dirty onion (round the corner)seated us without a booking no problem so we spent £250 here instead on food and drink with live music afterwards .2Taps is usually one of my favourites but their attitude was horrible on this occasion! Dissapionting.

After so much hype and persuasion, we tried 2 Taps in Belfast and got home disappointed. Food are served either undercooked or overcooked. The chorizo was overcooked and charred underneath. So as the steak I specifically requested to be pink but served medium well. The duck has a buttery mousse consistency and the taste made it worse. So far, the patatas bravas were the only food we enjoyed. They were polite enough to take the duck off our bill.

Two of us went to 2 Taps on a Friday night. Our service was excellent. The atmosphere was a bit loud but, sure, it was a Friday night and people were enjoying themselves. We had 6 plates between us and that was enough for a good meal. The food was very good, a bit heavy on the salt in places, but full of space and flavour. The overriding memory is that it felt expensive for what we got. Not knocking the restaurant for needing to recoup on what I'm sure are high rent and rates in the city centre, but that's how it left us. Glad we went it it will be a while before we'd go back due to the price.

We went here for a family lunch and we were very impressed. Great service and very tasty food. Thought it was a nice touch giving our child a small bag of goodies, crayons, colouring book and snap band, they loved it.

Nice for tapas and reasonably priced. Sangria was excellent.

On a wet and busy Belfast we found a haven of earth and welcome. Great wine,lovely staff especially Aoife and god food. A memorable evening.

We took a chance as a walk in. We were shown right away to a table. Told that our waiter (given a name) would be right along to take our drinks order. We sat for over 15 mins without anyone coming! We eat in 2 Taps on a regular basis and love the food....... So disappointed at this experience. We decided to leave and find food elsewhere.

Food was heavy, greasy but tasty. Service is borderline rude. Offered bread and then charged for it (because manager said so unlike the server).

We stopped by because the place had good reviews but they forgot some of our dishes we ordered, doubted the legitimacy of my food allergy, and the food we did get was pretty bad overall. Wouldn’t recommend.

Went here for lunch, a lovely experience. Family run Authentic Tapas bar. We were not disappointed. Will certainly be back. Thank you. We highly recommend this.

Went for a girl's night out. They have a large assortment of cocktails, mocktails, wines and more available. Also a few different varieties of sangria, had the white variety and it was lovely. Food was delicious, we got an assortment and put it in the middle for all. I had a taste of about 12 different dishes (except muscles and prawns, I don't like seafood) and everything tasted lovely. The duck was really nice and the corn swords were lovely as well. I have been told the seafood options were nice. The servers were great and so was the host who sat us. Very attentive and easily signalled if needed It is definitely best to reserve a table, lots of people were turned away without one on Saturday night, but the place was full the whole time we were there. Can get a bit loud and if you are seated in the outside terrace it can be a bit loud with the street open to you and the bar next door but not too bad.

Floor staff were very nice and accommodating, particularly the tall waiter with the beard. He made our experience very positive! One observation I would make is many people were turned away at the door due to being fully booked. I work in the industry and manage a busy restaurant myself. While I fully understand every restaurant operates differently it doesn’t sit too well to be told no when the restaurant was half empty throughout our stay and it seemed entirely possible to accommodate more guests. We also booked and requested a table in the section that we’d booked for and were told no. This same table also remained free for the entirety of our stay. However, once we were seated our experience was quite good, the food was lovely and the team were very accommodating so thank you for a lovely night.

Has always been amazing. Have loved this place for a long time with many happy memories. However we just can't afford it now since they had to raise prices. Not their fault, everything's more expensive, just no longer able to reconcile visiting as often due to cost increases and portion size shrinking.

I read enjoyed this tapas experience.. The warm friendly greeting from the staff and also being introduced to the server (Gillian) Gillian was inattentive and helpful when explaining the dishes and also available when needed ,she was always smiling and good criac. The food was delicious and lots to choose from and a good selection of wine , well priced .The service brilliant and atmosphere was excellent and reason for one less star was due to the rain but sure it’s NI .. Thanks for a wonderful dining experience and Belfast for your hospitality

Love this place! Got tons of dishes, both vegan and non vegan all were fantastic. The tempura broccoli was my fave and my son loved the chorizo. Get the honeycomb espresso martini if it’s available. Delicious!

The rudest staff I have came across in a long time! The bald guy on the entrance was SO smug and condescending telling us he had gave away our table as we were late. We were 5 minutes after the 15 min window so it's fair if you couldn't hold it longer, but to be spoke in such a was was laughable. We went to a much more accommodating restaurant around the corner called fourty four which was lovely with great staff - don't waste your time with two taps, I would say visit fourty four instead.

Me and my husband had a great time. The service was brilliant. All the staff were friendly, welcoming and gave great suggestions on what to have. The food was delicious and thoroughly enjoyed!

The best find on my 3 day trip to Belfast. Working on belfast for few days so i was a solo traveller. The atmosphere is best bar non, did not feel uncomfortable or rushed to eat. The service is unreal and the food was even better. Definitely my to go when i return again for work

Food was nice but menu limited compared to what it used to be.

The chef has not seen Spanish cuisine even in the Chanel discovery. Patatas bravas with curry, padrón peppers sautéed (raw) instead of fried... and so on a whole list of dishes from guiris for guiris. We saw the paella being served to some victims and we imagined that it was worse than the ones they sell frozen in the main square of Madrid. An unrepeatable experience (I wouldn't even dream of repeating it) if you have ever eaten Spanish food.

Great food and service, but shame you couldn't process our Belfast City Centre gift card and your restaurant is listed on their website as one of the places that accepts the card. We were advised to come back in a month or two when the issue might be sorted but after unexpectedly having to foot the entire bill ourselves sadly we can't afford to.

Lovely atmosphere and delicious food 🤤 amazing climate

It was our first time in Belfast over holiday and our dinner here was quite lovely making it one of the highlights of our trip! The service was amazing and we enjoyed our waiter (we don’t remember his name but he’s from Lithuania), he was so kind and funny as well helpful in giving suggestions for tapas and drinks as well had such a great chat with him. The fairy princess cocktail had a barbiecore presentation and tasted how it looks— light but sweet and exciting on the tastebuds. We ordered quite a few tapas but the grilled octopus was exquisite and melted right on the tongue with a well balanced sauce. The prawn dish had a great aroma and flavor profile of chili, garlic, and a nice mellow broth. Mushroom tapa dish is to die for, I would go back to Belfast just to have this dish again, it was a great texture and perfect flavor with right amount of garnish. The goat cheese salad was light and fresh creaminess with the nicely burnt crust was a lovely end to our dinner. Well worth the value the dinner and the extravagant service has made 2taps a place I would fly back to vist again.

Dinner for two. Lovely flavours and well cooked food. Portions were small. Overall great service, friendly staff and nice atmosphere.

An amazing dining experience! I have visited 2taps a few times in the past months and the quality of food and service cannot be beaten. The staff are so attentive, friendly, knowledgeable and up for having a laugh. Which brings a really relaxing atmosphere to the restaurant environment. The new menu that was recently launched has kept ordering a lot simpler. The menu has been fine tuned to provide the best quality ingredients and dishes. Really recommend the squid and portobello mushroom! I had to order extras as they were so good! Cannot wait to return!

Felt the service and arrival to the attention to details from the staff really made the night. The food and drinks were just excellent , can’t wait to go back again, some of the best cocktails in Belfast and all the small plates were full of flavour. Highly recommended

First time ever visiting 2 Taps and wow what an experience!! Attended on Wednesday 7th February for the Wine and Tapas event, a 6 course set menu featuring gastronomic delights such as paella, goats cheese custard, razor clams chilli and cod and scallop mosaic. Each course is served with wine, expertly presented and described by Robert Neill, whose company are the importers. Each wine has a unique, fascinating and compelling story- the Vina Gravonia Blanco 2013, which has an extremely small allocation of only a few cases per year in to 2 Taps, so we were very fortunate to be able to sample it. The light and aromatic Santiago Ruiz 2022 from the rainy Galicia region featured a map on the label, which the eldest daughter designed to help people find the winery. The Vina Cubillo Criaza 2014 produced in a town called Haro, which grew from a population of just a few thousand to over 100k in 5 years as a result of devastating vine disease in French vineyards. The food was also amazing and credit must go to new chef Jonny ( and the rest of the chef team) who took time to describe each of the courses. Finally, a huge thanks to Jarron, Joanne and table staff for the absolutely amazing customer service- you will go a long way to find 2 more dedicated, enthusistic and passionate hosts- you actually feel part of the 2 Taps family before you leave. These events are few and far between so keep a look out for the next one and book early to avoid disappointment. Thanks guys for an unforgettable experience!!!!

Previous menu was brilliant with Lots of options for different diets. Lots of veggie options too. The new menu is very disappointing. The food was very over priced for such small portions and very below average quality. Such a shame. The staff are still lovely though and the outdoor seating is still great. Wouldn’t recommend to a friend anymore,

A real disappointment. Mediocre at best. Nothing cooked fresh, and tasted like that. Food showed no skill apart from the ability to defrost pre-prepaired food. Charcuterie board is a joke, £24 for a plate of thick cut sourdough, with 3 slices of meat each and a few small cubes of cheese. Would not recommend.

Very good service, from the waiters to the chefs...the best spanish food and service in belfast nice experience

The food here was so bland and boring, I was sitting eating it thinking of all the money I had wasted. This was my first paella but it was more of a bowl of sludgy rice that had somehow turned orange, not through any flavourful additions. The music was blasting. We asked the staff to turn it down and they were very accommodating, but either they didn’t turn it down or they turned it back up, so we were shouting to hear each other at our sit down dinner.

As Spanish, I can not consider this as Spanish food. Too far away from Spanish taste and quality and everything.

My wife and I are just back from 2 taps absolutely brilliant from start to finish. Service food and atmosphere 1st class 5star all round. Thankyou 2 taps

Overpriced for the size of the portions! Could order 4 paella for one person and pay 48 quid for it.

Way over priced, mediocre food.

Formerly one of our favourite restaurants, sadly the new menu has changed that. Meagre paella portion which was sticky and a now very limited vegetarian selection. Previously the menu was wonderful for veggies with good choice. Now it is limited to a small selection. The tempura broccoli was the highlight of a forgettable meal. There are now better options in Belfast for Tapas, something I never thought I would say. Very disappointed.

New menu was a little shorter but everything we tasted was delicious octopus was a exceptional

The service was very good, however that’s where all the positives end. For the size of the portions, it is not worth the price. I understand the concept of tapas but it was really too small, many of the dishes taking up less than half the plate, and the cost of them being too expensive. Additionally, the flavor was lacking- I have visited before with the old menu, the paella was huge and tasted great, now it is very small and bland. I won’t be returning.

Food was basic. Not worth the money. One of our guests ordered catch of the day or fish of the day. There was a break down in translation with the waiter. So it was wrong which was fine. But then waiter came over to table to confront our guest which I found totally unprofessional and unacceptable. So this was my second time here after 5 years didn't like it first time though I'd give it a second chance. Never be back really disappointed.

Booked a table for the same evening and seated inside. They have a large outside terrace and was well heated, no coat needed in December. Excellent tapas choices with lots of veggie options. Service was friendly and efficient. A lovely atmosphere to enjoy a meal

The food was good, the staff however appeared displeased. Appeared quite bothered and annoyed at things we said and hurried us out of the place. We were charged 10% for service despite it being poor and us only being a party of 2 (the menu stated only parties of 5+ would be charged this)
