17/04/2019: Setting great , food excellent and well presented would certainly go again, staff were helpful and just a great place defiantly fine dining worth the extra you pay, you are not disappointed, a great little gem
13/04/2019: High hopes for this restaurant after reading the reviews. Thankfully they were met and exceeded. Fabulous food where the quality of the product shines through. Food prepared in a way that enhances the ingrediants without unnecessary faff. Worth every penny and we really hope to return asap. Wonderful.

The Black Lion

Llanegwad, Carmarthenshire
18/04/2019: Recently visited this pub for a birthday supper. Our meals were first rate. The fish pie was fantastic but all meals were enjoyed by the group. The portions are impressive too. We ate in the bar, which has a welcoming feel- beer was good too.
14/04/2019: We were staying in Talley and drove past a few times in our way to Brechfa Forest, deciding to stop for dinner.

The Kings Arms

St. Ishmael, Carmarthenshire
31/03/2019: Again we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Staff friendly and efficient. Nothing too much trouble. Wide choice of dishes and ours did not disappoint. The only improvement I would recommend is that my choice of beef bourguignon would have been enhanced by a few more mushrooms and some red wine in the sauce to make it special and the appearance improved with some green veg/salad, even a spoonful of peas. But this is being picky. I thoroughly enjoyed what I was given. Will definitely be back soon.
31/03/2019: This is the 3rd time we’ve visited the king and and once again the food was out of this world. An amazing friendly welcome, hospitality was fantastic and all the staff couldn’t do enough for us. Will definitely be going back very soon.

The Butchers Arms

Llanddarog, Carmarthenshire
10/04/2019: Great Little Pub! Great Food! Great Fire! Very Welcoming Staff! Well Worth Visiting! Our Second Time As The First Was So Memorable!
06/04/2019: Went here for a 21st birthday meal last night and the warm welcome we received from the owner was amazing, going out of her way to come and get a birthday cake I had brought with me, nothing was too much trouble. All the staff were friendly, polite and efficient. The food was superlative, especially the fillet steak, which was cooked to perfection. There was a lovely homely atmosphere and I cant wait for the next celebration so we can return.

Calon Cafe and Interiors

Carmarthen Town South, Carmarthenshire
13/04/2019: Splashed out an a meal for two at lunch time. Nice atmosphere, pleasant staff and good location. It was a little expensive for what we had...but having said that, the meal was fresh and nicely presented.
26/03/2019: Called yesterday having seen this place whilst passing through last week. Having had a lovely weekend in west Wales we decided to try this for breakfast yesterday on our way home. Staff were friendly and attentive, place was spotless and the food of quality you’d find in any well appointed cafe in London. I opted for the eggs and bacon on sourdough which was perfect, the flat white was a treat, and others in our party also commented on the brilliant presentation and quality of ingredients. I’d love another drive out just for breakfast. I’m definitely leaving with some cake next time too, they looked lush!

The Forest Arms

Llanegwad, Carmarthenshire
18/03/2019: The food was good and there was plenty. The only downside was that although we had booked the gentleman that greeted and served us was adamant that we hadn't. He was rude and his attitude was that we shouldn't have been there which made the dining experience uncomfortable.
13/03/2019: We stopped in for a quick mid week pub lunch while on holiday in the area. Great food, good wine list and a lovely local beer on tap. And a warm welcome for us and our dog just to top off the experience. Highly recommended!

Florentino's

Carmarthen Town South, Carmarthenshire
19/04/2019: We booked a table for our wedding anniversary and this restaurant did not disappoint. It had a fantastic 'buzz'! The food, wine and service were fabulous. We will definetely return!
15/04/2019: Came back here again for a meal. Every time we come it's always busy and we can see why. The food is freshly prepared using quality ingredients and is so delicious. I had Baccala alla Livernese - A chunky piece of cod in a tomato and garlic sauce with a hint of chillies and my partner had the Osso Bucco Alla Fiorentina - slow cooked shin of beef in a tomato sauce with carrots and peas. Both dishes were delicious and nicely polished off with the Chianti Classico a smooth red wine with no tannins.

Arthur's

Laugharne Township, Carmarthenshire
19/04/2019: We called in here for lunch and were very impressed. We were greeted as soon as we went through the door. All the staff were friendly and attentive. Our order was taken quickly and our food did not take long to come. All our meals were lovely and we would happily return. The courgette and avocado cake was a first for us but we would recommend it.
19/04/2019: First time we visited Laugharne in a few years, even though we don't live far away. We tried Arthur's for the first time, we weren't disappointed. The staff where warm and friendly, always smiling, which you don't often see in some places. The food is reasonably priced and of a good standard, its definitely worth a visit!

The Cowshed

Whitland, Carmarthenshire
06/04/2019: We stopped here after a trip to Narberth and were not disappointed! Incredible flavours to choose from (try the cow mix! Delicious) and I bought a litre tub to take home with 10 scoops all different flavours to try! The couple were absolutely lovely too! Can’t wait to go back to try the pizzas and get more ice-cream!
31/03/2019: We first experienced the Cowshed’s ice cream last summer whilst visiting Pembrokeshire for the first time. We had the Jaffa cake ice cream, simply delicious. Returned this year for a weeks holiday, top of our to do list was to visit the Cowshed, not just for ice cream but to also try out their pizzas. lovely couple, made us feel very welcome. Pizza’s were delicious.

Penny Black Coffee House

Burry Port, Carmarthenshire
05/03/2019: During an unseasonably warm spell, at the halfway point in our coastal walk, we came upon the Penny Black coffee house and post office. Lovely relaxed atmosphere, well supported, considering the season and above all most welcoming. For a hot chocolate, mocha with cream, 2 welsh cakes and a portion of barra brith the charge of £6.20 seemed modest indeed by city and English standards.
27/10/2018: We were staying in Burry Port and had breakfast here on our final day. The food was fantastic and the staff were so friendly. The prices were very reasonable too. Will definitely go back when we're in Burry Port again.

The Old Printing Office

Llandovery, Carmarthenshire, <20£
01/04/2019: Delicious! Celeriac and apple soup, one of my favourite combos but don’t see it enough and the celeriac and apple season is just coming to an end ... we squeezed it in!
23/03/2019: Hidden away behind a gift shop this little Cafe is a gem! I only had sourdough bread with caramelized onion and cheese topping and a rocket salad but it was delicious! Nice staff too!
