Owls Nest Tea Room Diner

Llandovery, Carmarthenshire, <20£
12/09/2020: Really good food, cakes are lush. Plenty of parking great biker meet but also for non bikers Ian the owner is really friendly and makes everyone welcome it’s like an extended family atmosphere plenty of covid precautions in place Just go there and see for your self
11/09/2020: Found this place purely by chance. On a biking trip round Wales, looking for a stop when I saw three other bikers turn off into the drive. Thought OK, followed them in and Bingo!Inside and outside (covered) seating Covid secure. You could tell that thought, work and money had been spent here.Wise choice to stop here before tackling The Devils Staircase en route to Aberystwyth.A custard slice and a brew each.Recommended.

24/09/2020: We visited Mrs. Will on our annual holiday in Pembrokeshire. We had phonef to order and explainef that on of our party required gluten free. This was absolutely no problem and we picked up the seafood platter as arranged. The quality of the food was excellent and the friendliness of the service was second to none. The platter was extremely good value for money.

Impasto Pizza Bar

Milford: Central, Pembrokeshire
09/09/2020: I only tend to write reviews when I’ve had a particularly bad experience or an exceptionally good one. Today I had an exceptionally good experience at The Impasto Pizza Bar. The sun was shining and the view of the marina from our table was lovely. My wife and I ordered a couple of pizzas. I had the Triton and my wife had the Popeye. They were both absolutely superb. We were served by two young waitresses. I don’t know their names but one had tattoos and the other didn’t. I hope that the description enables them to recognise themselves. I have to say the service was excellent. No corporate script just natural charm and personalities that shone through in droves. Really good service. I was recommended the cheesecake ( which is nothing like a cheesecake ) and my wife had the berry pavlova. Both desserts were gorgeous. We both said that it was the best dining experience we have had in a long time. Well done!
06/09/2020: Tasty stone baked pizzas! The service was great and there were a brilliant selection of pizzas and pasta including lots of vegetarian and vegan options. We really enjoyed our meal here and would definitely recommend this place for a chilled time with friends. We sat outside in the evening which was no problem as they have outdoor heaters.

Runwayskiln

St. Ishmael's, Pembrokeshire
20/09/2020: We last visited Runwayskiln on a cold and blustery day last November when the welcome was warm and the food excellent. A lot has changed in the world since then but the welcome and quality of food certainly haven’t. Forced to diversify due to the current climate, the successful Runwayskiln at Home has now given way to 4 weeks of dining under the excellently constructed canopy. It’s worth visiting for the view alone but when the food is so good then it makes for a truly wonderful experience. From the outset, Claire and the team made us feel welcome and had thoughtfully placed our requested highchair in the shade in preparation for our arrival. All options on the menu were appealing. The falafel and beetroot and white bean hummus starter was a triumph, as was the tender pork belly with green apple nam jim salad. Mains of Catalan fish stew and spinach and feta borek were also a hit. The chocolate brownie, a cake often sold at cafes and often disappointing, was soft and rich and the cherry bakewell tart had perfectly crisp pastry. The drinks menu had clearly been carefully chosen and the Grillo Viognier was lovely and refreshing. We cannot recommend Runwayskiln highly enough. If you cannot get a space for their dining menu next week, then be sure to visit for a coffee and cake. The team deserve a well earned rest at the start of October but we look forward to seeing what comes next once they’re back. Diolch yn fawr!
14/09/2020: Stopped here on circular walk from Martin's haven/marloes beach. Very efficient and effective social distancing measures We had chocolate and ginger brownie, and apple cake. Both were really nice, and made even better by the beautiful surroundings and view towards St Anne's head.

The Stone Crab

Saundersfoot, Pembrokeshire
09/10/2020: What can I say, the food at the stone crab is spectacular. Fresh, delicious, prepared by a very talented chef, in lovely surroundings with lovely staff. You have to book far in advance to get a table, but unsurprising that it’s so popular when it’s so amazing. It’s worth booking at the point you organise your holiday!
07/10/2020: Don’t take any notice of the bad reviews, the staff couldn’t do enough for us. We managed to grab a last minute booking and I’m so glad we did. The food was fantastic and they couldn’t accommodate enough when asked to change something for a vegetarian. The staff were polite and very welcoming. The food is very reasonably priced and portion sizes are very generous. A lovely night out, we have been before and will definitely be returning.

Pointz Castle Ice Cream

Solva, Pembrokeshire
28/09/2020: We’re local but only just discovered this place. All I can say is Wow! THIS IS THE BEST ICE CREAM I've or we’ve ever had. The lemon merengue was off the scale delicious, as was my husbands salted caramel and the jammie dodger my daughter had was delicious, really generous portions in a lovely waffle cone. I cannot praise this place enough.and will be coming back for an icecream dessert very soon. Lovely to see the mum cows with their babies too. <3
03/09/2020: We had amazing ice creams at Pointz castle, Penycwm opens daily at 11am-4.30pm. The wild strawberry and blueberry and pannacotta were to die for in chocolate topped cornets, a great portion with helpful staff and an outdoor picnic area to devour them. It's next to a farm with typical farmyard odours but lovely to see the cows lining up to be milked and the swallows circling above, we even managed to beat the usual daily queue for ice cream. Highly recommend a visit there when on holiday in Pembrokeshire

Diablo's on the Quay

Carmarthen Town South, Carmarthenshire
27/09/2020: Fantastic food, wine, ambience and service. Faultless. And the bill was less than I expected. I felt that they weren’t trying to rip you off like most steak houses. The chips salad and sauce was included in the price of the steak, and service wasn’t automatically added. The waitress was grateful of the tip too.Would highly recommend and we will be going back.
26/09/2020: Had a lovely lunch to celebrate my birthday today . The fillet steak was the best I have ever tasted . Fabulous service amazing food would highly recommend .

Wavecrest Cafe

Pembroke: St. Mary North, Pembrokeshire
16/10/2020: Had a very nice lunch stop at the cafe following our 4 mile circular coastal walk. COVID precautions in place allied to a very good service of delicious food - brie and bacon baguette with trimmings. The weather was glorious so we sat outside (albeit there are tables indoors) and enjoyed the gorgeous views of the bay. Then we had another coastal walk to build up the appetite to try the yummy looking cakes - we were not disappointed. The only downside for us was the lack of any recycling bins at the cafe -just general waste bins. Such a pity when the food is served in cardboard containers with wooden utensils ....
11/10/2020: We booked a regular afternoon tea for four adults. On arrival we found the cafe to be very Covid19 compliant, with table spacing and one way system etc. We were shown to our table and were asked to order our drinks, which was excellent. Afternoon tea arrived a short time later, and individual selection of home made sandwiches, pastries, savoury scones and cheese and chutney. Cakes and cream tea were all on a cake stand. Everything was home made and delicious. Nothing was left by the time we had finished.Service was excellent, we were kept topped up with tea and coffee. Very friendly staff, who had all taken a lot of trouble to make things nice.Afternoon tea must be pre booked

Florentino's

Carmarthen Town South, Carmarthenshire
20/10/2020: Lovely bijou restaurant with extensive menu of Italian food. There is a pizza oven as well as the full range of pastas and Italian dishes. This restaurant is always busy so I would recommend you book. It's not a huge place, and is set over two floors, with the upper floor being accessed by stairs. I don't think this restaurant could easily cater for wheelchair users as the downstairs is small and space is tight. The food is lovely, with something for everyone. Sometimes the service is slow, but that seems to be purely the volume of customers in such a small place, and the food is always worth waiting for. You will need to book in advance, don't assume you can drop in as they are usually full, especially at the end of the week and weekends.
19/10/2020: Every time when I come to this place I'm feeling good. It can be communicated in English, Italian, Romanian, Polish..and probably more.. Fresh food. I recommend Fiorentina bisteca and swordfish. White wine. And thank you, Marek! I was surprised and tricked by the taste of swordfish, taste full! Compliments to chef!

The Ferry Inn

St. Dogmaels, Pembrokeshire
01/10/2020: Visited for an evening meal, pre-booked online with a very efficient reply to confirm and advise of Covid secure arrangements. We were seated inside by the window so had a lovely view before darkness fell.I had the vegetable tagine which was delicious; my husband had the seafood basket which he also said was really good. And we both had desserts (cheesecake and waffle) - also lovely. Our waitress was attentive but not intrusive, service was quick - really enjoyed our visit here and couldn't fault anything.
01/10/2020: Amazing views. Amazing food. Amazing service AMAZING Will return to The Ferry Inn next time we visit the area

07/10/2020: We visited (twice) while on holiday after a recommendation and we were pleased we did. All the food we had was great. Rack of Ribs was amazing!! Everything we had was excellent. The Fuchsia Caffe

Tenby: South, Pembrokeshire
12/09/2020: We visited The Fuchsia Caffe after looking on Tripadvisor for a dog FRIENDLY good Cafe for breakfast, on a wet windy day. On arrival we were told we could only sit outside we were then taken to a very small table that was so close to the one next to it we would have rubbed shoulders with the person sat there, we reminded the waiter of social distances, he apologised and took us to another very small table. We the had another waitress come out to take our order, I requested a vegetarian breakfast, she informed me the mushroom order hadn’t been delivered yet, expected very soon, she offered me avocado instead, I said I was happy to wait for the mushrooms, I also ordered brown toast. Minutes later our breakfast arrived, no mushrooms, avocado or brown toast. The table we sat on was so small if was difficult to fit everything on. The staff were very friendly but not the most efficient. A disappointing visit.
31/08/2020: To mark our first morning in Tenby and to mark my partner’s 40th birthday we ventured here for breakfast.A superb decision as I enjoyed the traditional breakfast and my partner enjoyed the vegan breakfast. Both absolutely delicious and food was of the highest standard. Both breakfasts washed down with a cappuccino and latte which was really good quality coffee. Also I’m not particularly a dog person but I tip my hat to the Caffè for its treatment of dogs and the special dog menu.Would definitely venture here again next time we’re in Tenby.
