Mrs Will the Fish - seafood take-away

Solva, Pembrokeshire
17/12/2020: A must-have when in this neck of the woods - fresh dressed crab. Cold and rainy so had it hot with linguine, chilli, garlic, lemon, parsley. Simple and perfect.
25/11/2020: We rented a cottage in Solva for a long weekend. Having seen the reviews, we ordered a seafood platter for four. It was beautifully presented, so fresh and delicious. Would definitely recommend. Outstanding.

Wavecrest Cafe

Pembroke: St. Mary North, Pembrokeshire
20/11/2020: A beautiful morning out along the coast of South Pembs finished by a beautiful meal at wavecrest. Lovely homemade quiche with all the trimmings, coffee and cake to finish. The set up for covid security was second to none. Total separation from the staff when ordering & paying, track and trace system, tables spaced out well and everything served in disposable containers. Staff were all very friendly and accommodating. Able to sit out with the dog too. Perfect afternoon completed with a final walk on angle beach. Bliss!!
17/10/2020: 4 of us just had afternnon tea, excellent spread and all beautifully home made, all staff very welcoming and friendly, i would highly recommend a visit.

The Ferry Inn

St. Dogmaels, Pembrokeshire
03/11/2020: We were on holiday staying at Moylgrove and decided to visit The Ferry Inn. We had to park quite away from the restaurant as they were running to capacity by the look of it, hence the number of vehicles. The welcome and Covid procedures were spot on and we opted for an inside table as there was a slight chill in the air.The staff were particularly friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was well presented and wholesome. For 4 adults and 2 children the bill totaled £147.00 to include all drinks food and wine.recommended, certainly.
28/10/2020: Knifes and forks dirty, takes very long just for a drink the arrive. Bad service. Avoid and go to another pub.

MamGu Welshcakes

Solva, Pembrokeshire
15/12/2020: I ordered welshcakes from Mamgu's Welshcakes bakery in Clunderwen (not the cafe in Solva) to be sent to a friend in Birmingham. There was a mix up with Royal Mail & the welshcakes didn't reach their destination. I contacted the bakery to find out what had happened & the lady I spoke to couldn't have been lovelier. She has since sent the order again (fresh welshcakes of course) & I look forward to hearing from my friends that they have thoroughly enjoyed Mamgu's beautiful welshcakes. I will definitely use this small company again & will of course recommend them also.
12/11/2020: Wanted to support a local business just as we got out of lockdown, I'll be giving this place a miss and opting for the plethora of other places in Pembs where you get a warm welcome. Not a sour faced, rude woman who really should not be working in such an industry. Cafe was freezing cold much like the greeting, a staff member and customers were sat with their coats on. Needless to say, we didn't bother staying. Shame, as I was looking forward to a nice lunch in a cosy cafe.

The Stone Crab

Saundersfoot, Pembrokeshire
31/12/2020: A work colleague recommended The Stone Crab when I mentioned in passing that I had an upcoming holiday to Tenby. I tried to book ahead for a dinner reservation but they were fully booked - a testament to how sought after their lovely food is! We were lucky to get a table for lunch and having then spent an evening stuck down a rabbit-hole of TripAdvisor reviews, our lunch at The Stone Crab became a very eagerly anticipated meal. I'm so happy to say it did not disappoint.I ordered the seafood pasta, and my partner had the paella. Both our pasta & paella were absolutely packed with seafood, and the flavour was awesome. I wasn't sure what to expect with ordering seafood pasta; after all you can find it on most menus in all sorts of restaurants. However The Stone Crab's seafood pasta was far superior to any seafood pasta dish I have eaten, and probably will eat! A lady on a neighbouring table had the most incredible seafood platter you could imagine, and I wish now that I had ordered the same! Not because our meals weren't fantastic but just because that platter looked unreal. Something to try next time we happen to be in the area.I highly recommend paying The Stone Crab a visit, and to book in advance! We saw many people pop in for a table but were sadly turned away at the door.
07/12/2020: Excellent service and food. No matter what you choose to eat, everything is delicious. Full point. Need just another heater outside.

The Brewery Inn Cosheston

Lamphey, Pembrokeshire
01/12/2020: Lovely dinner. Great friendly service. Dog friendly. Beautiful ambience. Well played. Will visit again.
11/11/2020: Well worth the wait!Over the last couple of years we've attempted to book in here but always been fully booked. Now we're living in the area we had more time so booked last month to assure a table for mams 75th birthday today. We were not disappointed - lovely menu - only difficulty was which lovely dish to order! The staff and management were incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful. We ordered moules in the most magnificent sauce with side salad and fries (gluten free), half rack of ribs - oh so tasty (my dad usually struggles appetite wise but he certainly did justice to his meal!)Mam (birthday girl) had a delicious steak with blue cheese sauce - awesome!Desserts were equally as delicious.Raspberry frangipani (gluten free) and a taste explosion in the form of a gin, elderflower and blackberry jelly with sorbet! We had a lovely crisp Savignon blanc and a good selection of lagers and beers for my dad.Would definitely recommend and will certainly return!

Runwayskiln

St. Ishmael's, Pembrokeshire
20/09/2020: We last visited Runwayskiln on a cold and blustery day last November when the welcome was warm and the food excellent. A lot has changed in the world since then but the welcome and quality of food certainly haven’t. Forced to diversify due to the current climate, the successful Runwayskiln at Home has now given way to 4 weeks of dining under the excellently constructed canopy. It’s worth visiting for the view alone but when the food is so good then it makes for a truly wonderful experience. From the outset, Claire and the team made us feel welcome and had thoughtfully placed our requested highchair in the shade in preparation for our arrival. All options on the menu were appealing. The falafel and beetroot and white bean hummus starter was a triumph, as was the tender pork belly with green apple nam jim salad. Mains of Catalan fish stew and spinach and feta borek were also a hit. The chocolate brownie, a cake often sold at cafes and often disappointing, was soft and rich and the cherry bakewell tart had perfectly crisp pastry. The drinks menu had clearly been carefully chosen and the Grillo Viognier was lovely and refreshing. We cannot recommend Runwayskiln highly enough. If you cannot get a space for their dining menu next week, then be sure to visit for a coffee and cake. The team deserve a well earned rest at the start of October but we look forward to seeing what comes next once they’re back. Diolch yn fawr!
14/09/2020: Stopped here on circular walk from Martin's haven/marloes beach. Very efficient and effective social distancing measures We had chocolate and ginger brownie, and apple cake. Both were really nice, and made even better by the beautiful surroundings and view towards St Anne's head.

The Globe

Fishguard North East, Pembrokeshire
01/11/2020: The Globe and Cegin Morris is a quaint, traditional little pub. It's super cosy, especially with the fire lit in Winter and perfect for whatever tipple you fancy. The old style jukebox adds to the vintage authenticity of it and the locals are welcoming and friendly. I've eaten here twice, seafood pizza is out of this world and the Sunday lunch was one of the tastiest I've had (and I've sampled a good few Sunday dinners!)There's also a small, pretty garden for Summer evenings. Will always return whenever I visit Pembrokeshire.
31/10/2020: What a fantastic place the staff are wonderful, they offer vegan meals and all Covid 19 rules are met. I highly recommend this little Welsh gem.
