Garbo's Cafe Bar

St. Thomas, Swansea
17/04/2019: Been to Diablos SA1 half a dozen times and the breakfast is always brilliant! Good service, quality ingredients and cooked perfectly. If you've been once, it's hard to resist!
15/04/2019: I don’t give out many five star ratings, I believe, rarely is anything perfect and there is always room for improvement. In the case of Diablos, yes there is room for improvement, which we will come to in a moment.

Hanson at the Chelsea

Castle, Swansea
13/04/2019: Just had a beautiful lunch with my friend for our shared birthday. I had the cod in tempura batter which was superb white fish in the lightest of batters. Followed by a perfect creme brulee. Service was excellent, only downfall was that it was a little noisy. But will definitely return.
07/04/2019: This is indeed a case of 'NEVER judge a book by it's cover'.

Britannia Inn

Gower, Swansea, 20-30£
17/04/2019: We went to the Britannia after a friend's recommendation and booked on a Saturday lunchtime for four of us. We were blown away by the varied, cheffy menu at such reasonable prices and couldn't believe that they could serve such quality across the board. We were wrong!! The starters of rabbit, scotch egg and Thai fish cakes were top notch and the mains of "3 bird dinner" and cod loin left us wondering how they do it! We squeezed in some desserts- the special coffee creme brulee (heavenly) and the polenta cake with apple doughnut etc....The service was excellent and the whole thing was relaxed but highly professional. Really can't fault it. Best meal we've had in ages. Only question is " when can we go back?.....!"
13/04/2019: I can not fault our experience of The Britannia today. The friendly, welcoming service was great throughout. The food was absolutely delicious. The bill was extremely reasonable.

Madeira Restaurant

Castle, Swansea
13/04/2019: Staff were very accommodating to seat us just before 10pm (when kitchen closes) and served up 6 very impressive meals. Meat hung from hooks above the table and you took off what you wanted without overloading the plate... only negative was the very small bit of salad that looked a little lonely in the corner of our plates. Not sure if they'd run out of salad, or it's just added for a little decoration. Good atmosphere and does seem like you are in Madeira!
13/04/2019: Excellent service. Gorgeous Cataplanas de Tamboril. Josè was a fantastic host who went the extra mile to make you feel special. A great night. Perfect.

Pant-Y-Gwydr

Castle, Swansea
17/04/2019: Planning ahead for a birthday lunch in far-off Swansea, I thought I knew what I could expect from Pant-y-Gwyder, which from its website is French with a capital F despite the Welsh name.
16/02/2019: Lovely staff helped us choose the best from the menu, house white was great. Small touches like bread bowls, bringing water to the table without asking and aperitifs were very appreciated. Just try and save room for puddings!

The Front Room

Oystermouth, Swansea
19/04/2019: Very cute and cosy little cafe which keeps the menu down to a sensible short selection and concentrates on getting those comfort food options right - but there are enough eyecatching options to mark it out as somewhere a little different.
16/04/2019: We popped in for a coffee this cafe being the first one we saw that dogs were welcome. The dog was welcomed with a bowl of water and a dog biscuit, which he enjoyed after his walk. We had coffee and a cream tea since we were inbewteen breakfast and lunch but looking at the menu will definitely return to sample more food.

La Parmigiana

Uplands, Swansea
21/03/2019: Such a lovely atmosphere exudes from this very warm and friendly Italian restaurant. The host Francesca is a charming lady who makes you feel your presence is very special to her. Another huge plus is that you can bring your own wine or depending on the occasion - champagne! The restaurant also doubles up as a delicatessen where one can purchase all kinds of Italian delicacies. It's unique. We love it!
16/03/2019: just got back from the restaurant, was very disappointed with the service ,the staff were very friendly but took way to long to be served ,the food was nice but the portions were tiny, good if you're on a low carb diet ,we left without dessert in the end because we couldn't wait any longer !

Three Cliffs Coffee Shop

Pennard, Swansea, <20£
19/04/2019: Great location and a one-stop shop - the coffee shop opens from 6am to 6pm every day except Christmas Day and there's a restaurant area open for lunches (Monday to Saturday), afternoon teas (all week) and evening meals (Wednesday to Saturday).
07/04/2019: What can I say about this superb place, visited friends at Caswell Bay last week and decided to call in for lunch, not having been for months, love the new restaurant area, weather was gorgeous so we sat outside in the sheltered area, sun was shining and it was lovely (few days later we had snow) had to have my favourite, a ham and cheese ploughmans lunch, it was superb, local sourced ham and cheese, just delicious, did take photos but for some reason my phone has deleted them, well worth a stop after a walk, all food freshly prepared and home cooked, oh and the cakes are amazing. Car parking is either in the National trust car park opposite although there are limited free spaces outside the restaurant. Be aware there can be cows and big cows at that, wandering free along the car park and cliff top, they do not however bother anyone and are a delight to see, we were lucky enough last summer to watch a cow give birth on the cliff top, Lovely walks down to three cliffs bay or along the top for the view across to Oxwich bay, also worth a walk is across to the fabulous and breath taking Pennard Castle, access is across the common and golf course via white stone waymarked path, views from the castle are something else and highly recommended.

Mediterranean

Oystermouth, Swansea
17/04/2019: It's springtime but why wait to summer to get your taste of the Med? The Mediterranean in Mumbles is a Turkish restaurant apparently much in demand. We got lucky with a late afternoon visit, because by the time we were finishing our meal the restaurant was virtually full of booked tables with others turning up for take-aways. And the experience told us why... this is Turkish cuisine served up with the love you would expect on a Mediterranean holiday. A very stylish place worthy of further visits.
09/04/2019: First time here last night. Food was tasty and good portion size. That being said, service wasn’t the best. Only around 6 customers in there and we weren’t asked how our food was. I had to ask for sauce because despite being tasty, quite a dry meal. It never came. Also I wouldn’t recommend sitting in the seat next to where the meat is cooked. Very warm and woke up this morning and my neck is burnt lmao
