Joes

Oystermouth, Swansea
13/12/2018: Customer Service was very good, the restaurant was very clean and the product (vanilla ice cream) was fairly priced.
12/12/2018: Joes is famous in the Swanesea / Gower area and it does a vanilla ice cream with a unique taste. Its chocolate ice cream is good too. The other flavours are just about ok bjut the main thing I regret is the cheap plastic decor and furnishings, and that if you sit inside, they will serve your ice cream on disposable plastic. The whole place feels plastic, when it could be a classy ice cream parlour instead. So, it's a wasted opportunity in that respect and unfortunately, it contributes masses of waste plastic when it needn't. Still damn good vanilla though...

Hanson at the Chelsea

Castle, Swansea
03/12/2018: Two friends and I went here for our usual Christmas get together. We were warmly greeted and shown immediately to our table. This is the first time I have been seated downstairs and the steps down are steep and narrow so not suited to anyone with mobility problems. Our table had ample room around it. The service was very quick - although not hurried - and came with a smile. We all had the 3 course lunch menu. I had chicken liver parfait with walnut bread to start which was delicious. For the main it was baked salmon on a bed of shredded veg and noodles. The salmon was succulent and the veg and noodles extremely tasty. For dessert I had the chocolate tart with a chocolate ganache - very rich but enjoyed every mouthful! At £19.95 for the three courses it was money very well spent. Looking forward to my next visit.
30/11/2018: Beautiful food and excellent service from Molly.

Bouchon De Rossi

Castle, Swansea
16/12/2018: my favourite restaurant by far, prices are reasonable although I do think you get more for your money with the lunchtime deal, abit more on the plate .food always of high standard & so tasty, compliments to the chef, our male waiter was very friendly & couldn’t do enough for us..2 portions of sauté potatoes didn’t arrive with meals & they had finished their food by the time they came... but came out with a bottle of pressecco & cake as an apology which was fine. Would return but would stick to the lunchtime deal as starters are the same but about £4 more in the evening menu
12/12/2018: First class service on a busy Saturday evening. Excellent wine and puddings to die for. Meat not perfect but tasty veg and lovely saute potatoes. All in all most enjoyable. Really nice ambience.

Slice

Sketty, Swansea
09/12/2018: I have been dying to visit this place for about a year or so. What a delightful treat and although somewhat pricey, mouth watering dishes are worth the penny and wait. From the caramelized butter to the exquisite dessert, a gustatory and visual feast.
04/11/2018: I had heard a lot about this restaurant and finally got a chance to visit recently with the wife and some friends. Small and intimate it really is all about the food and it certainly didn’t disappoint. From the delightful L’amuse Bouche followed by Poached Quail, Confit Leg, Quail Consommé, Sweetcorn & Chorizo and then a main course of Salt Marsh Lamb, Shank, Rack & Sweetbreads, Swede Puree & Salt Baked Swede and concluded with Blackberry Teacake and Blackberry Sorbet each was beautifully prepared and thoroughly enjoyed. Others chose the likes of Poached Turbot, White Crab, Brown Butter & Sea Herbs for mains and they too really enjoyed their food.

The Mermaid Cafe Bar & Restaurant

Oystermouth, Swansea
02/12/2018: Came to Swansea to visit family. Booked in but had to call as we ran 15 minutes late, they were fully booked but it was no trouble. We all had the delicious carvery with lovely cooked veg etc. Lots of very friendly staff who couldn’t do enough and just wanted to make sure we had enjoyable meal
30/11/2018: I fully appreciate the owner has the right to ask people to leave if he is getting complaints from other people regarding for example what others may deem a noisy dog. I would argue the dog was not particularly noisy but I accept people have different views of what people tolerate or deem noisy.

La Parmigiana

Uplands, Swansea
12/12/2018: Probably the best Italian eatery I’ve ever been to. Run by Francesca. You can’t get more Italian than her and her family and the food is absolutely divine. But word of warning you must book o4 you will not get in.
06/12/2018: Had a fab meal, normally menu changes weekly, but for the xmas period it a new one. The new chef is great and really presents the food well. Started with stuffed swordfish and had the stuffed squid as a main. Awesome

Britannia Inn

Gower, Swansea, 20-30£
16/12/2018: Another visit to our favourite restaurant. This time on a very busy Saturday lunch time in the build up to Christmas. The front-of-house team were quick, calm and so pleasant. The food was superb. I had cockles and laverbread starter - one of my favourites and always a delight. My shoulder of lamb was just fantastic the meat so tender the accompanying mixed vegetables cooked perfectly and the potatoes with caramelised onions - I could have just had this for a main course it was so nice. Dessert was a large chocolate and hazelnut brownie with Ice cream and I ordered what must be the nicest hot chocolate in Wales!! This restaurant achieved what was perfection for me - on what may be one of their busiest days of the year.
13/12/2018: We met up here with friends who live on the Gower. It offers a friendly welcome and pleasant ambience. There is a wide choice of good quality and imaginative dishes as well as nice ales. Service is friendly and efficient. Well with transiting the Gower to enjoy. Easy parking. Recommend!

The Front Room

Oystermouth, Swansea
28/11/2018: Arrived in the Mumbles extremely hungry after very long drive and early start. Couldn’t check in to hotel so decided to walk along front and find somewhere to grab some food. Passed several places and then spotted here and glad we did. Although just after midday no problem with cooking up 3 Breakfasts. I had the Rarebit and it was just fabulous. My husband said then ,and has repeated to me several times since, that it was the best breakfast he has eaten out for a very long time. Service was great, friendly and happy and the decor is bright and inviting. Only reason 5 not given is really down to first choice for me not available and no Tomato Ketchup ☹️ for the boys but don’t let this stop u from eating here , it is really very good.
24/11/2018: We ate here as part of a group booking through Mumbles Find Wine. We had a 5-course set menu, which along with the wines, was amazing value. We look forward to coming back and trying it out again soon. The food was all fantasic, the service was great and friendly and the decor is lovely for a coastal village. Two things, I thought the portion of pate was too big, which is why I left some and, I think not having coat hooks so that people end up putting their coats on the back of their chairs spoils the look of the place, which is a shame. See you soon. xx

Istanbul Restaurant

Castle, Swansea, <20£
21/11/2018: We visited our cousins in Swansea and wanted to take them out for dinner. Istanbul was a great find. The food was delicious, plentiful, and fairly priced. The service couldn't have been better. It was a great evening out.
15/11/2018: Simple does it, and the menu is authentic, seems like true original recipes, but I do find it overpriced considering the didhed. Nice vibe, nice staff, but expensive.

21/10/2018: 2nd time we've been to this restaurant , the food is the best I have ever had ( especially the sardines starter ) , 3 courses for £23.00 you just bring your own drink, 10 out of 10 for staff atmosphere and food

St. Thomas, Swansea
16/12/2018: Went to Diablo for our xmas lung cracking atmosphere gteat food and good service. Well worth a visit.
16/12/2018: Nice atmosphere & service... disappointed with the cawl... not had a cawl that was beef/lamb/mint stock before ... veg seemed to be supermarket prepped instead of rustic, hardly any leek present,at £8-£9, rather disappointing... sadly, not of the usual standard of Diablo’s brand

Pantri

Clydach, Swansea
10/11/2018: Visited today with a friend. We had an absolutely delicious afternoon tea. Everything was freshly prepared and delicious. I can’t recommend enough. The cafe’s new location is lovely! It’s tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. It’s well worth a visit, there was a constant stream of customers which is a recommendation in itself.
15/09/2018: I visited Pantri’s new premises today, and was thrilled to enter the lovely bright new cafe on Vardre Road. There’s lots more space, with seating upstairs as well, but the quality of both coffee and cakes remains high. I’ll be back!
