Cleopatra's Coffee Shop

Holt, Wrexham, <20£
07/03/2019: Came for a late breakfast and was very impressed, full English with a side of waffles with bacon and maple syrup went down a treat. Really beautiful place in a lovely location. Will deffinately be coming again:)
11/02/2019: What a hidden gem of a place this is. We took a detour having stayed overnight at Carden Park Hotel and stopped for a light lunch at Cleopatra's. A warm welcome awaited as we opened the door to find a larger than expected coffee shop Bistro. The service was exceptional but moreover the food was outstanding. I had the home made Butternut and chilli soup and I have to say I have tried to recreate it on several occasions since returning home but nothing matches the flavour! My husband had a toastie which he said was very tasty and well garnished. We both could have sat and waited until we were both hungry again but felt we might outstay our welcome! We will definitely return when next in the area. Many thanks

Cross Foxes

Marchwiel, Wrexham, <20£
16/02/2019: We called here one glorious February Saturday afternoon and got a great table in the conservatory. Had a pint of Jennings Cumberland which was really good.
14/02/2019: When we arrived ..... We had to sit in bar area no ambience, asked if we could dine in conservatory where candles were lit , told fully booked . ordered at the bar, food ok, cold plates and very basic food but very expensive...... finished food, within 20 minutes, not asked if everything was ok and when I went to the ladies at least 6 tables were available. Not a nice experience especially as we’d booked and it was Valentines I won’t go back. Very disappointed.

Smithfield, Wrexham, <20£
13/03/2019: Has to be the best Indian restaurant I've ever been to, never fails to impress. Ive been coming here for years and loved every meal. Staff and service are second to none and the food is impeccable!!! Been to many many similar restaurants over the years in the UK and abroad but Anise wins time and time again, perfect.
05/03/2019: Visited Anise again on Sunday 3rd March.

Old No. 7 Bar & Grill

Offa, Wrexham
11/11/2018: Myself and my friend went to Old No 7 a year ago for a girls night, the food was delicious the service was great and the atmosphere was lovely. A candlelit table surrounded with exposed wooden beams, rustic looking decor and lots of quirky little touches. We were suitable impressed, I recently returned with my Fiancé to find the food was equally as nice, the service just as good and the atomosphere even better and they have added live music downstairs which was a nice surprise once we’d finished our meals. The cocktails are good I wish we’d had more time to try them all.
29/09/2018: Arrived just as they opened, service quick and friendly, offered seats before dinner. Service efficient and friendly. Moved to dinner area when relevant. Service and food second to none. Would definitely return. Thanks for best food/service in a long time.

21/12/2018: I just popped in to ask for some water for a guild dog and the lady happerliy helped. I found this be the extremely kind and caring for others

Les's Fish Bar

19/01/2019: Me and my son visited and sat down in the cafe for a chippy dinner.
18/01/2019: My first visit to this excellent Fish and Chips Café and take away. A well organised café. Prompt service and attention by friendly staff. Plenty of choice on the menu. Prompt delivery of meal after placing order. Very clean and pleasant surroundings. I will certainly go back for another visit.

Prospect Garden Tea Rooms

Llangollen Rural, Wrexham
15/01/2019: We went for a specially arranged breakfast, the food was good and very generous. The setting is lovely and the view spectacular. It is the perfect place for a coffee, lunch or tea and the people are lovely.
03/11/2018: Lovely welcome to the tea rooms, excellent table service by a young fella . We enjoyed a light lunch looking out at the changing colours of autumn leaves and wishing our lives away 'till next spring . We'll see you again then .

The Hanmer Arms

Overton, Wrexham
11/03/2019: We chose Hanmer Arms based on reviews, we had earmarked another, the reviews were positive and local to our needs on the night and thought worthy of choosing.
04/03/2019: On the way back from racing at Bangor we were looking for somewhere to have something to eat and having seen an advert in the racecard found the Hanmer Arms.

Holt, Wrexham
11/03/2019: Great coffee, limited choice of cakes but great choices of hot or cold foods. Also nice selection of teas, coffees, jams, cakes and biscuits to buy and take away.
08/03/2019: Lovely little deli in downtown Central Holt 👍

The Priory Cafe

Brynyffynnon, Wrexham
01/02/2019: I come here about once a week to get my lunch, the food is always amazing! Lovely staff too and a good price for a decent sized portion. I work across the road and they always deliver it over for me! My fave cafe in Wrexham
20/01/2019: Called with my sister - busy Thursday morning but found a table by the window. Staff very friendly and polite, took our order and it was promptly served. Breakfast cooked beautifully and hot. Coffee was very good too. All for less than £5 - bargain. Highly recommend and will return.

Pant Yr Ochan

Gresford East and West, Wrexham, 30-45£
03/03/2019: Visited for first time. Very busy early in evening & quite noisy. Good selection of food but quite expensive. Felt that portions quite small.
26/02/2019: Called on a very busy Friday due to the lovely weather I think everyone had the same idea. Staff found us a table in the bar area which was great as there were a couple of other dogs in too. Ordered sausage and mash which was very tasty and my husband had the chicken and leek pie which was delicious. We had quite a wait for our food to arrive but due to the amount of people in, we were not surprised. Highly recommend and will definitely return.

Machine House Restaurant

Marford and Hoseley, Wrexham
08/03/2019: We were on holiday in nearby Farnden and found this place on TripAdvisor. We rang to book and Jess was really friendly.
05/03/2019: It is unusual for me to complain about portion size; I do not go out to dine to have big portions. However the portion sizes at this restaurant were incredibly small and took "nouvelle cuisine" to a whole new level. We had the short tasting menu with wines but could easily have eaten it twice over or perhaps three times over! My party of eight all felt the same. However, we liked the food, theplace, our table and the service. The cost of the ingredients is a relatively small part of the costs of a meal to a restaurant and is surprises me that they should so seriously skimp on this. We shall not be returning unless this changes, which is a shame as Rossett understandably lacks good restaurants and this one has the potential to be the best in the area.

The Bank Wine Bar and Bistro

Offa, Wrexham
13/03/2019: Went with friends for the afternoon tea and was very impressed by the whole set up,lovely surroundings really nice staff and the afternoon tea was great value, all fresh and very nicely served.
12/02/2019: A great little place built inside a former bank building, great selection of drinks great staff, very friendly and knowledgable. A great little touch is the drinks cellar which is downstairs in one of the old vaults. A love little bar.

The Nags Head

Smithfield, Wrexham, <20£
18/12/2018: Very disappointed..My husband ordered the cottage pie and clearly is a microwave one. Awful taste and poor quality of food. Other food may be a lot nicer but to warn people dont bother with the cottage pie ...other than that the place is lovely and homely and staff friendly..
12/12/2018: Decided to stop here for lunch. Good atmosphere and a nice meal. Worth a look even if it's only for a drink.

Griffin Inn Pub

Rossett, Wrexham, <20£
26/02/2019: Went for first time, had a drink and left. Had heard the food was good but we decided not to eat as the place had no effort made on it, old grubby looking surroundings.
11/01/2019: Lovely friendly local pub great food and drinks and brilliant staff it may be off the main road but its always busy. The landlord and his wife are very welcoming and always take good care of their customers lovely place. Look forward to going again.
