The Owain Glyndwr Inn

Gwernymynydd, Flintshire
11/11/2018: A lovely, warm welcoming pub, the food was great, all home cooked, we had chicken & pulled pork pie and it was a full on proper pie obviously hand made. Delicious! My g&t; even had blueberries and raspberries. Great friendly service. Will definitely be back.
20/07/2018: Staying just down the road at the B&B; Broncoed Uchaf and, luckily, this is probably the nearest place to eat. The pub itself is very popular with the locals with a good range of drinks including some good real ales. The atmosphere is fantastic and the views look down 360 degrees to the River Dee and over towards Chester. The views are excellent. So is the food. We had the steak and red wine pie and the lasagne - both were very good. Oh yes, the staff are very good as well. Thoroughly recommended.

The Cross Keys

Northop, Flintshire
17/12/2018: This has always been my local favourite village Pub, despite no longer living in the Village. You always receive a warm and friendly welcome, with Gareth and Dawn, the best of hosts.
12/12/2018: we booked a table at the cross keys and, without a shadow of a doubt, it was one of the best meals that we’d tasted. I had the steak which was cooked to perfection, the chips were to die for. Everything was cooked from scratch and tasted amazing. My dessert was a homemade cheesecake which was wonderful. Each dish was a decent sized portion, not the skimpy dishes usually associated with an outstanding chef. We both left absolutely stuffed. very reasonably priced too. Dawn made us feel very welcome and attended our every need.

Raj Balti

Flint Castle, Flintshire
11/12/2018: Great Indian food served by very friendly staff and the owner. We enjoyed an evening meal for three and there was just too much to eat.
11/12/2018: We are regulars at Raj Balti and have been fans for years. The staff are so friendly and eager to please. The food is cooked to perfection and the menu has lots of interesting and flavoursome curries. The atmosphere is welcoming, comfortable and clean. This restaurant is unlicensed but you are welcome to bring your own drinks. This keeps the final bill to a minimum. The takeaway food is also good from here.

Glyndwr Plants Coffee Shop

Penyffordd, Flintshire
02/11/2018: Brilliant coffee stop, the cakes on the counter are brilliant ! We will definitely go back to try other things to eat, and the plants look strong, healthy and reasonably priced.
22/08/2018: We visit this coffee shop every time on our way home from our caravan in Porthmadog, my husbands says they do the best breakfast ever and trust me he's tried a quite a lot. They also service excellent coffee.

Woodworks Cafe

Mold Broncoed, Flintshire
07/12/2018: Kids Lunch boxes are great. My two can be fussy eaters but the sandwiches were made on very nice bread. The warm Chicken Salad was superb as was my wife's Vegetable soup. It must have been homemade as it was lovely. Definitely going here again as it was only £23 for all of us to eat. - Superb value and very nice staff that couldn't do enough.
02/12/2018: We had a lovely time here on the 1st December meeting up with friends for a meal. The food was lovely...the only minor comment, and it is minor, would be that the roasters were a touch too crispy. Aside from that though it was a very pleasant experience. The service was excellent...everyone looked after us really well. Highly recommend anyone to give it a go. We have visited a number of times & have had a superb breakfast or coffee & lovely cake. This was the first full meal we've had ( 3 courses) and we weren't disappointed.

The White Bear

Mancot, Flintshire, <20£
07/12/2018: Went for a Christmas dinner wit quite a few friends. There is a choice of starters mains and desserts. I went for the soup, seabass which both was lovely. The lemon tart and winter berries was sharp and sweet. The only thing was noone came round to collect any empty glasses, etc so alot of clutter on the table. Food is well worth going for 5 stars for food.
12/11/2018: Had visited for evening meals - and decided to try Sunday Lunch. Nobody in the group was disappointed - Meals excellent , friendly staff, and really good value.

Indian Lounge

Cilcain, Flintshire
14/11/2018: First time buffet here on Sunday. We've been here a few times and would otherwise rate it well. Generally good service and nice curries. However the Sunday buffet was below par. The food didn't seem fresh nor as tasty. Guess this might be an issue with buffet food in general. However, there's no excuse for the upset tummy we both suffered later. They also need to start serving some decent coffee. The instant variety or whatever it is, is a disappointing way to finish a meal out.
06/11/2018: If you are in the area, I would highly recommend a visit here. It isn’t the cheapest Indian but you pay for the quality. My boyfriend and I both ordered starters which were super tasty but quite spicy! Then shared a curry as they was slightly out of our budget for one each. The garlic naan was absolutely beautiful, best I’ve ever tasted. But the service we received was absolutely fantastic. I’ve never seen or received such high quality service as we did here. Well done to the staff and thank you so much! We really did enjoy our food.

Cilcain, Flintshire
12/11/2018: We visited the Cherry Pie in 11th November as a family of 17 to celebrate my mums 70th Birthday, all of the staff from the moment will drove in the car park offered a warm welcome, excellent service and food. I cannot thank them enough for making the day so special, absolutely nothing was a problem.

The Swan

Higher Kinnerton, Flintshire, <20£
20/11/2018: Great welcome. Great service. Good food. We had soup of the day, Mediterranean salad and beef lasagne. All good quality.
04/11/2018: Last night we enjoyed a lovely meal at The Swan with some friends. All our meals were lovely and worth every penny , especially my vegetable lasagna, delicious ! The waitress was fab ! Her attention to detail was superb and always smiling and very attentive. Only negative we noticed was the lack of ambiance, bit dated decor and possibly look at the presentation of the menu but we will return for sure. !!

The Fox Inn

Cilcain, Flintshire
10/10/2018: Very impressed! There's not much available near us on a Monday evening, especially with a dog in tow. We don't like leaving him alone after we've been at work all day and there's a nice dining room here where dogs can sit quietly with you. (It's right next to the toilets but was so quiet we didn't really notice that). Lovely hosts who made us welcome and served up 1st class beer with good quality home-style food. Thanks!
06/09/2018: We've been a few times now. You won't get better value food anywhere. A lovely location. Great people running it. Fab food at an amazing price. They are even dog friendly.

Plas Hafod Hotel Restaurant & Bar

Gwernymynydd, Flintshire
18/12/2018: We have been many times over the years but this year was hugely disappointing. Starter and pudding were ok but the Traditional Christmas lunch was no better than a supermarket ready meal. Turkey was dry, stuffing was undercooked and limited selection of vegetables were simply boil with no attempt to ‘chef them up’. A child could have done better. Needless to say we will not be returning anytime soon.
01/12/2018: Wow!!! What a fantastic meal!! And plenty of it AND the staff even came round to see if we wanted any extra!!!
