The Crown

Trelawnyd and Gwaenysgor, Flintshire
03/03/2019: Our family of 11 booked for a Sunday afternoon meal.. we were all well impressed with the choices, quality and the portion sizes of our meals including the child's food... our only concern was the wait of nearly an hour for our food to start appearing from the ìnital ordering ..(It was explained to us that they were extremely busy) but we all agreed it was well worth the wait..staff were excellent very friendly and attentive... shall definitely be going back...
03/02/2019: After our meal my wife said that this was one of the best locally cooked food she has had in North Wales. We didn't book but only just managed to get in. One bit of constructive criticism is that the chips could have been hotter, lots of restaurants these days are doing twice cooked and sometimes thrice. Booking in advance is a good idea. Special thanks to Megan who gave us wonderful service. Will we go again YES.

Chocks Away Diner

Hawarden, Flintshire
15/03/2019: We booked a table for 8 at 12.00. We ordered individualy at the counter and paid for our meals. Shortly after, it became very popular and a queue formed. We dis not have to wait long before the food was served to us along with a mug of tea. All were pleased with their choices. The menu was quite good and varied. I would suggest if you intend to go at lunch time that you ring and book a table. There is a good view of the airfield and while we were there the Beluga landed to pick up some Airbus wings. There are a few Russian aircraft to be seen as well as a Tornado.
11/03/2019: Took the youngest grandson to see if we could see the beluga plane in action, excellent food efficient staff a great little gem.

Crofters Pantry

Gronant, Flintshire
11/03/2019: Was really looking forward to Crofters opening after winter shutdown..was not disappointed today when we called on 1st day opening...meals were delicious and owners could not have been more welcoming...
11/02/2019: The pantry is just the place for kicking off those shoes and enjoying refreshments after walking the beach whether from Ffynongroew or Prestatyn, you will find a welcome, from friendly staff and good food to refresh you for the next leg, or your return walk.

Raj Balti

Flint Castle, Flintshire
08/03/2019: my friend & i visited last week & was greeted by Tiger who looked after us. we had starters & main courses & the food was amazing.the restaurant doesn,t really look much from the outside but please visit . as you will be pleasantly surprised.the food and service was excellent & this is now by far our favourite Indian restaurant.
26/02/2019: My sister in law and I have eaten at this restaurant a good few times now, the food is consistently very good, really tastey, nothing is ever too much trouble for the guys that served us, they have a wide range of tastey dishes on the menu including fish, which I had last night as a tandori starter, I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a delicious meal at a good cost, well worth a visit or a take away, also if you want to drink alcohol you just take your own which keeps the bill cost right down..always a winner in my book!

Woodworks Cafe

Mold Broncoed, Flintshire
09/03/2019: Well set out premises and can get very busy. The food is good, particularly the cakes.
06/03/2019: Wow! What a little gem. Never been before, but will most definitely be returning. We had to wait 20 minutes for a table, so I would highly recommend booking in advance. It gave me an excuse to have a look around and pick up a few treats in the quaint gift shop.

The Cross Keys

Northop, Flintshire
04/03/2019: Had a great meal on Wednesday evening, the landlady was very accommodating as we hadn’t booked. The food was excellent, lovely village pub, would definitely recommend trying this local.
28/02/2019: I took my 14 year old son out for a meal last night and this morning hes still talking about the great night we had. Upon arrival we were put at ease and made to feel welcome with the owners interacting with myself and my son. A really friendly atmosphere and despite being busy we were soon both seated for our meals. With a great menu, plenty of choice being well priced we thoroughly enjoyed our food. Id recommend the Cross Keys to all, be it a groups of friends, couples and families alike. Many thanks for a wonderful night.

Cherry Pie

Cilcain, Flintshire
03/03/2019: Driving to N Wales on A541 for a few days break and came across this absolute gem of an eating place at Melin-y-Wern between Mold and Denbigh. Feeling peckish and keeping watch for a pub/restaurant saw the sign, turned round, went in, and very glad that we did. Welcomed warmly by Simon and shown to our nicely presented table. Soup of the Day and Corn on the Cob for starters followed by Gammon and 1/2 Spring Chicken. Lots of choice for veg and potatoes all cooked to perfection. Both recommended wines were excellent and complimented dishes perfectly. Nice to have someone who really knows his wines. Shared a Meringue Glace for dessert. Mmmmm. Great hospitality, lovely atmosphere and friendly efficient service. Just a pity we don't live nearer. Would highly recommend this wine bar/restaurant.
16/02/2019: Lovely family afternoon lunch. Excellent service and food was very good. Unlimited tea & coffee Well worth a visit will definitely return.

Glyndwr Plants Coffee Shop

Penyffordd, Flintshire
02/11/2018: Brilliant coffee stop, the cakes on the counter are brilliant ! We will definitely go back to try other things to eat, and the plants look strong, healthy and reasonably priced.
22/08/2018: We visit this coffee shop every time on our way home from our caravan in Porthmadog, my husbands says they do the best breakfast ever and trust me he's tried a quite a lot. They also service excellent coffee.

The Fox Inn

Cilcain, Flintshire
19/01/2019: We had a birthday celebration here, great home cooked food, did not try deserts as full up of main meal, plenty to eat, lovely log fire very old inn, could not fault it. We will go again
07/12/2018: Went with family for a 3 course Xmas fayre meal for a very reasonable price at this wonderful little gem in the countryside.Food was hot and well presented and good size portions very tasty. Service was good. Marvellous!!

Tea Rooms

Brynford, Flintshire
19/03/2019: We took my mother there for an early mother’s day treat. Afternoon tea was excellent. Sandwiches, cakes and scones were deliciously fresh, light and plentyful!. Along with unlimited tea/coffee, a beautiful vista and atmosphere, friendly helpful staff in a relaxing, welcoming environment made it a lovely experience. We will be back there!.
17/03/2019: This would not be an obvious place to eat.... but we wanted breakfast and we were recommended to try this cafe.

The Master Fryer

Queensferry, Flintshire
19/02/2019: been going here for years, great food, allways friendly , we mainly order over the phone to avoid the vast amount of people in there, best around !
22/12/2018: Great value, tasty take away. Strongly recommended. Family business that is well known in the area. :)

Indian Lounge

Cilcain, Flintshire
11/03/2019: We ordered the set menu takeaway for two. The chutney's were nice, and the chicken tikka also. However, the popadoms smelt of rancid cooking fat, the Pasanda I ordered was tasteless with rubbery, bland chicken, and my husband's dansak was equally disappointing. Sadly, about 70 % of the meal went in the bin. I don't know if we just got a bad night as people seem to like this place, but we were very disappointed and won't be trying them again.
10/03/2019: We had booked a table here a few weeks ago as it always seems busy, We arrived and were shown to our table, drinks orders were taken and menus provided. What a great choice of meals there are, will cover most fussy eaters. We had starters of Chicken Pakora, which was succulent chicken strips in batter with sauce and a little salad, and Popadums. All went down very well. Then there was a range of mains, Chicken Jalfrezi, Podina Gusht, which was a very tasty succulent Lamb Dish, Nilgiri Korma, a tasty Chicken Dish and a Chicken Curry. Then we had deserts and coffee's to round off the night. Ambience here was very good. Every table was full and there were many people in and out for take away meals.

The Griffin Inn

Argoed, Flintshire
03/02/2019: Fantastic home cooked food lots food all home cooked not frozen food big Yorkshire pudding. Good value for money cost 84 pound for 4 two course meals and that's included our drinks. Can't wait to go back.
29/01/2019: Three of us had lunch here last Sunday and it was excellent. Two of us had turkey and one beef. Huge amount of meat beautifully cooked. We all had a huge Yorkshire pudding as well. The desserts were good too. The cost for three two course meals plus drinks came to just over £30 which we thought was good value. The staff were friendly and we were very impressed.

The Owain Glyndwr Inn

Gwernymynydd, Flintshire
08/03/2019: Great staff and nice atmosphere - due to this will return. Looks like a pub that will be nice to sit outside in the summer with fab views over mold and North Wales. Chips were great though felt gammon steak was a bit peely wally and needed a hot grill to crisp the fat.
11/11/2018: A lovely, warm welcoming pub, the food was great, all home cooked, we had chicken & pulled pork pie and it was a full on proper pie obviously hand made. Delicious! My g&t; even had blueberries and raspberries. Great friendly service. Will definitely be back.

The White Bear

Mancot, Flintshire, <20£
16/03/2019: Came here for dinner Friday evening, we most definitely were not dissappointed. We were greated by a rather suave young gentlemen called Gareth who eased us in and looked after us very well! The selection of lager and ale on offer is extensive and very varied, coupled with a good selection of wines. Food was fantastic! Couldnt fault anything. More or less a traditional british eat and drink stronghold with great service! Will be coming back to try sunday lunch!
15/03/2019: If you are thinking of doing karaoke here on a Friday night then don't bother coming to this place. You can't hear anyone sing as he plays the music way too loud and the microphones are rubbish and too low in the mix on any song he plays. He was obnoxious to someone who told him so do yourselves a favour White Bear and sack the DJ.
