Breaktimes Cafe

Porthmadog West, Gwynedd
11/04/2019: Stopping in Travelodge and found this little gem to come to for breakfast. The staff are very friendly and efficient, the food is excellent and there is plenty of choice and the prices are very reasonable. At the time of our visit there was extention work going on but it did not no cause any disturbance to the cafe. This place is worth the walk or drive to come and try and I am sure you will return again.
05/04/2019: This cafe is amazing, I have been a couple of times and the standards are just as high as they were the first time I went in there. The food is cooked whilst you wait, there is a very good choice including vegetarian and gluten free (if you make the staff aware of your needs) you can swap items if you don’t like something, the children’s menu is really good as well, all breakfasts come with a glass of orange juice and unlimited tea or coffee and it’s all reasonably priced

15/04/2019: Visited Marmalade at the weekend for a bite to eat and we weren't disappointed. My wife had Smashed Avocado with Poached egg on gluten free bread and commented how delicious it tasted. I just had a scone with jam and cream which was a pleasure to eat! The staff were very friendly and attentive and I would have no hesitation in recommending this establishment if you are visiting Rhos on Sea!

The White Horse

Llandyrnog, Denbighshire, <20£
13/04/2019: We came to celebrate a birthday and thoroughly enjoyed the evening. The menu is more varied than most, we enjoyed the minty lamb chops and the beef stroganoff (the beef was very tender) and particularly liked the mini-desserts served with coffee - a great way for an indulgence when you’re really full up! Staff are pleasant and relaxed and we will certainly be back.
11/04/2019: We first visited The White Horse about 15 years ago on one of our many trips to North Wales. We liked it, but as it's quite a distance from where we stay, we didn't go back until just before Christmas 2018.

18/04/2019: My partner and I decided to pop in for Pizza for his birthday as the Corn Mill was busy and we hadn’t booked in to the Three Eagles.

Castle Inn

Criccieth, Gwynedd
18/04/2019: What a fantastic experience from start to finish! Wonderful selection of vegan and gluten free options, generous portions and absolutely delicious food. The ambience is fab, lovely cosy interior and friendly, polite staff. If you’re in that neck of the woods it’s absolutely worth a visit. We’re back there on holiday in a few weeks and The Castle Inn is most definitely the place I’m looking forward to visiting most. Don’t miss out! :)
15/04/2019: Our visit to the Castle Inn last night was brilliant. I was delighted to see the reviews below which mention how good the pub is for gluten free and it did not disappoint. I ordered the gf fish and chips with a side of onion rings (all gf fish, etc is done in a separate frier) and my fiancé had the steak and ale pie with a - very large-portion of garlic bread. All of the staff were lovely and answered our questions about what there is to do in the local area. If we are ever in the area again, we won't hesitate to return to the Castle Inn!

Swellies Cafe

Y Felinheli, Gwynedd, <20£
17/04/2019: This small restaurant right on the dock at Y Feliheli is a superb stop for lunch or dinner. We stopped by for lunch and the staff were fantastic, very helpful and friendly. One of our orders didn't have a baguette as advertised but the chef improvised and actually the end product was even better! Well worth a diversion if you are passing, forget the by pass, go through Felinheli and visit this place!!
17/04/2019: Small cafe in a lovely location by the marina. Staff are really friendly too which is always a plus! Great place to go for a guaranteed good breakfast.

03/04/2019: A Great find - a wine bar that served small meals. The wine selection was good and the staff most helpful and friendly. Downstairs was a large collection of wines of the world. Our lunch was excellent. We went back a couple of days later.
01/03/2019: We came here from Aberystwyth for Valentine’s Day. We went for the £12 wine tasting option which was great value for money- we had 12 taster-size glasses of wine. 16/04/2019: We visited this evening as we are staying here on holiday. We were recommended this place by our Host and we were not disappointed. The food was very clearly freshly made and tasted delicious. We were a family of 2 adults (carbonara and tortellini) with 2 children (11 & 14 - pizza and pasta) Obviously we could only comment on what we had but it was clear plates all round. The staff were really friendly and courteous. We are only here for 4 days but if we stay in this area we will definately return.

Sosban and The Old Butchers Restaurant

Cadnant, Isle of Anglesey
17/04/2019: A truly lovely meal. I have been lucky enough to have eaten out all over the country for 50 years and this was the finest gastronomic experience to date in Wales. Eight courses, every one superb. No need for advice. Admire the food briefly and then enjoy it. The Pinna Fidelis red wine from the Ribera del Doura was exceptionally good. Service was attentive and helpful.
07/04/2019: We have been lucky enough to get a table several times as Sosban and never been disappointed.

Moorings Bistro

Porthmadog West, Gwynedd
16/04/2019: Everything was superb. Homemade lamb burger with sweet potato fries, seafood platter and 2 children's Bolognese all were delicious. For dessert, caramel shortbread, strawberry sundae and the best crème brulé that I have ever had! Cannot recommend this place highly enough. If wanting to eat in the evening, I'd recommend booking because listening to the telephone conversations whilst waiting for our meals, the bistro is always fully booked.
14/04/2019: The Mooring is simply a little gem. I’ve had several meals and it never fails to impress. From the food to the service and a setting and view which is second to none .

13/04/2019: this was a great find (thanks trip advisor!) we needed an early start for breakfast and this place opens at 8.30 so was perfect. The menu was really varied so I’m sure there would be something for anyone. Coffee was lovely, and so were the staff!
