Penceunant Isaf Tea Rooms

Llanberis, Gwynedd
14/01/2018: We visited Pen-y-Ceunant on Friday 5th January early evening after having walked up and down Snowdon, in the snow, with two children and two dogs. We received the warmest of welcomes from Stefan. We enjoyed the warmest and friendliest of visits, not to mention the delicious Welsh cake, Welsh fruit cake, wine, Welsh ales, tea and coffee. The children devoured the home made hot chocolate, and concurred YES the best in the U.K. (or the World...); the children also enjoyed endless amounts of delicious homemade lemonade. We couldn't recall a better mountain ascent - or indeed walk - to end with heavenly food, drink, and a spot of something stronger, all the while, consumed around the roaring fire with the friendliest of hosts, Stefan. A huge thank you to Stefan for making us feel most welcome and we are planning a return visit. Amazing building, fabulous host, delicious food - couldn't recommend more highly!
08/01/2018: We visited this cafe on our way home from new year in wales while my husband ran up snowden. Me and my 4 friends got such a lovely warm welcome from Stefan who gave us information about his cafe and the area. The cafe was warm with a lovely open fire, the tea was never ending and we really enjoyed our welsh cakes and bars brith. The visit to this cafe quickly became one of the highlights of our trip to wales. When my husband returned from his run he was offered a glass of lemonade and a shower which was great before our drive home. This is the perfect place to stop if you are visiting snowden and want drinks, cake, information or a chat. Thank you Stefan and we will definately be back again.

Breaktimes Cafe

Porthmadog West, Gwynedd
02/01/2018: We visit here quite often. Took grand children for a hearty breakfast before going up Snowdon. When asked what was the best thing about the day our 9 year old grandsons reply BREAKFAST!!
08/12/2017: Stopped at the cafe as our hotel we stayed it round the corner didnt provide a hot breakfast. Didnt accept card payments and we had no cash on us so luckily one of the staff let me put the money for our food via his personal paypal. This was much appreciated as we had to leave quick to our zip wire experiance. Cafe nice and clean, food ok. Thanks again

On the Hill

Ruthin, Denbighshire
12/01/2018: We were taken to this restaurant by friends who live in the vicinity and who had been before. From the outside it looked like a very small place but it really is a Tardis with an upstairs as well. A very interesting menu with lots of variety and a good Gin menu to go with it. The food and service were excellent and we had a most enjoyable evening. We would recommend this restaurant most highly.
11/01/2018: Best restaurant I have visited in north Wales in some time! Second time I have been back there (would love to visit more) in order to sample the lunch menu this time (3 courses for £20). Very tasty food and incredibly friendly service! If you’re in the area definitely visit. It’s quite challenging to book a table but get yourself in there and you won’t be disappointed. Enjoy

Salt Marsh Kitchen

Tywyn, Gwynedd
12/01/2018: Salt Marsh Cafe Bar. Really chilled atmosphere in a lovely relaxing environment. Really tasty food, mainly homemade pizza and burgers. The onion rings are legendary! Staff are brilliant- well worth a visit if you are local or passing. Thanks for a great evening!
30/12/2017: Stopped for lunch on a quiet Tuesday. Just the two girls working one in the kitchen one serving... Which didnt stop them being great ... The food was very good we all had something different and all the plates were left clean. We had lunch in a couple a few places over our week stay but this was by far the best just wish we had come back. Instead of being left dissapointed in some of the others...

Seiont, Gwynedd
03/01/2018: Well presented, tasty food for adults and kids. Ideal for a family lunch. Good selection of pancakes and ice cream. Good coffee served with a delicious biscuit. Very friendly and efficient staff. Young children welcome. Dining area on the small side which makes for a friendly and social meal.

The Crown

Aberffraw,Rhosneigr, Isle of Anglesey, >100£
15/01/2018: 4 of us had a bracing walk and by chance discovered The Crown. We were given a warm welcome, blazing coal fire and the best roast pork at an excellent price. Do go you will be happy with your choice .
04/01/2018: A group of us visited for a Christmas meal. The service is very friendly and polite, along with very fair prices. The food (courtesy of Gavin the chef) is absolutely fantastic. A wide variety of dishes, brilliantly prepared and presented in man size portions.Vast gin selection behind the bar and select craft ales.A must visit when on Anglesey.

Tafarn y Gader Tapas, Bistro & Bar

Dolgellau North, Gwynedd
04/01/2018: Working in the area, we were recommended by locals to eat here, and we certainly were not disappointed! We work away from home nationwide, eating out a lot, and never have I ever had a Sunday carvery as good as this! Seriously.... everything is cooked to absolute perfection! The meat is beautifully cooked (especially the lamb), and the portions are huge! The vegetable choice is amazing, with many varieties of each.... and as many pigs in blankets as you can eat! Oh, and not forgetting a different gravy for every meat! This is the first time that I couldn’t eat it all, as there was so much choice (and I’m fond of my food haha). The staff were amazing, as was the atmosphere! Twice we’ve had Sunday lunch here, & I can’t wait to try their tapas next time!VERY highly recommended!
29/12/2017: We enjoyed our visit to the tapas bar and appreciated their letting us sit down for a meal despite being very busy. Unfortunately, we were given a time limit for how long they could allow us to have a table (we would have liked to stay longer) but this was made clear up front so we felt it was reasonable. The food was great, as was the service. We appreciated that they served us quickly (both taking our order and bringing our food) given that we did have limited time. I would recommend it.

Moorings Bistro

Porthmadog West, Gwynedd
04/01/2018: We recently were fortunate enough to welcome in the New Year here. It is undoubtedly intimate (approximately 20 covers) and no stone was left unturned in their desire to give us all a special occasion to remember. It was a set menu, with only limited choices, but everything was prepared and presented to the very highest standard. The staff could have done no more to make the evening go ‘with a swing’ and we would love to return. This establishment deserves to be supported.
30/12/2017: We’ve tried to get a table at The Moorings for over a year but they’ve always been fully-booked. Well! Tonight has more than proven to us why. I had one of the Bistro’s specialities the Tagine, it was so flavoursome and packed with juicy pieces of Beef, I had a side dish of Rice and cashew nuts that was also a delicious combination. My partner had the steak with the blue cheese sauce and he was pleased. The cocktails were awesome and it was a great choice! We will be back and we will be sure to book in advance next time!! Thank you!

Carlo's Restaurant

Craig-y-Don, Conwy
31/12/2017: Lovely Italian restaurant, great food, staff and atmosphere. Worth a visit if you are in the area. Good wine list. Food was nice and hot.

Poachers Restaurant

Criccieth, Gwynedd, 30-45£
06/01/2018: This place was recommended to me so I have to thank them for that. Fantastic place to eat, delicious food very well presented and served with a big smile. That always makes the difference!!!!Thanks.
28/10/2017: We chose Poachers because of all the excellent reviews and we weren't disappointed. A very good choice of dishes. The lamb was beautiful and one of the best lamb dishes I've eaten in a restaurant. Staff were friendly and helpful. We will definitely return when next staying in the area.

Llindir Inn

Denbigh Upper/Henllan, Denbighshire, 20-30£
28/12/2017: Like the phoenix, the Llindir has arisen from the ashes of dismally poor running thanks to the efforts of Owen and his colleagues. Now a really first class pub with truly excellent restaurant food, this is one not to miss.Reasonable pricing with a good range of draught beers on tap, it's the one.As you get out what you put in, these guys really go the extra mile. Don't miss it!Suggest the fillet steak, it's pretty special.
27/11/2017: Had heard on the Denbighshire grapevine that the Llindir was serving up excellent Sunday lunch, and were not disappointed. The service, food and surroundings were first class. It reminded us very much of the old Llindir from 30 years ago. Keep up the good work Owen and all his team

Restaurant at the Hotel Portmeirion

Penrhyndeudraeth, Gwynedd, >100£
13/01/2018: advised before visiting that my husband was a vegan and was presented with a fantastic vegan menu with multiple choices for all three courses, was under the impression that nothing was too much trouble for the team, and the atmosphere was lovely and relaxed
09/01/2018: The food was cooked and served with love and pride. The dishes were superb and faultless on every occasion that we ate there in the time we spent holidaying in the village. Well done to chef and staff.

Sosban and The Old Butchers Restaurant

Cadnant, Isle of Anglesey
27/12/2017: We have eaten here a couple of times and have always been very impressed. The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable about the food they serve and the drinks that are available. It is a very quirky restaurant, intimate and rustic, and quite a remarkable place. Book plenty in advance as this is a very popular place and rightly so, can’t wait to go again.
08/12/2017: Had waited many months to visit and were very excited. We were not to be disappointed and the experience exceeded our expectations. The welcome was warm and the service friendly and informative about the different courses. There was a good drinks menu and wines were good values. The food was delicious with intriguing taste combinations. Well with the wait!

15/01/2018: Dropped in for lunch on the weekend and was surprised by the choice of menu!Great breakfast & lunch selection, lots of coffee/tea choices and best of all, multiple gluten free cake to choose from!I had the orange pistachio and carrot cake which was amazing.Good prices and service.
12/01/2018: Popped in mainly because it was raining, but also because the building it is in is rather attractive. My partner and I had coffee and cake brought to us at the table by a friendly waitress and both the coffee and cake were very good!
