Penceunant Isaf Tea Rooms

Llanberis, Gwynedd
28/11/2018: Honestly - this was exactly what we needed after a very satisfying yet exhausting hike up and down Mount Snowdon! My best friend and I got back a little later than most, but this place was still open, and felt like a huge hug! Stefan was as wonderful as the much-needed cake and tea! He and his friends (who had come round to have dinner with him) were incredibly friendly, chatty and engaging. Stefan definitely caters for all kinds of guest as well, so whatever your background, age, race, religion, etc, he has the necessary knowledge and facilities to accommodate! Oh, and the fire - well, it's just perfect.
20/11/2018: What a welcoming place for a beer after climbing Snowdon. Stefan is the host here. Really nice fella serving fab local ales. Highly recommended

On the Hill

Bistro Bermo

Abermaw, Gwynedd, 20-30£
25/11/2018: This restaurant is a must honestly the food and service is first class, we had pate for starters which was the best I’ve ever tasted in my life so creamy and Tasty. For the mains the fillet steak was cooked perfect and trimmings were just as nice.. A good selection of wines as well .. The owners are very welcoming, can’t wait to book
24/11/2018: We came on a chilly November evening. The food was delicious and generous. Everything that has been said by previous reviewers about the perfection of this restaurant is true. It was a privilege to eat here.

Carlo's Restaurant

Craig-y-Don, Conwy
13/12/2018: asked for chef's special dish on his own and he made a fabulous did with mixer of chicken and lamp. Thanks to the manager.
09/12/2018: It was our girls Christmas Meal. My cod with Mediterranean vegetables was absolutely lovely - fresh and light! Fruit creme brûlée was also light and delicious The young waiting on staff were very well trained and personable. Lovely atmosphere with the owner watching over carefully!

Seiont, Gwynedd
16/11/2018: After visiting the castle, we called into Scoops as we had two little girls with us that needed ice-cream! The selection proved a bit overwhelming (for the grown ups too!) but service was great, coffee was good ....... though the unicorn ice-cream wasn't the hit we thought it would be ...... that's 5 year olds for you huh?!
15/11/2018: This was my first visit to Scoops and despite having heard great things about it and living in Caernarfon, I realised I had walked past it many times without even noticing it!

Y Sgwar

Porthmadog-Tremadog, Gwynedd
24/11/2018: Not been for a while but as usual it didn’t disappoint!! Food and service excellent as always!! Keep up the good work guys x
16/11/2018: The food, atmosphere and welcome here is always fantastic. This is the restaurant I go to for those special occasions and I'm never disappointed.

Wavecrest Cafe

Llanfaethlu, Isle of Anglesey, >100£
07/11/2018: Great cafe right by the sea we love it here the hot chocolate is so sweet for children our son really enjoyed it also do the biggest scones we have ever seen! Lovely place in church bay nothing else like it in the area, can’t wait to go back and to sit in the tea garden over looking the sea ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
01/11/2018: What a lovely find in a great setting in Church Bay. The homemade cakes were scrumptious and everything was reasonably priced. Definitely recommend a visit, especially if the weather is good (outside seating only).

The Goat Inn

Dolbenmaen, Gwynedd, 20-30£
02/12/2018: Attended on 30th November and experienced. Truly wonderful Christmas meal with my wife and two friends. Had the full 4 course meal and I can say it wAs the finest Christmas dinner I have every enjoyed outside my own home.
28/11/2018: We wanted to go last Monday for hubby’s birthday but it’s closed on Mondays so please note. So we went Wednesday. I had the prawn cocktail to started had I realised how large it was I would not have ordered a main course, it was WELL worth the money. Hubby had whitebait and half duck nd I had the chicken in white wine and mushrooms from the specials. We both struggled to eat everything. The staff were friendly and in fact one of the waiters family came from the next estate where we live. Bearing in mind we were on holiday from the Black Country.

Breaktimes Cafe

Porthmadog West, Gwynedd
27/11/2018: Hubby and me decided to have an early lunch here today (Tuesday). We parked for free on the industrial estate. The weather was wild (cold/wet/windy) but it was warm and welcoming inside this Cafe which is a family-run business. We chose a small table for 2. I went to the counter (where you help yourself to sauce sachets) and placed our order which totalled £12.50 (a fair price). I was able to pay by card (contactless) which was much more convenient than the last time we visited when they only accepted cash payments. We enjoyed our big mugs of tea (free refills) whilst we waited for our food to be freshly cooked. The chef was also busy preparing takeaway orders.
24/11/2018: What a gem of a place, very friendly staff and excellent service. What good value too, you can have a range of breakfasts up until 2pm, or free refills of tea and coffee

Amelies Cafe Restaurant

Conwy, Conwy
18/11/2018: We didn't really know what we fancied for Sunday lunch so wandered round Conwy til we stumbled on Amelies and we're glad we did.
14/11/2018: Went there and had the quiche which was very good. The ambiance and decor is great.

The Rabbit Hole

Mostyn, Conwy, <20£
12/12/2018: This is a lovely initiative in Llandudno and a great cafe experience. Plenty of vegan options available. The service is great and the food is good. Several good vegan options available on the menu and the prices are really reasonable. It’s a nice atmosphere and very clean.
08/12/2018: Went for breakfast today. Ordered the full English and the smashed Avacado with poached egg. It's a social enterprise offering work opportunities for people who are dealing with mental health issues. The staff were great and it's a really nice cafe. The full English looked lovely but strangely came on the toast which meant you had to take everything off to then butter the toast. Would be better to have the toast on the side. The butter portions were straight out of the fridge as well so too hard to butter. The bacon looked as though it was done in the oven and the fat wasn't crispy and cooked through which was a shame as all the ingredients were really high quality. The Avacado on toast was lovely but would have liked 2 poached eggs rather than one. The cherry tomatoes were tasty. Over all it was a nice breakfast and great to support a social enterprise.

W. T. Roberts Bakery

Beaumaris, Isle of Anglesey
10/12/2018: Visited again during our annual visit to Beaumaris and quality and value for money remains top class. Staff even remembered my postage stamp event last December and we'd remembered the excellent cakes, bread and pies to be found here which is a clear indication the continuing success of this local business.
27/11/2018: Hidden a few streets back from the sea front, this bakery supplies bread to all the best places in town. Get there early to stock up on sandwiches, pasties, pies etc. Ideal for a seaside picnic.

Salt Marsh Kitchen

Tywyn, Gwynedd
05/11/2018: We visited Salt Marsh last Saturday and had a great meal in a relached athmosphere. We were a group of 5 and we all had different dishes and they were all of great quality and well presented.
21/10/2018: Had a really nice meal out with my husband. The staff were really friendly and the whole place had a great atmosphere.

09/12/2018: welcomed by host, Helen, when we arrived with a very warm welcome, shown to room which was large double with a sea view on the front of the building, room very cosy and had a lovely feel to it, large bathroom with shower.

Characters Old Curiosity Shop & Sandwich House

Gogarth, Conwy, 20-30£
09/12/2018: Just a great place to have a meal. Loving the Alice in Wonderland atmosphere of all the glasses and crockery not matching. The host is so welcoming and the staff Brilliant. Great steaks and the stone cooking makes it really different. Fab cheese board. Love it, we will be back
27/11/2018: Why do people need to make reviews personal when surely the name Characters says everything.
