Penceunant Isaf Tea Rooms

Llanberis, Gwynedd
21/07/2019: A family of 2 exhausted adults, a 12-year old and a dog stumbled on this hidden gem when walking down from Snowdon and we felt we had won the lottery. The dog was offered water and dog biscuits and the humans were given basins of warm water in which to relieve achey feet. Steffan was really friendly and chatty and ordered a taxi for us, which took us back to our campsite.
19/07/2019: Came off the Llanberis path a little wet and tired, just dropped in as we walked past. What a find! The hosts are so friendly, have a great sense of humour, making you feel at home and relaxed very quickly. The Bara Brith and Welsh cakes are to die for !

Bistro Bermo

Abermaw, Gwynedd, 20-30£
17/07/2019: We were recommended here by a local. Firstly you must book here in advance as with all barmouth restaurants. You cannot walk into any barmouth restaurant expecting to get a table on demand. Ring the bermo and leave your message and they will return your call.
14/07/2019: We always make a beeline for this restaurant when visiting Barmouth. The food is always tasty and of good quality. Husband and wife team, he is the chief and his wife front of house. You are always made very welcome and the service is first class to match the food, also good choice of wines etc. Cannot wait to return. Advisable to book as very popular.

No. 46 Coffee Shop

Criccieth, Gwynedd
20/07/2019: A good family seaside day out made better by an open and welcoming coffee shop. Table for four adults and a child; high chair provided we ordered sandwiches and drinks. some great stuff on the menu. Can’t recommend enough the egg & cress, cheese & pickle sandwiches. Definitely worth a visit if your in Criccieth.
20/07/2019: In search of a good cream tea in Criccieth, we tried two other establishments, but neither of them use clotted cream (essential for a proper cream tea). But then we found No 46, on the main street through town. The scones were perfect, as was the jam and clotted cream - the best cream tea we'd had for years.

Salt Marsh Kitchen

Tywyn, Gwynedd
21/07/2019: Absolutely fantastic meal at the Salt marsh Kitchen. The quality of food and service is exceptional. Would definitely recommend going there if you ever visit Tywyn or the surrounding area.
18/07/2019: Beautifully cooked locally sourced and tasty. We had paella the best we have ever had in Spain or Portugal. Excellent service and friendly staff. A welcome break from the appalling food we have had elsewhere on the coast nearby.

On the Hill

Ruthin, Denbighshire
21/07/2019: Very busy and our table was rather squashed, but good service with pleasant staff. Food was nice but they forgot my chips and I was halfway through my meal when they arrived. Otherwise a good experience
17/07/2019: Visited here after reading all the good reviews on trip advisor. It did not disappoint, the staff were super friendly and accommodating. Loved the complimentary nachos, very tasty. Food was good, had the fish market and duo of beef.

Y Sgwar

Porthmadog-Tremadog, Gwynedd
22/07/2019: we were late for our table (due to a broken down steam train !) but still received a very warm welcome. Our food was perfectly cooked, beautifully presented and served with a smile.
21/07/2019: We was recommended to this place by friends who live in Porthmadog and it didn’t disappoint.

Carlo's Restaurant

Craig-y-Don, Conwy
21/07/2019: Went here on the 18th of July. Our meal was good and tasty, until near the end of our evening, we were deciding weather to have a dessert and a coffee I asked if they had a down stairs toilet the only toilet was up a steep flight of stairs. I asked if they had a downstairs disabled toilet was told no. I pointed out that I have a mobility problem this received a shrug of the shoulders. we then asked for the bill this was paid, and we were asked if we enjoyed our meal we said yes apart from the fact of no disabled toilet there was a further shrug of the shoulders after we pointed out this is the 21st century. We were advised to ask before we book in future . I think they should put a sign up say not disabled friendly. or put in a down stairs toilet.
07/07/2019: We enjoyed our meal at Carlo’s. Everything was wonderfully prepared. My fillet came up a bit too well done for my taste but they replaced it with one that was sheer perfection.

Yr Hen Fecws Restaurant

Porthmadog West, Gwynedd, 30-45£
21/07/2019: Spending a few days in Wales we came across this restaurant by accident and how pleased we were. The staff were welcoming and attentive and more than happy to adjust the menu choices to meet my gluten free needs. Infact we were so pleased by the quality of the food and its presentation we booked again for the following night!
18/07/2019: A simple restaurant serving good food at usual prices. Very pleasant service and a nice gentle atmosphere.

The Looking Glass Ice Cream Parlour

Gogarth, Conwy
08/07/2019: Me and my family always come to the best ice cream place in Llandudno when we visit. And we always make multiple trips. Amazing ice cream.
02/07/2019: Went here with family (adults and children) and it is definitely a place to visit! When we went it was quite busy so we was in the que for at least 10 minutes! But this gave us plenty of time to look at the board and all the items you could get. I had the crepe with 2scoops of ice cream, brownies and marshmallows with toffee sauce & a latte (& a cappuccino for my gran costing £11.20 ...... it was worth the wait!!!! It definitely welcomes families. They have board games available too to pass time and keep little ones entertained. Loved all the Alice in wonder land deco and wall quotes ! Didn’t use the loos so can’t comment there. Staff were friendly and patient, especially when children indecisive at which ice cream to choose! Really lovely place to visit.

Llandrillo yn Rhos, Conwy, <20£
14/07/2019: Lovely home made cake,. Victoria sponge especially good. Friendly, reasonable prices, much better than the big chains. Will visit again when in the area.
08/07/2019: This cafe is local to us but having passed it numerous times our visit was, I suspect, overdue. We only popped in for a cuppa and cake but were very pleased with the food, service and premises. There seemed to be available a wide range of cakes (I opted for the Guinness and ginger - what's not to like?!). The snacks and meals included in the menu piqued our interest and we're likely to return, to try them. We used the WC facilities, something whose standard other reviewers have commented on, during our visit. We're sure the business would improve them, but it is clearly hampered by the modest premises in which they operate.

Coastal Cafe

Moelfre, Isle of Anglesey
21/07/2019: Having visited this place many times over the years we were sadly disappointed both with the service and the quality of food. It was a fantastic chippy but standards have certainly slipped. Sadly it took over 45 minutes for an order for 4 people and the chips were served barely cooked. They were pale and greasy and some were hard, so much so that we binned our order and opted to get food elsewhere.
19/07/2019: Great fresh well cooked food we were a family of 6 and all enjoyed our meals be warned large portions.

Dolgellau North, Gwynedd
19/07/2019: Just dropped in for a coffee. Amazing place looks like an old fashioned shop inside. The cakes look fantastic though I didn’t have one. (On a diet). The coffee was perfect and the staff were really nice. The breakfast menu looks good as well. Certainly come back again.
17/07/2019: Not much to say about this really other than WOW The best selection and quality of cakes anywhere ever and great coffee too !!

The Goat Inn

Dolbenmaen, Gwynedd, 20-30£
13/07/2019: Cadre agréable, joliment décoré. Cuisine excellente, plats goûteux de très grande qualité et une présentation soignée. Service impeccable, personnel agréable et professionnel. Tout pour passer une très bonne soirée. Je recommande.
13/07/2019: Went to this lovely pub and the meals were exceptional. We were charged for an item that we hadn’t had but this was quickly corrected when we pointed it out. The place is a little gem.

Amelies Cafe Restaurant

Conwy, Conwy
18/07/2019: I always go to Amelie's when I visit Conwy! Best place for tea and cake, the staff are lovely and the restaurant itself is so pretty and certainly Instagrammable! It has that little French bistro feel to it and is so warm and inviting.
14/07/2019: Popped in here after a walk around lovely Conwy. I ordered halloumi burger and to be honest I was expecting the same as I get in most places, a couple of slices grilled halloumi in a bap. I couldn’t be more wrong. The best burger I have ever tasted was put in front of me. I had to share some with others in my party as I kept raving about it. I asked for the recipe and they kindly gave it to me. I came back from my holiday in North Wales and the first meal I made - the burger. Thank you for being so generous and sharing the recipe.

Seiont, Gwynedd
21/07/2019: Both ourselves and our dogs were made to feel very welcome; nothing was too much trouble. Food: Wow! Doggie treats: Scoffed!, Customer service: Excellent & Coffee: Beautiful! - A rich roast, bursting with a gentle flavour & aroma. The staff were excellent ambassadors for Scoops, answering all our questions with no rushing and patience. Thank you for serving the nicest food and coffee we've had on holiday & caring!
20/07/2019: Lovely place to visit. Has a range of delightful savoury and sweet pancakes. Plus a wide range of shop made ice creams plus a few you may not have tasted before!! Coffee was great too.
