Agnelli's espresso bar and deli

Aberystwyth Canol/Central, Ceredigion
28/05/2019: The smell of real coffee hits you when you walk into this cosy authentic Italian cafe / bistro -so much has been packed into the small inviting street level room - shelves of delicious and pretty packets/jars of mainly Italian foods and bottles of interesting drinks- you could make a beautiful original hamper for someone as a gift or infact treat yourself - there are tempting fresh pastries, cheeses and salami displayed the front counter. We just had coffee and a long chat - but I noticed there were regulars here having a Saturday morning treat and catch up - families with young ones , older couples and groups of friends - this place is suitable for all and there is plenty of room downstairs too - Loved it - it has so much personality
15/05/2019: Me and my partner went for our anniversary dinner and it was amazing. Went not knowing what was on the menu and we weren’t disappointed. Huge selection of starters and sharing platters, we shared a small meat and cheese platter and it was definitely enough for us. The mushrooms with bacon were definitely a highlight, and the crusty bread complimented everything. We then ordered a lasagna and Tuscan chicken skewers with Italian sausage and potatoes. The lasagna was proper Italian homemade style and tasted amazing, and the chicken and sausages were cooked to perfection. The waitress and chef/owner(?) were brilliant, couldn’t have done more for us. We took two cannolis home for dessert and they were perfect. Brilliant place for any size party as there is seating downstairs which not everyone knows. Perfect evening for us and much better than the other Italian establishment in Aberystwyth we visited in March on North Parade.

Creme Pen Cei

New Quay, Ceredigion, <20£
07/06/2019: Have had many ice creams here over the last 2 years while on holiday and they are the best we have had !! Favourite one for us is the unicorn ice cream ,would recommend to everyone x
05/06/2019: We were magnatised to this AMAZING gelato shop after collecting boat tickets.

Aberystwyth Canol/Central, Ceredigion
02/06/2019: On the night we were there, Joe (the owner) was the greeter, server, and cook. He is a highly educated fellow who apparently likes cooking more than his previous profession, but that is a long story. The food is wonderful, tasty without being over spicy.
30/05/2019: Lovely staff, chef was very attentive and passionate about the food he served.

Red Lion Inn

Old Radnor, Powys, 20-30£
29/05/2019: Lovely friendly staff, clean pub/restaurant. Nice menu choice and tasty food, generous portions. Children's menu was nice, not just the standard nuggets.
27/05/2019: This is probably one of the best places to get decent food in the area. We ordered some burgers and a steak and they were good. The burgers seemed to be from better cuts of beef, while the lamb burger was very tender. The sirloin steak seemed pretty decent too. We also ordered the sticky pudding and apple pie which were good as well. The staff were friendly and very welcoming, so definitely will come again.

The Triangle Inn

Rhayader, Powys
05/06/2019: Our experience of the Triangle goes back over a dozen years. We have never had a bad experience there even through changes of ownership. The pub is tiny, the toilets are across the lane, don't bring a cat to swing! Do bring an apetite. Excellent home type cooking, lamb shank, duck and beetroot tart appear to be best sellers as well, of course, as fish and chips. Nice people, friendly place, tables outside for summer evenings, and carry outs available.
02/06/2019: Had a fabulous meal in the Triangle inn. Great value and portions were excellent. Staff and locals were extremely friendly. Pub is quite small inside so reserving a table is a must. Definitely recommend.

Aberystwyth Canol/Central, Ceredigion
06/06/2019: Friendly staff, good menu. Ideal location. Outside seating as well. Eco friendly, does free water refills. Good breakfasts including vegetarian option.
28/05/2019: My partner and I were visiting for the day and we saw this spot while walking about. The staff at Sophie‘s were very nice and accommodating. We both had the Club sandwiches with a side of chips. They were both very tasty. Apparently they have a great breakfast as well. We will check that out next time we visit. I would recommend

Restaurant at Ynyshir Hall

Ceulanamaesmawr, Ceredigion, 60-100£
02/06/2019: Gareth is a giant of a man but his vision and talent in the kitchen are even bigger than he is. We loved every minute of our Ynyshir experience, dining out will never be the same again. Breakfast the following morning is Michelin star worthy in its own right.
01/06/2019: This was the first time of experiencing Ynyshir and my wife and I were completely blown away by the whole experience.

Little Italy

Aberystwyth Canol/Central, Ceredigion, 20-30£
10/06/2019: This is a great place for an Italian meal. The food is fantastic and the service is very friendly indeed. The waitress we had on both occasions we’ve been was really helpful and nothing was any trouble at all for her. Everything is really fresh and there is plenty to eat but what you can’t you can always take away.
03/06/2019: I was pleasantly surprised at the good restaurants in this relatively small town (I am also thinking of the Casablanca). Incredible service and food. It is a popular place because it does the job.

The Old Barn Tea Room

Talybont-on-Usk, Powys
01/06/2019: Brilliant service , topped it off by having no fruit in a scone amazing !! Incredible surroundings and gardens Remember to take cash as no WiFi and no card payment available Loved it 👍
28/05/2019: What a fabulous find on our way through the national park... afternoon tea sat in the beautiful gardens watching squirrels, pigeons, chaffinches, great tits and bumble bees busying themselves. Thank you! Delicious Welsh cakes and fruit scones too! 😊

The Cellar

Aberaeron, Ceredigion
17/06/2019: We had a very pleasant evening in The Cellar. My asparagus starter was fresh and good, and the summer risotto was delicious. My husband enjoyed his burger. The service was friendly and efficient and we enjoyed the whole experience.
17/06/2019: Excellent quality, standard and presentation - you get what you pay for! Staff were friendly, welcoming and professional.

The Lime Crab

New Quay, Ceredigion
18/06/2019: Not happy with the chips found two hairs in them. They were also undercooked. My friend found a piece of string in hers.
18/06/2019: I am extremely disappointed with the lime crab chips I had today: the chips were uncooked, and I found a piece of string in with them! I have previously had lime crab fish and chips many times which were fabulous but they have definitely gotten worse.

Latte-da Tearoom

Crickhowell,Llangattock, Powys, <20£
14/06/2019: I asked for for a Posh Breakfast and got it..... my 4th time back and certainly not my last. The quality of the food, presentation and staff are faultless. The menu allows healthy choices, so waist line does not have to suffer for the palettes's pleasure. Prices at top end but worth the treat.
09/06/2019: We had lunch here while visiting Crickhowell. It was very busy but we managed to get a table as someone left. I had the Welsh rarebit which I loved, so tasty. My husband had the avocado mash with roasted tomatoes which was a bit bland but still quite nice.

The Shoe Makers Arms

Maescar/Llywel, Powys, <20£
07/06/2019: Pretty country setting. Have been a few times now and service always excellent and very welcoming with great pub food.
05/06/2019: A very welcoming establishment employing one gentleman on quieter days to cater for any customers - local or passing trade. You would think that service would be hampered by one member of staff but this gentleman ran the pub like clockwork and from serving drinks to cooking meals everything was served efficiently and with a warm welcome.

Sugar and Spice

Llandrindod East/Llandrindod West, Powys, <20£
13/06/2019: We were travelling north on a very wet day, and arrived in need of lunch. This was a place certainly to our liking and we were not disappointed by what we had to eat. Thank you for sending us on our way happily....a nice memory.
28/04/2019: Visited on a Caribbean Saturday. Food was absolutely delicious with very generous portions and excellent value. We still managed to squeeze in a pudding though! The atmosphere was very relaxed and the owners were very attentive. My wife is is coeliac vegetarian and we were really grateful to the effort they made to accommodate her. Wished we lived a bit closer than 3 hours away!

New Inn

Bwlch, Powys
28/05/2019: We visited the New Inn for Sunday lunch. It was a lovely homemade meal which we all enjoyed, followed by a delicious homemade dessert. The landlord and partner were consummate hosts who made us all feel very welcome in a cosy must visit pub.
20/05/2019: Opposite Star Bunkhouse. Proper food and drink and good place to relax after a day out. Muddy Boots , Dogs and Children all welcome. Local cider at £3 well worth trying together will a good choice of local real ale.
