Tomatitos Tapas Bar

Hay, Powys
12/12/2018: This is an excellent tapas place, what more can I say! I’ve been fortunate to eat tapas all over Spain and this joint is the best interpretation of it I’ve had in the UK. The fried fish with garlic & parsley sauce (mojo verde), lightly battered fish pieces served with pungent, green dip was particularly delicious. As was the pork, prune and almond casserole. For those that like something with a kick try the patatas bravas, chunks of fried potato covered in a rich spicy tomato sauce. I’ll be back.
28/11/2018: Thank you so much for a great evening! We came on our honeymoon for a meal- it exceeded all expectations- beautiful ambience, friendly staff and exquisite home made food. We want to come back every night! X

Aberystwyth Canol/Central, Ceredigion
02/12/2018: Hadn’t been to this restaurant for probably about 18 years, however absolutely nothing has changed. Not the decor, not the menu and possibly not even the prices.
02/12/2018: Well what can I say, another amazing meal with Jo and his team, he fitted us in and we feasted on great starters and such flavoursome mains mussles and prawn stater and a fish and lamb tagine, beautiful food thank you X

Bara Menyn Bakehouse & Cafe

Aberteifi/Cardigan-Teifi, Ceredigion
11/12/2018: Gorgeous little vegetarian restaurant with a beautiful walled garden, perfect for al fresco lunches. The food is a bit pricey but yummy so well worth it. Local ingredients and large portions.
03/11/2018: Been visiting here for several years and it just never disappoints. Simply the best bread I've had anywhere. Great little cafe for brunch, lunch or a coffee and cake. I love introducing visiting friends and family to this place. It's a real gem!

The Daffodil Inn

Llandyfriog, Ceredigion
01/12/2018: Friendly, warm, inviting on arrival. Very good food, good portion size. Our dogs were given blankets to lie on and biscuits, nice touch. Being new to the area this is what we’ve been looking for - our new local I think. Sue & Simon
24/11/2018: Lovely surroundings, friendly and efficient service. Food good quality and well presented. Good value. Could have done with longer breaks between courses but otherwise very enjoyable.

Little Italy

Aberystwyth Canol/Central, Ceredigion, 20-30£
10/11/2018: Visited on a Friday night without a booking. Service was friendly and the pizza authentic and thin crusted. Olives were good. Had never been to this restaurant before when I lived in the town but can see why it's been around for a very long time. Would recommend based on what we had.
06/11/2018: Good menu and good food. Service excellent and a nice ambiance for such a restaurant. A few steps down to entrance; small eating area at that level. Main area up stairs.

03/12/2018: Love this place for the takeaway tortilla baguette, super value. The lunch menu is also good value. Evening menu is more expensive but nice for a treat.
03/12/2018: A lovely place with great atmosphere, just a shame they don't take dogs. The sea water beer is amazing!

Food For Thought

Aberteifi/Cardigan-Rhyd-y-Fuwch, Ceredigion
07/12/2018: Wow - happened to walk by on a windy wet freezing day. We were so well looked after even though we were a large group with 3 coeliacs. Food was lovely and reasonably priced. Staff were clued up on gluten free and so helpful- definitely recommended!
05/12/2018: Love food for thought, have been coming here since I was a little girl (was a different name then) the staff are always lovely and helpful, the food is always prompt and tasty. Clean, spacious but cosy restaurant that I visit often with my son, partner and friends. Very well priced too!

Oriel Tir A Mor Gallery

Borth, Ceredigion
12/11/2018: We visited Borth as we was driving around one day and found this place. We both fancied a coffee and fortunately this place was open as everywhere else was closed. To be fair it was the beginning of November and we know a lot of seaside places close for the winter. However we was greeted with a smile and was told straight away they'd finished cooking but could do a sandwich . We had a couple of coffees and a sandwich. Really tasty sandwich, and good coffee. We started talking to the owner who is so friendly, it's a family business and they obviously all work hard for tourists and locals. Lovely place, so pleased we stopped by.
29/10/2018: Top quality food lovely atmosphere friendly staff with s second to none service well worth a visit we have been on s number of occasions now and can’t fault this place they even welcome our dog

The Nags Head Inn

Berriew, Powys, 30-45£
15/12/2018: Me and my partner came (after coming many years ago) for a little Christmas dinner date. It was more perfect than we remembered it to be! The staff were attentive but not intrusive. The atmosphere is very romantic, the decoration is beautiful and tasteful. Our food was gorgeous! Would 1000% recommend. I know we’ll be back soon!
15/12/2018: Visited with my partner for a romantic evening dinner, and were very pleased. We booked in advance for the Christmas Fayre Menu, and they were very accommodating when paying the deposit. We were seated immediately, by friendly and pleasant staff. We decided to chose two different starters to share, the Ham Hock and the Salmon which were both tasty. We did however prefer the others persons, which was amusing to both us and the staff. For mains we chose the Beef and the Duck, which were both absolutely delicious. The duck was melt in the mouth perfection, and the beef fell apart at the fork. All the accompanying veg and sauces were also wonderful. Pudding again was fantastic, we thoroughly recommend the Clementine Posset, and the Brownie. The staff were professional, and the service was exactly what you would want, perfectly timed, with food arriving promptly, it all felt like a well oiled machine. Very pleased, and well recommended. Best dinner out for a while!

Aberaeron, Ceredigion, <20£
18/12/2018: Have had a property in Aberaeron for over 50 years and the Harbourmaster has been a good place to eat and drink at all times of the various seasons. Naturally in the Summer months there is a big influx of people visiting, so it pays tpo book well in advance to get your table. Good steaks and varied menu.
16/12/2018: We decided to visit whilst enjoying a few nights away in October. Firstly, you need to book...and even if you have to wait for a table it will definitely be worth it. Friendly staff, lovely atmosphere and incredibly tasty, well presented food. Ardderchog, diolch o galon.

The Horse and Jockey Inn

Knighton, Powys
26/11/2018: Great open fire in the snug bar. Food in restaurant was good quality. Service great. Pool table in main bar. Best pub we found in Knighton.
20/11/2018: This was our second visit and were again made to feel very welcome. So much so that we will now (hopefully) become ‘locals’. So nice to have a fab pub with top quality food and friendliness on your doorstep - a deciding factor in us buying a home in Knighton. Thank you!

Mirrens Tapas and Steak Bar

Newtown East, Powys, 20-30£
11/11/2018: The best roast dinner I’ve eaten in mid-wales! Superb food and great value for money, the elderflower cheesecake is a must!!!!!
03/11/2018: We came here in September for the third time, although this is my first review. Really got the impression of a place committed to excellence and striving to serve imaginative, high-quality food and drink. Best restaurant in Newtown, definitely. We really enjoyed the food, and it wasn't excessively expensive either. Great selection of drinks too. We'll definitely be back!
