Bosun's Locker

New Quay, Ceredigion
09/11/2018: We have stopped by before going home back to Cheshire. We arrived a bit before opening but were seated by the most welcoming couple. Our 2 doggies were spoilt with some sausages and our breakfast was the best I’ve had. I was absolutely devastated by the fact they are retiring. The food was generous, the black pudding is to die for and the service is outstanding. We are 3 hours away, but need to go back before they retire. A true, welcoming, genuine dining experience. Don’t forget to get some cakes. Wishing you all the best and enjoy your well deserved retirement :)
01/11/2018: Good food and pleasant owners/chef who make a visit enjoyable. I had a bacon sandwich, salad for my wife which was generous. Kids happy too. Wanted to try the quiche and sausage rolls that were v tempting! Deserts look great too.

Aberystwyth Rheidol, Ceredigion, <20£
01/11/2018: We went here for a meal with some friends and it did not disappoint. It is much smaller than we expected inside, only room for about 12 people in total so I'm definitely glad we booked. The food was delicious and cooked to perfection and the service was very friendly. The only slight draw back is that the only toilets are the public ones which you have to go back outside to get to.
31/10/2018: This is a small restaurant on the quay at Aberystwyth. From the moment you entered this establishment you felt relaxed and new that the service and quality of food would be good, I was wrong both service and food was excellent ( even for a non fishy person as myself)

Creme Pen Cei

New Quay, Ceredigion, <20£
17/08/2018: Always a first stop when in new quay plenty of selection very reasonable in price and always helpful.
15/08/2018: This really is ice cream heaven! There really is every possible flavour on offer from your ordinary vanilla to the more obscure Jaffa cake, Rolo or Kinder Bueno... they also have gluten/ dairy free choices.. Small or large cones available (plain/chocolate/honeycomb/sprinkle covered) and the scoop sizes are really very generous... come with an empty stomach!! We travel 20 mins to get here and it’s totally worth it every time..

Backyard BBQ

Aberystwyth Canol/Central, Ceredigion
02/11/2018: We all went (7of us)for the 1st time tonight, absolutely brilliant food, and staff were a credit, would definitely recommend this place to anyone in this area, and will certainly be going back again. The Scott and Quinn family 😁😁😁😁
20/10/2018: From the moment we entered to when we left we were looked after and made to feel amazingly welcome.

Aberystwyth Canol/Central, Ceredigion, 20-30£
12/11/2018: We just spent two days in Aber and lunched there on both! We had been before but it was just as good. The food is a bit different: very imaginative salads, meze, Mediterranean influenced dishes and a lovely house red wine. Beware, you get large portions. The ice cream/black coffee dessert is fantastic! You can also buy salads and other goodies to take away.
11/11/2018: A great addition to the increasing range of good places to eat in Aber. Beautifully fresh, well presented, healthy food. Generous portions. Great value lunch. We had the mains, 2 salads and a glass of wine deal. Nice informal atmosphere. Friendly staff. And the deli means you can take it home too!

The Three Horseshoes Inn

Talybont-on-Usk, Powys, <20£
12/11/2018: We made a short notice booking after reading reviews on Trip Advisor and were not disappointed!
11/11/2018: Having spent a couple of hours climbing Pen y Fan, we had googled ‘best places to eat nearby’ before the ascent.

Fforest Pizza Tipi

Aberteifi/Cardigan-Teifi, Ceredigion, <20£
03/11/2018: I had never heard of this place but daughter had had recommendations from school. After dropping one child at rugby club we wanted something quick to eat before KO.
31/10/2018: Combining a simple unfussy menu, properly thin crust pizzas, locally made but inexpensive beers, eating pizza in a tipi turned out to be a highly enjoyable experience, especially when combined with friendly service and log burners to keep us warm on an October afternoon.

Castle Green

Lampeter, Ceredigion
11/11/2018: This little gem is certainly worth a visit. we had an amazing Sunday lunch and we took our two dogs who were made as welcome as we were.fantastic place with amazing staff. we will come back, even if its just for the Sunday roast. Thank you Mavis.
06/11/2018: This is the BEST place for Sunday lunch, having moved from Llanybydder to Llandysul tried quite a few places for lunch , nowhere is a patch on the Castle Green. EXCELLENT !!.

The Old Barn Tea Room

Talybont-on-Usk, Powys
20/10/2018: It was a delight to find this tearoom while out on a lovely drive. Afternoon tea was great value and we was well and truly satisfied. Friendly service!!
20/10/2018: There might be sandwichs as nice and fresh, scones as fantastic, a choice of tea's served in a proper pot with china cups all served in a beautiful building in a great setting somewhere - but if there is don't know of it!

The Old White Horse Inn

Tawe-Uchaf, Powys
06/11/2018: Visited The White Horse with some good friends with little expectation. Was really pleasantly surprised by the great atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff. The food was excellent and plentiful with attention to detail. There was a quite varied menu with something for all tastes. We were all really impressed by the efficiency of the staff and their welcome. Will definitely visit again.
04/11/2018: We booked into this little gem to celebrate my Mam’s birthday. We were 23 in all, the staff were lovely and nothing was to much trouble. The food was amazing from starters to desserts. Service was great.

Pen y Cae Inn

Tawe-Uchaf, Powys, <20£
04/11/2018: Delicious, well cooked Sunday lunch at Pen Y Cae, always of a consistently high standard and served with warm and friendly efficiency even when very busy. Good atmosphere. An excellent standard and plentiful variety and amount of vegetables with the Sunday lunch. Most recent visit was last Sunday and the beef and lamb both superb. Good range of starters and puddings too. Beautiful setting and will definitely return. It's rightly popular so well worth booking.
04/11/2018: I have reviewed this before, but just had to again. A lovely pub, great service and food to make your mouth water! My husband and I went there last night, we both had the Cajun Chicken and it was gorgeous. We ate downstairs again so we could take our dog. The prices were very good as well. Definitely worth another visit.

Fabian's Kitchen

Llangunllo, Powys
03/11/2018: Been several times, as a ‘retired’couple, then with friends and recently with family members, including their young children, including a new born. Attitude of owners and staff, excellent. Quality and presentation of meals superb. Value for money, none better. Nothing was too much trouble. Made to really feel welcome, On each occasion we were treated like friends rather than customers. Impressed with the ‘genuineness of the place, you really do get MORE than you can see. Well done.........’We’ll be back”!!
13/10/2018: Went to Fabians Kitchen this evening with my family. We had an extremely warm welcome from the whole family...and throughout the entire meal we were very well looked after. The food was fantastic, portions are huge, freshly cooked by Fabian who even tailored the fish curry to my taste! The atmosphere is relaxed, and the customer service was above and beyond, even when the restaurant was full. We will be back again very soon. One last point.... we hope Fabian had a good birthday!

St John's Place

Hay, Powys
04/11/2018: Really lovely meal. Incredible food. We shared small tapas style plates. Service was very good, welcoming.
30/10/2018: We ate here with friends. The restaurant has changed its booking policy, and reservations are only available for groups of 6 or more. We arrived at 5 for drinks and small plates and were told we needed to vacate by 7 for a reserved table. For those who don't want to feel pressurized this wasn't great (even though 2 hours is plenty of time).

Gwesty Cymru

Aberystwyth Canol/Central, Ceredigion
08/11/2018: A wonderful stay at the Gwesty Cymru, a 50th birthday treat from my wife. We stayed in the white room, which is at the top of the hotel with a great view of the sea, many stairs to climb! But well worth the climb.
07/11/2018: We stayed at the hotel for a couple of nights. The breakfast was superb, evening meal was good especially the daubed of beef, very small restaurant so with a large group it was very noisy.

Latte-da Tearoom

Crickhowell,Llangattock, Powys, <20£
04/11/2018: After a spontaneous visit on a Saturday afternoon I was overwhelmed by the quality of the eggs benedict. Cooked to perfection with the most delicious sauce, alongside a prompt friendly service. I’d eat that every day if I could! It was so nice I made a detour to return the following day. Great decour and atmosphere, very clean, lovely friendly staff. 11/10!
04/11/2018: This is the best example of a friendly `British tea Room with excellent cakes and coffee with a big plus of great light meals. A friendly service and having been once I have collected a loyalty card as I will definitely be going back.
