Aberystwyth Rheidol, Ceredigion, <20£
15/03/2019: What a little gem of a place with lovely food and lovely staff, highly recommended for a lunch time.....
09/03/2019: I will be visiting my 93 year old father in late April. As he likes fish I though to take him and 6 other family members to eat at Pyscoty. In late February I tried to book a table for 2000 on the Saturday only to be told that the resturant was fully booked but that a table would be available at 1800, this did not suit my father. Two days days later Pyscoty phoned to tell me that a table had become available at 2015, I told my father who was delighted. This evening Pyscoty phoned to tell me that the 2015 slot was no longer available but that they could accommodate us at 1800! My father will be extremely disappointed. Not acceptable behaivour.

The Old White Horse Inn

Tawe-Uchaf, Powys
17/03/2019: Great food great staff the owner is marvellous nothing too much trouble Sunday lunch is too die for and a good pint to what more could you want
10/03/2019: Very impressed by my visit there with friends, and their dog. The staff were very welcoming, and looked after us throughout the meal, and also made sure our dog had some water. The food was excellent, in presentation and taste, and I have to say it’s one of the best Sunday lunches I’ve had for quite some time. The fact that it is dog friendly as well, makes it a winner.

Aberystwyth Canol/Central, Ceredigion, 20-30£
20/01/2019: I absolutely loved this restaurant/shop! The menu offers something for everyone, with plenty of vegan options like lentil stew, plant milks, hummus and flatbread and delicious salads! The restaurant/cafe was spacious yet it had a nice cosy atmosphere, and the shop offers loads of lovely goodies to buy, including loose fruit and veg, cakes and freshly baked bread! Heaven! Would come again for sure.
08/01/2019: We went to Medina for an evening meal as we both like middle eastern food. We were not disappointed; the food was excellent and not too pricey.

The Three Horseshoes Inn

Talybont-on-Usk, Powys, <20£
19/03/2019: We arrived on time and joined our friends who had booked the table. We waited and waited and...... when we asked the very harassed waiter he said that he'd be with us soon and the chef had a huge amount of chits lined up . He eventually took our order and when the food finally arrived it was tepid. The plates were the biggest I think that I have ever seen and so heavy that they could only be carried two at a time. People came, ate and went, the tables around us were sprayed and relaid. Then the waitress tried to take our glasses, we objected as we still hadn't had dessert. We ordered pudding and finally left an empty restaurant 11pm. We asked the waiter why everything had taken so long and were told that there had been a number of walk ins which had pushed everything back.
19/03/2019: A really lovely surprise as the closest pub to our campsite, so circumstance rather than well researched choice. Dog friendly and incredibly people friendly. Absolute gem of a pub with outstanding food and helpful, committed people to serve it. Young chef is award winning and one to watch for the future.

Fforest Pizza Tipi

Aberteifi/Cardigan-Teifi, Ceredigion, <20£
13/02/2019: This place is just gorgeous in the summer ,the Teifi Estuary runs by its side, pizzas to die for.Great pub called 'The Grovenor' next door to go to for a couple of drinks afterwards or just to sit and relax and take in that great Welsh air.
21/12/2018: Great evening of delicious food at Pizzatipi ‘s winter feast. The meat platter was to die for as were the other courses. Great drinks on offer and the service was spot on. Well done to the team.

Bosun's Locker

New Quay, Ceredigion
15/01/2019: Situated in New Quay, small but welcoming place. Lovely menu for home style food. Good price and value
09/01/2019: Celebrated New Years Day with a lovely meal on the last day of Jayne and Brian’s tenure of the Bosun’s Locker.

Pen y Cae Inn

Tawe-Uchaf, Powys, <20£
11/03/2019: Lovely old place situated off the a40 to swansea varied menu friendly staff and cosy surroundings would recommend to all
03/03/2019: Visited on Saturday 2nd March as part of a large party of 16, the restaurant was full along with two other large parties, however this did not effect the service, the friendliness of the staff or the quality of the food. Everyone in our party really enjoyed their meals, no complaints whatsoever. It's nice to visit a friendly pub with amazing food and come away satisfied and full.

Aberystwyth Canol/Central, Ceredigion
12/03/2019: Looking for somewhere for breakfast when I go to visit Aber meals look good till I saw the picture of a dog licking a saucer on the table. Sorry but that is a no no from me absolutely horrible. Will definitely won't be going there
12/03/2019: Sophie’s is a lovely cafe with a thriving atmosphere that is always nearly full! We tried to get breakfast here on a Saturday morning but there was a 20 minute wait for a table so we missed out that day! We managed to come back on a Monday morning to just get a table before they were full and I’m glad we did as it was the best breakfast I’ve had in Wales!! My partner had the full English which was a good plate of food, I had the American breakfast which was again a good portion with sausage, hash brown, bacon, fried bread, pancakes and maple syrup!! This was just the breakfast I was after as I’m not keen on everything you get with a full English breakfast (e.g. beans, mushrooms etc).

The Daffodil Inn

Llandyfriog, Ceredigion
14/03/2019: Called in on Tuesday lunchtime for a drink and Wednesday evening for a meal. My wife and I always do on our visits to the area, usually twice a year. Be silly not to. The Daffodil is a welcoming pub with polite and friendly staff. Great food. Good drinks offering. I simply cannot fault the place. Worth the trip from Hampshire just to visit The Daffodil.
12/03/2019: Visited on an unusually busy Tuesday. The staff were so apologetic for wait times etc but they didn't need to be. Food and service was utterly fantastic even though they were short staffed and super busy. Absolutely lush food and drink. Will definitely be returning when back in the area.

Cosy Corner Restaurant

Builth, Powys, <20£
17/03/2019: The food is vegetarian friendly and extremely delicious! There are vegan options too. We've had lunch and dinner here both times service was wonderful, Hard working owners who really value your custom! Only warning is if you opt for the alcoholic milkshake, make sure you like booze! Can't wait to go back, so lucky to have you in the neighbourhood.
10/03/2019: Fab lunchtime special today (8 March) - chicken and mushroom stroganoff with raspberry cheesecake to follow. Absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. Very friendly and helpful.

Aberystwyth Canol/Central, Ceredigion
11/02/2019: Since moving to Aber a decade ago, this has been my favourite restaurant (now shared No 1 with Medina), and it is always a wonderful night out - especially in the winter, when it is really snug and cosy inside and a hearty Beef Tangiers is exactly what you need. I have just discovered that it is also fantastic at hosting large groups - we had a birthday party for a group of 20, and everything ran so smoothly and it was absolutely lovely.
03/02/2019: Have been coming to this place for years with lots of different groups of friends so where better to hold my retirement party ? The menu hasn't changed much over the years but the food is always freshly cooked and beautifully presented -the staff are always lovely -never pushy and very obliging -the atmosphere is sheer relaxation -the owner Jo does all the cooking in the tiniest of spaces and is very laid back -we have had some really noisy parties in here and nothing fazes him. Last night was no exception -we were a party of seventeen -there was another party of ten and a party of four -we were all wearing silly hats a nd moving from table to table to talk to friends but the staff just carried on quietly serving food around us -not an eyebrow was raised even when some of us started singing Bohemian Rhapsody -badly I might add .It was a lovely way to spend time with people that I will probably never see altogether again -thank you Jo x

The Cellar

Aberaeron, Ceredigion
19/03/2019: Monday evening in the Winter and this restaurant was in full swing... Booking advisable. Modern and very tastefully decorated. Fantastic drinks menu and great choice of foods. Staff very attentive. Highly recommend.
19/03/2019: Myself and my partner wanted to treat my parents to an evening out and decided to book the Cellar.

The Nags Head Inn

Berriew, Powys, 30-45£
14/03/2019: Rooms lovely, food excellent, staff know what customer service is. Enjoyed a lovely gin and cucumber tonic. We will be back at end of the month. Lesley and Gordon Miles
10/03/2019: Wow, where to start?! Firstly thank you for fitting me & my husband in for lunch today at short notice. You were extremely busy and we feel lucky to have dined with you. We arrived a little early but were swiftly shown to our table by a cheery lady serving at the bar. We ordered our food, we both had soup to start. Today’s soup was cauliflower and spinach and was served piping hot right down to the last delicious mouthful. The tasty soup was accompanied by a hearty chuck of whole meal bread and a generous serving of Welsh butter. Gorgeous! We also both had the lamb rump, oh my word, it was just so succulent and tasty, and cooked perfectly. We had a huge Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes & carrot served with the meat. We were then served 2 side dishes of veg, broccoli, green beans & spring cabbage and a dish of the best cauliflower cheese I’ve ever tasted. I asked for extra gravy which was served without a problem in a good sized jug. Plenty of mint sauce too! Portions were very generous too, on both starters and main courses. We nosed at what other diners were having as the busy waiting staff served the food & they too looked marvellous. Unfortunately we couldn’t manage dessert, but again they looked huge and scrumptious too. Next time! We did have to ask for more drinks as no one came to check on those, but the staff were so busy, that was fine. Thank you to the chef & staff for an exceptional experience, we will definitely be returning.

Bara Menyn Bakehouse & Cafe

Aberteifi/Cardigan-Teifi, Ceredigion
27/01/2019: I love this place, went yesterday for lunch, we had a Vegan breakfast, a falafal pitta, 2 cappuccinos, a tea and two amazing cakes for £27, which I thought was a bargain. It’s a shame people think this place is expensive, it’s an independent, well decorated treasure of a local business that needs local support. It’s much Cheaper to go to Greggs on the high street of course, but you get a much higher quality of food and service here. The food was of the highest quality, the seeded bread on the breakfast was the best bread i’ve ever tasted and I was sad (but not surprised) that they’d sold out of their loaves of seeded bread when I asked about buying one when settling the bill.
19/01/2019: We come here quite regularly and we buy sourdough bread here, so I suppose we are quite lucky. Excellent choice of freshly made food and lovely cakes as well as tea, coffee, wine, beer and locally produced gin, truly spoilt for choice!

Aberystwyth Canol/Central, Ceredigion
11/03/2019: Very welcoming setting, with a nice selection of authentic-tasting Spanish tapas. However, although it was not completely full, it quickly appeared that the operation was overwhelmed: Service staff were visibly over-rushed and kitchen maybe too small. Thus dishes and drinks came out slowly and with unpredictable delivery, and it unfortunately started to feel like we were more an inconvenience than customers. Overall, we were generally happy with what we were served, but it was not a very relaxed experience.
27/02/2019: Googled craft beer in Aberystwyth and this place up. Was unsure on walking in a the front is a deli but then we found the cafe at the back and sat at the bar for some drinks. I had a delicious Spanish beer made with sea water and my wife the house red, we soo. Settled into the vibe there and ended up having a few drinks and some delicious olives and bread. The place is very expensive but I don’t mind when the quality is good. Can’t comment on the food but it did smell yummy. Staff were very friendly and we’ll definitely be returning for food sometime
