The Cosy Club - Cardiff

Cathays, Cardiff, <20£
29/04/2020: Myself and my two friends came here one Friday afternoon, we had no lectures on and one of my friends was leaving for a month so we decided to have one last meal together. I suggested Cosy Club as I've been twice before and had lovely meals. It's safe to say the girls had a lovely surprise. The staff were so lovely, could't do more for you and the food was so lovely. I had a veggie club sandwich but I asked for only the facon (fake bacon) and mayo because I'm so fussy but it was no trouble to them which as a fussy eater (and at the time veggie) I was so thankful. We will DEFO be back, maybe for a breakie or an evening meal!
12/03/2020: I ordered the Cosy Club triple sandwich, as it was their own professed best item, however when it arrived the toast had been made some time before and was so crispy that it was impossible to eat, but as I was accompanied by family I persevered. I’m sure they would have remade it had I asked, but time did not allow, so if I can make a recommendation, who ever has the job of checking dishes before they are released to the customer, ensure the toast is freshly made. Other than that I could see that it would have been a good dish, p.s. the chips were good.

The Cottage Loaf

Gogarth, Conwy
22/05/2020: Went here after a costal walk with some friends. If you're a fan of rambling and want an ideal heart meal after a fulfilling day of exploring this place is perfect! Decent price, good food with a great rustic atmosphere. 5 stars!
20/04/2020: Average nothing special don’t see what people go on about also I found it expensive for food and drink

Cadnant, Isle of Anglesey, 20-30£
20/05/2020: First takeaway since being in lockdown. Not what we expected. Overcooked beef burgers and a pizza that wasn’t even cut in slices to eat. Don’t continue takeaway food Dylan’s.
19/03/2020: Service was quite slow. Food was ok but nothing special in terms of price v quality. Vege Burger was tasty enough.

Viva Brazil

Cathays, Cardiff, 20-30£
19/03/2020: Really good dinning experience, the staff were really laid back and put you at ease. They explained the way it worked and the food was delicious. First place I'm going when the virus has done one xx
16/03/2020: Fantastic food with great service! Love coming here to eat, all the meats are fantastic along with the salad bar! Highly recommend coming here but don’t plan on doing anything afterwards as you will be too full!!

Cathays, Cardiff
05/05/2020: Ordered food at 1pm and expected delivery time was 1.44pm and phoned at 2 and they said food will be 2mins so phoned back 10 mins later wland was told 30 more mins. Attitude on phone was not great, had to work rest of the day with no lunch
15/03/2020: First time trying Wiwo. Price is reasonable, however it was bland and the half of the box was full of oil/liquid. It was only until I drained it out I was able to actually eat the noodles. First and last time!!!

The Black Boy Inn

Menai (Caernarfon), Gwynedd, <20£
11/03/2020: Visited on a whim as we were passing through the area. Lovely traditional, very Welsh pub/inn. Polite and welcoming staff, even to us non-Welsh speaking lot. Food was great, generous portions. Nice selection on the taps. Would recommend to anyone thinking about visiting the area.
09/03/2020: We nipped in for a pint and a quick bite during a short day visit to Caernarfon and I have to say, this is exactly my sort of pub. There is a small, cosy front bar with a roaring fire and a spacious eating area, wooden beamed with various interesting pictures and the wall and a beautifully decorated fireplace. Unfortunately I arrived just as the Tiny Rebel ran out but I was still able to enjoy a fine local ale and the Welsh rarebit was delicious and good value.I do want to take an exception with an earlier review I read suggesting there are only 3 cask beer pumps available - an outright lie I'm afraid. Three in the front bar, another five or more in the back bar...mostly pouring from local breweries too which is always good to see. Can't be doing with dishonest nonsense like that.

Grape and Olive

Castle, Swansea, 20-30£
07/03/2020: I took visiting family from England to show case the view. We had a fantastic table with views of both the sea and the city and watched while day changed to night. The food and service were both excellent. I had steak cooked just how I requested. The serving staff were attentive making the whole experience just perfect.
06/03/2020: Very good service from Ffion, and lovely food. Would highly recommend to anyone. Restaurant also comes with a lovely view of Swansea.

Jamie's Italian

Cathays, Cardiff
21/02/2020: I ate lunch here and had a mushroom pasta option. Found it to be over priced and the food very average. Saying that it was very busy so confusing it’s gone bust.
17/10/2019: Now closed but justifyably so. It was very poor value and existed for as long as it did, purely on the proprietor's name and reputation. We gave it several opportunities, but never once had a good meal there

The Palladium

Gogarth, Conwy
18/04/2020: Was brought here by my drinking buddy Lesley. We had steak and chips, mine rare, hers well done. Was great food and after we tried nearly every spirit behind the bar. My friend had to get he husband to pick us up..... He wasn't amused!
08/04/2020: The staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was very good, your standard Wetherspoons food. The pictures and architecture were worth our visit alone.

21/03/2020: There was 9 of us. Booked online. Excellent food and service and Nothing left but empty plates. The fish is massive and roast beef cooked to perfection.
17/03/2020: What an amazing view from your table of the river waters flowing in so many different directions. It is a visual feast. The food is equally good quality. Myself and my travelling companion had a sumptuous roast beef dinner, with all the trimmings, accompanied by a nice glass of Shiraz. Very reasonably priced at under £35.If I happen to be in the area again I will certainly stop by for another meal!

Pizza Venice

Castle, Swansea
22/04/2020: If you know, you know, right? But where do i begin? I guess,in this crazy world, one can only begin from the beginning. It was almost a year ago I was first introduced to the sheer decadence of Italia in the merry old town of Swansea. It was a warm, late spring evening. As the sun gave its final glow,my boyfriend asked me what my favourite food was - "hot, sloppy, cheesy pizza" was my reply, but there was a distinct sadness he detected in my tone, as i explained you would never find that 'perfect" type of pizza here in Swansea. Christian gazed into my eyes, and held my hands infront of his as he told me Swansea's best known secret. His emerald green eyes drew me in like kryptonite. I was mesmerised and weak as he told me "I will treat you, tonight!" And he told me all about PIZZA VENICE IN SWANSEA.Walking through those streets, I could barely imagine what adventure lay ahead, but i didn't have time to think, for we had arrived at our final destination. We were welcomed with an open door, and as if by magic, we were teleported to Venice. The men behind the counter greeted us with kind familiarity and in their gracious hospitality, gifted us a free drink. Our eyes widened as our souls tried to take in what stood before us. The PIZZA VENICE MENU. Then we made a choice. Ham. And pineapple. We decided to go for the classic Hawiian, what the heck! We'd travelled to Venice, lets go to Hawaii as well. I nearly fell off my seat when I discovered it was buy one get one free! Christian took the lead in ordering a generous portion of their FAMOUS CHICKEN WINGS, a seasoned Pizza Venetian he knew what he was doing alright, and he did good. We sat and shared the perfectly seasoned and textured, WORLD CLASS chicken wings, which deserve a 5* review of their own and enjoyed our free drinks at the table while we waited. We barely noticee time go by before we were told our pizzas were ready. We thanked the lovely men for their hospitality and took the pizzas home. We placed the boxes carefully on the table. "Are you ready?" Christian asked. But, but what IF it was all a big hype? What if it wasn't all it was implied to be? Were my dreams if an authentic pizza about to be shattered? With nervous trepidation, I answered "yes". He opened the box. A sonic boom of pizza scented heaven filled the room. "Take the first piece" Christian kindly offered. "Me?" I looked around, there was no one but myself. Nevis the dog was being looked after elsewhere.I took the pizza, brought it to my eager awaiting lips that seemed like a separate entity and again we became one. My soul was fulfilled as i breathed deeply and masticated the molten cheese, perfectly seasoned, the sauce, like mama in Venice would create it, the dough, as sloppy as butter would melt in the golden sunlight, the temperature and feeling, like mamas womb. Safe. Loved. At peace. Piece by piece this enchanted evening became a regular tradition, and the standard of service and quality is always higher than the Meridian Tower. If you want to travel, in lock down or the future, pizza venice is the single most authentic and delightful experience. I will continue to give them my custom, and am proud to be friends with many others who travel the pizza Venice way. You can also order online and by telephone.Pizza Venice - Thank you.
11/04/2020: It was all ordered and delivered, all within 25 minutes. and also very hot and tasty, great service.

Home Cookin' Restaurant

Gogarth, Conwy, <20£
08/03/2020: The names says it all, the menu had a good range of home comfort food. I had the Lasagne and my partner had the Chicken Curry. Both great size portions and good value for money. Service was good and friendly. We would visit again if in the area.
05/03/2020: An obvious place to dine for us when in Llandudno, and once again it didn't disappoint. Really nice wholesome food at a reasonable price.
