Bijou Deli Cafe

St. Mary, Powys
26/04/2018: We loved the way this café promotes local products. The barabrith and apple polenta cake were delicious, as was the coffee. Great layout as well, making full use of the small, intimate setting. We'll be back!
17/04/2018: This little place doesn't look much from the outside but the quality of the food is outstanding. It's great to see a short menu of relatively simple dishes done really well. I had an egg sandwich, which doesn't sound that exciting, but it was superb because of the delicious bread and the wonderfully judged addition of a light curry mayonnaise and grated carrot.

Crimson Rhino

Aberystwyth Bronglais, Ceredigion
10/07/2018: This place has unfortunately gone downhill since it was taken over last autumn. I have been back several times as wanted to give them chance to find their feet but the food has been below par every time. The burger I had today was far too salty and had a rather crumbly texture. They still don’t stock vegan mayo despite the fact that I have been asking for 8 months; every time they have a different excuse and claim they will have some in soon!
15/06/2018: I visited Crimson Rhino for the first time last week, having heard good things about the food. I was not disappointed. I had the toasted ciabatta with vegan cheese, spinach and mushroom. It was delicious and such a nice change to have a vegan option with a cheesy filling, rather than the usual falafel or suchlike! The coffee was good and the service was friendly and efficient. It was a nice day and I sat and relaxed in the lovely, sunny, herb-filled garden. What a great café – I will definitely be back to sample the rest of the menu!

Mulberry Bush

Lampeter, Ceredigion
18/08/2018: Apart from having to manage a set of stairs up to the seating area, this place is great! Very tasty caramelized onion quiche with an array of salad and hummus, very filling and a bargain at £6.20. Free water in jugs is available, so apart from eyeing up the delicious looking cakes but feeling full, this is a great place to go.
17/07/2018: Had a very tasty peanut stew/curry for lunch. It was cheap and filling. There is free water and a light and pleasant seating area upstairs. Would definitely visit again.

Llanidloes, Powys
20/09/2015: MMMM, heavenly food last night at the Sanctuary Cafe, Llanidloes. Candles flickered, conversation flowed and the tastes......simply divine: Baked rolls of filo pastry filled with strips of chorizo and virginia style seitan, mushroom, butternut squash and aubergine ona bed of mange tout on garlic roasted courgette and onion with a ginger preserve and onion drizzle! What an extraveganza! Not to mention the deserts - if you haven't been - you don't know what you're missing....mmmmmmm
