The Green Almond

Meads, Eastbourne, 20-30£
06/06/2019: Th Ave been here a few times with friends. I am not a vegetarian but I found the food to be tasty. You pay four eith a small or large plate and help your self. The staff are friendly. I would try and book as it is a small place. Only downfall is the toilets are downstairs.
29/05/2019: Not a vegetarian but fussy about food. Loved it. Really enjoyed the taster option to try everything. Staff lovely.

St. Peter's and North Laine, Brighton and Hove, <20£
18/06/2019: We discovered this restaurant because of their gluten free-options, and decided to go here for breakfast. This is the first time I have tasted vegan sausage, and it was one of the best tastes ever. Their lemonade and juices was also really good. I would really recommend eating here wheter you have an gluten-allergy, are vegan/vegetarian, or not.
15/06/2019: Wow wow wow how had the previous person written small portions. We were 4 and we all ordered an entree with all the sides and toppings, we were Totally stuffed, amazing food, outstanding value and flavors.

The Old Town Tea Room

Old Town, Rother
24/05/2019: At £10 per head afternoon tea really great value. Sandwiches and various home-made cakes were delicious and plenty of them. Staff were friendly and helpful. Quaint surroundings.
17/05/2019: Lovely cream tea here, nice amount of jam and cream, plus lovely fluffy scone.

Camphill Restaurant

Linford South, Milton Keynes
08/06/2019: Ot visited in ages and it's still as good as ever. Good freshly cooked healthy food, well served and surroundings are great too. Will definately return, it's a fantastic facility employing people with learning difficulties and it's a privilege to see.
06/06/2019: I've been working as a volunteer over the past few months and hadn't ventured into the café until only a couple of weeks ago. I wasn't disappointed. There's a lovely atmosphere in there, with some of the residents of the Camphill community working as waiters and waitresses. The walls are covered with artworks, some of which are for sale, an added incentive to visit might be to look at, and possibly buy, some of these artworks. The food is excellent, beautifully prepared and presented. I've had several cheese toasties and the cakes are exquisite. I shall come back on the days I'm there and definitely recommend to others to visit if they haven't already. It must be popular by the number of people that were eating their lunches when I arrived and more were coming in as I left. First rate!

Magic Cafe

Holywell,St Mary's, Oxford
28/04/2019: Always great salad option available as well as a selection of vegetarian hot meal options. Great for a coffee and cake too.

Norman, Ashford
16/06/2019: My daughter and I had lunch here. We really enjoyed our meal. We ordered a chicken roisukaree and a firecracker chicken. We shared and could not decide which one was better. We also shared a banana fritter pudding. We really enjoyed our food. We also got free green tea and water. The service was excellent. This is definitely my favourite chain. If you haven't tryed it about time you did. Great value too.
28/05/2019: Went as 3 adults and 2 children, one child with a nut allergy. Once we told the waiter there was a child with a nut allergy he informed the manager who served us personally. The manager had a folder with a list of allergens for each menu item, peanut, sesame etc...and checked the content of everything we ordered to make sure that it was nut free. We had to wait a little longer for our food, but that’s because it was being prepared by the head chef. So impressed. I would definitely recommend this place for their approach to food allergies. The food was lovely too

Pret a Manger

Carfax, Oxford
28/12/2018: Pret is good for a quick bite to eat and a coffee to go. Coffee is sometimes too hot and never as tasty as I would like
24/10/2018: I go here regularly there is a big wide range of sandwiches and torsties the food products are really flavour I go for the posh cheddar sand which which is delicious I reccomend the food quality has always been really high and reasonably priced as well the only thing that I have your coffees and the times I have had them they have not been hot which means you drink it quickly then it’s not enjoyable it should be in the middle, it is very clean and very good customer the staff always have a smile on their faces which makes a massive difference in customer service and very nice decor and a vibrant atmosphere it situated in britiful historic Oxford,

Boswells Cafe

St Mary's, Test Valley
15/05/2019: Nice cafeteria inside The Chantry Centre. Good soy cappuccino and cosy atmosphere. Full English Breakfast is freshly made and served all day.
03/03/2019: Not much to comment on. It’s a lovely cafe in a convenient setting with ample seating and a varied menu. Only critique would be that I asked for wholemeal and got white toast but the waitress offered to replace, I’m easy going so I declined and it was probably a lot tastier that way! Enjoyed it

42 Juice

Regency, Brighton and Hove

Queen's Park, Brighton and Hove
27/06/2018: Salads and all food phenomenal. Try to avoid the gorgeous cakes! Quiches especially the mozzarella and chorizo mmmmmmm sausage rolls also a big hit and lots of very tasty salad dishes so you can be healthy but feel you’ve had something really nice! Servers are lovely! Gave me back £20 I’d dropped in the shop one time!!!!!
18/04/2018: I had beef lasagne with patatas bravas homemade hummus and penne past slightly on the dear side but due to the wonderful interior bright appealing dishes and friendly owner it was well worth the money. A hidden gem in the beautiful character filled city. Food was all delicious and generous portion sizes meant I couldn’t finish it for £9.95.

Pleasant Stores

Lewes Castle, Lewes

The Beano Restaurant

Friary and St Nicolas, Guildford
19/01/2019: I went to the former Beano in Guildford Institute today - very disappointing. Apart from quiche (very small slices) there was only one main dish - cauliflower curry (also small portions) so I had mushroom soup (which was generous) with a slice of bread. There were a few salads at extra cost. Compared with the variety of dishes and large portions at very reasonable prices we were used to previously it was a disaster; I won't be eating there again. Apologies to any who have acted on my former recommendation.
09/07/2018: The GI is right in the heart of Guildford town and runs excellent educational courses ranging from history of art to learning French - they also have guest speakers - one talk I attended concerned Guildford during the war.

Worton Organic Garden

Yarnton, Gosford and Water Eaton, Cherwell
09/06/2019: Living in West Oxfordshire, I’ve been intending to visit Worton for over a year after reading a good review from the FT. It didn’t disappoint exactly as it’s quirky and it was lovely to sit next to the flower-scented garden for lunch. Both of us ordered mushroom quiche and salad and I think they must have divided the one remaining piece of quiche to make two slices. It was all good, the herb and green salad, the wholemeal bread and the quiche, but the price was steep for such very small slices of quiche.
20/05/2019: I went here after reading a review from the Financial Times. It did not disappoint. The lamb chops were succulent and the best I have tasted in a long time. There was hardly room for the delicious rhubarb pavlova, but somehow we managed it. Sat in the delightfully rustic cafe with a wall of books to read and a wood stove at my back. Service was friendly and prompt. There are also tables outside under the verandah, in the garden and in the enormous greenhouse. It has such a relaxed feel, not at all like a restaurant. They do not take reservations so go hungry and early before the best dishes sell out. A walk around the garden is delightful with all sorts of vegetables and flowers growing. There are hens and pigs to look at. The shop is small but with a fair selection of local and imported produce.

Tina's Kitchen

Lewes Priory, Lewes
20/02/2019: Tina welcomed us in to her restaurant and gave us wonderful suggestions on what to eat and combine for lunch. We had a bit if almost everything from her ever changing healthy, nutritious and wonderfully tasty menu! I even bought her cook book, as I wanted to recreate the recipes at home. It was lovely chatting to her and it felt like sitting at a friends house having lunch. I would recommend this restaurant to EVERYONE!
25/10/2018: We were lured into the cafe by the delicious scent coming out of the open door and the food did not disappoint! The best food in the ‘healthy’ category I’ve ever had when eating out: I ordered the salad platter of different colourful salads with a mushroom frittata and my son and husband had the venison stew. Everything was beautifully flavoured with spices and herbs, prepared with fresh seasonal ingredients and clearly made by someone who knows how to cook well. We got a few of the wholesome sweet treats to go and those too were scrumptious. I only wish there was a cafe like this where we live!
