The Jews House Restaurant

Carholme, Lincoln, 30-45£
06/06/2020: In these trying times them offer a take away service. The meal we took away tonight was excellent. My wife thought the Warm Heritage Tomato Broth was very good as was the Marinated Chicken starter I had. The main courses of Lamb and Duck Leg were as good as one would expect in the restaurant, just my presentation does not match Gavins. The desserts exceeded our expectations. All in all a very good meal just finished off at our home. Looking forward to "normal service being resumed".
06/03/2020: Jews Restaurant is a beautiful building run by a lovely couple. We had a tasting menu with wine and it was wonderful. The restaurant owner had an excellent knowledge of all the wines available and was in her element working with her clientele. The food was fantastic. I enjoyed everything put in front of me. We made a point of thanking the Chef as we left who is also part owner with his wife. All in all a very enjoyable evening of top class food, wine ambience and excellent attentive staff.Wish we lived nearer!

28/02/2020: Bar Castillejar is a great little bar for authentic Spanish tapas. Hot and cold selection available. Some veggie dishes too. Good atmosphere and efficient service. Decent wine list with some lovely Spanish wines that are not always readily available in UK. Open Wed- Sunday. Thru service from 11am

Escabeche

Trent Bridge, Rushcliffe
11/03/2020: We were greeted at the door by a very friendly waitress and seated immediately, as we had a booking. However, it took over 40 minutes before the waitress came back to take our order, luckily the food quickly came after that so we must have just been forgotten, which is understandable when it’s busy but it was relatively quiet and manageable for a Wednesday. What was slightly frustrating is the waitresses were polishing cutlery and hadn’t come to any tables surrounding us for a while. The food was great in terms of portion sizes and there was a wide range of options. However felt slightly let down by the experience, as uni students, who spent quite a lot of money there for a uni budget.
10/03/2020: Dined here tonight with my bestie..Flat bread was delicious..Tapas choices are excellent, Vegan menus had a great selection.Prices are reasonable. Will visit again

Sol y Luna

Phippsville, Northampton
03/03/2018: We ate here for a friend's birthday. It was quite cozy inside but I think that adds to the restaurants ambience. The menu has a good range of dishes to choose from and the food was delicious. We were all really impressed with the quality of food. The only negatives for us, was the prices of the tapas, we felt that they were slightly over priced. But apart from that we felt that the restaurant offered a good dining experience.
25/02/2018: Scratching my head this morning at how we managed to pay £53 for 4 average tasting tapas dishes, 1 soft drink and 1 beer served up in a cold tent! Had we been told we’d be eating outside we’d have gone somewhere else but even that aside, ridiculously overpriced. If you want tapas and you’re undecided whether to eat here, I’d suggest not to but go Les Olives instead - if nothing else, it’s indoors and warm! Won’t be going back.

White Lion Bar & Kitchen

Beeston Central, Broxtowe
