Couper's Creek

Black Isle, Highland
20/07/2019: I had a cheese and chutney toastie here after my dolphin cruise in Cromarty. The staff were friendly and the food was good. Lots of options to suit most people’s preferences. The desserts and drinks looked good as well.
19/07/2019: Tucked away in the heart of historic and beautiful Cromarty, this lovely restaurant offers a wide range of food and great selection of ice creams. Well worth a visit

The Storehouse

Cromarty Firth, Highland
22/07/2019: A very nice place with excellent food, but at busy times you have to be prepared to wait in the queue. The staff are very friendly. The views over the Cromarty Firth are excellent. Convenient location adjacent to the A9 main road. Highly frecommend.

Macdui's

Badenoch and Strathspey, Highland
20/07/2019: A few beers/ciders and some amazing food, every visit to Aviemore needs to consist with a trip to macduis. Friendly staff good food, happy and full bellys
16/07/2019: Ribeye steak was not high quality meat, otherwise we were satisfied with our dinner. Especially chicken with leek and ham pie was delicious. Staff was very glad and fluent with their service.

Storehouse Cafe

Land Caithness Ward, Highland
21/07/2019: Had lunch here yesterday and was super disappointed Last time I was here the menu was fantastic this time it was shop bought sandwiches, soup and panini’s Service wasn’t great so we 1/2 ate our panini’s then went elsewhere for coffee and cake!
19/07/2019: So popped up to John O'groats and decided to go into the storehouse for a drink. Upon entering the cafe the staff looked glaiket and by the look on their faces they really didn't want customers and they all wanted to go home. I questioned the young girl behind the counter to explain something on the menu and she did not have a clue. She also did not ask another member of staff for help either!! The female chef could be visable to the left of the counter and wow what a death stare she gave. Completely made me feel unwelcome. There were also about another 4 members of staff just standing watching. Not one member of staff smiled or made us welcome and to be honest it was only 4pm and it was takeaway we ended up with and I was sure glad we didn't sit in. Come on Natural Retreat pull your sleeves up and sort yourselves out. You have already managed to ruin a business at Cairngorm Mountain and if you don't sort your staff out and introduce some customer service you are going to find yourself screwing this one up too!! All the other food and drink establishments around had lots of people in them and your cafe was dead! No wonder.

The Creel Restaurant with Rooms

East Mainland, South Ronaldsay and Burray, Orkney Islands
12/05/2019: This establishment is now The Creel B&B.; It is listed on TripAdvisor and highly rated under that name.
10/10/2017: The owner does not always serve food! We asked and he created a menu especially for us! The scallops with a homemade sauce were superb as was the lamb tagine. I thought the dessert of marrons with creme fraiche would be terrible but the combination worked! Really good choice of wines but very different. We had one from Georgia! Just the four of us ate, a bit like being in a supper club, a truly fantastic evening.

Tannochbrae Restaurant

Speyside Glenlivet, Moray
26/09/2018: Tannochbrae is a must in your stay in Dufftown. James and Louis run a top notch B&B; and restaurant. Make reservations. Come a tad early and have a drink and a dram in their cozy sitting room. Order from the sitting room and will be seated when your food is ready. The food is fresh, local, and very very good. Take your time and enjoy this elegant Scottish experience. Save room for dessert!
23/06/2018: Fantastic meal including locally made (made by the Tannochbrae owners in fact) Balvenie St Ice Cream in various whisky flavours. I highly recommend. Note that at present this restaurant is only open on Mondays.

Ord House Hotel Restaurant

Dingwall and Seaforth, Highland
13/07/2019: Das Hotel / Restaurant war nicht so ganz einfach zu finden, man hätte nicht vermutet, daß am Ende dieses holprigen Weges ein Kleinod versteckt ist.
31/05/2019: On a cold rainy May evening we dined at the Ord House. We were greeted warmly by the staff and enjoyed the bar area, complete with a fireplace and Labrador Retriever, while we waited for our dinner to be prepared. Our steaks were cooked perfectly, the salad greens, bread and potatoes were delicious. After dinner we strolled through the Tolkien-like garden complete with trees and boulders dripping with moss and flowers springing from every nook. Don’t miss a chance to dine in this unique restaurant!
