18/12/2018: Great atmosphere on entry and throughout. Staff were friendly, efficient and professional. The Service was speedy and the food delicious, portions generous and well presented. What can I say? Exceeded expectation on all fronts.
12/12/2018: Once again the family had dinner at the Blair. Staff were great as my mum is 91 yrs of age and accomodated a smaller portion for her. The festive decorations just added to an enjoyable time too..

Torranyard Tandoori

Annick, East Ayrshire, >100£
24/11/2018: Excellent meal, great variety of food brilliant service. Lovely friendly staff, and great surroundings.
20/11/2018: Tried Torranyard on a Tuesday evening in November. The restaurant wasn’t that busy but it was a Tuesday at 6pm after all. Staff were welcoming and helpful from start to finish. We ordered the table buffet for two which is aprox £14 per person. That includes popadoms, pakora, three curries, rice per person and a nann with tea/coffee or ice cream to finish.

Weston Tavern

Annick, East Ayrshire
28/11/2018: The festive menu started, and we just tried out the Roast Breast of Turkey.... don't miss this! Even the sprout mash was nice, I had no idea this was even possible! The mix platter starter was brilliant as usual, with the tortilla and haggis pakora stealing the show. Great service & amazing food.
20/11/2018: Had heard good things about the food here so when looking to book for a meal decided to try for ourselves.

The Milhouse Hotel

Annick, East Ayrshire
07/11/2018: our first lunch in here , lovely place, very nice friendly staff and had a lovely lunch absolutely stuffed
27/10/2018: We have been to the mill house maybe 20 times over the last few years as well as other Buzzworks restaurants as we have a loyalty card and enjoy the happy hours but it's getting a bit stale now. Last visit on the 27th Oct we were left disappointed again. Drinks were wrong then took ages to correct , menu was new for winter but it really isn't much different from most months , Fillet was very small and my Korean chicken was mostly veg .

The Wee Train

Irvine Valley, East Ayrshire
18/11/2018: Great wee pub staff very friendly happy to help great meals to always busy and good atmosphere good night out
15/09/2018: First time visit was disappointing went in a one o'clock hoping for a nice lunch. Unfortunately the chef was on his own and there was a party of ten to serve. The waitress was very nice said be 2/30.before I could have a meal. It would have been to late for me by then. I hopefully will sample the lovely food in the near future.

Bonnyton Cafe

Kilmarnock West and Crosshouse, East Ayrshire
18/11/2018: Does exactly what it says on the tin, except much much better than any other chippy in this godforsaken town. Their special fish suppers are the business.
10/11/2018: Had a lovely fish supper which was still really warm by the time I got to Galston, my husband also enjoyed a split black pudding supper, I really would highly recommend this place!

Boswell's Coach House

Ballochmyle, East Ayrshire
10/11/2018: Had an alfresco lunch (luckily the rain stayed off for us!) The food was OK it was just a bit disappointing to have to sit outside because we had a dog with us. Even a covered awning area would be better. We also had a child with us but we weren't able to take a highchair outside for him! All in all its a lovely place with nice areas to walk & a decent play area.
06/11/2018: Went with my husband daughter and her fiance to view this wedding venue and was blown away not only with the venue itself but the kindness and attention from Ali Boswell herself. Needless to say our daughter and her fiancé booked almost straight away. Beautiful restaurant and gift shop too. Can't wait it for their Christmas Fayre on 24th and 25th of November to show this fabulous venue to my 89 year old mother.

The Glasshouse at Rowallan Castle Golf Club

Annick, East Ayrshire
14/12/2018: The surroundings are stunning in the grounds of Rowallan Castle but I was surprised to see the restaurant almost empty on a Friday lunchtime just before Christmas
18/11/2018: Whilst visiting family in Glasgow decided to have Sunday lunch at Rowallan. What a lovely experience. Set in beautiful grounds the restaurant was bright and welcoming. The menu is varied and all our choices were tasty and of high quality. The staff were extremely friendly and professional. We will definately return in the summer and enjoy the grounds.

cochrane inn

Kilmarnock East and Hurlford, East Ayrshire, 30-45£
15/12/2018: I went to the Cochrane Inn this evening as a party of 5. We all ate from the Xmas menu. I had Cullen Skink and Turkey Dinner. Very good value at £18.95 for two courses. The food we had was very good and healthy portions. Between us we had a mixture of menu options and they were all good. Attentive and friendly staff. I’ve not been here in years but I will be back soon. Lovely restaurant which ticks all the boxes
12/12/2018: Was pleasantly surprised to find the Cochrane has had a bright fresh makeover, and the menu looked inviting.the food came in good time and was well presented and as usual, very flavourful.staff were helpful and in the main cheery which always helps! We were both pleased with our visit and will return.

McChristies Restaurant

Kilmarnock West and Crosshouse, East Ayrshire
08/12/2018: This was my 1st visit to McCristies and it was amazing. The menu was varied and the food excellent. The decor was clean and modern and the service was great. We will be back.
19/11/2018: We visited McChristies as part of our celebration for my Aunt’s 90th birthday. We visited at Saturday lunchtime not realising that there was a special offer on then - 2 courses for £11.95. There were five of us and we all agreed that it was the best steak pie, salmon, lasagne that we’d had in a restaurant. My daughter had a black pudding, bacon and cheese starter which she raved about. She was visiting from London and said she had eaten in Michelin starred restaurants where the food has not been so good! Service friendly and impeccable. Can’t wait to go back on our next visit to Ayrshire. Very highly recommended.

The Fairburn Restaurant

Ballochmyle, East Ayrshire, <20£
20/11/2018: Stayed 3 nights at The Fairburn whilst visiting family in Mauchline. The hotel is very well maintained and managed, staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, our room was spacious, well appointed and welcoming. Breakfasts are hearty with good choices. We dined each evening, the food was very good, well presented and prepared from a varied menu. We particularly liked the tempura prawns, the braised beef and the rib eye steaks were exactly right. Would highly recommend and we look forward to returning very soon to sample more of the lovely dishes.
12/11/2018: Sunday lunch was ok but not great, and the price of drink and the choice was bad the draft lager not good only two choices .

Mamita's Coffee House

Kilmarnock West and Crosshouse, East Ayrshire
12/12/2018: This place has been here for a long time and it always seems to have a steady flow of custom so we thought we would try it for lunch. My Greek salad was dreadful,it was shredded iceberg, red onion, black olives(the worst sort just out of a brine filled jar) and a crumbling of dressing either.that isn't a Greek was supposed to come with crusty bread according to the menu but was served with a slice of brown thin sandwich bread, when I asked about the crusty bread was told they have never done crusty bread, well it's on the blooming menu!I said the bread served didn't go with the food but shoulders were just shrugged and that was that.My mocha was dreadful, weak, watery and didn't have that lovely rich mocha flavour,in fact if it was just an ordinary coffee it was a pretty awful coffee,I left most of it,not impressive for somewhere that calls itself a coffee house.First visit and last.
08/11/2018: Very relaxed and friendly atmosphere in this coffee shop near the town centre. Excellent food and coffee.
