Shahi Darbar

Inverurie and District, Aberdeenshire, >100£
18/08/2017: We ordered food to take away. Staff were very helpful and knowledgeable with regards to dietary requirements which was reassuring. All 3 curries ordered very very authentic and full of flavour. Will definitely and already have been back.
16/08/2017: Went as a group and the restaurant just put food down on the table. All sorts of dishes were served and everything was perfect. Lots of different dishes, for example never had curried rabbit before. Service good although some were kept waiting for drinks.

Christo's Greek Taverna

George St / Harbour, Aberdeen City
16/08/2017: What an experience last night!Filled us all with sheer delight! The aubergine was a dream-In Greece's Corner of Aberdeen. Some had chicken, some had lamb,Some had puff pastry filled with ham;Served up with panache and passion-In the usual Hellenic fashion.
15/08/2017: Well I loved this place. Family run. Dad and son front of house and other son cooking. Fresh and tasty Greek food. Moussaka was brilliant. Good value and excellent service It was a total pleasure. Can't wait to go back and work my way through the menu!

Torry / Ferryhill, Aberdeen City, 60-100£
12/08/2017: We ate at Montmartre on a fairly quiet Thursday night. The service was fast and friendly without being too "in your face".We both ordered the Cote de boeuf and got two perfectly cooked and seasoned steaks - the best I've had in years! We'll be back.
09/08/2017: We came here for the first time for a meal last Friday (04/08/17) and were met by a friendly waitress. We were initially a bit uneasy as the only diners in the restaurant however soon found we had nothing to be worried about and found the whole experience delightful. The watercress veloute was off the menu due to a supplier issue but was replaced by a beetroot risotto with goats cheese and haggis bon bon which we both found delicious. For mains we had the fillet of beef and the duck, and were amazed by how fresh everything was and clearly cooked to order. By this time, the restaurant had started to become busier. The wine was great and we couldn't resist sharing the trio of desserts which finished the meal off well. The waitress was very pleasant and attentive without being overbearing. Overall we had a great night and were impressed with the ambience and standard of food. A great place and we will definitely be back.

Eat on the Green

Mid Formartine, Aberdeenshire
20/08/2017: Visited Eat on the Green last night for the 4th time in 18 months. Although the quality of the food has always been superb the overall experience has been lacking in the past, however last night was in a different league. Service from the time we entered, to courteous attentive drinks service at the table, to good conversation and cocktails with Craig in the lounge after the meal left our party of 4 with a very satisfying evening of food and drink. The experience was faultless and has left all of the party with an eagerness to return. The difference between last night and previous visits was noticeable and commendable.Well done to all the team and good luck with the future plans for the champagne bar.
20/08/2017: We took our staff and wife's out for lunch to celebrate thirty years in business. Exceptional service and food is all I need to say, best food I have tasted in a long while. Very busy even at lunch time, booking essential, as it is not a large restaurant and is very popular!!

Tolbooth Restaurant

Stonehaven and Lower Deeside, Aberdeenshire, 45-60£
21/08/2017: I visited for a Sunday lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. I love the interior of this restaurant and we were lucky enough to be sat at one of the two tables closest to the window overlooking the harbour. The staff were friendly and attentive and took time to describe what was on offer. The food was very well presented and more importantly the flavours and how the fish was cooked was excellent.I have eaten here on a few occasions and each time have had just as good an experience as the last. If you enjoy seafood then this restaurant is a must visit!
21/08/2017: You just can't fault this hidden gem. So much love, care and thought is put in to every dish. I can't wait to go back

India on the Green

Aboyne, Upper Deeside and Donside, Aberdeenshire, 20-30£
20/08/2017: They have a mixed starter platter of seafood and of meat dishes which are very good but don't order popadums then the platter and expect to eat a main with nans and rice afterwards! Too much! Generous portions of mains to suit all tastes though I would have preferred to see them served in bowls so that they could be shared instead of individually plated.
14/08/2017: On a recent visit to Ballater we came across this restaurant and we are so delighted we did. We are lucky enough to live in a town with great Indian restaurants so are often disappointed when we visit an Indians during our holidays. Not the case here - we loved this place. Visited on a Tuesday evening and the place was quite busy with a couple of large groups and several smaller tables occupied. All five people in our party thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the lovely gesture of a free drinks at the end of the meal simply added to the hugely pleasant experience. I will definitely return and recommend to any friends travelling to Ballater

Nooks and Crannies

Fraserburgh and District, Aberdeenshire
11/08/2017: Happened to be wandering around Fraserburgh & stumbled across this wee gem. Food great, friendly service would return for sure.
10/08/2017: This is the best Coffee Shop in Fraserburgh. The Owners, Malcolm and Lynn are very friendly. The Coffee Shop is very clean and all the baking is home made. Thoroughly Recommend that any visitors to Fraserburgh visit the shop, but be advised...... it's very popular and often full!

Castleton Farm Shop and Cafe

Mearns, Aberdeenshire
21/08/2017: The food and service at Castleton is always very good. The waitresses are always very pleasant and the food, despite being cooked to order, appears very quickly. Portion sizes are generous and the food is exceptionally tasty.Lovely cakes and coffee then a wee browse in the shop. We never fail to buy something. This weekend saw a pleasant young man inside the door with a bee hive display. It was absolutely fascinating to look at and he certainly knows his stuff. Very educational for adults and children alike.
07/08/2017: Always excellent service even during busy times! Coffee is lovely and menu is varied but consistently good! I absolutely love the fruit Castleton produces, best strawberries for miles around! Small gift shop has some prepared meals and fruit to purchase as well as gifts/alcohol/chocolates etc. Breakfast menu has all the usual stuff, full breakfast is delicious! Kids menu is good and food always fresh. Would highly recommend!

Cool Gourmet

Stonehaven and Lower Deeside, Aberdeenshire
02/08/2017: We decided to hike into town after visiting Dunnottar Castle in the morning. We arrived in Stonehaven pretty hungry. We originally passed this location not wanting to settle for the 1st place we arrived to despite it being busy with patrons. After walking further into town we realized there weren't many places as busy as the 1st one and decided to go where the locals go. When we walked inside my wife was instantly in love. Ingredients are supplied by local suppliers and everything is made inside the restaurant. Her tea was served in this "omg how cute is this" tea cup and her scone was "to die for".I on the other hand tried my hand at the lasagna which instantly made my wife jealous when it was sat in front of me. Both ended up loving our meals and our experience. While eating, tons of locals were coming in and grabbing items to take home and eat. We did have to wait 10 minutes for a seat but we felt it was well worth the wait and treated it as a punishment to ourselves for passing this place up the 1st time around.
31/07/2017: Simply, an amazing cafe environment, with a cornucopia of fantastic home made wonders. A fantastic choice of 6 delicious soups, four types of yummy scones, and a menu full of real home made food, from lasagna to full Scottish breakfasts, and then there are the cakes. This is reality at its best, and I can't see why it took me so long to find it. A must go experience!

Balmakewan Farm Shop

Mearns, Aberdeenshire, >100£
19/07/2017: This place is just simply brilliant, staff always friendly and helpful. Food is constantly of an excellent standard. If you are in the area would strongly recommend a visit.
15/07/2017: We have called in several time and always been delighted with the quality of the food, the nice selection in the shop and the general friendly ambience of the place. Somewhere to go back to again and again...

The Lochnagar Indian Brasserie

Aboyne, Upper Deeside and Donside, Aberdeenshire, 20-30£
18/08/2017: Compliments to the chef here, probably the best curry I've had and that includes more curry houses than I'd care to admit to. We had a selection including chicken, lamb, scallops, prawns, monkfish and a few other bits, for me every individual meat/fish was very well cooked which is a rarity in itself with such a variety. Added to this the Peshwari naan was excellent, light and fluffy with plenty of coconut and well balanced. The prawns in particular were a real delight, perfectly cooked and clearly well sourced, great size and flavour. This place clearly goes for quality over quantity, not that the portions were small but they certainly were delightful. It's rare for me to be this enthusiastic about a curry but this one was hard to fault so credit where it's due.The staff worked hard and probably could use an extra staff member or two, service was in general very good, polite and quick apart from a slight delay on the bill, no-one was standing around though just very busy so I can understand that.Thoroughly recommended.
18/08/2017: Thoroughly enjoyed the best curry we've had in a long while. Great service and ample portions. This is our second visit and we will return again.

Cafe Boheme

Torry / Ferryhill, Aberdeen City, 20-30£
15/08/2017: This is one of my favourite restaurants and it didn't disappoint when we visited on a Saturday lunchtime recently. The food and service was excellent as always. Genuine French bistro style food and very reasonable prices. Will most definitely return.
A recommander

Kildrummy Inn

Huntly, Strathbogie and Howe of Alford, Aberdeenshire
18/08/2017: Visited the Inn yesterday with friends and we all very much enjoyed our evening. The service was excellent and the food sublime. The menu choices were beautifully balanced, the presentation exquisite and the flavours left you wanting more.I'd call this place a real gem and can't recommend it highly enough.
13/08/2017: Great food and presentation. Excellent wine list. Best creme brulee I have ever had. Could make more use of summer fruits in desserts.

Maggie's Grill

Torry / Ferryhill, Aberdeen City
20/08/2017: Maggie's has been on my (long) list of restaurants to try in Aberdeen for some time, but never got round to visiting as it is always fully booked - now I can see why!The food was fantastic, large potions and tasted amazing! I was recommended the Ribs by a friend, however opted for a burger after seeing the table next to us have their food arrive.Service was fantastic, very friendly and helpful and food arrived in perfect time. Will definitely be back!
20/08/2017: Back again with friends was here a couple of months ago but forgot how much food you get !!! The four of us had main courses only along with drinks. Wasn't fit to eat anything else quality of the food was first class. Recommend that you book a table as always appears to be busy if that's not a sign of good food then what is !!! Will certainly return again Picture of my pulled brisket with fries and pickles etc only extra was the onion rigs
