03/08/2020: My sister was visiting and told us about this place, we booked and not disappointed. Great choice of food, with an excellent 2-course lunch. Worth trying the cocktails, we enjoyed a raspberry martini. Great service and friendly team. We will be back when in the area

The Storehouse

Cromarty Firth, Highland
26/07/2020: Visited in July and was pleasantly surprised to see the woodfired pizza truck. How extremely delicious! The outdoor area was set up very well, with a substantial under cover area. Everything was well organised and I enjoyed the experience. I've been to the cafe during winter-time before the Covid situation and that was a wonderful experience too. Very pleasant staff. Look forward to returning.
25/07/2020: Huge tented area outside with pizza van and no need to go inside so totally safe. Usual great selection of food and drinks and ambience excellent. Staff are young and very competent and helpful. Always a stop off on out travels and the pandemic restrictions have not stopped the quality of the Storehouse offering.

The Lodge

Eilean a' Chèo, Highland
08/08/2020: Edinbane was recommended by our good friend Aeneas O’Hara of independent Scottish travel experts“ Away from the Ordinary”There could not be a more apt title for any review, of any establishment. Firstly a quick resume of our tripDrive from Glasgow to Fort William in some of the worst rain I’ve ever seen. Night stop and on to Skye via the bridge for our first visit to the Isle. After a day spent touring around soaking in fabulous views we arrived at The Lodge around 6pm to be welcomed by some of the most genuinely nice, invested, enthusiastic staff I’ve ever had the pleasure meeting. The surroundings are a delight, no jaw dropping views over cliffs, Glen’s and bays, there a short drive away. Simply the effortless style that immediately makes you relax, and look forward to dinner. In the current COVID norm even the additional measures put in place for everyone’s safety are handled with calm professionalism and a smile behind the mask! After a dozen apologies at least for being unable to help with our luggage we were shown to our family room, room No 4 of only four. Delightful, very comfortable. My wife indulged in a pew dinner bath in the roll top tub. My daughter locked herself away in her own small room and played whatever game 11 year olds play on her device. On what she said was the most comfortable bed she’s ever lay on, so much so she demanded John, front of house, tell her where she could get one. John was an ever present source of information and relaxed chat throughout our very short stay, all from behind what I’m sure is a very uncomfortable mask. We were informed that our dinner reservation for 8.30 could be moved forward to a time of our liking, but with no pressure to do so. The bath, bed and aperitifs in our room ensured we arrived only just before our scheduled timeThe tasting menu is so good words cannot do it justice, you’ll simply have to try it, though it evolves through the season with the local produce available. My daughter accepted the offer of a simple tomato pastaWine list is not huge but has plenty of variety. You can also choose to match wine with each course for an additional charge chosen by the house. The service from Neil and his colleagues, apologies to both for not remembering your names, was professional, informative on each course and charming. The coffee and tea were great, and the Talisker ensured my memory of returning to our room is somewhat vague. You’ll be getting the message that the food is superb, and I haven’t mentioned Calum’s special breakfast yet!!You just have to go. It’s not cheap, but it is worth every penny. We will be back. Stayed 5/6th August 20Than you to Calum, John, Neil and everyone else for the introduction to Skye.
06/08/2020: During our trip to Skye, we treated ourselves to an overnight stay with dinner and breakfast. Food is sensational! We opted for the wine flight with dinner and it was a fabulous accompaniment. Bedroom, and lodge in general, was incredibly stylish and immaculate. Felt entirely covid safe. Compliments to all of the staff who made a wonderful stay, very friendly and welcoming. Absolutely recommend without hesitation! Thanks especially to front of house staff: John, Tui, Noel amd Sergio. We’ll definitely be back.

Cafe 1

Inverness Central, Highland, 30-45£
08/08/2020: Visited Cafe 1 recently after a the easing of lockdown restrictions and it was so good to be back. We had actually experienced their fantastic 'pots to go' service during lockdown but it was so good to be back eating in the restaurant again. Norman is always an excellent host and he and all the staff deliver great service and quality food. All six courses between the 2 of us were fantastic and as always were washed down with a bottle of wine from a great selection. The extra bonus was as we had visited for lunch on a Wednesday at the beginning of August we received £20 off as part of the 'Eat Out to Help Out' scheme and the visit was fantastic value for money. Will keep on returning for a quality dining experience.
02/08/2020: Food and service was great, despite just opening after lockdown, the service. Just a shame it’s so far from me. Definitely worth a visit.

The Seafood Shack

Wester Ross, Strathpeffer and Lochalsh, Highland
22/07/2020: After a lovely day visiting Durness took the road back towards Ullapool & popped into the Seafood Shack for a wee bite to eat & was not disappointed, very yummy & it won’t be my last time - now that I know where it is (unfortunately didn’t take many pictures- only my own)
21/07/2020: Went here today for lunch. He had lobster (HUGE) and I had smoked trout. Service amazing as I am coeliac. They were very knowledgeable and helpful. Quick service too. Food was delicious! Highly recommended

Loch Bay Seafood Restaurant

Eilean a' Chèo, Highland, 60-100£
26/07/2020: This restaurant has been providing take out meals for the local community during lockdown and will re-open soon. We have had three meals which were superb; Lamb Kofta, Chicken Tagine and Thai Chicken Curry. What a great service to the local community!
22/07/2020: The restaurant is really small and it did feel a bit "close". You have to go for a drink in the local pub because there is no bar here but that is not a problem. The service is very relaxed and friendly. The tasting menu was well executed and very focussed on good local produce.

Uig Sands Restaurant

Sgir'Uige agus Ceann a Tuath nan Loch, Eilean Siar
24/02/2020: We were looking for somewhere for us to get a nice seafood dinner while also catering for our four kids between 3-9. Had read that it was child friendly on the reviews and we weren’t disappointed! They had a great little kids menu with pencils to draw on, our kids loved that and the idea that we were out for a “fancy” meal. The music was at a perfect level that we could talk normally but didn’t feel too quiet/formal!We booked through the website on opentable (I would recommend booking as they were closed the first time we tried, our fault). The restaurant is amazingly decorated, the view is to die for and the food top notch. The salt and pepper squid starter was delicious, and the mains were fresh and tasty. Wish we could have stayed for dessert but after ice cream, the kids were ready for the drive back to Tarbert! We will just have to come back on our own some time. Thank you for a delicious meal and to the two ladies who served us.

Sutor Creek

Black Isle, Highland
02/08/2020: My partner and I arrived to the area quite late and realised there was no collection slots available but they said they’d fit us in at close (8pm Sunday) which we greatly appreciated. We ordered the roast beef dinner and it was fantastic, the best slow cooked roast beef we’ve ever tasted. I would go back in a heart beat. The lad on the counter was lovely and the chef was too. If you fancy some tasty cooked hearty meals this is the place to go.
02/08/2020: Excellent seafood pizza and local lager The weather was fine so we were able to eat outside order online and pay online.

Ferry Inn Hotel

Eilean a' Chèo, Highland
18/03/2020: I booked a table for dinner via email and communication was excellent. The restaurant is small so booking is definitely recommended. We enjoyed the food very much and it was all beautifully cooked and presented. Service was very efficient and friendly. Our favourite meal of the 3 we had on our short visit to Skye. The bar looked like a nice place for a drink but one of us unfortunately had to drive.

Ben Nevis Inn

Fort William and Ardnamurchan, Highland
23/07/2020: Went here following TripAdvisor recommendation.... and it lived up to the recommendation! We ate at a few other places in Fort William but this place is a step above then all. Had the venison sausages and they were simply awesome. The restaurant itself is a barn and basic but the food and atmosphere are excellent.
22/07/2020: Enjoyed our food immensely, fish and chips is amazing!! If you're in Fort William you must go. The view and location is also very stunning.
