13/09/2018: Birra ottima. Piatti.... Si dai, a parte l'hamburger un po' mini.... Personale un po' cialtronetto.... Alle 21 ti cacciano quasi.... Il conto te lo propinano loro.... E salato come da norma....

Loch Bay Seafood Restaurant
Eilean a' Chèo, Highland, 60-100£
24/09/2023: Amazing! Loved the experience and would highly recommend. The waiter was a little awkward however he was very knowledgeable. We felt like there was 1 too many courses on the set menu and we would have liked a palette cleanser throughout the courses. Overall, really fantastic meal

Red Roof Cafe Gallery
Eilean a' Chèo, Highland, <20£
29/05/2021: Really enjoyed our trip here. It was very unique with great attention to detail both in the food and the interior. I felt a bit of zen. The drive out is unusual and interesting but really interesting to see the use of fresh ingredients picked straight from the garden and amazingly presented food with companion tea to try. Vegan and gluten free options. We had a laugh with our server. Very welcoming, and well recommended.
28/05/2021: We are what you would call 'foodies'. An essential part of any holiday for us is the food. Our meal at Chidakasha was the best we ate in Skye - even better than the Three Chimneys (rated in the top 100 in the UK) where we also ate - it was one of those rare things; a meal to remember. The food was fresh - we saw some of it being delivered from the garden opposite. The flavours beautifully balanced and exciting, with a unique use of fresh herbs, salad leaves and the odd beautiful flower.

Russell's Restaurant
Caol and Mallaig, Highland, 30-45£
04/06/2022: We didn’t have a booking but the restaurant fitted us in which we really appreciated. We were not disappointed the food was exceptional and so was the service. The menu is small, but perfect. We all ordered a different main course and none of us were disappointed. I have a starter again, beautiful and the rest of the party a dessert again fantastic. The complimentary soup was a nice touch too. It was the first evening of our stay and it could not have been any better. A really great restaurant. Thank you.

Croft 36
Na Hearadh agus Ceann a Deas nan Loch, Eilean Siar
17/10/2020: We were surprised that this place had so little food at 2pm on a Wednesday in October. It’s testament to the popularity of this establishment with its honesty box.One party allowed in at a time with soap and water provided outside, together with sanitiser indoors. The food was really lovely! The vegetarian curry pasty (£3.50) was delicious. The fresh bread (£2) was soft and airy. The gluten free chocolate brownies (£3) very moreish and the Pabbay venison and dumpling (£6) was really tasty.Would certainly recommend!
13/10/2020: Went to Croft 36 after reading reviews and we were not disappointed
Fresh and tasty homemade loafs scones etc and the best curry veg pasty ever along with frangipane tarts Mmmm
A great selection of home cooked meals also available

Fortrose Cafe
Black Isle, Highland, <20£
22/05/2021: We had just spent a week in a cottage on the west coast and decided to split up the drive home and have a wee stop in Fortrose. We popped into this cafe and immediately felt super welcome! The place was spotless and the garden area was super dog friendly. As soon as we sat down the waitress popped over with doggy treats and asked if we needed water for theDogs. We ordered cooked breakfasts and coffees and we all really enjoyed it. Great value, amazing food and friendly hospitality. What more can you ask for! We will 100% be back when we are next in the area :)
30/12/2020: Ein MUSS bei einem Besuch in Fortrose. Alternatives, gemütliches Café mit selbstgemachten Leckereien und warmen frisch zubereiteten Speisen.

Corrour Station House Restaurant
Caol and Mallaig, Highland, 20-30£
11/11/2023: Had 2 nights B&B in the Signal Box, the original building renovated with a 360 degree lounge at the top with cracking views . This place is just amazing. Beautiful scenery, peace and quiet. Accessible only by train or walking in. In Room 3 with double en suite. Great comfortable bed, tea making with a huge choice of teas and hot chocolate. Across the rail track is the Station House restaurant (dog friendly). Breakfast choice is good and the a la carte menu offers a great choice for lunch or dinner. Recommend the venison stew and sticky toffee pudding. The staff are cheery and very friendly. Shout out to Shona, Holly Harry and the team who made the experience all the better. 5* all round.
11/09/2023: We went here on a recommend, we were not disappointed. The place is remote, on the West Coast Railway line. The restaurant is simple in decor and design. The staff are delightful, the menu limited but the choices are excellent, the food was first class, prices reasonable. Strongly recommend a visit. The journey there is beautiful as an extra treat, although our journey home was in the dark!

Ferry Inn Hotel
Eilean a' Chèo, Highland
12/10/2023: Small plates menu was outstanding. Quality of food possibly the best I’ve had on Skye. Every dish was delightful. Very impressed and delighted that this place is our new local pub.
Service was great and ambience lovely. We like the Ferry Inn loads. Thanks guys!
10/10/2023: The Ferry Inn is very simply the best place we have ever stayed….it was the combination of lovely bedrooms, (we sampled two, either side of a trip to the Outer Hebrides!), the lovely people, and the lovely food. Thank you Gordon and Anna for being the perfect hosts, and we can’t wait to come back!!

Cafe Eighty 2
Aird and Loch Ness, Highland
19/12/2022: From the outside it doesn't look like much. You may be tempted to drive on to somewhere with a more scenic view. Don't be! This is one of our favourite stops, with great food and amazing teas. Service isn't always the fastest but it's such a lovely place, with such friendly staff, that I would never complain - we just feel glad we can spend a bit more time here! They have a few things for sale from local artists too. I always look forward to stopping here on our way north, it makes the journey worth it!
07/11/2022: Such a wonderful wee cafe - we were recommended this as a place with some good vegan options and we weren't disappointed! Both of us very much enjoyed our food and the quirky atmosphere. Thank you for the hospitality!

Ellishadder Art Cafe
Eilean a' Chèo, Highland
08/03/2020: Last year we went in here because my daughter was buying a piece of art she had ordered. I saw the scones. We all had delicious scones with drinks. Oh they were so good. We are going to Skye in May and we will definitely be back.
20/01/2020: We stopped in this little studio cafe for lunch after visiting Kilt Rock one rainy, windy summer day. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. The food was good, and Maggie's woven textiles are absolutely stunning. Highly recommended.

Glen Rowan Cafe
Aird and Loch Ness, Highland, <20£
17/05/2021: Stopped for breakfast here while cycling the great glen Way. Vicky and Amy were fantastic and provided excellent service. We had the full Scottish breakfast with Lattes. The food was delicious and coffee excellent. The cafe has both indoor and out door seating. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a bite to eat or coffee and cake while in Invermoriston.
14/05/2021: What a brilliant find. The staff were so friendly. I took my dog and it was such a welcoming atmosphere for doggies. I was so impressed with the food, brilliant value for money and all homemade. I live on the Loch and this is 100% the best cafe in the highlands. The chips are a complete must have along with the daily freshly baked cakes!

Seven Stills
Speyside Glenlivet, Moray
28/10/2023: A truly unique experience made so special by Rose and Patrick. Enter through the beautifully tended back garden into this “secret” restaurant. The decor is eclectic, international and quirky but warm and inviting. Our food was some of the best in Scotland - venison, haggis (yes, the best haggis we had in Scotland was prepared by a French chef!), and the partridge terrine were all spectacular. Don’t expect an effusive American friendliness, but an honest goodness and kindness. Patrick came out after the meal to explain where he shopped for his ingredients and how he lovingly prepared each dish (some of which took several days of preparation). Rose and Patrick made my husband’s sixtieth birthday our most special evening in Scotland. We will absolutely return on our next trip to Islay.
28/10/2023: Exquisite. Wonderful dining experience hosted by the very talented Patrick and Rose. The food, flavours and ambience all contribute to a phenomenal evening. A mandatory visit that won’t disappoint.

The Thistle Stop
Caol and Mallaig, Highland
19/10/2021: Unplanned stop for lunch of toasted cheese sandwiches which were lovely. Pleasant environment with thoughtful additions and great service
25/08/2021: We stopped twice last week on our way to and from Inverness. The food is fresh, tasty and cooked to order. We had lunch, but they also have a varied selection of cakes too. The service is quick and friendly, nothing was too much trouble for Keith and Kay. I would highly recommend and will certainly be back.
