Renfrew North, Renfrewshire, 30-45£
17/03/2019: Always assured of a warm welcome. A restaurant that does everything well. Great food. Good ambiance. Reasonable price. Pleasure going back after a while.
16/03/2019: This was our first time dining in the Piccolo Mondo and we will certainly be back. The service was very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Great choice of dishes from three menus. Food was superb and prices very reasonable. As it was Saturday night the place was packed and seemed to cater well for large groups. Advisable to book. Look forward to visiting again soon.

The River Inn

Houston, Crosslee & Linwood, Renfrewshire
20/02/2019: This is a first for me at River Inn in Crosslee near Houston. Crosslee is a tiny centre of population in Renfrewshire and must cater to the passing trade
30/01/2019: I’ve eaten in the River Inn so many times and it never disappoints. The food is fantastic, the staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is great. The midweek menu and Sunday Carvery are great value for money and nothing is a problem for their chef. My mother in law had asked on the offchance for something a bit different and they served exactly what she wanted. The restaurant & bar areas are finely decorated and the downstairs restaurant also has a family area with a place for kids to play. Definitely worth a visit!

Amaretto Ristorante

2 offers
Bishopton, Bridge of Weir & Langbank, Renfrewshire
19/03/2019: I have visited the upstairs restaurant on previous occasions. Usually have the soup and bruschetta combo and I've noticed that the size of portion has become smaller each time. I had the soup of the day and the bowl was tiny. The bruschetta was not even that - it was a thick piece of white toast with minimal topping. My friend was the same, though her minestrone soup came in a bigger bowl. Tea and scone nice though we've noticed we always have to ask for the scones to be warm (shouldn't this be the default?). Service was friendly but the young man seemed in a hurry all the time. Not sure if will go back in the near future.
19/03/2019: Good food and first class service. Plenty of choice on both the food and drinks menu. Specials of the day are worth looking at.

Dani's Diner

Erskine & Inchinnan, Renfrewshire
27/11/2018: I have always had a carry oot from here in the past, but this time we decided to sit in as we were there during the day for a change, I had the "prime cut" haddock with chips/mushies/ tea and bread and butter....no idea how they do it for the money, it's a BIG meal and was perfectly cooked!
16/11/2018: Ordered food at around 16.15 on Friday 16 November 2018 for home delivery for 18.15 that evening.

Trattoria Roma

Johnstone North, Kilbarchan & Lochwinnoch, Renfrewshire
02/02/2019: We had a meal with friends here last week. We're lucky enough to catch the pre theatre deal even though we were a bit late. Excellent value and choice as always. The spaghetti with tiger prawns from the main menu was excellent and definitely worth trying. Everything on the pre theatre also very tasty. Really nice atmosphere and brilliant staff as always.
20/01/2019: Been patrons of this restaurant for years, our first choice for all family occasions, food and service always to the highest standards. My wife is celiac and always catered for without fuss or issue.

Castelvecchi

Paisley East & Ralston, Renfrewshire
19/01/2019: was dropping of my son and his wife at glasgow airport with the great reviews i read on trip advisor we hunted it down after i bit of time hunting down wee eventually found it. but wish we had not went to the trouble.to say it was a step back in time is a under statement the fish and chips were not nice and wrapped in newspaper would not visit again
06/01/2019: My wife had been raving about this place for aeons, she's a local girl so knows her stuff. I'm from yorkshire and know my stuff too, it's just different to her stuff. I'm waffling. We visited with the kids and mum in law and after the enormo portions we had to be rolled out of the cafe. Can't wait to visit again!

Brown Bull

Johnstone North, Kilbarchan & Lochwinnoch, Renfrewshire, <20£
02/03/2019: I've lived in Lochwinnoch for 18 months now and whilst I am a frequent visitor to the pub and its bar snacks, I've never been to the upstairs restaurant until tonight. A busy pub downstairs, yet an ambient calm atmosphere upstairs. We had a both, that probably could sit four, but was luxurious for two. The house wine, as always, is really reasonably priced at £11 per bottle and the service from Andrew was outstanding. Even though we feel we've gotten to know this pub so well downstairs, it was a complete revelation to enjoy the upstairs dining experience. The set meal for three courses was £25, but what we didn't realise is that there are a couple of appetizers(or amuse bouches) first. As vegetarians, we checked what these were. I have quite a small appetite, so was aware I didn't want to fill myself up too much beforehand. We had a couple of veggie haggis and green pea balls with sugared beetroot, followed by a mustard and cabbage soup. I'm also a relatively conservative eater and renowned for eating anything veggie as long as it's covered in cheese sauce. With no cheese sauce present throughout our meal, I was astounded by the combination of flavours. Then it was time for our starter, a parsnip parcel with some sort of amazing sauce. It wasn't too filling, which I was pleased about, as that left room for our main course. The veggie option was a combination of Salsify (an education for me that this is a delicious root veg), leeks, carrots and spinach with an orange glaze. It all worked perfectly, and if anything I would have enjoyed more as the main, but at least it meant I had room for a dessert. This was basically a deconstructed trifle and utterly delicious. It's got to be the first time in a while that I've cleared every plate. I can't recommend this eaterie highly enough. Full marks to the chef and staff.
01/03/2019: The Brown Bull was a regular haunt of mine when as a student in 1959 I spent the summer in Lochwinnoch doing vacation work at Muirshiel Mine in the hills beyond the town. The excellence of the pub, it's atmosphere, it's charm and it's warmth have always held in my heart, and I was only too delighted to have the opportunity to visit the Brown Bull again in February 2019, 60 years later. I was not disappointed - there have been changes of course, but the feel and character of the establishment are all that they were and Always have been. This is a great pub to be enjoyed, with fine staff and a quality kitchen and menu. Long may the Brown Bull thrive and welcome both locals and travellers.

The Houston Inn

Houston, Crosslee & Linwood, Renfrewshire
02/03/2019: Great pub and good atmosphere, but the choice for vegetarians in this day in age is disappointing. 1 starter (Nachos) and the only main course is pizza. Forget it if you’re vegan. Won’t be back to eat but good for a few drinks and nice beer garden.
06/01/2019: Went here on 2nd January and met family as a new year ‘catchup’ it was great. We ended up staying for food. Recomend? DEFINITELY!

The Heera

Renfrew South & Gallowhill, Renfrewshire
14/03/2019: Bought chicken pakora to take away and was very disappointed as the chicken pieces were the size of peas and the rest made up of batter , 2% chicken -98% batter, wont be going back
02/03/2019: We visited the take away. The restaurant was very busy, and we waited ages on the food, but appreciated it was freshly cooked. Well worth the wait - vegetable pakora, vegetable biryani, prawn korma, naan and poppadoms. We also ordered chips, which can be a hit or miss, but they were great too! Staff were lovely, and we'll definitely be back.
