Rock Salt and Snails

Aboyne, Upper Deeside and Donside, Aberdeenshire
11/02/2019: Lovely little cafe , I ordered smoked salmon and scrambled eggs and my husband had a toasted ciabatta . I was absolutely full after eating this so much so I couldn't order one of their unusual cakes. Nice big pot of tea and lovely coffe.
25/11/2018: Relaxing Sunday lunch. Great atmosphere. Friendly people. Good food. Excellent coffee. A local must.

Las Iguanas

Torry / Ferryhill, Aberdeen City, <20£
11/03/2019: Great cocktails and drinks with lots of choice and very well priced everyday and night of the week! There is a nice seating area for just drinks as well as a large area for dinner (excellent tapas)
04/03/2019: Often visit here for a quiet drink when in town. This place can get very busy but has an outside overflow of general seating. The food always looks and smells great, toilets are clean and the Brazilian beer is always fresh and cold!

The Albyn

Hazlehead / Ashley / Queens Cross, Aberdeen City
22/04/2018: We visited this restaurant for a lunch on Sunday. The food and drinks were amazing, but some days after this restaurant finished working. Unfortunately

Lastbus Works Canteen

Fraserburgh and District, Aberdeenshire
02/10/2018: A vegetarian restaurant with a great view. The staff are brilliant and the food is freshly made and is very good. It's a must go to places a review would not do the restaurant justice so just go you wont be disappointed.
31/08/2018: Quirky. Wonderful. 60’s/70’s timewarp. Friendly and welcoming. All these words and phrases, and many more, go to sum up this uniquely unusual restaurant! It’s not the sort of restaurant/cafe that you happen upon by accident! You have to know where it is! And it’s worth the hunt!

Findlay's Hotel and Restaurant

Fraserburgh and District, Aberdeenshire
10/12/2018: I went to this hotel last Friday evening with a coach load of friends and we had the Christmas menu and it was fantastic we could not fault it at all, the food was nicely presented and piping hot and tasted divine, the staff were all nice and friendly and the décor in the restaurant is very nice as well with a lovely stained glass roof.
23/08/2018: I booked 2 rooms at Findlay’s Hotel for 18th & 19th August. One for my 79 year old parents and one for myself and 9 year old son. The rooms are dated and not so nice as some hotels I have stayed in but we all agreed they were clean and comfortable. The only complaint (although not really a complaint more of an observation) is that a bath mat should be provided for safety reasons both my dad & son slipped in the shower (thankfully no harm done).

The Mither Tap Restaurant

West Garioch, Aberdeenshire
04/05/2018: We stayed a night at the MacDonald Pittodrie House (which I also recommend) and decided to eat here despite so-so reviews. The lamb was delicious, as was what they did to haggis to enable me to try it! It came mixed with couscous in little panko encrusted balls, with a side of arugula. The bread was lovely. The whole hotel is relaxed elegance, and the very high ceilings and windows, the wood fire, tall candles and attentive service from both the restaurant staff and Rebecca at reception made us feel special and yet, at home.
23/10/2017: Went here for dinner as a birthday treat with high expectations and unfortunatley left feeling rather underwhelmed and disappointed. We had booked a table for 7pm and upon arrival we were sat in the drawing room to peruse the menu and have a couple drinks. The place wasn't busy with only 1 other couple waiting to dine and a couple residents floating about but not dining.

Bar Bacoa Cafe Bar

Hazlehead / Ashley / Queens Cross, Aberdeen City, 20-30£
02/03/2017: stopped in here as weather was too poor to venture outside, costa coffee and large cups and equally large muffins. Very nice and comfortable
16/09/2016: The Bar Bacoa was replaced some years ago at the Treetops hotel. It has been modernised and is now called the Springfield's bar and lounge. Very good food menus with several very popular dishes all well presented by helpful friendly staff
