Blas Restaurant at Twr y Felin

St. David's, Pembrokeshire, 20-30£
17/06/2019: Twr Y Felin is an anachronism - though none the worse for that. An ultra fashionable hotel/restaurant with many modern oil paintings and a fabulous revamp of an old favourite in St Davids. More suited to Soho than drizzling Pembrokeshire coast. Staff were (over) attentive and very friendly.
01/06/2019: On the way to a Michelin star I feel, service is good, attentive but not overly.

Blue Ball Restaurant

Tenby: South, Pembrokeshire, >100£
12/06/2019: A last minute to decision to eat, the Blue Ball were very accommodating at 8.30 on a blustery Tuesday night in June. A cosy traditional Bistro feel with exposed brick walls and archways.
05/06/2019: Visited this restaurant in May 19, and would say it was probably the best place to eat in Tenby. The staff were attentive, pleasant and courteous, and the food was very good quality, I would recommend a visit.

Belle Vue Inn

Llanfihangel-ar-Arth, Carmarthenshire, <20£
18/05/2019: Lovely little place. Everything on the menu sounded lovely, the set menu looked really good value & all portion sizes were plentiful! I had the chicken wrapped in ham & hubby had pork belly with crackling to die for. Beautifully presented food & welcoming staff. Would defiantly recommend & return many thanks
18/05/2019: We are visiting the area and on our last night thought we would check out the local bars and restaurants. We found this online 10 mins down the road from where we were staying. Great food, decent portions, great price. Hidden gem. If you are in the area I’d recommend you visit. We arrived at 630 and it started to get busy which is always a good sign.

Diablo's on the Quay

Carmarthen Town South, Carmarthenshire
10/06/2019: Had a light dinner here. Great drinks. Reservations highly recommended--we got a table, but only because we were early.
19/02/2019: Been here a few times......even to take my two elerdly Aunts out one night. It’s never going to be anything more than a pub grub place. But that okay.....when you compare it to other places in Carmarthen, who attempt to serve the same sort of grub ( eg the Caraway) it’s way better. Staff are always busy, so sometimes the wait is a little longer than you’d want. But most of the time it okay. I don’t think I have ever had anything other than fish and chips and the veggie burger when they did it. But can’t ever remember anything that’s put me off, ......beer is okay, wine okay, service good, food what you’d expect .......it’s pretty much all you want for mid week 40 quider,

Bowen's Fish & Chip Shop

St. Dogmaels, Pembrokeshire
06/06/2019: Okay, so the establishment itself is looking a bit tired, you’re there to get fed right !!
04/06/2019: Bought two lots of Fish and Chips on Saturday Lunchtime. All freshly cooked, good fresh products. Nice friendly owners, such a delightful change from the faceless chain style Fish & Chip shops.

The Castle Inn

Manorbier, Pembrokeshire
13/06/2019: We booked a table at 7:30 for 4 adults and 3 young children. Arrived on time and placed our food orders soon after. After an hour of waiting our food was nowhere to be seen. On inquiring and the staff weren’t very apologetic and didn’t seem to care. One of the waitresses did make an effort after the fact to apologise and be as helpful as possible. The food took a further 20 minutes to come out and at this point the kids were virtually asleep and wouldn’t touch their food. We made a complaint and was offered a discount and free ice cream, which we turned down as this wasn’t really appropriate considering how late it was for the kids. We quickly ate our food and packed up to leave. I went to settle the bill and suggested that I’d like the kids meals for free as compensation. I waited for the landlord to come out of the kitchen to discuss the matter. The first thing he said when he came out was “I’m not going to give you a discount”. I explained the situation with the children, at which point something in his head flipped and he turned into the Hulk. At the top of his voice, making sure everyone in the pub heard him - “HOW DARE YOU, IN MY PUB. GET OUT OF MY PUB NOW. DON’T COME BACK HERE” at this point the whole pub was silent and in shock. I respected his wishes and got out of there as quickly as I could in fear of what might happen next, as he followed me to the door continuing to shout. Fortunately the children had already left and didn’t witness this unjustified act of aggression. I’ve never experienced anything like this before and certainly won’t be going back there. Such a shame as on the face of it the pub looks really nice.
08/06/2019: Stopped here to sample the cider whilst my Wife and child went to the nearby beach, i spent a very pleasant hour here in the beer garden / terrace at the rear of the pub, there was building work going on at the time, other than that it was well kept and the cider was excellent.

Wiseman's Bridge Inn

Amroth, Pembrokeshire
17/06/2019: What lovely welcoming pub and restaurant. Whilst holidaying in the Wiseman's Bridge area my two friends and I went for lunch at the Wiseman's Bridge Inn. We sat in the very clean restaurant and our waitress Hannah took our order of Fishpie, Ham, egg & chips and Scampi and chips. We were served quickly, all the food was hot and Hannah was a excellent source of local knowledge. We were so impressed we returned later in the week for and evening meal. This time we choose Wiseman Bridge classic chicken x 2 and Lemon chicken with a herb crumb. We we're disappointed. We opted for chips with two of the meals and garlic potatoes for the third meal. All this came accompanied by a selection of additional vegatables. Our selection consisted of red cabbage, carrots and cauliflower cheese. Once again our order was taken by Hannah and we were served by a couple of young men who were most polite and attentive. Well done everyone at the Wiseman Bridge Inn. I was disappointed to read some of the negative reviews for this establishment and can t believe they were talking about the same place. Of course when it's busy you have to wait and in this day and age you're bound to have some food that is heated in a microwave oven but we honestly had no complaints and would visit there again!
14/06/2019: This pub was recommended by a friend who visited it before . The pub was full of smelly wet dogs !!! The smell was over powering that a local came by us to open all the windows . We decided to eat here but not in the pub part but in their restaurant away from dogs , my partners lamb was nice but my sweet and sour chicken was made from frozen chicken strips in a jar sauce , stodgy rice and obviously a chicken ding meal ( microwave) the location , views and beach are lovely for early evening stroll . Staff young and caught two of them joking around with each other groping each other which is fine but not proffesional In front of customers .

The Bar

Neyland: East, Pembrokeshire
07/06/2019: Visited for Sunday Lunch. Opted not to have a starter which was just as well as the main course consisted of VERY generous portions of both meat and vegetables all beautifully cooked and presented. The desserts were also presented very well and were certainly not the miniatures some places serve. Service was swift and friendly and drink prices reasonable. The only downsides were an exterior flight of steps to reach the first floor location - very much offset by the view of the marina and beyond and the low ceiling can make the fully booked venue somewhat noisy - especially if you have a middle aged oaf obviously wanting the whole room to know that he was buying a round - but perhaps it was such a rare event that it needed a fanfare. Even he didn't spoil a very enjoyable meal.
02/06/2019: Been here twice now, first time was breakfast which was great and the second time was lunchtime and again definitely not disappointed.

Diablo's

Narberth, Pembrokeshire, 20-30£
07/08/2016: Called at Diablos last week and they are no longer open. A new steak house is opening soon which promises to be good. I think it is called Market Square Chop House and Grille.

Mansion House Restaurant

Carmarthen Town South, Carmarthenshire
31/03/2019: This was our first visit for food. It was Mother’s Day, so we expected it to be busy. As it happens, that didn’t matter at all. As soon as we arrived we were welcomed by fantastic friendly staff; from the chap in the car park to the front of house and the team of waiters/waitresses. They were lovely and friendly and showed no signs of stress given how busy it was. The children were also made to few at home.
13/02/2019: Attended Sunday lunch and had booked because of the avertisment that it was 2 rosettes. we were shown to our table in a very bland, large room wich looked as if it was still being renovated, no plants, no curtains no atmosphere!

Swallow Tree Gardens Restaurant

Saundersfoot, Pembrokeshire
14/06/2016: when my wife and I arrived we were told that the restaurant was closed because the owners had "done a runner".Been more agreeable had we been notified by e-mail before we arrived.

crug-glas country hotel&resteraunt

St. David's, Pembrokeshire
20/07/2017: My large party had an excellent dinner here on Friday night.Very good choice of starter and mains and I could not resist the rice pudding cooked in the Aga.Definitely worth a visit.
22/06/2017: This would have been 5 stars had they pitched their prices at a slightly lower market. An attractive setting and very friendly service, but the slightly pretentious menu is not backed up by the kitchen skills one would expect at this mid-upper price bracket. Lamb was rather overcooked not served pink as advised, and was accompanied by an incompatible combination of colcannon, dauphinoise potatoes and a strange tomato and vegetable timbale, with a reduction that lacked intensity of flavour. Risotto was commendably perfect in texture, but was swimming in butter and strangely this was accompanied by roast potatoes! All in all a pleasant evening with excellent service, but overpriced by about £5 per main for the quality offered.
