The Jolly Sandwich

Portora, Fermanagh
15/12/2018: If you want to get a nice smack and coffee/tea or what ever this is the place to go. They have a wide selection to suit all tastes. Also carry outs if you like. Around lunchtime can be busy but always found a sit. The staff and owner always gives you a warm welcome and on leaving a nice friendly smile.Which is always appreciated by the customers.
18/11/2018: This little gem of a restaurant does excellent sandwiches and salads with a range of desserts to choose from. The highlight of our visit was the coconut and raspberry cake which was unusual and delicious. We would certainly return next time we are in the area.

Browns

Ebrington, Derry
15/12/2018: First class night - varied menu beautifully prepared with no skimping on the early bird menu. Pleasant informed staff with very prompt service - recommend strongly.
14/12/2018: We had an outstanding meal, with Browns once again being on top of its game. The food was perfect and the service was exemplary. I was blown away by the Christmas pudding souffle desert - quite brilliant!

Franco's Restaurant

Portora, Fermanagh, <20£
06/01/2019: My sister and I had dinner here last week, the main restaurant was so busy, they took us to another dinning room,no atmosphere and had to keep our coats on as it was so cold.
02/01/2019: There is a great buzz in this restaurant; however, the service can vary according to the time of day. The food can also vary from poor to mediocre. I think it is overpriced for what you get.

Pyke 'N' Pommes

Strand, Derry
11/11/2018: Great burger and great value 7.50 for burger and chips. One of the best burgers I have had. Must do gggggggggg
08/11/2018: As I was reading past reviews of Pyke ‘N’ Pommes, I was expecting a nice meal in a cute little setting next to a food truck. Guys, the best reviews of this place do not even do it justice! This isn’t your run-of-the mill food truck experience. First of all, the food will rock your socks. My husband had the Legendary Burger with fries, and I had the fish taco and squid taco. They were AWESOME SAUCE. To be honest, I still regret not going back for a second squid taco (insert sigh of disappointment). Now, let’s talk about atmosphere. This place nailed it. You have plenty of outdoor seating that is covered for those unexpected changes in weather. The best part? There is indoor seating as well. “What kind of indoor seating?” you may ask. Well, I’ll tell you. It’s a bus. That’s right! A vintage double decker bus that’s been remodeled into a diner! It’s the bees knees! Not to mention, it’s right on the water. Lunch and a view? Yes, please! To say we can’t wait to go back is an understatement. This place is easily our favorite place to eat in Derry.

Cedar A taste of Lebanon

The Diamond, Derry
13/12/2018: We have eaten here quite a few times. It is outstanding. The atmosphere and setting is beautiful. Makes you feel like you are abroad on holiday. We had the owener Bernadette order for us based on her recommendations. Just incredible. We where joined by her husband the chef for a glass of wine at the end of the evening which was a lovely touch. Cant wait to go again
08/12/2018: Was very impressed with this friendly intimate restaurant on a par with ANY Lebanese restaurant we have been in all over the world including the Middle East.

Pat's Bar & Grill

Portora, Fermanagh, <20£
31/12/2018: We went for a meal tonight with our parents. The restaurant has been newly renovated and is quite welcoming and friendly. We sat at empty table that had been cleared but the seats had some food on them where the table had been wiped but any leftovers not cleared up.
30/11/2018: They also do a great cup of tea. Sometimes people just do not think to go to a pub for a cup of tea. Well that is what we did. Having looked round some pretty lifeless cafes in town we all went in for a cup of tea. Nice huge pot of tea each no less that gave you 3 cups each. Nice pub ambience, log fire as well. Service perfect. Price perfect. Any chance of some biscuits Pat???

Everyone enjoyed there main I went for the beef burger from a local butcher the meat was tasteful and tender. No complaints with the food, the staff were very helpful and attentive. 16/12/2018: Firstly the location is very convenient in the city centre. We had the most delicious homemade lasagne. Despite good food the service and overall hospitality is poor. Staff not attentive and lacked sincerity. We will not be back. Your spoilt for choice in Derry. Go the exchange before going here!
15/12/2018: We go here every Christmas and our visit tonight was great Food was so so good and dessert amazing Will always return service was great and lovely Managers Mark and John so nice and welcoming

QUAYWEST

Strand, Derry, <20£
16/12/2018: My first visit was with my family on Wed 12 December. Really nice place but was very disappointed to find the restaurant upstairs was not accessible for me due to a long flight of stairs. I had prebooked the meal for after my daughters graduation that day. I had said previously on my booking email that I cant climb stairs due to mobility problems but no mention was made to me at any time we would have to have our meal downstairs in the bar area.
16/12/2018: You are spoilt for choice of places to eat in Derry. We had not been to Quaywest for a while. Sadly a very disappointing meal. Service very slow and inattentive. Our main courses came in 3 batches. Manager did offer us a free dessert as an apology. But really did make the experience better. Sadly will not be back.

Cafe Merlot

Portora, Fermanagh
14/12/2018: Excellent service and very friendly staff. Food was really beautiful and you could not beat this place on value for money. Good ingredients, cooked well. A great combination.
18/11/2018: The first impression was terrible, a very loud manager continuously shouting at staff to work harder. Then my main course was cool and had to be reheated. My wife's chicken was undercooked and pink. I will not be returning.

Browns in Town

Strand, Derry, 20-30£
11/12/2018: This was my favorite place to eat, as you can see from a past review I left 3 years ago, and my opinion stayed constant until yesterday. Going out for a meal is a treat and Derry has a lot of good restaurants but I would invariably opt to go to either Browns of Bonds Hill for special occasions or Browns in Town for slightly more casual dining as I have had wonderful food in both and felt this was guaranteed, so I felt terribly let down by the food that was served last night. This was from the Christmas menu at £23 for 2 courses or £27 for 3.
09/12/2018: Tha Restaurant was very cold , asked waiter to turn air con off , he did but we were still cold.: we had 2 coarse meal .i had the Chowder to start , it was beautiful.I went f or the TurkeyxHam it was just ok . I would not rush back again .

Finn Lough Kitchen

Belleek and Boa, Fermanagh, 30-45£
15/10/2018: The best meal we've had in Ireland. They took good care of us and we were happily surprised to find staff that could speak chinese with us in such a remote area. Lovely atmosphere at the bar downstairs.
08/09/2018: It’s 2 years since I last reviewed, and pleased that this restaurant is as good as before. The service is efficient and friendly. Dietary requirements are asked when booking. A good choice of wines, as well as the menu gives plenty of choice. I had the most delicious soup , full of flavour without being over seasoned. Followed by succulent chicken that was cooked to perfection. My dining companion had ham hock, followed by lamb. We both loved our food, served in very relaxing surroundings. The food and service were exceptional.
