The Bawn Pantry

Hamiltonsbawn, Armagh
08/03/2020: Visited for the first time on Saturday while visiting family. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Menu was excellent - I’m vegan and 10 year old daughter is vegetarian. Vegan option was delicious and my daughter was able to choose the salads she wanted with her lunch - lots of options - all freshly made and healthy! My sister had the steak sandwich which she said was delicious too! Would definitely go back and would highly recommend!
05/03/2020: On the strength of friends and family recommendation we headed out to the Bawn Pantry for a spot of lunch .Despite being very busy we received a warm welcome from the owner James and a table swiftly found and cleared for us .I had the chicken and mushroom pie which had a lovely light buttery pastry .Yum!Mum and Dad had the soup and sandwich combination which both really enjoyed! Service was speedy despite being so busy Loved it all.Thank you James and all the team at Bawn Pantry We will be back

Portmore House

Charlemont, Armagh
16/03/2020: Called in for Sunday lunch, its been a while from our last meal here, and we weren't disappointed on this visit either. We had 3 turkey and ham while I had the roast beef, good selection of vegetables to compliment the meat, roast potatoes and all the trimmings, extra gravy was no problem, we skipped the starter and all had desert. Main course was nice and hot ,served on hot plates ( which is a must in my eyes )the selection of deserts were spot on, all staff were very plesant and helpfull all in a nicely decorated restaurant.Portions were generous to say the least, scoring a 10 out of 10 from all four of us. Their top reviews are well deserved, but be warned it is a popular restaurant and booking is advisable at the usual peak times. Always well worth a visit !
16/02/2020: Top marks for food and service. Had medallions of beef and it’s been awhile since I’ve tasted beef as good. Quality supplier of beef to the restaurant no doubt! Service was great ,staff excellent, chef prepared a great meal and such a helping of food! Thoroughly recommended, well done!

Rice's Hotel

Poyntz Pass, Armagh
09/03/2020: After reading the reviews we thought we would be in for a treat..... but we were sadly disappointed ! I ordered stroganoff and it was so salty , after a few mouthfuls inedible. Out of five people the only meal that was enjoyed was the fillet steak! What a shame the restaurant was tastefully decorated and the waiting staff superb.Just very disappointed with the food on my birthday!!
23/02/2020: Had ment to call on a number of occasions and finally got in today. Should have done it much earlier.A warm welcome, to a homely restaurant/ bar.We ate in the bar area as the restaurant is for bookings only.Lamb, with veg, roast and mash potatoes and the Salmon was our choice of main, with pate as a shared starter, and it did not disappoint. Will definitely return.

Bagel Bean

Callan Bridge, Armagh
20/03/2020: We stayed at 7 houses guesthouse crossed the street and part of the deal was breakfast at Bagel Bean. Armagh is very lucky to have a place like this in town. Delicious food and excellent service.
18/03/2020: I always have the BC Classic Melt which tastes incredible. The restaurant is always super busy which is great but a lot of people come in and get takeaways. As you walk through the door there are tables on the left which means when people are queuing and waiting for their food, people are stood over those who are eating their food, usually with bums in their faces.

Sintons at the bridge

Poyntz Pass, Armagh
25/02/2020: I have booked the function room and catering facilities on 2 May next for my 80th birthday . fhiyjk hjbhkb vnnnv
20/02/2020: Been here lots of times and love the food staff ambience value today we where disappointed. Ploughmans platter was not up to its usual standard pickled veg poor no chutney. Bread was hard. Chicken ceaser salad topped with boiled egg. Never had that before. and do not want it again plus my chicken had a coloured spicy coating not the usual sliced tender soft chicken breast no crispy bacon sliced ham instead disappointing today

Groucho's Cafe Bar

Rich Hill, Armagh
01/02/2020: Had seen the specials menu on facebook and decided to visit for dinner. All the food was amazing, hubby had a dish called the farmyard, steak, lamb, sausage, bacon and egg with chips, i had the sirloin steak, cooked perfectly. Very good value for money and we will be back. The staff were friendly and service was brilliant.
22/12/2019: We were in Richill and decided to call in for our tea. Had zingy chicken burger with bacon and cheese and smoky bacon chips and pepper sauce. Prices reasonable. Service was friendly. Overall would go back

Toni’s Bar & Grill

Observatory, Armagh
14/01/2020: I usually go out here with my girlfriend once or twice a month for an evening meal which is always lovely. This morning Tuesday the 14th, we went out for breakfast for my girlfriend’s birthday and it couldn’t have been better. We both ordered the New York styled breakfast, though I changed mine up slightly. Despite my girlfriend and I being awkward orderers, our server Michael couldn’t have been more accommodating and polite. He made two milkshakes, one strawberry and one honeycomb which were delicious. The owner also chatted with us for a bit which was nice and we received brilliant service from the friendly Michael. The food was great too, I’ve never had a bad meal in Toni’s and I couldn’t recommend it more :)
05/12/2019: I like garlic , so the garlic chips for me were amazing :) Had a steak and chips cooked as requested and quantity was good - however you are not going to a high end restaurant here for the visitor you could describe this restaurant as a Frankie and Benny's clone - not a bad thing if that is what you want. Excellent service :)

Mulberry Bistro

Callan Bridge, Armagh
24/05/2020: Lockdown Sunday lunch takeaway and it was really good. Everything cooked to perfection and Cormac serving at the front of house. Food and service superb. Will return.
18/03/2020: I came here for breakfast with my mum and had Eggs Benedict which was lovely and only about £5. As im pregnant I can only have eggs runny with the lion stamp and the waitress was happy enough to bring out the eggs to show me. Good service and lovely food.

12/02/2020: Went here last week for a pre theatre dinner.hadn't pre booked, was seated downstairs, waited and waited,15 mins went by,no service, not even a drink.Few people came in after us,they got served, while we waited discovered 2 dirty knives on table.put us off altogether..we waited 20 mins on all.Walked out and went to Uluru next door, served right away staff were lovely and food was lovely.

Killylea, Armagh
07/03/2020: My wife and I hadn’t been here for years and what a pity, this is a little gem of a place the food is excellent and perfectly cooked the staff are friendly and attentive pay Digby’s a visit you won’t be disappointed
26/01/2020: We were staying in Castle Leslie with limited food options in the surrounding village, and were going to visit Armagh. Digby's was the perfect place to get a meal, situated about halfway between the two. It was a busy Friday evening, and luckily we could get a table. It was good value set menu, and I really enjoyed my salmon. They also have a selection of interesting gins!

Alexanders of Markethill

Markethill, Armagh
21/01/2020: A cafe in a shop (gift shop, small department store). Outstanding food, all made locally, deserts all from scratch and of the highest quality. Locally famous for the lemon meringue pie. Host many special event evenings. A must eat here if anywhere near the area. Very good staff, very friendly service.
09/12/2019: We were invited to Alexanders by a good friend (travelling around 40 miles from Lisburn).A very spacious store that didn't disappoint. It was a Christmas Wonderland. Young children and toddlers were obviously mesmerised. The displays were innovative and artistic; it must have taken many devoted hours (and expense) to create. There is a lift as well as an impressive staircase to the upper floor - which houses further displays and the Restaurant. Our Christmas "Dinner" was served promptly; it was nicely cooked, tasty and served in generous amounts.Hygiene seemed good and service was prompt. All the staff were helpful - but very busy.It is obviously a very popular restaurant with locals and visitors alike. Our 80-mile return journey was definitely worth it.Highly recommended - especially during the Christmas Season.

Scarva Visitor Centre

Poyntz Pass, Armagh
06/02/2020: Stopped in for breakfast and was well surprised at the new bright tea rooms, was greeted by a very pleasant lady who handed me a menu with a smile and a good morning, ordered poached eggs and bacon with coffee, about 5 minutes breakfast arrived well presented and very tasty proper think bacon. Will return again and happy to recommend
11/09/2019: Expected to eat outside given we had a little dog with us, but no, invited in, albeit to a small conservatory just off the main restaurant, the place was busy but a very helpful young lady took time to go through the menu and suggest alternatives. The food was very tasty and reasonably priced, I was of the impression that the staff were a team and went all the way to provide a very good service. Well done team, be back soon.

The Craic'd Pot Coffee House

Callan Bridge, Armagh
20/02/2020: Called in for an Americano Take Away, 2 young people serving, without asking i was served an americano with milk!!! I wasnt even asked if i wanted milk, the young lady serving couldnt wait to get back to her mobile phone. I love the coffee and the decor of this place but the service is really terrible, usually young people flirting with no interest other than checking their phones, cant they be made leave their phones in the staff room?????
12/01/2020: Went here for lunch with wife toddler and 9mth old, stag were great and patient with us, for ease very good and desserts were delicious too. Can recommend the sausage rolls.

04/06/2020: Usually sit in. Had take away in lockdown. Can safely say was nicest takeaway I’ve ever had. Better than any chinese or chippy in area
07/04/2020: Please find photo attached of “kebab meal”. Terrible feed and tiny portion. £6.50 having a laugh. Won’t be back. Worst Indian ever been to
