The Guillemot

Harbour, North Down, <20£
11/12/2018: brilliant brunch, quick service and the food was perfect. the plates were very hot mind you, so had to wait for the food to cool but didnt take away from a lovely place
10/12/2018: This coffee shop/restaurant is very good with a good range of choices to eat or drink. However there isn’t all that much room on a busy day. Still good though

Coq & Bull

Clandeboye, North Down
17/12/2018: Food is good and well prepared..caters for most budgets... small but nice atmosphere so you will probably need to book....friendly polite staff...well worth a visit
16/12/2018: This restaurant is set in a beautiful building with a stunning Christmas tree visible through the chapel style window at one end. A host of other tasteful decorations added to the festive atmosphere. The menu offered a wide choice and there was a children’s menu. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food was lovely - I had beef brisket which was delicious. A lovely evening out!

The Boathouse Restaurant

Harbour, North Down
17/12/2018: We visited The Boat House for my partners birthday and were totally blown away by the amazing food and excellent service. Jonathan was a delight with his knowledge and recommendations. This taster menu is not to be missed and the wine is paired to perfection. I enjoyed it so much I'll be back next week!
17/12/2018: Excellent meal at the Boathouse. Perfect and delicious tasting menu with excellent wine pairing. 7 courses each with a variety of local ingredients, perfectly cooked and presented. Jonathan had an excellent knowledge of wine and matched the food perfectly. Overall service was outstanding, the atmosphere was relaxed and intimate. The staff were so attentive, the food was the best I’ve ever had, the wine matching was perfect. I will definitely be back to this amazing restaurant and could not recommend it enough.

The Dirty Duck

Holywood Demesne, North Down
02/12/2018: Coming here for many years - from across the Lough (must be worth it..) - for weekend family stuff (oldies/kids/the rest) - and ‘Boys’ lunches/dinners. Food is the comfort variety and ranges from fairly good to occasionally spectacular specials (seafood is good bet), the bonus for me is proper ales, a well priced, well considered wine list, and just a really nice buzz.
02/12/2018: This pub was a pleasant surprise - excellent hospitality and great live music. Good selection of guns too.

The Ava Grill Restaurant

Harbour, North Down, >100£
17/12/2018: We went here on Sunday for Sunday lunch 4. Girls. We were served quickly and ordered our meal which was excellent and great value. Starter and main or main and desert for £11.95. Great value. The Brie was lovely. We had roast beef which was so tender and piping hot. The turkey dinner was the same. There was live music which was lovely and added atmosphere, the Ava also have a good cocktail list. I would recommend the Ava for good food and good portions .
13/12/2018: Perched on a corner facing Bangor train station, I can not believe I haven’t been here before. My loss! Tapas was great, wine and service good. A very pleasant experience. Highly recommend it! My only snipe is no Marlborough Sauvignon but that’s a personal taste.

The Salty Dog Hotel and Bistro

Harbour, North Down, 45-60£
11/12/2018: The service was friendly and the food was good with not long to wait and water and treats for are dog
25/11/2018: Stayed one night and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Room was on the top floor with a Seaview however note it’s an old building and no lift. Room had everything you could need and staff extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast is ordered off a menu and cooked fresh. Local produce including potato and soda bread. It’s in a good central location and lots of locals use it. They allow dogs in which some people will either like or loath as a dog lover I liked it.

Holywood Priory, North Down, 30-45£
17/11/2018: Stopped in for dinner after picking up some friends from the airport. We arrived and were quickly seated by friendly staff and are drink orders were taken a brought to us in no time. After looking at the menu which had a wide selection including a number of options for people with food intolerance one of the reasons we choose here in the first place
14/11/2018: Requested "slow cooked" roast beef dinner. It was awful. Beef was tough, veg was under cooked (broccoli), and roast potatoes had an 'earthy' taste - probably because they were in storage for too long. Very disappointed.

Indian Ocean

Holywood Demesne, North Down
28/11/2018: Spot on, South Indian food, great fish dishes, fantastic Vindaloo. Friendly service, excellent surroundings, well worth a visit.
18/11/2018: Called in and was well recieved. Good food and wine and service was exceptional by the young arentive local staff. Place was quite busy but again staff waited and cleaned tables etc.

Harbour, North Down
12/12/2018: Landed on the team at Donegan's with a family group of 12, and I cannot fault the staff for how attentive to us they were. Food was great as expected, as Chef Paul and his team know how to deliver.
10/12/2018: Great lunch deal for 2 courses, food was excellent, lots of choice and service was quick and friendly.

KooK eatery

Harbour, North Down
02/12/2018: We were a party of four who decided to give this restaurants seven course tasting meal a try and from start to finish we were not disappointed. Unlike some other higher end restaurants were you are told on sitting down that they need the table back in 2hrs, here you are told to sit down, relax and expect to spend the next 3-4hrs chatting and enjoying yourself. The canapés, and amuse bouchée were gorgeous, this was followed by starters again beautiful, palette cleansing sorbet was offered pre main course which was to die for and finally rounded off the evening with devine desserts, tea, coffee and petit fours! All of this really was amazingly great value at £27.50 a head. The restaurant is also BYO which also helps to having a very reasonably priced evening out! The only negative I would have was size of table for a party of four, could have been bit bigger, but overall did not detract from the evening. We all thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and would certainly recommend, we definitely will be back! Many thanks to the Kook team for a really great evening.
25/11/2018: Fantastic meal with friends in such a relaxed environment. Where else could you sit for hours enjoying beautiful food and friendly service. We’ll definitely be back.

Holywood Demesne, North Down, >100£
22/11/2018: Just thought I’d give this Awesome Restaurant a fresh update review
17/11/2018: From the minute we arrived Elaine and her colleagues went out of their way to ensure my party group were looked after.

Bangor Castle, North Down
28/10/2018: Sunday morning, we arrived just in time to get the last available table - there was a large table reserved for a group of cyclists, which is a good thing as the cycle clubs know where to get a good breakfast. Service was pleasant and prompt. The food was served very hot and was good quality. Good coffee and a good sized cup of tea too.
23/07/2018: Excellent café. Plenty of choice for a quick meal, vegetarian options. Helpful friendly staff and great prices. We ate here before going to exploris.

Jenny Watts

Harbour, North Down
18/12/2018: Just had the Christmas Dinner menu here tonight! Don't know how many years we have been for Christmas Dinner as well as many meals over the last number of years. This place never fails to impress. Food was fabulous, staff so friendly and helpful as always . Thank you. Needless to say we will be back soon x
11/12/2018: Decent public house grub. A friendly clean well run pub with picturesque beer garden. Menu filled with traditional fare reasonably priced. Dishes well presented

Coffee Yard

Holywood Demesne, North Down, <20£
04/11/2018: I have visited The Yard for a coffee and pastry. I was disappointed that we had finished the pastry and was still waiting on the coffee to arrive.
15/10/2018: Good selection of food available, lots of seating and very good coffee. Some gluten free items available although it would be nice if there were more!!

Blu Bbq

Harbour, North Down
01/12/2018: Don’t believe the Rubbish reviews. We ordered off the Thai menu and the bbq menu. It is 4.6 out of 5 on-line. I can’t understand why it is 3/5 on trip advisor.
20/10/2018: Food is reasonable, decor could do with an over-haul but what really let this place down for our party of 6 was the poor service. Staff were young and seemed to be very poorly trained. Once seated we then had to wait for 20 minutes before anyone came to take a drinks order. Starters arrived after another long wait, followed by a 45 minute wait between starter and main course; there was approximately 10 minutes between the first and last people at our table actually receiving their food. When we inquired about the delays we were told that the only had two woks! Not hard to work out what needs to be done.....!
