Great jones Craft & Kitchen

Shimna, Down
31/10/2018: Pleasant eating venue ; good menu choices. Rustic charm, Coped well with large group. Would definitely eat here again.
04/10/2018: Have been here a few times now and each time the food has been excellent, service is always great and I can't wait to go back.

Villa Vinci

Shimna, Down
03/11/2018: Tried the previous night to get a table, sadly it was fully booked. Better planning the next day and table booked. Staff, dinner was fantastic, busy restaurant but the staff had it all under control. Now desert was grandma's cake... What can I say it was simply delicious.
01/11/2018: Staying at the Slieve Donard.... recommended as we wanted pasta... well worth it... food amazing.. atmosphere really good.. staff excellent. Nothing to complain about... Go and check it out 😀

The Guillemot

Harbour, North Down, <20£
07/11/2018: The Guillemot is always packed to capacity with hungry diners. The food is fresh and cooked to your specifications. The staff are very pleasant and eager to please though sometimes they are so busy that they have to be reminded about a request.
30/10/2018: Popped in for a coffee and ended up staying for lunch!! It's a great little cafe that was bustling. Lunch was very good - salad and Thai style soup. Service was friendly and attentive as always. We will be back again next time we visit Bangor.

Square bistro

Hilden, Lisburn
28/10/2018: I’ve ate in square bistro on many occasions and have always enjoyed meals here! However In the last year my husband was diagnosed as a coeliac and has to follow a gluten free diet and it has hugely changed our dining out experiences which we used to very much enjoy... it’s very frustrating going out to a lovely restaurant with a ever-changing lovely fresh menu but yet he can’t order simple portion of gluten free chips or a simple peppercorn sauce with his meal.? It is relatively easy to cater for customers with special diets nowadays I.e. gf, lactose, vegetarian etc, so my question is why are these customers not being catered for? Many other restaurants do it. Also it doesn’t take much to have a gf* beside things on the menu or a separate menu rather than having to ask specifically what suits and what doesn’t. I am very sad to say I don’t think We’ll be eating here again if the menu isn’t better catered to ALL customers in the future.
14/10/2018: This place can be hard to get into as so busy and really need to book but I now know why as it was an excellent meal with very attentive knowledgeable staff. I will be returning.

The Boathouse Restaurant

Harbour, North Down
10/11/2018: A delightful and atmospheric little restaurant in the old harbourmaster’s Office. The tasting menu was fabulous, as was the wine pairing and we had a wonderful evening to start our short break in Northern Ireland. Look forward to returning.
04/11/2018: The boat house is such a lovely place to go, we had a delicious tasting menu with some great wines. The service was extremely good and attentive

Doc's Fish and Chips

Shimna, Down
02/11/2018: To be fair it was Halloween and extremely busy and I felt that had a knock on effect to the quality of food and service. Was the food bad ?? Def not however I expected a we bit better. The service was slowish but no problem with that at all as the staff were working there butts off. Like most places that are popular it's hard to provide top top quality all the time. Docs is clean and has an attractive menu but the quality given to us on the night wasn't the best. However I do recommend docs and will have no problem returning what so ever. This was just an honest review for the night we visited sorry !!!
01/11/2018: Visit this cafe regularly, mostly good but have had a couple of bad meals. Having said that I have to commend the Manager here, he goes out of his way to ensure good customer service. On occasion when the meal wasn’t so good he gave us a discount which was really appreciated. When we do visit he looks after us very well and for that reason will continue to eat here. Top service

Blue Bay Cafe

Dundrum, Down, <20£
10/11/2018: The Blue Bay Cafe offered a selection of both breakfast & lunch options, which we found to be delicious & a good value. The staff was warm & welcoming, with plenty of attention to detail. Highly recommended! Located in the middle of town near the waterfront. We also applaud their work to raise money for cancer screening.
01/11/2018: Called in here today before a walk on Murlough. Fancied a nice cup of coffee and a sweet delight. Nothing available apart from one plain scone. Very disappointing as we were so looking forward to a nice afternoon treat. The toilet wasn’t clean and you have to get to it via the kitchen which I’m sure doesn’t conform to health & safety standards. Overall a disappointing experience. Have been here previously for breakfast and whilst it was very good was served on cold plates and therefore not warm. Don’t think we’ll be visiting again.

Robert Stewarts

Drumbo, Lisburn, 20-30£
11/11/2018: Really enjoyed my visit to Bob Stewart's this afternoon, everything was really good with the chicken wings and cheese board exceptional.
11/11/2018: Arrived as Bob Stewarts opened for lunch at 12.15pm, we were given our choice of tables, we decided to sit by the window. They had a lovely warm fire going, there was a lovely atmosphere.

Katch 27

Kircubbin, Ards
06/11/2018: Some friends of ours treated us to dinner at Katch 22 last Sunday evening. We received a friendly welcome and outstanding service throughout the occasion. I had a huge bowl of homemade mushroom soup to start followed by plaice in cream sauce with grapes. Both dishes were excellent. All the meals were big on size and flavour. My wife had salmon with Teryaki sauce and rice and a giant chocolate meringue desert filled with ice cream and mousse. It is a little bit of a drive down from Belfast to Kirkcubbin but well worth it to eat at this wonderful restaurant. Highly recommend. Seems to be a popular place with local people judging by the friendliness of the discourse between owner and customers.
06/11/2018: Always a great variety of seafood on the menu....and BYO..!! Small but cosy.....friendly staff....Always a good atmosphere at katch 27.

Vanilla Restaurant

Shimna, Down
12/11/2018: Vanilla is right in the heart of Main Street, Newcastle, and offers excellent food, great value, and friendly service. Highly recommended.
27/10/2018: We have visited Vanilla on many occasions, both for Date-nights and family days to Newcastle.

26/10/2018: Chef Roy and his team are brilliant. The food is amazing and service brilliant. Would highly recommend eating here. The homemade lentil and bacon soup is mouthwatering. Well done you deserve the award you received

Ardglass, Down
21/10/2018: We very much enjoyed our dinner with friends at this restaurant. It was my husband's birthday and they made it fun. We had fresh hake, thought it was prepared very nicely. Mussels were perfectly prepared. Fun staff. Had pavlova for dessert. Yum. Ardglass itself is a wonderful area. Highly recommended. One of it best nights in Ireland.
04/10/2018: This place is amazing. You must go here if visiting Ardglass. We travelled from Sussex to visit family. Was told to try the tornado which we did consists of fillet steak on top off toast topped with pate covered in a lovely sauce or peppercorn all the trimmings including huge onion rings to die for. Treated to this meal by our lovely family. Our next visit will definitely include an Aldo’s return. The staff are amazing and super friendly. Love it. Try it if you haven’t. The menu choice is great and will add remove and replace on request. Fabulous xx

Salthouse Restaurant

Portaferry, Ards
29/10/2018: Ate here on a Saturday evening with our 3 teens. Food was lovely, we had mussels, seafood pie, sea bass and “beef and bird”. All good. Desserts were great as was my Irish coffee. Staff were really friendly and there’s a great view of the lough from the upstairs restaurant.
26/10/2018: Strongly recommend the seafood chowder! Amazing combination & texture! Well done chef! <3 Staff was also great & very polite!

Olive Bizarre

Donard, Down
06/11/2018: popped in for a sandwich ... but when we saw the lovely cakes .... all thoughts of a sandwich disappeared ... most delicious brownies, coffee and hot chocolate .... quirky little place and very pleasant staff
13/10/2018: Every visit to Newcastle means a visit to the Olive Bazaar. Never disappoints. Food and staff are marvellous.

Holywood Priory, North Down, 30-45£
12/11/2018: We visited as a party of 12 for the early bird menu to celebrate a birthday. The staff were extremely friendly and accomodating and the early bird menu was excellent value.
03/11/2018: My family made a reservation for breakfast, the restaurant was very quite at 10:30 so it would be no bother just to pop in but if going from 12 noon onwards it might be a good idea to pre book a table. The breakfast was lovely especially the sausages. The staff were very pleasant and They kept checking to see if we needed a top up of coffee which was a nice touch. Also after paying the bill which came to £38 they give us a discount voucher should we return again. Which would be definitely yes.
