Katch 27

Kircubbin, Ards
22/02/2020: So my hubby and I decided to go out for dinner last night. Ofcourse, because I had left it to last minute they were fully booked; however after a few minutes and maybe a little juggling they were able to squeeze us in. We have indeed been here once before and as then, they did not disappoint!!
17/02/2020: We went to Catch 27 on Valentines night! It was Without doubt the best meal we have had in a long long time! There is not one negative thing I could say! The staff and the service are first class! So friendly and nothing rushed, nice breather between every course and a complimentary course in between starter and main which was a lovely surprise!

Chef and Manager

Central, Ards
13/02/2020: Called in here for early dinner and was very pleasantly surprised. There is normal a la carte menu and a special one course for 11.95 or two courses for 14.95... I had goats cheese fritter for starter...it was delicious then we had chicken breast with mash and chicken goujons with chips...the creamy mustard sauce was gorgeous and veg were beautifully fresh and cooked perfectly.. Staff were friendly and knowlegeable and very attentive. I would definitely go back as it was a perfect meal at a reasonable price.
03/02/2020: We have eaten here many times before and this time did not disappoint. The service is first class ,friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming and the restaurant is a favourite with all the family

Great jones Craft & Kitchen

Shimna, Down
21/02/2020: I was on a three day trip to The Mournes and chose to eat out at Great Jones Craft and Kitchen having spent the day walking. I wasn’t at all disappointed. The staff were outstanding and provided a warm and inviting welcome. The restaurant was thriving, with a cosy and relaxed atmosphere. The staff really cared for everyone from the children to the larger groups. The food was first class and with a great variety. There is absolutely nothing to fault - keep up the good work.
19/02/2020: Received a warm welcome despite not having a reservation. The food is first class and the staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. Will definitely return. Highly recommended.

The Smugglers Table

Killyleagh, Down
11/02/2020: This is a super top class place for excellent food and wine. Lovely ambience also. I had duck as my main and found it to be excellent, also had starter and dessert that were a must but unplanned. Best dinning experience I've had in along time. Would recommend to anyone. ☺
11/02/2020: Visited the restaurant last night with my son and daughter. Since discovering this hidden gem, it is our go to place for the delicious food, friendly staff and the ambience. Couldn't recommend this place highly enough. Thanks to all the staff, it really lifted our spirits.

Tale of Spice

Ballyhanwood, Castlereagh, <20£
26/01/2020: I went with my wife, starter was ok, main insipid, flavourless. Service was poor. Drinks not what we ordered. I live in Belfast and can name off the tip of my head many better curry houses.
12/01/2020: Booked a table, arrived on time, had to wait 15 minutes in a cramped area by the till.

25/02/2020: So came there for breakfast with family and it was all good and nice food and after kids wanted a dessert so they picked oreos x2 packets 6 biscuits in each packet and guess how much? In the shop the same packet 60/70p in there £2.50 so we paid £5 for 12 oreos, wtf? Disgrace. Well il not be back in there.
23/02/2020: We popped into this cafe for a quick bite, and I will definitely be back again. Yummy food, friendly staff, and really well priced.

22/02/2020: Lovely friendly welcome at the turnip house . We had leek and potato soup with amazing wheaten scones. Followed by tea and homemade lemon drizzle cake just perfect. We will return again .
05/02/2020: Well I’d guess you could count the number of these soup, coffee and cake places around the country on one hand and likely have fingers left.

Picnic

Killyleagh, Down
08/11/2017: good "Chippie" friendly staff and food well cooked, I don't eat much take away food but for a wee treat this meets the requirement
11/06/2016: I firmly believe that the prices charged at Picnic are too high for what you get by the way of the food and coffee. The food is okay for a deli come cafe but on occasions can lack consistency. You try something and enjoy and the next time it is not quite the same which results in dissapointment. Maybe it is just down to a different member of staff putting together the dish.

The Dirty Onion

Dunmurry, Lisburn
24/02/2020: Visited last week on a break to Belfast. What a fabulous place. Original beams and really old floors. Nothing at all fancy about it. Loved it. Lovely atmosphere. The food was lovely - they only serve chicken but with lovely side orders. The bar is downstairs is huge and with the same decor. Really relaxing space, with lovely old tables and tin chairs. Also dog friendly. Everywhere including toilets was spotless.
21/02/2020: Cheap beer throughout the center of Belfast, 100% recommended

Home Sweet Home

Donaghadee North, Ards
19/02/2020: Home Sweet Home is my grandsons' favourite place for hot chocolate and gluten free food! The food ranges from scones & buns right through to lunches. Rhonda always makes Jack and Adam particularly welcome and we travel from Bangor quite often to enjoy the friendly atmosphere and great food & drink!
12/02/2020: The staff are the nicest people friendly the coffee and tea is made bay hand and the tray backs I liked it

Base Coffee Company

Donard, Down
21/02/2020: Base was a lovely respite from our typical school holiday weather. The cafe has a downstairs with plenty more seating than we first thought, with the addition of a board games and comfy seating. We very much enjoyed hunkering down with our lovely hot drinks and drying out. The staff deserve a special mention - the right balance of attentive and giving you space, and just the loveliest friendly bunch. Thank you!
19/02/2020: Best Coffee and craic in Newcastle. Why not call in and enjoy the friendly banter and receive a warm welcome from the host with the most - Charlie - he and his staff are there all year round to keep coffee addicts and lovers of fine cakes and croissants happy and offer advice on local services and gossip. No better place to chill out and relax
