Villa Vinci

Shimna, Down
20/06/2018: Newcastle is a nice town in a virtually perfect setting on the coast of Ireland. The bulk of the restaurants are within a few hundred meters of each other along the main drag (or close to it). Villa Vinci is a very good choice if...
18/06/2018: The portions are huge! We ordered calamari and chicken wings to start - the portions were so large they could have been a main course. We followed this with pizza and ended up taking a whole pizza home with us. The food was very tasty,...

Blue Bay Cafe

Dundrum, Down, <20£
19/06/2018: We went with our family to this lovely eating place in Dundrum. We all had the Skinny breakfast except for one person. They had the Rhubarb and crumble scone. The breakfast was super , the owners were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble for them. The waitress was very nice and helpful. By the way the scone was delicious. Would highly recommend the Blue Bay cafe
01/05/2018: We visited this cafe, twice, in April. The first time, was when we were taking friends around the lovely coastline and mountain range, on their holidays. It was the only restaurant that came up on our app as having vegan options in the area. We weren't expecting very much at all so were delighted to find they even had vegan menus! The cafe is quite small, holding about 20 people, but you don't feel on top of each other. The food is freshly prepared, varied and they've won awards for their baking!

The Guillemot

Harbour, North Down, <20£
18/06/2018: This wee cafe is away from the main shopping area in Bangor, however there is convenient free parking in the car park by the boat yard, near the pier. The staff are always very friendly and the food is great.
17/06/2018: I hesitate to write this review because I do support small local businesses, but I couldn’t help but be a little disappointed by The Guillemot once we were finally able to go for breakfast. The food was just ok, nothing special that I couldn’t have just made at home. It does have some nice healthy options, and the coffee was good enough, but I’m afraid it was all a bit forgettable. A lot of people do speak highly of The Guillemot, give it a try, you may like it!

The Boathouse Restaurant

Harbour, North Down
17/06/2018: What an amazing find! My husband and I went to the boathouse for dinner on Friday we opted for the tasting 5 course menu paired with wines and followed with a cheese board. It was exceptional!I cleared every plate! Not only was the food amazing and all local but the wines perfectly matched. The service was first class and we can't wait to return with friends!
20/05/2018: I was very excited to try The Boat House, having heard lots of good things about it. We chose a 7 course tasting menu with wine pairings. David is fabulous at his job, I very much enjoyed hearing about the provenance of the food and wine we had (a few of the details get a bit hazy after the fifth course/ glass. Handily, the restaurant give you a print out of your menu as a reminder!)

26/05/2018: What a quaint little cafe!!! Tea Cosies on teapots, homemade delights, a reading corner that’s child friendly and a view of the sea!!! Hot scones to warm meals are always excellent here. Homemade pastries etc are generous and eye candy. Staff - welcoming and smiley....

Turnip House

Ballyward, Banbridge, >100£
06/05/2018: Called today for our first visit to The Turnip House. Its very quirky..the family dog Charlie took a shine to my husband. Beautiful countryside and fantastic scenery. The hens roaming around in the rustic setting was lovely. The sultana bread and brownies were mouthwatering. Very relaxed and friendly and could give some of the so called trendy cafes a run for their money.
16/12/2017: So happy to have found Turnip House again !! loved it when we used to visit at Trassey Today the Tomato & Lentil soup was very good served with delicious fresh baked scones A little gem set in the midst of outstanding beauty

Tandoori Night

Tonagh, Lisburn
18/06/2018: We found this little gem about 10 years ago by chance. Wouldn't get a takeaway indian meal from anywhere else now. The staff are friendly and the food is delicious. The delivery is normally within 30 - 45 minutes but staff advise you if there will be a delay. I order the chicken tikka usually and it is amazing!
21/05/2018: I am not very adventurous when it comes to Indian food as I don't enjoy hot and spicy dishes. However I do like Korma's and kebabs and have been eating from this takeaway for 20 years+. Have never been disappointed by anything I have eat out of it. One of my favourites is their garlic sauce, it is not for the faint hearted as it does pack a punch but it is delicious. Parking at the door and delivery service available.

19/06/2018: Good food at affordable prices. Great service from friendly & helpful staff. Would recommend booking at usual busy times.

Harbour and Company

Donaghadee North, Ards
20/06/2018: Ate here last Saturday night and what a delight it was. The only reason I am not awarding 5 stars is the portion size. Could have done with a bit more food on the plate but both the Surf and Turf and the chicken dish (I think it was Panang chicken) were absolutely delicious. The next time we will order a starter. All the staff were very friendly and efficient. After our meal we headed downstairs to listen to the live music. All in all we had a great evening and will definitely come back. Highly recommend trying this restaurant and bar. A wee gem in Donaghadee.
19/06/2018: I had pre booked and requested a table with a view which we were given.
