The Rinka

Island Magee, Larne
14/11/2018: This place without a doubt is an ice cream lovers dream!! The cues out the door speak for themselves!! The ice cream is homemade and the choice of flavours are amazing!! I would highly recommend the honeycomb. There is a small seating area inside and out. The shop itself is full of unusual things, from toys to white spirits! It’s very good value and a must when in Island Magee.
24/10/2018: We were doing the Gobbins cliff walk with some folks there were local and told us to stop here for ice cream! Worth the stop and the ice cream was outstanding! Stop here!!

Rafters & Friels Bar

Swatragh, Magherafelt
11/12/2018: Called for a bite to eat and a pint .food delicious and Guinness excellent .well worth a visit to anyone passing through or going out with the family .
14/11/2018: Four of us called in for something to eat. Place was very busy with at least two big family celebrations happening. We were seated quickly, provided with menus and drinks, and when we ordered, were served soon afterwards. Menu was excellent and varied, and all our choices were really good. Bar service and food service were first class which contributed to a very pleasant dining experience. It had been ages since we had last dined here, I hope it's not as long until the next time.

Billy Andy's

Glynn, Larne
12/02/2019: Food was delicious, I had the home made lasagne and it was amazing!! The staff are very attentive and very pleasant!! Beat the clock menu was on so £5 for the meal was fab! Can’t wait to go back! 😀
11/02/2019: Food was absolutely amazing.4 people in group 1 English & 3 French people could not believe how good it was.

District 45

Glebe, Magherafelt
15/01/2019: Friendly staff food is amazing. Good choice of menu and kids menu. My favourite place in magherafelt. Would recommend this place.
15/01/2019: Good deal for 3 for 20. Tasty and good atmosphere. Though would book in advance and can't stay too long

Whitehead Golf Club Restaurant

Blackhead, Carrickfergus
02/02/2019: Had a Christmas dinner here with a group of good friends. Before our meal we gathered to wait in another bar at the back of the building, one I had not seen before. Nice place to wait. The do very generous portions here, so the prawn cocktail was a tower of good stuff. The main course had loads of turkey and stuffing, dishes full of vegetables and boats full of gravy. I put my hand into the photo of my dessert to prove how tall it was. So you will not go hungry here. The food itself was very good. The service was very attentive, in spite of our numbers, and the numbers at other tables. Add an extraordinary view, and this is a great place to dine. Loads of free parking outside.
15/01/2019: Just like to say I had 3 Xmas dinners over December and enjoyed everyone .also had a couple of meals with friends.great food and friendly staff willing to help when needed. Good place to bring your friends and family .sr

03/09/2018: I hate your old daughter was looking for For Chinese food while we’re on holiday near Coleraine. Found this local Chinese restaurant where the food was very good the service was prompt and very friendly a great time had by all. Will be back.

Mary McBride's Pub

Glendun, Moyle
22/01/2019: A good historic pub serving good hearty food (ridiculous portion sizes) and a friendly atmosphere. We stopped off on our road trip as our friends wanted to see the caves from game of thrones. Had lunch and realised one of the game of thrones doors was in the pub! A great location and I would imagine heaving in the summer!
01/12/2018: Just by chance...OMG..perfect chowder and yummy. Cushendun northwest Ireland on the scenic coastal route. A little gem north side of the bridge.

Amici Ristorante Portstewart

Portstewart, Coleraine
18/12/2018: Myself and three friends had dinner here for the first time recently. We had sharing plates for starters and mains. The mains of cod, Ribeye steak and Lemon chicken was superb. Good wine list and Meghan our server was very helpful. I will be back.
15/12/2018: Haven’t been to Amici in a couple of years - staff were great and food was absolutely top notch - I opted for the steak which was perfectly cooked. Dessert was equally impressive. Would definitely recommend - if you are happy to pay a bit extra you will get a bit extra

mclarnons RAMBLE INN

Massereene, Antrim, <20£
03/03/2019: Pleasently surprised. The dinning room is now light and airy. Just had a coat of paint. Nice that it was fine on a weekend.
15/02/2019: Called in on Monday evening for dinner. Food was beautiful. We both had steak which were cooked to perfection. It was very busy for a Monday evening but service was speedy and first class. We hadn't been here for 2 years but will be going back very soon. Also having a spring clean. The lounge was bright and welcoming and the boss man is as ever so welcoming.

Papa Browns Grill

Killycrot, Carrickfergus, <20£
12/03/2019: I visit Papa Browns regularily as it is consistently good value for money. However I have always wanted to comment on their breakfasts and todays visit prompted this review. I had a mini fry and two coffees and was charged 2 to 3 times what I would be charged in other local establishments. The fry was alright...a bit bland and the bacon was under cooked. They dont "top up" the coffee ,which is something other establishments do.. The staff ,as always , were pleasant enough. As for the breakfasts I wont be back....there are plenty of other places offereing good breakfast at much better prices.
05/03/2019: Papa Browns is easily in my top 5 restaurants in N.I - this American-style diner offers a casual dining experience with delicious food, a buzzing atmosphere and affordable prices.

Roark's Kitchen

Kinbane, Moyle
21/01/2019: Visited Ballintoy Harbour and found this little coffee shop - just in time for tea!
15/01/2019: After your walk along beach please stop and enjoy the local taste of home made food especially the stew.. The Apple pie is my favourite. Can be very busy at times so be polite and patient.

Barnish Cafe

Glenshesk, Moyle
04/02/2019: Many times I have driven by this place and I wish I had stopped. A hidden gem it certainly is. Freshly cooked food, home made desserts, home baking - and all at a reasonable price. Its a long time since I had good wholesome food. Most cafes nowadays serve frozen food pinged in a microwave or traybakes from a freezer and scones from a packet. You will not get that here.
12/11/2018: A lovely old style café, very friendly staff, lovely choice of hot food and cake's. Well worth a visit when your passing

The Anchor Bar Complex

Portstewart, Coleraine
03/12/2018: We stopped off here for an early dinner and it was a pleasurable experience. I opted for the chicken chorizo pasta and my wife the cod and chips. Very good quality food, served piping hot in generous portions. The wait-staff were pro-active and warm. This is a good choice for quick pub food in a pleasant ambiance. Well done to the staff - thank you for the great service and warm welcome
19/11/2018: My preference for drinking establishments is an old fashioned quaint pub with atmosphere. The Anchor lacks this because it's not that kind of pub, but it's location helps to exude the marine vibe. Dark wood, great staff, and a good pint, go a long way to making this a worthwhile visit.

Upstairs @ Joe's

Glenaan, Moyle
06/01/2019: had a lovely meal here with my wife and grand daughter, meal was freshly cooked and prices were reasonable. The only issue that I would have was that the child menu did not include ice cream as is the norm, i had to pay extra for the childs ice cream
28/12/2018: We stopped here for lunch and I am so glad that we did. The entry area is unique! Open area and you walk upstairs for the restaurant. It is very tastefully decorated and you can see the High Street from the window tables. Beautiful view of a Northern Irish village. We ordered a bowl of the chowder and it was incredible! Chunks of salmon, crab claws, onion, potatoes, and herbs galore. New England clam chowder does not hold a candle to this! The mushroom pot was also great! We ended splitting a bowl of mussels and the garlic and wine sauce was perfect. The service was great and I highly recommend that you stop here!

Hopefield, Coleraine
03/03/2019: Called with my wife and Mother in law. cafe was busy on our arrival which of course is fine . however no staff even looked our direction - we were literally passed by, by a waitress. The atmosphere was dire but at this point I thought it was only me - then my mother in law said let’s get out of here this place is a disgrace. Don’t think I’ve ever walked out feeling so disappointed. No idea what the food was like as it never got that far - poorly done, poorly done indeed.
01/02/2019: Very homely tea room. Friendly and welcoming staff that cannot do enough to help. The biggest problem is what to pick from the menu, so many tasty delights to select from.
