Tartine Restaurant at The Distillers Arms

Bushmills, Moyle, 30-45£
30/11/2018: We have eaten here before but this has been the best experience to date.
18/11/2018: Absolutely amazing food, lovely helpful staff and a lovely setting. Couldn't recommend more. Best Sunday carvery I've ever experienced and the whole family loved it. Will definitely be back!!

The Scenic Inn

Stranocum, Ballymoney
10/11/2018: Well what can I say, Fri 09 Nov was an absolute wash out with rain but to cheer ourselves up we went to the Scenic Inn for Lunch! As soon as we walked in we were greeted with a very warm welcome as always! Fire so cosy and Stephen is just fabulous! Full of Craic and so attentive! Had the most beautiful lunch. Definitely recommend the chicken strippers. Gorg! The fry is also a must! The cheesecake is outstanding and not heavy! Snickers is my favourite but the raspberry ruffle is close behind! Love this place so much!! Lolv Rob and Claire. Ps Pop's was raging we went without her??? Xxx
07/11/2018: this small petite restaurant/bar is really excellent. found it by chance and have been back three times. the food is great the staff are as friendly and attentive as we have ever experienced. if you want to eat especially on a sunday it is essential that you book in advance because of its popularity and limited space

Square View Restaurant

Woodburn, Carrickfergus
11/12/2018: Well presented traditional cuisine in nice surroundings looking out of the cricket pitch. Specially nice in summer.
24/11/2018: Ate here this morning with my son, both ordered the large fry and enjoyed every bit of our very generous portions. All components of fry were cooked perfectly. Staff were very friendly and attentive, and view from restaurant is beautiful. Will definitely be back to try their dinner menu.

Cafe Revive

Glenaan, Moyle, <20£
09/11/2018: I went in for breakfast again yesterday and had my usual toasted soda bread with poached eggs - complemented with two delicious americanos! This is a small cafe, very comfortable, warm and cosy, home-made food/cakes/scones, always fresh and delicious. Cannot recommend this place highly enough! Try it!
27/10/2018: Came here for breakfast, tea and scone! Was lovely, food was good and the staff where friendly and accommodating. It’s a gorgeous we hidden gem and is like going out for a high tea party!

Harbour bar

Royal Portrush, Coleraine
12/12/2018: Food was amazing, gin combinations were fun to read about and try. It was crowded and very loud throughout the bar upstairs and restaurant.
07/11/2018: Lovely little restaurant and bar. As always lovely food and very well presented. Desserts are delightful and super tasty! Can be busy during summer months, if you have the time, it’s worth the wait.

Ownies Bar

Killycrot, Carrickfergus, <20£
17/12/2018: A group of friends had meal here. There was a good choice from their A la carte menu and their Christmas menu. The restaurant was comfortable, we were in the more modern part of the restaurant which was spacious with lovely paintings on the walls. Everyone enjoyed their main courses and desserts. As a coeliac there was an good choice of main courses for me - I had Christmas lamb shank which was very good. The only suitable gluten free dessert was pavlova - which was just ok, the fruit was minimal. Staff were pleasant.
12/12/2018: GF options identified on menu an plenty of choice. Cosy for a winters day lunch with your family and a beer garden for summer days

Sleepy Hollow Restaurant

Mallusk, Newtownabbey
17/12/2018: We had been bought a voucher for Sleepy Hollow and visited on Friday evening. I am sorry to say that it was the worst meal I have ever been served in any restaurant. We ordered the soup to start which was basically water with a few vegetables floating in it in the smallest saucepan shaped dish I have ever seen. For the mains we ordered turkey and ham which has to be the worst turkey and ham we have ever had. The ham was non existant, the turkey was stuffed with a porridge like substance and the potatoes for what we got of them were burnt. The cost was £65.00 for a meal that wasn't worth £10.00. We didn't complain as we had the voucher and so we only had to put £15.00 towards it but the server knew we weren't happy as the plates went back practically full. We just decided not to go back again and hopefully no one will get us a voucher for there again.
11/12/2018: Our work went to Sleepy Hollow for our Christmas party . We had a brilliant night with good food and homely atmosphere.

ocho tapas bistro

Royal Portrush, Coleraine
11/11/2018: We visited with friends on Friday night. Food was fresh, imaginative and delicious. The staff were charming. Not surprised in the least that this little gem is No1 restaurant in the town. A truly brilliant lovely evening. Will be back very soon 😊
10/11/2018: I along with family viaited this wonderful restaurant in Portrush this evening Too long since we last visited- it is one special restaurant.

The Rinka

Island Magee, Larne
14/11/2018: This place without a doubt is an ice cream lovers dream!! The cues out the door speak for themselves!! The ice cream is homemade and the choice of flavours are amazing!! I would highly recommend the honeycomb. There is a small seating area inside and out. The shop itself is full of unusual things, from toys to white spirits! It’s very good value and a must when in Island Magee.
24/10/2018: We were doing the Gobbins cliff walk with some folks there were local and told us to stop here for ice cream! Worth the stop and the ice cream was outstanding! Stop here!!

Glenaan, Moyle
07/12/2018: Di passaggio mi sono fermato qui per pranzo dopo aver letto buone recensioni su trip, recensioni confermate dalla mia piacevole esperienza.
15/11/2018: Staying in the area for a weekend break, booked a table for Saturday night dinner on the recommendation of some friends and we weren't disappointed. Fabulously good food in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Excellent service from the staff who were friendly and attentive but not intrusive. Would recommend the lamb and the surf n' turf. Enjoyed it so much that we popped in the following day for an impromptu bar lunch and again, the food was excellent as was the service.

The Red Door Tea Room

Kinbane, Moyle
13/11/2018: The place itself is very cute and charming. The staff was friendly. We couldn't quite figure out if it was seat yourself or not. We kept getting weird looks from people. The food was good, but nothing to write home about. A great little stop on the way from one activity to the other. Unfortunately, they were out of the stew when we arrived.
09/11/2018: Called in on a wet Saturday afternoon and overall pretty good and unique quirky venue. Main complaint is the high prices so poor value for money. Bill was over £50 for 3 children and 4 adults. It was just soup, tea and children’s sandwich platters and couple slices of cake. Decent place but pricing is a deterrent

Ardtara Country House Hotel Restaurant

Upperlands, Magherafelt
10/12/2018: First class food lovingly served. Do try the parsnip ‘snoop’ which was a cause of much mirth over the linguistic slip.
02/12/2018: Excellent, everything about today's lunch was top class. The staff, the food was absolutely superb, the atmosphere was nice. We spent a very enjoyable afternoon in pleasant surroundings. Both my wife & I would highly recommend a visit, & we will definitely be back in the near future.

The Side Door Bistro Restaurant

Hightown, Newtownabbey
17/09/2018: Four of us went here around 2 weeks ago. Friendly staff, delicious food and BYO...what more could you ask for! The lasagne is totally gorgeous and all meals very reasonably priced, well presented and very tasty. Waitress was very helpful and friendly. I plan to return again this weekend!
24/08/2018: Had dinner in The Side Door tonight and the food is excellent - cooked to order. Good menu and plenty of options. The staff are very friendly and attentive without being overbearing. A really nice place and great food.

Mayur Indian Restaurant

Killycrot, Carrickfergus
27/10/2018: Called in on a Monday evening for a meal for 2. Such a warm welcome from the owner, we loved the ambiance and felt very comfortable & relaxed within the first 2 minutes.
25/10/2018: We happened to be passing Carrickfergus Castle at lunch time. Ordered two meals. Mirchi korma to die for and the owner Dev recommended Chicken Chettinad a variation on Madras. Both meals absolutely delicious. Looking forward to our next visit. Thanks Dev

Billy Andy's

Glynn, Larne
27/11/2018: We have lived within 6 miles of Billy Andy's but never tried it before. We had a family night out there and were very impressed with all aspects of this restaurant. We had a fantastic meal and the service and surroundings were first class. I think I can safely say that we will be back, soon.
26/11/2018: Meal was booked for 7 pm on a Thursday night only 8 people in the restaurant and it took 2 hours and 10 mins to serve 4 of us 3 courses I ask if the were servicing the sweet the next day. As for the portion the soup was served with 2 mini heels of bread the main course was so spread out on the plate you could see more plate than food and as for the dessert when it finally came the slice of cheesecake was the same size as my middle finger I measured it, so although the food we had tasted excellent for what we got, again i say when you have to ask for more bread more veg etc it's not the place to eat if your hungry
