Magherabuoy House Hotel

29/10/2019: Last minute break...nice quiet hotel..great for what it cost. Good breakfast with great choices... Fine for a three star.Helpful staff
02/10/2019: Went to the Magherabouy Hotel for tea the other evening and was really impressed by the lovely decor, very relaxing and friendly atmosphere. A waitress called Sarah looked after us and nothing was too much trouble for her. Our meal was lovely. The chilli chicken pasta was delicious and the chicken gougons were really tasty. Definitely worth a visit.

The Galley

Carnlough, Larne
16/10/2019: We stayed at Carnlough Harbour a day and ate dinner here. The fish was fresh and coffee good . It's located right across the harbour.
24/09/2019: Amazing Fish Suppers in this very busy carryout. Freshly battered cod is amazing and absolutely delicious. Ask for a family chip which is a huge bag of delicious chunky chips for £5. Very busy most evenings so best to phone in your order ahead of time and then just pick it up to avoid a long wait in the queue, which can be out the door at peak times, like on weekend nights. When the weather is good we sit on the benches along the harbour wall to eat out fish suppers so that we can enjoy the view of the Irish Sea and Antrim plateau vista. We regularly drive over to Carnlough from Broughshane for to enjoy their fish suppers. Highly recommended.

Ownies Bar

Killycrot, Carrickfergus, <20£
16/01/2020: Took our nephew out for dinner. 3 lovely mains and 3 clean plates. 3 good desserts and staff were lovely. 2 things that mean it's a 4 star instead of a 5.
13/01/2020: Lovely food with great menu, brilliant drinks selection. Would recommend one of their roast dinners if In on a Sunday. Love their apple crumble dessert.

Morelli's to Go!

Portstewart, Coleraine, <20£
07/11/2019: Love it! Homemade ice cream with delicious flavours to suit everyone. Try new flavours and enjoy with toppings.
05/08/2019: Brilliant choice of ice cream and plenty of options including sliders and nougat wafer. Our friend has a cashew nut allergy and her choice of nougat wafer was prepared separately. Most reassuring. Many thanks. This popular brand has expanded in the last few years. Delighted, as far more people can enjoy the amazing icecream. I had coffee and honeycomb in a medium wafer from the wide selection. It was absolutely delicious. The young staff were completely charming too. On another occasion I will sit down and have the biggest sundae the parlour makes. For another time!

The Boatyard Coffee Shop Coleraine

Dundooan, Coleraine
16/01/2020: I stumbled across this wee coffee shop this morning - what a delight!! Great food in a lovely, friendly, welcoming atmosphere. A great range of meals, well priced, and clearly loved by the locals: it was quite busy. The cream of mushroom soup I had was delicious; the beef khobze (??) was excellent - I'm just sad I had no room for a sweet! I'll definitely be back.
12/01/2020: Dropped in for breakfast while on vacation to the area based on reviews - both online and word of mouth. We were not disappointed. The Ulster fry is perhaps one of the healthiest and tastiest we have had, the service was friendly and efficient, and the owner was very personable. Look forward to returning on our next visit.

Rafters & Friels Bar

Swatragh, Magherafelt
29/11/2019: Me and friends visited this place on 23rd November for dinner. It was really lovely place. One of the things that made place even better was fireplace. Food was really good.
27/10/2019: First time to Ireland, visiting from California. Had the pleasure to hear Bruno sing many American songs and raise it to the next level with a few of his native Italian songs sung in Opera. The Irish were so kind and made us feel amazingly comfortable. The employees were charming, atmosphere was delightful and wish I lived in Swatragh!! Pub photo was a highlight! ❤️

Crosskeys Inn

Grange, Ballymena
22/10/2019: Visited this pub as part of a tour group and enjoyed the food which was topped off by fun entertainment and great hospitality.
05/10/2019: This quaint pub was included in our C.I. E. tour thru Ireland. What a memorable experience! The manager/owner and his lovely family and staff were very welcoming! There is no kitchen but such a cute little pub! They cook outside on a grill. It was a good change to have hamburgers, etc., as a change of pace from the local food items in Ireland. They even have authentic live musicians playing Irish melodies!
