The Jolly Sandwich

Portora, Fermanagh
18/11/2018: Stumbled across this great little place whilst passing through Eniskillen. They have a huge range of delicious home baked cakes to choose from (we took some to go). It was very, very busy and quite small so I'm not sure how you'd go about getting a table for lunch, so best to call ahead and find out.
18/11/2018: This little gem of a restaurant does excellent sandwiches and salads with a range of desserts to choose from. The highlight of our visit was the coconut and raspberry cake which was unusual and delicious. We would certainly return next time we are in the area.

Kathmandu Kitchen Nepalese & Indian Restaurant

Shaftesbury, Belfast, <20£
10/11/2018: We arrived on a Friday night after the Belfast beer festival. We had booked a table and it was central in the restaurant. The place was already pretty full. Service was quick and helpful. We had a full range of curry’s , the Kathmandu special ( not so popular), the Himalayan chicken and desperately the lamb and the moms chicken were all excellent. A bit different and memorably for that. The supporting breads were good, particularly the garlic nan. Overall £20 each so reasonable price.

30/11/2018: Well what can I say! Everything was perfect. We didn’t book so couldn’t sit in the inner sanctum but our table in the bar area was great. We were attended to from walking in by Matt. Who was attentive and helpful and actually made our dining experience even better. Food exceptional I had scallops and black pudding daddy had famous squid and tony French onion soup. All so delicious appealing to the eye and didn’t last long! Mummy and I could have licked our plates!!!!

Darcy's Belfast Bistro

Shaftesbury, Belfast
01/12/2018: We came here for our first meal and weren’t disappointed. What a lovely find and warm and welcoming staff. The service was great and food was delicious! Lovely homemade Irish food. Shall return and definitely recommend to others.
28/11/2018: My husband and I went here 3 times during our stay in Northern Ireland in October, taking our toddler along with us. All 3 of us LOVED The Irish stew. I had the apple pie and my husband had the cheesecake once which we both very much enjoyed. My husband was a fan of the Guinness beer and on our last visit he ordered an Irish coffee which he also was a fan of and says he will never order anywhere else other than Ireland. The staff, especially the manager were very friendly and accommodating, and even remembered what we had ordered the previous times, especially my husband’s drink orders. As we were leaving for the last time, the manager shook my husband’s hand and introduced himself and the other two guys on staff by name. Thanks guys! If we are ever in Belfast again we will be going back to Darcy’s!

Oysters

North, Strabane
21/10/2018: I have eaten here many times and every single time the food is delicious. If any of the ladies in our family have a birthday, we always chose Oysters for lunch on a Saturday. My grandmother has been very sick since July and yesterday was the first day she managed to leave the house. I just want to say a massive thank you to Kevin, who treated her so well and made her feel so special. I must add you done this last year too for her birthday and she hasn't forgotten. She will be celebrating her 82nd birthday tomorrow. We have been to other places, but we dont get the 5 star treatment elsewhere. The food is always top notch and have never been disappointed. Will be back before Christmas. Thanks again!
13/10/2018: We visited Oysters for a meal with a work colleague who retired recently. There were a good few other diners in the restaurant along with the thirteen of us even though it was midweek. There was a good selection on the menu and our party ordered a number of different dishes. The food was fantastic from the starters, to the mains and finishing with the desserts. There was just the right amount of time between courses and you knew when you tasted the food that everything is cooked fresh. The young male waiter (sorry I can't remember his name) was very good at his job. It is great when you see young staff who appear to have received proper training. We all had a great evening. I will definitely be back and would highly recommend this restaurant.

Little Wing

Shaftesbury, Belfast
07/11/2018: This is a popular little restaurant. Nice and bright and quick turnover of tables so although some people waited for tables it was a very short time. The service was mixed on our visit. We waited some time to have our order taken and for our drinks to arrive. Then the pizzas arrived very quickly. There was a special deal for Sunday to Wednesday for two courses and a drink for about £11.00. We didn’t take but even with two pizza and wine. The meal was very good value. I had the anchovie pizza. Although lovely I felt it had too many chilliest making it more difficult to taste the capers and anchovies. My husband had the sausage special. This was excellent. The Prosecco was good as was the carat of house red wine.
07/11/2018: Visited to try the extra large pizza with our 7 year old boy while in Belfast. It was so worth it and the pizza was excellent. My son really enjoyed watching the pizza been prepared and cooked. It was an experience he remembered and told all his school friends about when he got home and was a highlight of the trip. Would recommend highly, staff were so friendly and was a meal experience for kids and the whole family.

Villa Vinci

Shimna, Down
11/11/2018: Arrived for lunch without booking and we were seven. Even with a lot of bookings on the book they manage to sit all of us together. Very nice. The menu have so many things that was difficult to choose. Kids when for pizza and Bolognese. They serve them first at our request, and it looks really good. For starter we order Fromagi Friti (fried cheese). Very good, just “ All dente”. The cheese was melting properly and the onion caramelise was great.
10/11/2018: We ate in this restaurant on the Sunday night of the October Bank Holiday weekend. They accommodated us at short notice. I had caprese salad and spaghetti bolognese and my wife had brie and chicken skewers. All excellent and prompt service.

The Scenic Inn

Stranocum, Ballymoney
10/11/2018: Well what can I say, Fri 09 Nov was an absolute wash out with rain but to cheer ourselves up we went to the Scenic Inn for Lunch! As soon as we walked in we were greeted with a very warm welcome as always! Fire so cosy and Stephen is just fabulous! Full of Craic and so attentive! Had the most beautiful lunch. Definitely recommend the chicken strippers. Gorg! The fry is also a must! The cheesecake is outstanding and not heavy! Snickers is my favourite but the raspberry ruffle is close behind! Love this place so much!! Lolv Rob and Claire. Ps Pop's was raging we went without her??? Xxx
07/11/2018: this small petite restaurant/bar is really excellent. found it by chance and have been back three times. the food is great the staff are as friendly and attentive as we have ever experienced. if you want to eat especially on a sunday it is essential that you book in advance because of its popularity and limited space

Browns

Ebrington, Derry
11/11/2018: We went for special meal we booked for 6.00 pm so it was early bird menu, I thought the food was served very quickly; I had the rump which was very gristley and fatty which meant there was very little meat. I told the waiter when he asked if everything was ok and he said he would tell the chef. For the amount we paid for the meal I don’t think I will go back. Have to say this is the first time I have ever written a review. Having said this the service and location were excellent but it’s a no from us
09/11/2018: A fantastic offer with gorgeous food, flavours, presentation and selection. All cooked to perfection. Staff as efficient & friendly as always. This restaurant has never been known to fail.

Square bistro

Hilden, Lisburn
18/11/2018: Visited the square bistro with friends and found the food to be extremely good. Meals are generous in size and priced very well.
08/11/2018: My wife and I enjoyed an excellent lunch today is this excellent restaurant. I can honestly declare the venison pie I had was by far the best venison I have ever had and that includes a few visits to New Zealand.
