Comptoir Libanais

Grove, Kingston upon Thames
15/09/2020: Good food, super good location, and super duper ambiance, with option for outdoor seating as well, overlooking the Thames Riverside. The buzz in the environment can surely be felt when you are there. Service is slightly slow, that may be due to the rush of guests dining at the restaurants.
27/08/2020: We went here for lunch around 3pm on Tuesday with my 3 girlfriends and asked if we can sit in one of the booth's as they were mostly empty. Person whom I can only assume to be the manager went and checked her bookings and told us they were fully booked. We sat near the toilets for 3 hours but no one showed up from so called bookings she had so those booth's were empty the whole time.Bread served was cold but portions were okay and food was tasty.Unfortunately as I am married to an award winning restaurant manager I can't accept the fact this manager refused to give us obe of the booths when clearly she had no bookings.Even of she had bookings clearly she could still accommodate as not one of those bookings showed up for 3 hours we were there.Just a gentle reminder consumers gk to restaurants to be made felt at home and whilst i can appreciate booked tables cant be given to walk in customers unfortunately there is no explanation thats good enough for what happened. So good luck with your business but we wont be rushing to come back.

20/10/2020: I’ve been here twice now and the food and the service have been excellent. Highly recommend it. There’s some really different items on the menu if your adventurous and the meats cooked over charcoal we perfectly cooked, moist and delicious.
20/09/2020: I’ve visited Narenj multiple times now and have got to say the food is very good. They have a vast range of options on the menu and cater for all. I would say the service could be better, a couple of times now we have had to wait a long time for our food (around 30/45 for both starters and main courses) but if you don’t mind a long wait for your food overall it’s always been a positive experience. If the service was a good as the food I would give a 5* rating. Would recommend.

Tanoor Persian Cuisine

Old Malden, Kingston upon Thames
18/10/2020: We first visited this restaurant last year. The food was amazing. The service was outstanding. We went a couple of times earlier this year where the customer service was not as good and the food was acceptable. Last week, we decided to drive all the way from Purley for our first take away. As Iranians we like to support our fellow Iranians, however, the salad looked worn out. The koobideh looked yellow and had something mixed with the meat which I am assuming was bread. Both the length and width of the koobideh has shrunked. The rice was enough for a child. As an Iranian restaurant they know better that the Iranian food is always served with rice and plenty of it and yet Iranian restaurants such as Tanoor now only appear to be catering for their foreign customers. The Ash Reshteh tasted exactly like the tinned Ash you can buy from any Iranian and Turkish supermarkets whereby when we first tried it last year it was amazing. Today, against my better judgement, my husband forced me to drive all that way again and to give them another go. Same story, we asked the Iranian lady not to give us salads but instead to give us more rice, which they did not. The Koobideh smelled funny, was even smaller, the only positive feedback was my daughter's Joojeh wraps. It's a real shame that the standard has fallen, as when we spoke to the owner earlier this year, he mentioned that he would not be compromising quality and he has and if he has changed his cooks, I recommend that he changes them again as this was not the standard before and he has clearly put profit over quality.Very very disappointed.

Clocktower Cafe

St Mark's, Kingston upon Thames
02/11/2020: I cannot fault this cafe, maybe apart from some extra furniture hanging around. The food was amazing with wonderful vegan options. The staff were courteous which is a valuable quality currently where many restaurant are hostile to their customers. All the regulations were covered but it definitely was not in our faces. I definitely recommend and will visit again.
