Indian Ocean

Holywood Demesne, North Down
16/04/2019: lovely restaurant really enjoyed the food, it was a quick service and food was hot and delicious, very nice staff who had time for any question's you may of had on any dish which was to me was so helpful as I wouldn't be certain on which dish was really hot and which one was mild, will be back again thank you
10/04/2019: Very attractive restaurant, spacious (relatively). The staff was very friendly, although they took their time getting the order. Food was delicious. Don't trust the stars (for how hot the meals are) - I think that four stars is more Madras than Vindaloo

Hilden, Lisburn
05/05/2019: Been to Indian Restaurants right across the UK, from Glasgow to Birmingham, Manchester to London, and even abroad on holidays. I honestly do not know how, but this place is MILES ahead of anywhere. Ths peshwari nann, shashlek, jalfrezi, EVERYTHING....been going here for years, and hasn't been beaten, not even close...
29/04/2019: We dined there on Saturday night with Friends, having pre-booked a table on their website. I must say from our arrival, we were made most welcome. we had great craic. There was a super buzz from other Diners, but not obtrusively so. to the business end; each of us had different dishes and each one was superb. The meats were so tender; top quality and subtly marinated. Furthermore, for the qulaity, it represents superb value-for-money.

Tale of Spice

Ballyhanwood, Castlereagh, <20£
27/03/2019: Our 3rd time at Tale of Spice and will return. This is our favourite restaurant within the Complex - despite the hustle and bustle outside it remains quiet inside with relaxing atmosphere. I also like the porch area at the entrance as the second door means there are no drafts when people are coming in or leaving. Excellent menu choice and food cooked to perfection. Would recommend the seafood sharing platter for 2 as a starter. We normally share one main course between 2 and order an extra rice and naan bread or a side dish as the servings are generous. Highly recommended.

The Green Chilli Indian Restaurant

Bangor Castle, North Down
28/04/2019: We came here for a family members birthday as a recommendation from a did not disappoint!

06/04/2019: It's had been a while since I'd been to the Bokhara but was there tonight and I'd just like to report it's still as good as ever. I won't leave it as long till I return again.
01/04/2019: What can l say but outstanding from start to finish. Joey your the man cheers bro. Even had entertainment for the eaters. Food was brilliant and lots of it only one thing chip under cooked but rest was brilliant 10/10 well worth the money

Masala Hut

Moira, Lisburn
26/04/2019: We arrived uncooked and made feel very welcome. The menu was explained to us as we where unsure how not some good might be cosy clean friendly staff. Efficient service. Good was very good well.presented plenty of it per portion full of flavour. We will be back
06/04/2019: Outside Belfast, proper Asian restaurants are hard to find. This one came recommended and didn’t disappoint. Long story short, my Tandoori King Prawns on a Paratha was as good as anything I’d find in Berkshire. The accompanying Bhindi were delightfully fresh and not at all stewed.

Bangla Bangor

Crawfordsburn, North Down
18/09/2018: My cousin was visiting from America. She likes to enjoy Indian Food. I treated her to an EARLY BIRD menu and she was absolutely thrilled. The meal and service were excellent. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
27/08/2018: A busy indian restuarant in the centre of Bangor. Extensive menu both for rating in or carry outs. Modern interior well managed. Booking advisable at busy times.

Eastern Tandoori

Central, Ards, 20-30£
14/02/2019: I have reviewed this restaurant before and the food and service was excellent. Last night was no exception. Four of us had dinner here and the food was again tasty and excellent. Empty plates all round. We all had a super evening. Never had a bad meal here. Thank you chef and serving staff. Jim and lorraine.
24/01/2019: Ordered yesterday and it was an all around pleaser for all the family. Especially the jalfrazi and korma dishes. Great portion size too will be back

Bangor Castle, North Down
01/05/2019: After ordering from the delivery menu our food arrived cold. I have sent two emails complaining with no response. We don’t mind paying more when the quality is good but being ignored after using this restaurant for so long is unnacceptable.
28/02/2019: Een mooi restaurant en je kunt er heerlijk eten zeker als je van spicy houdt. De keren dat ik er was, was het er niet druk, maar dat niets af aan de kwaliteit van het eten. Dat was beide keren echt geweldig!

The Passage To India

Cathedral, Down
01/05/2019: I just had a carry out from this restaurant, and yes - there were a few extras, which was nice, but overall we were disappointed with the food. We had both starters and mains, and everything tasted more of salt that anything else. I like the subtle spices of Indian food, so was a little disappointed.
17/02/2019: Been there last week with a few friends, we all ordered a different dish so we could share..derive was slow around 50 minutes for everything to arrive. If there food were nice, we wouldn't mind waiting but it was awfully oily , greesy and bad ..we didn't finished and we won't be back...

Harbour, North Down
30/03/2019: Terrible quality of food I had what they described as a chicken curry instead received a extremely salty horrendous sauce which covered thick tough chunks of processed chicken, no herbs or anything authentic about it also ordered naan got a supermarket pitta.Never again avoid !!!!
01/09/2018: I ordered a pizza and it was very undercooked. Made me feel ill, and has put me off going back ever.

Khyber Tandoori

Carryduff East, Castlereagh, <20£
29/10/2017: I have been ordering from the Khyber for years and always thought that the quality of food from the restaurant was better than the take away, i'm not saying that the take away was always bad but it is generally hit and miss when it comes to quality, i don't care what anyone try's to tell me but there is obviously different chefs who's cooking skills greatly vary. My meal of choice is Chicken Special and when it's prepared well it gives me a rush of happiness that no other Indian i have tried can recreate, but like i said this sadly has been lacking of late, i thought Sunday night seemed to be the best night to order and get a great meal but tonight (being Sunday) i sit extremely disappointed, the sauce is watery, there is way too much sugar in it and there is even Pineapple in it when it's just supposed to be Mango and Banana, i knew the moment i opened the lid that i was going to be disappointed and i wasn't wrong, why..why..why can it not be good all the time :-(
16/10/2017: Korma and rice was very tasty but they forgot my starter and a naan I didn't order not sure if they charged me for hope not it was bad taste of burnt and oil. Delivery was on time

New Cinnamon Indian Restaurant

Shimna, Down
17/08/2017: the cinnamon club is now called the ocean spice and twice we have ate from it and the the food is brilliant,my husband has ate indian food all his life and all over the world and he absolutely loves this

Taste of Bengal

Ballymaglave, Down
27/08/2017: Uncertain about where to eat on a wet evening in Ballynahinch. Many other places were closed on a Monday. Bingo! Proper authentic ambience and delicious food from an extensive menu. Superb Chicken Pakora followed by superb Chicken Chilli Massala. Brilliant, many thanks.
22/06/2017: Wrong order delivered and when questioned was made to pay for the food I had ordered as well as the food that was wrong never again

Hillsborough, Lisburn
04/04/2019: I had never heard about this place before but I bought a groupon voucher and items just about to expire so off I went to dinner tonight. I looked up to check up where I was going and found the trip advisor reviews many of which were not good. I almost decided not to go but had the voucher anyhow and decided to go on.
23/03/2019: You would forgive the 70s decor and large empty restaurant if the food was good. Unfortinalaty the curry was watery and tasteless and inedible. We couldn’t finish it jnpite if being hungry. The lifespan of this restaunt must be limited as no one can seriously eat and pay for this food on a regular basis. I felt sorry for the young waiter as he was helpful and pleasant but must by now be used to people complaining about the food. I hadn’t heard of the restaurant and living in Ballynahinch I had hoped that it would be a new restaurant to frequent but sadly not. The restaurant is situated in an ugly industrial estate, it is huge with a dated and unwelcoming reception area with a strange gas fire smell greeting you when you arrive. In spite of the size of the restaurant, when we ate there at 8:00pm on a Friday night there was only one other couple there and now we know why. It isn’t hard to get this right but this restaurant failed at every juncture with the food being absolutely tasteless dog food. Such a shame as if the food was good this place could do well and Hilsborough doesn’t have an Indian restaurant only a take-away.
