Mayur Indian Restaurant

Killycrot, Carrickfergus
27/10/2018: Called in on a Monday evening for a meal for 2. Such a warm welcome from the owner, we loved the ambiance and felt very comfortable & relaxed within the first 2 minutes.
25/10/2018: We happened to be passing Carrickfergus Castle at lunch time. Ordered two meals. Mirchi korma to die for and the owner Dev recommended Chicken Chettinad a variation on Madras. Both meals absolutely delicious. Looking forward to our next visit. Thanks Dev

indian ocean

Killycrot, Carrickfergus
17/12/2018: Visited the Indian Ocean for lunch. The restaurant was warm, spotlessly clean and really comfortable. The menu was a set choice i.e., started and main course for £9.95. There was a good choice most of which was gluten free. As a coeliac it was great to have a choice of meals. Both the starters and the main courses were delicious - staff were very courteous and service was swift. Lovely place and I'm looking forward to a return visit
10/12/2018: Arrived here for a meal with no bookings staff accommodated us very quickly. Food was outstanding for everybody very tasty an nice hot Madras, Nann bread was so fresh. Staff very attentive throughout meal. A must visit for anyone

Indian Ocean Restaurant

Hightown, Newtownabbey
29/10/2018: We had dinner here and as vegetarians were spoilt with a great selection of dishes to choose from. We were given complimentary poppadoms (with a selection of dips) on arrival and these were all lovely and fresh. Our meal was delicious with just the right amount of spice and the Naan bread in particular was fabulous. The service was very good. I have to say that I am very fussy about cleanliness and the whole restaurant (including the toilets) was spotlessly clean. Highly recommended.
23/10/2018: This is our families go to restaurant anytime we want to enjoy Indian cooking, food and service is always fantastic.

Aldergrove, Antrim
09/12/2018: To start with the positives food was amazing no complaints! If you like a hot Madras this is a must, now to the service. We where sat upstairs which is ok but once are plate was sat in front of us we never seen another staff member for rest of the meal not once, didn't check was good ok did wee need drinks nothing! We had to go down stairs to tell them we needed the bill! Joke of a place, really ruined what could have been a great night. Won't be returning felt like we where trouble.
02/11/2018: Whilst staying in the area we asked a local where they would eat. They recommended Spice, what a good recommendation, lots of curries on the menu we had not seen before, staff helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. And best of all reasonably priced

Indus Valley

The Cuts, Coleraine
01/12/2018: Fab meal last night.... even if something wasn’t on the menu - Syed and his team were happy to accommodate. Delicious flavours in the curries, on point spice, the fluffiest and nicest nan bread I have ever tasted, amazing sharing platter to start, great atmosphere and music...
03/11/2018: Delicious food.Melt in the mouth lamb, fluffy rice, piping hot, perfect nan. Curry to your taste if you wish. Top notch as ever.

The Khayber

Ballyhenry, Newtownabbey, >100£
16/12/2018: Lovely food, altho my friend and I were left sitting there without being offered a dessert menu for a long time and we had to ask in the end for one. Nice Meal tho. The Chicken madras is beautiful
29/11/2018: My husband and I have been eating the Khayber's food for a couple of years now. We live in Donegal and frequently get a takeaway when we are in Belfast. We drive all the way back from Glengormley to Malin Head with the curries packed safely in a heatbox. Unlike most people we buy in bulk and freeze a few. Any Friday or Saturday night, we have a Khayber from our stash.

Taaj Restaurant and Lounge

Rostulla, Newtownabbey
03/12/2018: First things first the food was lovely I could not make a complaint there! The service on the other hand was one of the worse table services I have received in a long time! Drinks taking far too long to come or forgotten about, meal orders mixed up, took meal order and then came back to re take the order as they had lost it, a general feel of organised chaos, I think it was more good luck than good management that the meals came out correctly, although one was forgotten and had to wait longer than the rest of the party. The restaurant was also cold, even though the food was good I certainly wouldn’t return if it was for a larger party!!
10/11/2018: Had a good catch up with an old friend. Decided to do so over a two course lunch at The Taaj. It’s been a long time since I’ve been here and since then it’s changed hands and chef. Food is still good and suits the local clientele. All in All great food, service and ambience

Taaj Restaurant & Lounge

Town Parks East, Magherafelt
08/11/2018: Only visited for the first time in August but have been back a further 2 times with another trip planned for next week. Really delicious food served by lovely attentive staff. I’m new to trying Indian food and the staff are always very helpful making suggestions and every meal has been perfect.
04/11/2018: Ordered a number of meals and sides for collection, a few off which were the chicken tikka masala. The other meals were fine but the tikka Masala were completely bland and void of any flavour whatsoever, so I definitely wouldn’t recommend that! To top it off I discovered when I arrived home that the 3 nan breads we had ordered only 1 was in the order! Unfortunately to far away to drive back!

Ballyclare South, Newtownabbey
15/12/2018: Beaut Indian food and great service! Biryani was awesome. :) Nice to have a catch up with a great friend over a curry and a pint or 2!
15/09/2018: We went here last night as it had previously been good. I got the mixed starter and the middle of the chicken was raw, I told the staff member who took it away and I told her to tell the chef. My partner went to pay I was told the starter had been taken off the bill but the bill was not itemised. At no stage did I receive an apology. There is another Indian restaurant opened in the area and if that’s how namaste serve food and provide service they will close!

The Khayber

Galgorm, Ballymena
03/12/2018: As a group of twelve we ate in this restaurant a few days ago. Every dish that was presented was excellent and every one at the table enjoyed their meal. The staff was both friendly and attentive a special thank you to Raj who is an asset to this restaurant also a guy (sorry don’t know his name) that had a wonderful smile. Some of our party were visitors I was very pleased we had chosen this restaurant and would highly recommend this restaurant.
21/11/2018: I have just left from a lunch at this restaurant and I am completely shocked to say the least.

Rostulla, Newtownabbey
20/11/2018: A family member lives close by so decided to get a huge carryout for everyone. Chilli Masala, Bhuna, Biryani with rice and nan bread.
19/09/2018: I am actually writing this review still in shock at the service we received last night , we as a family have been coming to the kinara for years not every week but at least once a month , as always found the food (early bird deal) to be fantastic , last night but has really put me off ever stepping through the door again , ordered the chicken puri which was lovely then the chicken tikka , came out like a bowl of tomato soup no onions peppers just sauce and chicken , to which I asked should there not be any veg in with the sauce ? replied no that would be the tikka masala you need to order that next time , then proceeded to lift mine and my mums plate !!! didn't even ask had we finished , sat there while my dad finished of the rogan josh which was like water no taste to it very disappointing , then waiter comes out with 2 bowls of the tikka masala told him wasn't interested in it but left it anyway , so how did he think we were going to eat it with no plates ?? very disappointed with the service and the food so I will be giving here a miss from now on , like to point out to we arrive before another family yet they got menus etc 1st ? and to put the menu up by £2 but leave ingredients out doesn't make sense ?

Radhuni Indian Restaurant

Hightown, Newtownabbey
09/12/2018: Sat in and had meal last week & it was gorgeous!! Inner chicken salan but went back this week for takeaway and paid the same as what pay to sit in and the meal was nothing like what I had the week before !! The chicken was not inner chicken and no bullet Chili’s !! Hardly any chicken at all and the tubs where only half full !! Very disappointed will not be getting takeaway again from here
04/03/2018: The food here is great however when sitting in for food the place is freezing!! Me and friends had to eat with our coats on which isn't great on a night out! The waiter could be friendlier and some music wouldn't go amiss.

Spice House

Glebe, Ballymoney
02/11/2018: Ordered food via telephone and travelled from Portstewart to collect. The order was not what we had ordered but worse than that it was virtually inedible- £25 wasted! The chicken pakora were over cooked & dried up and they came without a dip. The mixed meat kebab comprised only of doner meat and chicken pakora- there was no sauce, salad or anything else with it -disgusting! The biryani was tasteless , the sauce with it contained frozen vegetables and was bland.
16/09/2018: I am from India and honestly this was the worst indian food I have ever tried. We ordered chicken tikka masala which was nowhere close to its name. The main ingredients were sugar and coconut. We clearly did not need to order a dessert. The naan was very thick and tasteless. Tadka daal was just boiled lentil. Do not waste your money here.

Indian Ocean Takeaway

Portstewart, Coleraine
06/08/2018: Have ordered from here everytime we are in Portstewart. The food is beautifully cooked. I would highly recommend this shop. They also make pizza's and burgers. Can't wait until the next visit.
22/07/2018: Worst Indian ever had ,,ordered chicken tikka ,nothing appealing in the sauce ,very very sweet ,cheap chicken used ( all same size and squares ) ,,very disappointed ,won't return or recommend and expensive ,and couldn't take cards ,which we heard from others happens regularly ,,cash only

Castle Demesne, Ballymena
03/10/2017: Very average. Curry not great. Service very average. And quite expensive. My jalfrezi was more juice than anything. Highly unimpressed. Had been a few years since I’d been here. It’ll be a few more years before I go again.
27/04/2017: I can only say what I've said after previous visits - spice is an excellent restaurant with great, personal service
