Mayur Indian Restaurant

Killycrot, Carrickfergus
23/05/2019: Great food and great service. Particularly, there was one server called Raman he was scintillating!!!
13/05/2019: Excellent authentic Indian food, with great service from Dev and his staff, always on hand to assist with your choices from the menu. Have tried many different dishes as recommended by Dev and they have all been fantastic. Has made us more adventurous trying new dishes. Well deserved award as No 1 Indian restaurant in Northern Ireland and No 2 on the whole island of Ireland.

indian ocean

Killycrot, Carrickfergus
11/05/2019: Food beautiful! Garlic king prawn is to die for!! Staff wonderful! Excellent service!! Reasonably priced!! We get takeaways regularly and also sit in occasionally. Never been disappointed!!! Staff go above and beyond to help with dish choices, etc. The most welcoming restaurant we have ever visited. Thanks Alex and team
28/04/2019: Enjoyed a lovely meal with great service as usual. Good understanding of dietary requirements which is great for me as a diagnosed Coeliac. And one of the few places that I can eat poppadoms.

Indian Ocean Restaurant

Hightown, Newtownabbey
21/02/2019: Took my daughter upto Indian Ocean Glengormley as we hadn't been up in ages . Beautiful restaurant and amazing food , I had the lamb tikka garlic chilli and she had chicken korma , sides of pilau rice , chips and a peshwari naan . The food was absolutely delish and very highly recommended if in the area . Superb
17/02/2019: What can I say, food excellent, staff superb, cost reasonable what else can you ask for, well done 5 stars all the way.

Taaj Restaurant & Lounge

Town Parks East, Magherafelt
25/04/2019: Fantastic food. Best I’ve had outside England helpful staff always ready to help early bird menu great value Tuesday to Thursday before 18:30
14/04/2019: We’re staying with family and they recommended getting an Indian takeaway. We ordered a variety of dishes to collect. The portion sizes are good. The chicken tikka rizzala, lahori gosht, chicken tikka malai methi and tarka daal were delicious! The best tarka daal I’ve ever eaten. The kids always order korma and passanda. They enjoyed their dishes but the korma was very sweet (this being said by a boy with a sweet tooth). Would definitely order again.

Indus Valley

The Cuts, Coleraine
02/06/2019: We used to come here reasonably regularly, but sadly it’s now closed for good. They have moved to Ballymoney and as far as I understand they are only a take away now. Pity as they were really good.
12/03/2019: Lovely food, fast friendly service. Good size portions, was offered a doggy bag as I couldn't eat it all. Excellent.

The Khayber

Ballyhenry, Newtownabbey, >100£
02/06/2019: Went last night with wife and two children and everyone really enjoyed it. Oldest girl had kids chicken korma with rice and youngest had the chicken nuggets and chips. My wife had her safe option which is korma and loved it. I was looking to try something I hadn't tasted before and waiter recommended tikka Kari which I really enjoyed. Kids are already asking when we are going back. All staff were very friendly also.
14/05/2019: Can’t actually complain about the taste or flavours of the meals, however the portions were small and bad value compared to the Indian Ocean. Got 4 mains and the amount of actual chicken in each dish was very disappointing, it was nearly all sauce. Also the rice sides were quite small portions probably about 2 thirds the size of the rice you get in the Indian Ocean. Major disappointment is that when you are spending nearly £50 on a takeaway you expect free popadoms not in the khayber. Don’t think I will be back.

Aldergrove, Antrim
29/05/2019: The service at Spice was wonderful! I had questions about my dietary requirements and they helped happily. Friendly service, delicious big portions, lovely setting, and free papadums!
26/05/2019: My wife and I have wanted to eat here for ages and it definitely didn’t disappoint. We had a wonderful evening. The food and service was excellent. The Manager and all waiting staff couldn’t have been more attentive. We had a minor issue when the wrong main course arrived but literally within a couple of minutes the right dish was provided & we were allowed to keep the wrong dish to try. We would highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be making a return visit. On our recommendation our family & friends have already made plans to dine here.

Taaj Restaurant and Lounge

Rostulla, Newtownabbey
29/05/2019: Went here a few years ago and didnt think much of it, but it seems theve chaned the name and possibly ownership. I really enjoyed very much and will be back.
13/04/2019: Have eaten here a few times with my brother and extended family including my 3yo nephew. Food is great, staff and atmosphere brilliant; would recommend to anyone who likes a good Indian with a kids menu along with it. A well deserved 5 stars!

The Khayber

Galgorm, Ballymena
23/04/2019: We made it just as the restaurant was closing in the afternoon - but the manager very kindly stayed to serve us - as my dad really craved some spicy food! And thank heavens because the meal was delicious. The right level of spice and flavours. Highly recommend this place. Very good value for money too.
15/03/2019: We have eaten here twice in a fortnight for 2 birthdays and everything was excellent a bit on the pricey side though £48 for 2 starters and 2 meals is a bit steep

Rostulla, Newtownabbey
29/04/2019: Tried here as had it recommended to me by my hairdresser. Usually eat in the Spice Merchant up the street but thought would give it a go. I had the Nagpuri which I always get - not a patch on Spice Merchant. My husband really did not enjoy his food - can't recall what he ordered though. Glass were water stained. One waiter in particularly was quite rude - the guy who seated us though was lovely. Not great value for money - will stick with SM.
02/04/2019: This no nonsense Indian resturant is a lovely place to eat, with calm and courteous staff, and unbelievable value for money. BYO or buy from their drinks cooler. I've eaten in many places and ti's is one of my favourites, definitely worth a try

Radhuni Indian Restaurant

Hightown, Newtownabbey
24/02/2019: All Takeaways I’ve had are excellent can’t comment on the restaurant side of things but the radhuni special kebab is to die for.
17/01/2019: Odered food through "Just eat"..Tandoori chicken main..extra keema nan...the keema certainly wasnt tandoori mince..more like kebab meat that looked someone had been sick in it...The tandoori chicvken was half cooked...which Ihad to finish off in the oven...and the delivery driver left me £2 short...blaming the last customer on doing him...Is that my fault. Avoid Like the Plague...will also be complaining to Just Eat as well

Spice House

Glebe, Ballymoney
02/11/2018: Ordered food via telephone and travelled from Portstewart to collect. The order was not what we had ordered but worse than that it was virtually inedible- £25 wasted! The chicken pakora were over cooked & dried up and they came without a dip. The mixed meat kebab comprised only of doner meat and chicken pakora- there was no sauce, salad or anything else with it -disgusting! The biryani was tasteless , the sauce with it contained frozen vegetables and was bland.
16/09/2018: I am from India and honestly this was the worst indian food I have ever tried. We ordered chicken tikka masala which was nowhere close to its name. The main ingredients were sugar and coconut. We clearly did not need to order a dessert. The naan was very thick and tasteless. Tadka daal was just boiled lentil. Do not waste your money here.

Castle Demesne, Ballymena
03/10/2017: Very average. Curry not great. Service very average. And quite expensive. My jalfrezi was more juice than anything. Highly unimpressed. Had been a few years since I’d been here. It’ll be a few more years before I go again.
27/04/2017: I can only say what I've said after previous visits - spice is an excellent restaurant with great, personal service

Bombay Spice

Central, Larne
18/02/2019: A quiet night down at the local curry house in my home town. It is BYO alcohol there. I have another TA review from over four years ago, but between times I have eaten in a few other places! I am really pleased to see that Mohammed and family are still in Larne. Fantastically crispy poppadoms this time. I had a spicy chicken tikka starter and the same spicy chicken dish with naga as reported in my last review!! Only in Larne... Absolutely delicious. My daughter went for prawn puri and chicken tikka makhani which she really enjoyed. Our dining partners were equally delighted with their, more lamb based, curries. Bombay Spice deserves to move up review wise! The evening was under £80 for four diners having poppadoms, chutneys, starters, mains and sides. Many thanks to Mohammed. Hoping to be back soon.
24/10/2018: Great food. Pleasant service, plus have used the carry out delivery service. Prompt, and telling you the approximate delivery time
