Aux Delices

Luddendenfoot, Calderdale, 20-30£
11/12/2018: Aux Delices serves the freshest tastiest food in the Calder Valley with great service - nice bar area to, if you just would like to call in for a drink
22/11/2018: A few miles from us but always worth the trip. Food and service are both excellent. Top quality food with a nice varied menu that is good value for money. House red wine also excellent.

The Olive Branch

Calder, Calderdale
09/12/2018: Came here after walking past. So glad we did, the food was amazing and excellent value for money. Staff couldnt do enough.
09/12/2018: Every time we visit Hebden our first night is spent here!! Excellent food and fantastic service, what more can you ask for!!!

Marco's Cafe

Calder, Calderdale, <20£
18/11/2018: Imagine being the one person to have rated this place terrible? Fair dos! But 98% giving 4 or 5 stars. That's off the scale....sort of. Lets say unheard of on TA, in my book at least! Went there today especially whilst in the area as had heard rave reviews and wasnt disappointed. Wonderful on-the-ball attentive owners/staff, Great value and great tasting pizza. Its a pizza cafe, so dont go if you want luxury/swank/ a full dining out experience but if you want a A1 service, a great little buzz among the 10ish tables, staff who know what they are doing re keeping an eye on each table and most importantly great pizza go there! I am with the 98% And it ain't often you can say that in this country today!!
13/11/2018: I have been a couple of times now and if you like a good pizza, and I mean very good, then this is the place. I can make a dam good pizza at home but saying that no where near as good as Marcos. The place is very small so may be not ideal for big parties and it is often full but that is the price for popular and decent restaurant.

The Booth Wood Inn

Greetland and Stainland, Calderdale
25/11/2018: Just been to Booth Wood pub again for Sunday lunch
21/11/2018: A nice place with a wide ranging menu from great sounding sandwiches to sophisticated a la carte. We called in for lunch and dined off the retro menu i.e. more traditional dishes chalked up on a blackboard. These were supposed to be smaller portions but they seemed more than ample to us. My wife had fish, chips and mushy peas and I had calves liver, bacon, onions and mash. Everything was spot on and the liver was cooked pink and melted in the mouth ( they will do it well done if you want ). To drink we had a Diet Coke and a glass of Malbec and the total bill was just under 20 pounds - amazing value. I can see the Booth Wood rapidly becoming one of our favourite eating places.

Julio's Italian Restaurant

Town, Calderdale, 20-30£
26/11/2018: Me and my friend called for tee last night Monday 26th November we enjoyed it that much that we came the flowing night for the same meal really worth every penny £40.00 between two of us not bad and better than the so called local Italian in shelf top mark to juilos we will defo call again
25/11/2018: Lovely value for money . Early bird menu great 👍 pizzas freshly made and delicious , house wine nice too

The Tapas Bar

Todmorden, Calderdale, 20-30£
15/12/2018: What a fantastic evening, food Amazing, Staff Fantastic, atmosphere delightful. What more could you ask for on a Mediterranean night out.
12/12/2018: Just been to the tapas bar in Todmorden and really enjoyed every tapas we had and the chocolate cheesecake. Very tasty and great friendly staff . A must see and eat ....

Aya Sophia Greek & Mediterranean Cuisine

Calder, Calderdale, 20-30£
13/12/2018: It was a quiet, wet, lunch time when we went so it was slightly lacking in atmosphere but it was good to have space as so many places on Hebden are a bit cramped. The lunch is excellent value and we all enjoyed what we had and had a relaxing time thanks to the friendly waitress.
28/11/2018: Starters of hummus and grilled halloumi were good, although could have done with more pita bread (1 pitta for a large plate of hummus is a bit stingy). If I went again I’d ask them to hold the balsamic gloop off the salad (viscous and too sweet). Chicken kebabs and rice were delicious. Service a bit hit and miss, but a decent atmosphere and clearly very popular with locals.

Meze Restaurant

Brighouse, Calderdale
11/12/2018: Been here sevral times very nice food and nice staff and very convienient location going again on xmas day
05/12/2018: Never fails , fantastic food, good ambience and extremely friendly staff , highly recommended The early bird 2 courses £10.95 is as good has anything off the menu, not downsized or poorer quality like some early birds

Hirds family fisheries

Town, Calderdale
08/12/2018: Brilliant fish and chips... well worthy of all your awards - keep up the good work! The battered pigs in blankets are also worth a mention, they’re just “something else”!!
20/11/2018: After seeing that they had received the award for best takeaway in Yorkshire/Humberside I had to try out. Fish was fresh and beautifully cooked to perfection. My daughter later had one of their homemade pi3es. (various fillings) . These too were of a super quality. Will be going back for more.

Calder, Calderdale
05/12/2018: A long overdue review of this delightful place. We tried many cafes in Hebden Bridge before arriving at Lovegrows and this is undoubtedly the best and we visit at least monthly. The Croque Madame (Ham and cheese on toast with poached egg) is the best ever brunch. A friendly welcome and the opportunity to join in with conversations, it sometimes has the atmosphere of an old style local pub.
22/11/2018: We visited this cafe for the first time a few months ago after planning a trip to the nearby Lamppost Cafe which is allegedly dog friendly. We found the Lamppost very disappointing with no staff to serve us so decided to try Lovegrows instead. We could not have been happier with the service in this Cafe. The staff are so friendly and welcoming to dogs and people and the food is beautiful. They serve very good vegetarian options which isn't always the case in some cafes. We have returned since our first visit and will continue to do so!

The Winterburn Pub

Warley, Calderdale
18/12/2018: Had a fabulous lunch starting with root vegetable and apple soup, a flavour I hadn’t tasted before, but is now a favourite. We both followed with the standard turkey dinner, which was good, but very much in the shade of the soup. The portions being large, we felt unable to eat a dessert and left very full. The service was quick and informal and we will definitely return soon.
12/12/2018: Visited here for a special birthday treat and was looking forward to it as I had heard good reviews however to say I was disappointed is an understatement. I had the fish and chips and it had stated the chips were doubly cooked however they were soggy and full of fat/oil. I have had terrible indigestion since which came on after a few hours of eating. Also we had a coffee and the taste was very very bitter.

Squeeze Food & Smoothie Bar

Calder, Calderdale
10/12/2018: After moving to hebden with my partner, we were on the search for a great coffee shop as we both work from home.On our first visit the fact that there was just two of us which was a big thing for the young waitress to point out we would need to give our tables up despite in been mid week midday(before we had even sat down), it is very apparent the young ladies are reading from a strict scrips which money is the main priority not care and customer service. After this experience we thought we would give it another go been local and all, this time we were a party of four, the orange came out bitter and the egg in my sandwich was raw which I clearly opened and showed to the short haired more mature lady, to which she had no replay or words. When it came to paying at the till I waited to see if anything would be brought up, IT WASNT get the cash comes to mind.Such a shame a great building with huge potential , if you going to pay minimum wage to young girls at least give them the right training .Embarrassing.
26/11/2018: I live in Hebden Bridge and Squeeze is my go to coffee and breakfast stop. It’s one of (if not the only) places in Hebden where you can get a decent coffee before 10am! The staff are lovely and have always catered to my chop and changing of the menu without a fuss. A friendly, warm atmosphere with delicious (and more importantly good quality and strong!) coffee!

Blakeley's of Brighouse Fish & Chip Takeaway & Restaurant

Rastrick, Calderdale, <20£
11/12/2018: Lovely food, very helpful staff, we took my newborn granddaughter, and they made sure we had enough room for pram, and even helped with cooling of bottle for the baby, nothing was too much
26/11/2018: Wonderful Gluten Free battered fish and fabulous service. It is our ‘go to’ for a little treat nowadays! My husband might even have gluten free next time, mine almost looked better than his ‘normal’ fish last time! Thank you! I am even telling Squires in a Braunton about your batter, as they don’t do gluten free.
