Ye Olde Steppes

Pembridge and Lyonshall with Titley, Herefordshire, County of
05/01/2018: Thanks to TripAdvisor we decided to stop here for coffee and what a find! Although the steps in are steep the inside is like stepping back in time. The staff were amazing, the cakes and coffee were perfect and the whole experience was relaxing. We'll definitely return the next time we are passing.
20/12/2017: Upon visiting Pembridge yesterday (19th December) we found this little gem of a tea room, situated in a picture perfect Tudor building. It was very busy, which initially put me off and we were informed that booking is essential. However a lovely lady (possibly owner) accommodated my friend and myself, after being told we were not able to simply sit down. Pushing that aside the whole dining experience was faultless. It was service with a smile and the food was delicious and portions very generous. We sat at a table in a bay window looking out at the church behind. The food was home made served on vintage china, and the setting magical. The little shop was well stocked with perserves and sweets in old fashioned jars. I really wanted to spend more time browsing, but will safe that for next time.

Pundits Fusion

Upton and Hanley, Malvern Hills, 30-45£
18/01/2018: Have been using this restaurant for many years, had been a few years since last visit but nothing had changed. Excellent, genuine and welcoming service- you are treated like family. The atmosphere of this restaurant truly makes it exceptional, and the food is without a doubt the best in the local area. A must visit!
17/01/2018: Visited on New Years night, and a few days ago!We have been using this Indian since the day it opened... it is wonderful and nothing is to much trouble for the staff! Sit down service is lovely... I always usually have the standard chicken tikka main course with large nan bread and chips with poppadoms - this and a cobra beer really it’s the spot! Their take way service is also fab! Tip; mixed kebab sesh is also delicious! The only thing I would say that would make things the top level would be if they did delivery to the door but the food is always worth waiting for/ going to collect - fresh ingredients! Never had a bad meal in over 20 years... keep up the good service and work guys x If anyone had any sense and wanted a great meal they would come here... Best wishes Kane , Karen and the family!

La Dolce Vita

Quarry and Coton Hill, Shropshire, 30-45£
16/01/2018: Visited the restaurant recently and we are kicking ourselves we have never been before. Luigi and the team are brilliant and the food is outstanding. Chef came out regularly to serve the food and speak to customers and Luigi was pleased to learn of my husband's Italian family. The young man who also works there is very polite and efficient. Very friendly atmosphere and every course we had was delicious. (The chocolate gelato is particularly good) We will definitely be back!
30/12/2017: If ever I'm invited onto Desert Island Discs my luxury would be a scoop of La Dolce Vita chocolate gelato - home made on the premises by the magician lady in the kitchen!

Pascal at the Old Vicarage

Branston, East Staffordshire, 20-30£
17/01/2018: A warm welcome, attentive but not intrusive staff, attractive surroundings and lovely food meant we had a very pleasant evening. Only question mark would be regarding the price, which I felt was on the high side for what we had. However, I would still not hesitate to recommend to friends.
16/01/2018: We had an excellent Sunday lunch here. Not cheap for Sunday lunch but worth it. The staff are friendly and helpful and the game rillettes spot on and the sirloin was pink as stated and they were not stingy with it as many are when serving sirloin. Good veg - not fussy just well cooked.

Mendi Indian Restaurant

Droitwich South West, Wychavon
17/01/2018: Met a friend here as the restaurant is so close to the motorway. Mendo is so welcoming and we really felt the premises is her home, it was so relaxed. Mendo calls all customers 'visitors'.Food was really good, packed with flavour and cooked to perfection. We had a table for three and we're all big meat eaters. I like to choose veggie options, as an alternative and the recipes here were gorgeous. I'd definitely recommend to others and I have no doubt that we will return again. If you want a drink, take a tipple or two with you as the restaurant is not licensed.
14/01/2018: I have been looking at Mendi for some time, my wife and I are currently meat eaters and I wasn't sure if we would be fully satisfied with the meal not having meat in it.Firstly I am happy to say I couldn't have been more satisfied it was splendid from start to finish. It was like walking into an old friends house for dinner and drinks, the welcome was warm, the atmosphere relaxed and comfortable. We were approached quickly and asked if we had visited before and offered advice on the food, which we gladly took.We both went for the Punjabi Bhajji to start, which was very tasty and a nice little spicy kick to warm the mouth for our main course. For the main my wife opted for the vegetable dhansak, which came in quite a thick sauce and had a lovely blend of vegetables. She thoroughly enjoyed it as did I from what she would let me steal!I had the Daal Tadka, which having spoken to the waitress was spiced up and additional garlic added. This was wonderful especially mixed with the crispy garlic naan they served.Forgetting the fact it is a vegetarian restaurant for a moment the style of cooking is considerably different and I would urge anyone who hasn't tried it to give it a try (yes meat eaters too!!) There is no pre-prepared gravy and everything is cooked fresh and to perfection. The spicing doesn't leave a burn just a warm feeling in the mouth. This is not a licensed restaurant so you can take your own booze, wine/beer glasses will be provided. We had a great time and met the lovely Mendi herself just before we left who was more than happy to talk.Service was excellent, food awesome, reasonably priced......we will be back!!

Orangemabel

Alcester, Stratford-on-Avon, 20-30£
18/01/2018: I visited between Christmas and New Year with my Mum. We were greeted at the door by friendly waitress and sat at a table. The cafe is full of display cabinets and you can sit looking at everything in them for ages! We were not eating on this occasion but the cakes looked delicious, the tea was great and served in mismatched tea cups and saucers with ornate teaspoons, just the kind of place I love! I will definitely be back.
16/01/2018: Great cafe, lovely decor with teapots and China all around. The most friendly cafe I have ever been to! Food was great value and very tasty. Came away with a big smile. A must go to place and wish it was closer.

The Green Cafe

Ludlow North, Shropshire
22/12/2017: We live nearby and occasionally call in here for coffee and snacks, its always busy. Such a wonderful location right next to the river where an artificial lagoon has been created to keep children & dogs safe from the river currents. Food is always reasonable, good quality and scruffy
17/12/2017: On a bitterly cold and wet Sunday morning, The Green Café thoroughly justified it's No.1 status. My wife and I enjoyed a leisurely breakfast of toast and scones overlooking the river whilst reading their newspaper. The accompanying preserves were excellent. The service was friendly and prompt. I want to return to this wonderful place when the sun is out!

24 Carat Bistro

Ladywood, Birmingham, <20£
15/01/2018: Me and my partner came for our anniversary. Very excited to be able to get a table. The special weekend menu was great, and for the starters and deserts we were both spoilt for choice. Mains were a little trickier as we try not to eat much meat. We gave in as a treat though, and tge curry goat was lovely, and the akee and salt fish was amazing. The service was great, with helpful recommendations. Will definitely be back!
11/01/2018: Found this cafe purely by chance and was very impressed by the diversity of dishes from the goat curry to faggots and peas!I opted for the goat curry and thought it was excellent although personally I would had preferred a bit more curry to finish off the peas rice.

Casa Naranjo

31/12/2017: What a lovely lunch. Fresh quality tapas myself and Karen really enjoyed our time here and would recommend it to anyone. Staff are top class.
30/12/2017: Found this little place by chance today, and being frequent holidayers in real Spain, we popped in for lunch. Wow! We were not disappointed. The food is superb...delicious and fresh, the manager Franscisco (from Cadiz) is delightful and humoured our attempts at Spanish! Service was excellent, we weren’t rushed, but we had a constant supply of the most delicious tapas we’ve eaten since Spain in August. We will certainly be returning and will recommend this place to many friends.Top notch tapas...thank you!

No 3 Restaurant & Bar

Ross-on-Wye East, Herefordshire, County of
15/01/2018: My husband and I met up with two of his childhood friends, their wives, and one six year old son, December 23rd. This was a raucous group of 7: pre Christmas, a rare reunion, and the owner and staff were so lovely about us changing seats, laughing and talking loudly, creating a scene. Luckily, we were next to an even larger group. It was Christmas, and the staff, and other guests, didn’t seem to mind.I’ve never, ever, even in the most expensive London restaurants, seen a full five star Tripadvisor rating, so my expectations were cautiously high. We got some bread for the table and the moment it arrived, I knew this was going to be an exceptional meal. My husband is obsessed with bread, and this variety of three (with the owner/mamager telling us a little story about the sourcing) was so good, we had to get a second order. Even the olive oil was rich and peppery. My husband and I shared the duck main. No starter, small green salad on the side. Except it was huge, so big I had to offer some to our friends. The duck was perfect: rich sweet sauce, pink and juicy, each vegetable perfectly cooked, Rich Light dauphinois potatoes. The kitchen split it for us so we each had a large attractively arranged plate, and I thought at first they accidentally served us each a main.I tasted a friend’s bream with saffron potatoes, also superb. Everyone loved their choices. For dessert we split the sticky toffee pudding. Again, simply extraordinary. It was billed as with Apple: there were different components of Apple, cooked slowly, soft, crispy., I wish I brought my camera as the presentation of each dish was so pretty. The room is like a jewel. Chic and modern, confidentially accessorised with hanging bulbs.Staff friendly but not in your face, letting us get on with acting like children. We left wishing we didn’t live all the way in London, and promising each other, and ourselves,we will be back soon.An hour Later, one of the wives and I needed to pop back to use the (pretty) loos. The staff welcomed us. The restaurant had transformed after we left: the music and lighting seemed softer, it was more romantic, grown up, our larger table now adjusted back to accommodate a few couples.A good restaurant is like a theatre. When each guest can feel like a star, and leave with an experience they want to recreate, that is a restaurant deserving of a full five stars. There’s no other way to describe this than what David H said: a lovely gem. I can’t click on service/etc for some reason, but it’s all 5/5.We wish the owners and staff well, and look forward to returning and trying everything in the menu. The prices are reasonable but I’d categorise it as fine dining. This is a confident chef who will, I’m sure, continue to grow and the menu to evolve.
12/01/2018: My husband and I were visiting Ross, and called in for lunch as there were several tables free. This is a beautifully presented small restaurant, and the food was divine! I had the carrot and ginger soup, and my husband had the beef and cheese melt, and we both really enjoyed our meals. I only wish we lived a bit closer to be able to come back for dinner another time!
