No 3 Restaurant & Bar

Ross-on-Wye East, Herefordshire, County of
11/12/2020: Simply superb! We have now eaten here on two different occasions now and both times the food has been excellent, and the service wonderful. We are extremely lucky to have a restaurant of such high caliber on our doorstep-well done Number 3 keep it going!
10/12/2020: We visit this lovely restaurant every so often and have never been disappointed. The menu is imaginative with great choices. The cooking has always been excellent. The venison pie was exceptional. The staff are friendly and helpful. It is a joy to eat there. Also we felt very safe with the Covid precautions of plastic screens. Thank you No 3.

Grand Central Kitchen Birmingham

Ladywood, Birmingham
10/12/2020: This great little restaurant like all restaurant pubs etc are closed however it remains open for takeaway and no surprise still great food great service lets hope it will not be long before it will be"business as usual" for everyone this place as a loyal customer base with good reason so let's hope it's back to "normal " soon
05/12/2020: Never been here before but had breakfast omelette in take away. It was amazing, excellent service and ready really quickly . Will go again

La Casa Loco

Caldecott, Rugby, 30-45£
04/12/2020: Myself and my boyfriend came here for a birthday meal. He had never been here and had wanted to come for a while. We arrived and got the most unfriendly welcome from the rude manager/owner and had to wait 15 mins for our booked table, which we wouldn't have minded had they apologised. There was absolutely no atmosphere in the place which is not what we were expecting and when we tried to order two rounds of drinks with the miserable waiter (owner/manager) he told us we needed to order food as the table was booked for an hour and a half after our booking time. When we said we didnt realise and we wanted to have some drinks first he was really rude about it and kept saying it said on the email confirmation. Also we got seated 15 minutes late so that gave us an hour and fifteen minutes to have some drinks and eat. Anyway we said we would order when he came over with second round of drinks as had hardly looked at menu yet, and he kept mentioning, even when he brought the food over, that it said on the email we had an hour and a half, wish was annoying because we understoof and we were trying to forget about it and enjoy what limited time we had there. I ordered the Slow Cooked Feather Steak - "A 10oz feather steak marinated in Tequila and chilli. Slowly cooked until itmelts in your mouth then finished with the addition of a little cream andgreen peppercorns."The meal was nice but what was descibed was not what came out. It was feather steak and my sides drowning in beef gravy. No cream and no green peppercorns in sight. I basically had a roast dinner nothing about it was mexican. He never came over to ask how the food was and when he came to get the plates I said it was lovely but I dont think I got what I ordered, there was no gravy mentioned on the dish, i thought it was just marinated in chilli and tequilla, he then went on a rant saying it was the most popular dish on the menu and everyone loves it. I said i'm not saying its not nice its just not what I expected and he stormed off to get a menu but really that just proved me right as there is no gravy mentioned at all? Very strange and rude character. Will never return there again.
15/11/2020: It's a good location in the middle of town, nice layout inside staff are friendly. I visited as a large group and it took a while for the orders and mixed a few up but that's expected as there was around 15 of us. Cope well when busy and staff are really friendly

33 the Scullery

Stratford Guild and Hathaway, Stratford-on-Avon
22/12/2020: Excellent food from their home delivery service on Saturday 19th December. Generous portions. Delivered at the requested time.
06/12/2020: Ordered one roast pork and one roast beef for delivery over the phone. Very easy process.Arrived within one minute of expected time. Impressive!Had to pop the cauliflower cheese in to a microwave as it was not hot enough. No problem really.Generous portions of well cooked food. Both the beef and the pork were very tender and much enjoyed. Will be having another delivery before Christmas. Many thanks to the staff for providing such good food during these difficult times. Really hoping the establishment is keeping their heads above the water and hoping to visit properly for a meal very soon.

Loxley's Restaurant & Wine Bar

Stratford Guild and Hathaway, Stratford-on-Avon, 20-30£
30/11/2020: We managed to squeeze in a lunch the day before the second lockdown and thoroughly enjoyed yet another excellent meal. Tables were well laid out to meet Covid requirements and all guidelines were being followed. We have visited numerous times and having perused the menu yet again we still decided to go for our usual dishes of brisket and dry-aged steak burger with fries and the bbq ribs. The staff were extremely friendly and efficient. A particular thanks to Rose who was very helpful. This is a lovely restaurant located in the centre of town which serves excellent food. Highly recommended.
18/11/2020: We had a deliious three course meal at Loxley's to celebrate my birthday and pre-lockdown. The restaurant took all Covid precautions and the seating was comfortable and relaxing. The staff including Sarah were very welcoming and the food excellent.

The George & Dragon Inn

Much Wenlock, Shropshire, <20£

The Opposition Bistro

Stratford Guild and Hathaway, Stratford-on-Avon, 45-60£
03/11/2020: I had heard fab things about this place, and it measured up to my lofty expectations in every way. The crisp Picpoul de Pinet was delicious and reasonably priced. The sea bass special was very well conceived and executed; the clever fennel boulangere was immaculately presented and very tender, the shellfish veloute was very flavoursome but velvet smooth. Places like this really ought to survive, and I very much hope they do so I can visit again and again in the future.
02/11/2020: We visited for a meal on a Saturday night. The staff were welcoming, friendly and very accomodating. The menu was clear and there was a good choice of food. Although the portions were slightly small, the food was wonderful.

Baby Russets

Boothen and Oak Hill, Stoke-on-Trent
28/12/2020: We ordered from the 3 course Christmas Fayre menu for Christmas Eve and thoroughly enjoyed every last bite. All 3 courses were absolutely delicious and huge portions like they serve in the restaurant. We’ve only just finished all the parsnip crisps that came with the Beef! Everything was well packaged and nicely presented. So thoughtful to include crackers, napkins, mince pies, mini- gingerbread men and candy canes. We will definitely be ordering takeaway again if this service continues. Well done Dave and Steve.
27/12/2020: I had 3 takeaways since Covid Absolutely beautiful food Well presented and piping hot Always tasty Can’t visit the restaurant for a sit down meal

Greyhound Inn

Longford, Coventry
23/11/2020: Enjoyed a hot chocolate and muffin with my Mum, it was delicious and the service was excellent. Highly recommend :)
14/11/2020: Have written a couple of reviews of the 'hound in the past, so here's another one but this time dealing with COVID Lockdown 2 and their new takeaway service.Ordered from the website at about 9am this morning. There's the normal fiddly stuff of entering credit card details for the first time but everything ran fine. Ordered a lasagne and as part of a 'Friday only' deal two haddock and chips with mushy peas which was a tenner for the pair. Just clarifying though, these aren't the normal whale size fish they sell - though they are available still - but smaller yet still delicious portions. The website told me the order had been sent, but to check my emails around midday to get a confirmation. This is presumably where they make sure they've got everything I ordered and also check that the pick up time I requested was available. I received the promised email and all was good.Arrived at the promised time and went to the rear carpark where there's a signposted counter set up outside the kitchen to pick your food up from a mask-wearing member of staff.Food was on time, the usual excellent quality and I'm still a very happy customer.

Lambs Restaurant

Stratford Guild and Hathaway, Stratford-on-Avon, 20-30£
06/12/2020: I was very happy as I managed to book a table as I wanted to take my partner here for our first anniversary together. The whole experience was fab, the food was superb, love the cosy decor and the staff were all excellent, especially the polish girl who we chatted to for a while, she is a credit to the restaurant. Will definitely visit again when in Stratford.Paul & Maria
14/11/2020: We were so lucky to get a table. The food was excellent, the service very good and it felt covid safe. Thank you. We'll be back.

Priory, Malvern Hills
24/12/2020: The Anupam is our family’s favourite curry restaurant, we have been coming here for many years and the the food and service is always excellent. We thoroughly recommend it.
23/12/2020: Lovely environment to enjoy a wonderful curry. The curry oozes flavour I would specifically recommend the chicken madras.

Latimer's of Shifnal

Shifnal South and Cosford, Shropshire
20/12/2020: Great food & excellent wine, what more could you ask for. Had a lovely night at Latimer’s, we couldn’t fault anything, can’t wait to return for more of that amazing cheesecake.👏
19/12/2020: Absolutely delicious meal. Shared a meal with my family, I had whitebait to start which were amazing. Mother and wife had garlic mushrooms which were better than ever! Sister had the soup of the moment - cauliflower, red pepper and blue cheese. Very different but absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend the rib eye steak for main as it was cooked to perfection.

Cheals of Henley

Henley, Stratford-on-Avon
30/11/2020: We managed to book a table just prior to the second lockdown and all necessary Covid guidelines were being strictly followed. The staff were extremely friendly and efficient without being over-attentive. .The restaurant has a lovely ambiance and when we visited was very busy which is always a good sign. We opted for the six-course taster which couldn’t be faulted. The food was superb and very well presented. The whole meal was a lovely experience. Highly recommended restaurant, we will definitely be back.
05/11/2020: My wife and I managed to secure a booking last night just before lockdown commenced to celebrate our 43rd wedding anniversary today, 5th November. What an experience in taste it turned out to be, and Cheal's have totally nailed the "social distancing" requirements with tasteful screen between the tables that in no way leave the diner feeling crowded or hemmed in. All of the serving staff are wearing appropriate masks and gloves that in no way are clinicalWe chose the Taster Menu and following a delicious Amuse Bouche and the Cheal's freshly cooked breads we enjoyed a simply amazing 6 course meal that included:Ponzu Cured Sea Trout which was so, so fresh on the plate, and possibly my wife's favorite courseCrispy Duck Yolk with smoked haddock, spinach and potato espuma that was absolutely divine and possibly my favorite course of the evening Cornish Plaice, with mussels, leek kohirabi and a saffron sauce - very delicate cooking and out of this world to tasteLamb Rump with faggot (really!) and potato gnocchiWe then diverted from the suggested Taster Menu dessert and chose Apple & Blackcurrant Millefefeuille - OMG, this might be the very best dessert either of us has ever enjoyed, served with apple compot and a blackcurrant sorbet it was genuinely heavenly. We finished with a selection of cheeses, all helped down by excellent wines. It was just over 3 hours of stunning experiences, not least due to the professionalism of all of the Cheal's team who allowed us to set the pace of the servings. Many thanks to all at Cheal's, we look forward to returning in December

The Karczma

Nechells, Birmingham, 20-30£

The Hayloft

Meriden, Solihull
06/11/2020: Due to this current pandemic my daughter and her partner were due to have there reception at the Barn at a date in late November, they decided to bring everything forward and with the help of the Will and the staff at the barn managed to get the last available spot before the second lockdown, they will be eternally grateful. They did get married the day before. Can I say that everything that we asked for was catered for and nothing was missed, even a fork lift that Will had arranged so the photographer could take aerial photos, even though only a maximum of 15 people could attend it was excellent.A special mention to the chef (and his staff) he popped in to see if everything was ok he got a thoroughly deserved round of applause, his food was amazing and we had a few courses all cooked to perfection brilliant and thank you.So inclosing I would have no hesitation of recommending the Barn at Berryfields for what ever you choose to do from a meal to a function it is gratifying to know that there are still people about who will go that extra mile to help in theses trying times.
29/10/2020: Visited with my family and was really impressed. Online booking was easy (and free) and staff who greeted us at the entrance were really friendly. All covid measures were in place and it get nice and safe. At the checkout the lady explained how all of the pumpkins were grown on their land and all harvested by the family. It has a lovely family feel to it. Will definitely be back to use the other facilities and next year for more pumpkins. Thank you
