No 3 Restaurant & Bar

Ross-on-Wye East, Herefordshire, County of
11/10/2020: Managed to get booked same day as there had been a cancellation, after being highly recommended. Stunning food, quick/helpful/friendly service and a good choice on the menu. Our starters were the best we’ve had anywhere for a long time! I had the Crab & smoked salmon boudin and my husband the sticky pulled lamb saladLots of clear plastic screens up to segregate diners so felt ok from a covid perspective. We’ll definitely return.
08/10/2020: Visited 6/10 with 4 people and it didn't disappoint. Owner was welcoming, happy to chat about the place and how he had got it to where it was. Food was outstanding 4 different meals served within 15 minutes of ordering all superb, the gnocchi especially was so tasty and my steak cooked to perfection. Definitely recommended a cosy and delightful place.

Orles Barn Hotel Restaurant

Ross-on-Wye West, Herefordshire, County of, >100£
24/09/2020: Excellent dinner. I had the beef, she had the she had the sea bream and both were both relish and of the highest quality. The desserts looked amazing but simply not enough room to try. The staff were very good. We were served quickly and have us tips and Info, and the whole place was very well organised and felt very COVID safe.
18/09/2020: Highly recommend. We have just returned from a fabulous 2 night break at Orles Barn. The hotel has a warm inviting atmosphere and is immaculate throughout, it has been beautifully decorated and has well kept gardens front and back. However the real beating heart of this hotel are Roxy and Matt they are a fabulous couple and team. They make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive nothing is too much trouble, the perfect hosts. Roxy’s front of house skills complementing Matts delicious food and yes the food is delicious, it’s as good if not better than the reviews. The wonderful aromas from the kitchen did not disappoint in the eating. Matt is a very talented chef who uses fresh local quality ingredients. His food is second to none and to say that we are big fans is an understatement. I could write more but hopefully pictures say it all, just wish we lived closer. That said we’ve booked another night stay in October and can’t wait. Thank you Roxy & Matt

Grand Central Kitchen Birmingham

Ladywood, Birmingham
04/10/2020: Read the reviews and thought my wife, daughter and her bf would give it a try after a Saturday night out celebrating our daughters 18th birthday. Wasn't let down. Staff were so friendly and and made us feel welcome and safe. The food was great. Will definitely back next time we visit Birmingham.
04/10/2020: Full English is perfect. Been visiting for 3 years now. Staff is outstanding and food is great every time

Pascal at the Old Vicarage

Branston, East Staffordshire, 20-30£
07/10/2020: Just visited for lunch to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Not only was it the best meal we have had here, we cannot think of a more enjoyable one anywhere. Thank you to all.
05/10/2020: Delightful staff very attentive without being overbearing. First class service and food was very good, well presented. Nice choice of wines. Good atmosphere without annoying music blearing out.

Ladywood, Birmingham
02/10/2020: Went for a very delayed birthday celebration. An absolutely amazing meal with the beautiful wine flight as well. The waiters and waitresses were friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. My only 2 issues were the table of 4 next to us.. obnoxious and far too loud and opinionated for such an intimate setting and the chef getting a little shouty at the waiting staff. We could clearly hear him using the f word from our table. Such a shame.
28/09/2020: I visited with my husband for a very delayed birthday celebration.Food - we had the tasting menu and it was absolutely delicious. So much thought and attention had clearly gone into every dish. I was initially concerned about portion sizes (either I wouldn't be able to manage all the courses or whether if I would be hungry at the end) but I had no reason to worry, they were perfect. I would love to try the tasting menu in the winter to see the difference in dishes. Drinks - we are not wine drinkers so we didn't opt for the accompanying wines for the tasting menu but I did have two different cocktails and they were great and tasted fantastic.Service - the staff were all really attentive and helpful. They made sure to comply with COVID restrictions/rules they had in place. The descriptions and information for each course was really good. They couldn't have done more for us and always checked we were ok (without it being annoying or too often). We really enjoyed our visit and I definitely want to come back!

33 the Scullery

Stratford Guild and Hathaway, Stratford-on-Avon
26/09/2020: This restaurant justly deserves its no 3 slot in the best restaurants in Stratford. Doesn't look much from the outside but it is clean and bright. Covid regs were dealt with properly and even sanitizer on the tables. We both had scallops followed by pork loin. Both were presented beautifully. They say you eat with your eyes don't they? The staff were attentive. Just one downside. Starter prices for wine was in my opinion a touch to steep. Overall though a good meal was had.
25/09/2020: Excellent meal and wine enjoyed by my Wife and myself with excellent service from the staff. Restaurant was clean and food was really tasty.

The George & Dragon Inn

Much Wenlock, Shropshire, <20£

La Casa Loco

Caldecott, Rugby, 30-45£
26/09/2020: I went to pick up my takeaway order. they told me to wait downstairs .. no one came, I went up again after 15 minutes and they said it was ready a long time ago and it was waiting for me, they gave me everything in one bag which was too heavy and everything fell out because the bag broke. I do not recommend.
14/09/2020: Mixed experience - Always had great meals here and Saturday was no exception - lovely food. But, the peculiar mask policy means we just won't be returning again until it's over. Staff member insisted that I MUST buy masks upstairs and we were charged for masks by default. I was expected to use one but i don't have to by law as I have a government exemption and I don't have to disclose my reasons subject to Gov.Uk. Never had issues anywhere until Saturday at Casa Loco. This mask thing was never mentioned when friend booked online nor in the confirmation. Will look forward to returning, perhaps, when mask policy matches other restaurants or is gone and I or others don't have to risk my health by being forced into wearing one or being unfairly charged for one. It's a shame as I've always loved coming here.

Loxley's Restaurant & Wine Bar

Stratford Guild and Hathaway, Stratford-on-Avon, 20-30£
13/10/2020: Booked here for a last meal whilst visiting the area. Had a great day in Stratford upon Avon finished off with a lovely meal at Loxley’s.Warm friendly greeting at the door with all COVID precautions taken, shown to our table where we had a lovely meal for three. All had different mains and all were superb. Table staff were friendly and helpful. Sarah being very knowledgable with regards to our allergen questions. Would certainly recommend Loxley’s to anyone looking for a meal in Stratford and would definitely visit again when next in the area.
13/10/2020: Absolutely amazing first-class food. The staff was incredibly friendly, especially Emilie, who took care of us and gave us helpful tips on the menu. Pleasant atmosphere and cozy place. "Do you think because you are virtuous, that there shall be no more cakes and ale?" (from 'Twelfth Night': Act 2, Scene 3).

Greyhound Inn

Longford, Coventry
27/09/2020: I've always loved The Greyhound, never had a bad experience here! This was our first visit since the pandemic started. We sat outside at the front, in a marquee-style affair. All the tables were spaced apart, all the staff wore masks, and kept as far away from you as possible. All ordering was done via an app, then drinks & food were brought out. Felt very safe, and yet still welcoming and friendly! Lovely view of the canal junction too. Food was excellent as always, and my other half loves the dark mild.
24/09/2020: Lovely meal, welcoming staff,as I am gluten free they went out of there way to accommodate me.frirndly table service

The Opposition Bistro

Stratford Guild and Hathaway, Stratford-on-Avon, 45-60£
09/10/2020: This place is bigger than it looks from the outside. It goes quite far back and has cosy tables, booths and a brighter seating area towards the back decorated with posters from various Shakespeare plays. There was the option of a set menu but we opted to choose from the main menu. We started with a basket of bread which was plenty for 2 people (6 large chunks) and came with butter, oil and balsamic vinegar. We then both had the lasagne which was lovely (and incredibly hot!) but the best bit was the garlic focaccia bread that came with it - delicious! We were too full to try dessert but the options looked good and very varied. Staff were very friendly and helpful and all COVID safely measures were well adhered to. I wouldn’t hesitate to come back here in the future if I’m in Stratford.
07/10/2020: Visited here on my birthday. My first meal out since COVID so I was pretty nervous about it. When we arrived we wore our masks as per regulations and were seated at our table by our waitress who was also masked. So far so good. We both ordered steak and it was delicious and cooked perfectly. We were really enjoying our evening until two couples arrived together and were allowed to walk in and be seated without masks. They were allowed to get up and go outside to smoke and go to the loo (passing our table a number of times) and at no point did the staff tell them they should be wearing a mask. We were very uncomfortable so we didn’t order dessert and left a lot earlier than we would have due to this. It was only as we were leaving that our waitress told this group that they should be wearing masks! Too little too late. We will not be returning.

The Haughmond

Tern, Shropshire, >100£
11/10/2020: Decided to visit to try out the new menu. OMG all I can say was it was just perfect. I have never been disappointed with any food here and you think it cant get any better but each time I go they just take it to another level. The atmosphere is just wonderful, the service was fantastic and the wine perfect. Stephanie the manager has the knowledge and skills in matching the perfect wine with the food. Despite the COVID restrictions, it is cleverly done and this not have any negative effect on the evening. cant wait to go again.
09/10/2020: My wife and I went for a saturday evening meal. The food and service was exellent and the staff were attentive and friendly. All Covid precautions were in place and we felt very safe.

Priory, Malvern Hills
26/09/2020: First visit and certainly not our last. Really good three courses: garlic bread/bruschetta, Chicken/swordfish, cheesecake/ice cream plus drinks and coffee for just over £63 for two. Good value and excellently cooked and presented. Service was attentive and friendly.
25/09/2020: Peppe's was a great place for our Wedding Anniversary meal. Lively, buzzy, lovely service and great Italian food - but enhanced from the standatd High Street trattoria. Our visit coincided with the firts night of 10pm closures for pubs and restaurants but we were not hurried along with reasonable rests between courses. We spoke to the manager about the impact of the early closure on their business. She reckoned that for Malvern the changes would habe a negligible effect as most people have finished eating by that time anyway.

Casa Naranjo

Quarry and Coton Hill, Shropshire, 20-30£
08/10/2020: Authentic Tapas with a great atmosphere and friendly service every time which is why we keep going back!!!
04/10/2020: Covid cancelled wedding in Spain so sought some recompense here. Lovely relaxed evening, delicious food, friendly service - practiced a little Spanish.

Priory, Malvern Hills
24/09/2020: My partner and I came from London to visit Malvern and have to say this is the best Indian food I have ever eaten! It is a bit more expensive than your typical local Indian but it’s evident why when you taste the quality of the food. I had the daloshi chicken which, onion bhaji and palek paneer and all were incredible. I am also not drinking right now so probably tastes even better after a bottle of wine! Highly recommend.
24/09/2020: We have been visiting this restaurant for over twenty years on a monthly basis and have never been disappointed. The food and service are excellent and even in these difficult times they have maintained a very high standard.
