The Olive Tree

Cheadle West, Staffordshire Moorlands, <20£
17/08/2018: Myself and my husband have dined here now on a number of occasions. Either just us as a couple or with a group of friends. The food is outstanding. You will not find better tapas anywhere else!
17/08/2018: Visited the restaurant on the recommendation of our guest house. With Cheadle being a small town we weren’t expecting much but the staff were super friendly, even giving us all a hug as we left. The food was brilliant with not a bad dish. Started with a Russian salad and Artisan breads. Lovely. Then between three of us 6 tapas dishes all of them wonderful. Highlights were the Rioja Lamb and the mussels. Unlikely to be back in Cheadle but if we are we’d definitely visit again.

Ye Olde Steppes

Pembridge and Lyonshall with Titley, Herefordshire, County of
27/08/2018: We found this place on trip advisor and decided to book before our glamping weekend as previous reviews mentioned how busy it gets.
25/08/2018: We visited the tea room whilst staying at the local campsite. The staff were all wonderful including the young girl who served us. She took time showing me the cake options displayed on a wonderful table and carefully checked dairy free options for my youngest son (there was 4 including a daury free millionaires shortbread which is unheard of!)

Whitchurch North, Shropshire
17/08/2018: This is our 3rd time here, lovely place, friendly staff, food fresh and tasty, good beer and wine. Recommend you book popular place.
07/08/2018: I say this because I just cannot rate this restaurant highly enough (see previous reviews)

Pascal at the Old Vicarage

Branston, East Staffordshire, 20-30£
18/08/2018: We have dined at The Old Vicarage many times and we always receive a very friendly welcome, excellent service and fantastic food! My husband and I celebrated my birthday and we had a very special meal. We would certainly recommend this venue to all! Thanks again to all the hard working staff and we look forward to returning in the near future.
18/08/2018: Beautiful building. Decor simple but very elegant. Staff just so attentive, professional, but friendly. Food was just amazing. We have eaten there many times and have never been disappointed. The chef certainly knows his stuff. Karen and Pascal the owners have a little gem. This is not a cheap place.....but excellent value for money considering the food. But it is worth every penny. Would recommend in an instant

La Dolce Vita

Quarry and Coton Hill, Shropshire, 30-45£
15/08/2018: La Famiglia Adaggio’s recent award as “Britain’s Best” is richly deserved. Forget the Italian chain restaurants – La Dolce Vita provides equal value for 10 times the quality. No wonder people travel from all over the Midlands to Shrewsbury just to sample La Dolce Vita’s superlative cuisine. If you’re passionate about Italian food and like to dine in a friendly and informal atmosphere you’ll find no better place either outside or within Italy.
08/08/2018: What a great treat eating some of Italy’s best cuisine in Shrewsbury... a lovely restaurant full of charm and great service. This is one place that we will visit time and again whenever we are’s a must for lovers of Italian delight!!

No 3 Restaurant & Bar

Ross-on-Wye East, Herefordshire, County of
20/08/2018: Six of us dined here in July - we had to wait about 3 weeks to get a booking which is obviously a testament to its popularity in Ross.
20/08/2018: Dined here last December, it was christmas week and they were fully booked as you would expect but they were so accommodating and with some compromise fitted us in at the bar.

The Red Lion at Claverdon

Claverdon, Stratford-on-Avon
14/08/2018: We were debating what to do about lunch on Monday 6th August, I had previously passed The Red Lion on my way back from Redditch when there was a problem with the M42. We left Coventry heading for The Red Lion. Arriving at the pub we were greeted with quite a large car park with a fantastic view. Although it was a warm day we decided to sit inside in a very spacious well decorated restaurant. At first glance you might be alarmed at the prices but being completely honest the food is worth every penny, its cooked fresh in an open styled kitchen so you can see the chief cooking your dinner which is great. I had the veal which came with a gorgeous mushroom sauce to compliment the veal, the good lady ordered the fish, I was so jealous when it arrived, it looked amazing. Because she loves me she let me try a piece and the batter is probably the best batter I have ever tasted. Regarding having a drink should you be a lager drinker try the Moretti lager, its pretty good.
13/08/2018: This place is amazing we stoped on the way to Ardencote manor as we was early and oh my god what a wonderful place good was amazing chef went out of his way to make a cheese sauce for my wife the manager was very nice and also went out of his way.

The Tram Inn

Castle, Herefordshire, County of
18/08/2018: This is my sort of pub, quaint and traditional, old fashioned even but very wonderful.
12/08/2018: This well presented, old Inn/restaurant is definitely worth a visit whether for just a drink or a good meal. The excellent menu is fully supported by the quality of food and professional, friendly service.

Pundits Fusion

Upton and Hanley, Malvern Hills, 30-45£
30/08/2018: At least once a month we treat ourselves to a Pundits visit, the delicious food and excellent service impresses us over and over again. The Fish Supreme and Tak Jal Misty with rice and cheese nans are to die for, we absolutely love coming here!
28/08/2018: A group of us ate here. Most dishes were mild and sweet, and not to my taste, but I asked for my chicken tikka saag madras hot and it was georgous as was the shashlik. Service good, toilets clean and extra onions provided with the popadoms.

Casa Naranjo

Quarry and Coton Hill, Shropshire, 20-30£
27/08/2018: Brilliant atmosphere and the team serving were really friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, we ordered almost everything! Perfect for a evening with friends and family
27/08/2018: Quaint place-food very tasty-portions readonable, atmosphere on the quiet side, definitely worth a visit

Jervis Arms

Leek East, Staffordshire Moorlands
24/08/2018: So after holidaying in the area we had seen this place on TripAdvisor but not actually visited as never was close by. After our sat nav re routed us from Alton towers on the way home we chance, passed by about 3pm on the afternoon. We were worried they wouldn't be serving food as most places in the area don't seem to open all day for food. They did though, lovely surroundings and lovely food. The staff were really friendly too. Chips were lovely and so were onion rings. Defo would recommend to anyone in the area.
24/08/2018: After a wet walk we arrived dripping and cold, and were immediately offered a warm drink, shown where we could sit in our soaking trousers, and reassured our extreme dampness wasn't a problem. About an hour later we decided to eat and were really impressed by the fish and chips, mushroom risotto and especially the treacle tart and ice-cream. Really friendly service and a quirky attractive decor, the new owners obviously trying really hard and I hope they continue to thrive. Would certainly come again if in the area and great to see lots of families there as we left .

The Crown Inn

Halmerend, Newcastle-under-Lyme, <20£
25/08/2018: Visited this little pub we telephoned prior to our arrival but were told they don’t take telephone bookings, but if we turned up at15 mins prior to opening at 6 that we would get s table
23/08/2018: There is always a warm welcome for customers at the Crown. The food really is home cooked and delicious. I enjoyed lasagne today and recommend the chicken tikka kebabs. If you are taking visitors out for a meal this place is well worth a visit.

The Moody Cow

Old Gore, Herefordshire, County of, >100£
20/08/2018: We ate here on a Saturday night fully expecting a lovely experience having read the Trip Advisor reviews. I had the BBQ Ribs which appear to be a signature dish and they were very nice. My wife had the beef pie which tasted ok but the filling was a strange orange colour. When she asked for more gravy she was told that was not possible as all the gravy was in the pie. No extra gravy is a sure fire way to upset a northern lass. My cheesecake dessert was delicious but again my wife chose the wrong option by going for the Pistachio Semi Freddo which was tasteless and came as a very small portion. Overall a mixed experience compounded by slightly excessive prices including the beer at £4.40 a pint.
18/08/2018: Lovely food, great atmosphere, experience was lovely from start to finish. Made to feel very welcome .

The Green Dragon

Church Stretton and Craven Arms, Shropshire, >100£
19/08/2018: This is the better of the 2 pubs in little Stretton. I d advise booking as it gets busy. Food is great , generous portions and friendly staff. Bonus for us as we can take the dog with us .
16/08/2018: Visited on a gloomy Monday for a family lunch. Luckily arrived early as hadn’t booked but had a table for us- half an hour later and we would have missed out so next time I’ll book.
