The White Hart

Witley and Hambledon, Waverley
20/06/2018: A quiet family meal. Stuck next to birthday party for young person with huge noise. Plenty of other empty tables to give us.
03/06/2018: We visited early evening on Saturday 2nd June on the assumption that their burgers were their signature dish. However, the portions were small, the burgers extremely tasteless and served cold. A thoroughly disappointing meal and service and would not recommend.

The Donkey

Frensham, Dockenfield and Tilford, Waverley
19/06/2018: We had the Sunday roast, one Turkey and the other Pork. It was OK but it wasn't as stellar as reported here, gravy was quite nice but the rest was just average. Pork was mostly belly slices which is as cheap a cut as there...
04/06/2018: We have been before some years ago and remember it as being very good. Not this time. The food is over priced, I would expect something special for a £10.00. Starter, but I could have done better myself. Our Mains were very average, my Fillet...

The Grantley Arms

Blackheath and Wonersh, Waverley
19/06/2018: The menu at this pub/restaurant is excellent. Best to book a table as it is busy. Car parking inadequate.
19/06/2018: We visited during the week for lunch. The pub & charming patio garden was humming with customers & activity. The 4 of us sat at the lovely cool, shaded table in the corner. The atmosphere was vibrant & welcoming. The service was VG, despite a slight...

The Spotted Cow

Farnham Bourne, Waverley, 30-45£
18/06/2018: We managed to get a table here on Fathers Day although not out to celebrate that. The atmosphere was very friendly and the staff although busy were always checking to make sure everything was ok.
14/06/2018: We went dog walking with Friends at Frensham Pond and wanted somewhere dog friendly for a nice lunch. We found the Spotted Cow only 3 miles away and the reviews were good so off we went. A nice big carpark and away from the main road in a nice secluded spot with a small garden directly in front and another higher up in a woodland clearing. As we walked up we saw the outside pizza oven with fresh dough and several people eating them. So 3 of our group of 4 went for pizza and we were not disappointed – they were really good and a large size. If you couldn’t manage it all they give you a pizza box to take it home. The best pizza I have had for some time and service was very prompt. Would definitely go back just for the pizza!

The Red Lion Inn

Shamley Green and Cranleigh North, Waverley, <20£
18/06/2018: We had a very enjoyable lunch with good choice of real ales, Sunday roasts and a la carte menu plus attentive and welcoming service.
14/06/2018: We were a party of 8 visiting for a lunchtime get together. I had been here a couple of times before, and was pleased to see that everything had remained consistently good.

The Wheatsheaf

Farnham Castle, Waverley, 20-30£
18/06/2018: 10 of us ate here for Father's Day lunch - amazing roast potatoes, our favourite local gin (Silent Pool - try it with Mediterranean Fever Tree + a slice of orange) and good service. The food took as long to arrive as I would expect for a table of 9, and it was sooo tasty and fresh, perfectly cooked - I had the roast beef, others had the lamb and I was a little jealous!
11/06/2018: From the street this looks like a small pub but it has hidden depths. Great range of drinks and what looked like an excellent menu this pub comes with good service and a great atmosphere.

Dylan's Ice Cream

Haslemere Critchmere and Shottermill, Waverley
18/06/2018: Wonderful flavours, truly creamy and delicious. Not much room in the cafe but on a sunny day, there are seats outside. Staff are brilliant and so helpful.
18/06/2018: Great home made ice cream served with a smile, always love bringing the kids here. There are tons of flavour options and toppings too - spoilt for choice. If you’re heading to Haslemere make this top of the list!

The Duke of Cambridge

Frensham, Dockenfield and Tilford, Waverley, <20£
19/06/2018: My family and I ate at this pub for the first time for the recent Father's Day. Our dog accompanied us and was warmly welcomed. The service was exceptional with nothing too much trouble. The staff were v friendly and the food absolutely delicious. There is an excellent dog walk nearby at Frensham and I would highly recommend a visit to both.
18/06/2018: The food was well prepared and excellent, we had two gluten free lunches and each were equally delicious. We checked to make sure the fish and chips were prepared in a dedicated fryer and our waitress confirmed they were which is such a rare treat to have fish and chips when your gluten free. The staff are friendly and helpful and made our visit enjoyable. This is a fun pub in a beautiful spot. We will be back!

The Squirrel Country Pub

Godalming Charterhouse, Waverley
18/06/2018: Dropped in for a refreshment stop on journey down A3. Lovely pub with huge grounds and dog friendly. We chose to eat in and pooch was given water and lots of cuddles. For a lighter lunch time bite I chose the coronation chicken sandwich - it was enormous and delicious with it. My only complaint - it cost me my appetitefor my evevning meal. Super and would love to pip back.
18/06/2018: We had great service. Paul and his staff took excellent care of us. We, and several family stayed there and held the celebration of life for our father in their restaurant and pub. Could not be happier with the level of service.

The Winterton Arms

Chiddingfold and Dunsfold, Waverley
21/06/2018: Stopped for a pint (which was a good pint). Best bit was the stall selling fresh fruit. Some of the best cherries we have had! Much better than the supermarket rubbish and good value. May have to pop back for more and to try the...
11/06/2018: This long established pub, alongside the historic main road towards Petworth, had been struggling for a while and new management has completely rejuvenated the establishment, to become a very appealing venue once again. The bar and restaurant features old style furnishings, in a traditional setting,...

Cote Brasserie - Farnham

Farnham Castle, Waverley
21/06/2018: Went for a special celebration. By chance took advantage of their 10th anniversary menu. Food was exceptionally good quality. Service was excellent and prompt too considering it was a weekday evening. Fantastic atmosphere - everyone enjoying themselves.
20/06/2018: Had a very nice breakfast from their fixed price deal. Good value, nice choices and very tasty. Highly recommended.

Three Compasses

Alfold, Cranleigh Rural and Ellens Green, Waverley
09/05/2018: A really out of the way pub which was worth the SatNav’s confusing directions. We visited for a mid-week lunch.
29/04/2018: We popped into The Three Compasses for a sandwich and was greeted by the friendly landlord. We chose to sit in the back room which looked like it had been recently decorated with new tables and chairs. The food was tasty and the chips divine!

Daniele Sicillian Restaurant

Farnham Weybourne and Badshot Lea, Waverley
18/06/2018: Gorgeous bijou restaurant with fantastic service and beautifully presented food, which tasted absolutely delicious! Regional music in the background was delightful. This restaurant is tucked out of the way, next to St John's Church Hale - the church being visible from the main road, but the restaurant isn't.
18/06/2018: Food was delicious Service was friendly and efficient Atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming We booked a table for early evening as we had our 1 week old son with us. Staff were more than accommodating.

Georgian House Hotel Restaurant

Haslemere East and Grayswood, Waverley
31/03/2018: After an early morning walk round haslemere town we decided to treat ourselves to a cooked breakfast. We called into the Georgian hotel and asked if they served breakfast to non-residents and we were made most welcome!
02/02/2018: This hidden gem is a must visit for any locals or visitors to the area. On entering the restaurant you will immediately feel at home and relaxed in this brasserie style set up, and then subsequently blown away by beautifully presented food, where every detail on the plate has been meticulously thought through and was absolutely delicious. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and I will be recommending to friends and family and coming back soon for another gin tasting evening.
