The Market Place

Cowbridge, The Vale of Glamorgan, >100£
17/06/2018: Although the setting was nice and staff appeared to be curtious and friendly, the steak I was delivered was cirtainly not checked and should not of left the kitchen. The plate was returned for the attention of the chief who offered a new meal which...
27/05/2018: Visited for Sunday lunch today following resolution of our voucher issue. Glad we did as the lunch was very good indeed. Empty plates for each course says it all, will definitely be returning as soon as we can

St. Bride's Major, The Vale of Glamorgan
15/06/2018: Came to Frolics to celebrate our 30th wedding Anniversary and daughter passing her test. We've never been before but were treated fabulously by the staff. The food was amazing, service was friendly and attentive and We felt prices were extremely good for the quality of food and service. We were even presented with a free bottle of Prosseco to take with us to continue celebrating our special day
07/05/2018: Always a warm welcome from Franco and great service throughout the meal. The food is delicious with a good range of starters, tasty pasta dishes cooked to perfection and lovely desserts (the creme brûlée was amazing). The restaurant is in a beautiful location so a stroll to the beach after a great meal is a must.

Llanerch Vineyard Restaurant

4 offers
Peterston-super-Ely, The Vale of Glamorgan, 20-30£
17/06/2018: My husband and I enjoyed a birthday meal here. The Bistro and Restaurant now serve the same menu but I think the restaurant is a nicer place to sit and you can request that when booking. Lots on the menu ee fancied and a good mix of bistro typical e.g fish and chips vs restaurant style e.g my duck breast with rhubard and a dusk bhaji. Husband had hake in a shellfish broth. Both absolutely lovely. Desserts good too and service in restaurant friendly and efficient. However the bar man although fine with me I did witness being what I would consider rude/condescending with two other customers. Hence 4 not 5 stars.
16/06/2018: Visited here with a group of friends on our annual summer outing. Not sure what I expected as have never visited a vineyard before, but as we did Thatchers Cider last year I expected a something along the same lines.

Restaurant James Sommerin

Plymouth, The Vale of Glamorgan
20/06/2018: I ate with my wife at the restaurant on a Tuesday in May 18.
16/06/2018: We have been here numerous times and are always blown away by the wonderful food creations and flavours. The restaurant provides a relaxed atmosphere with amazing views across the beach front promenade to the sea...a must try for all

The Hare & Hounds

Cowbridge, The Vale of Glamorgan
21/06/2018: Heard good reports so decided to pop in . All three courses were delicious and well served by pleasant staff .. So impressed can’t wait to return .. lovely!
19/06/2018: This place is a small country pub with a wonderful restaurant. The menu selections are not pub based at all but very sophisticated. The food is all fresh and sourced locally or from their own kitchen garden. The food really is amazing. The chef is a holder of the Bib Gourmand from the Michelin Guide. The restaurant's decor is quite basic with scrubbed wooden tables but clean and airy. The staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable with the wines and menu. Would advise booking ahead for a Friday or Saturday night. This pub also has a nice garden area if the weather is conducive for a drink before dining.

Johns Cafe

Baruc, The Vale of Glamorgan
19/06/2018: Needed a breakfast one morning, nothing in house. Saw this cafe on a local website, had good ratings so thought I would try it. It's actually on Barry Island, so to be honest, as with seaside cafes, I wasn't expecting much. However, the quality and quantity of the full English breakfast was phenomenal. I struggled to finish it all. I am now trying to "engineer" another occasion where we have nothing to eat in the house.
19/06/2018: Another great visit and a fantastic meal lovely clean cafe and friendly staff the food is always hot and well presented and the portions are large always eat here when I visit Barry Island

The Highwayman Inn

Rhoose, The Vale of Glamorgan, 20-30£
20/06/2018: We called into the highwayman inn just outside rhoose and it was amazing we phoned ahead a we didn't know what time they stopped serving and managed to hook a table for 8.30 the stop cooking at 9, we both had bartered cod and chips and the portions were huge, the fish was cooked to perfection and the batter was lovely and crispy, what Gem of a place I really look forward to returning and trying the steak or fillet kebabs
18/06/2018: We were travelling to crete on the 15th may and called in to the highwayman for a full english breakfast to start or holiday. What a delightful place ! Tastefullly decor spotlessly clean and a warm welcome from the landlady. I can honestly say this was one of the best full english breakfast I have ever had! Cooked to perfection, nicely presented, piping hot more than generous portion and totally delicous! There were six of us and we all were very satisfied , it kept us going all day, and if the breakfast was an example of the quality of the rest of the menu, then we can't wait to return again.

Cowbridge, The Vale of Glamorgan
20/06/2018: Popped in without booking and accommodated without complaint but helpful warning that the kitchen may be a little slow then; helpful and reasonable.
18/06/2018: Booked a table for 2 on a Friday night as a last minute treat. Unusual set up with decent bar and open kitchen, which is very focused on a meat / pizza oven. Great choice of food with loads of pizzas on the menu but it's far more than that. Great food and choice.

The Six Bells Village Pub & Restaurant

Rhoose, The Vale of Glamorgan, 30-45£
15/06/2018: My partner and I were invited to a friends wedding at the Six Bells and the overall experience was wonderful. From the beautiful traditional pub interior to the fab marquee set up it was a practical and fun venue for a wedding. The best part...

Blue Anchor Inn

Buttrills, The Vale of Glamorgan
21/06/2018: As always Blue Anchor delivered a pleasant lunch with good service. Family run business so they make the extra effort. Never been disappointed.
