Verveine Fishmarket Restaurant

Milford, New Forest, 45-60£
12/12/2018: Back again for a 3rd visit. What can I say outstanding, we were blown away by the presentation, taste and service. What a magical fun experience if you think you have been to good restaurants this knocks the socks off anything you have experienced 5 star all the way.
09/12/2018: We love this restaurant, we have been coming since it opened and are never disappointed. The food is simply out of this world - David is a culinary magician and all the staff are lovely. On our last visit we had the most amazing prawns with satay sauce, coconut and hazelnut puree, turbot with fettucini (could have eaten it again) and the dessert was heavenly so well prepared and simply so so delicious. The after dinner chocolate fudge has always been a real favourite of mime and cannot wait to try and make it from your book (bought as a Christmas present for my husband and can't wait to try some recipes) So much work goes into each dish they are always presented beautifully and each element explained. If you only go to one restaurant make sure it is this one. Thankyou as usual

Lymington Town, New Forest
12/12/2018: this is a return visit after quite some time almost a year. the same high standard of service, quality of food and drink. a little on the expensive side however as a treat or special occasion lanes is truly unbeatable. larry
07/12/2018: Restaurants only last a long time if they are very good, and Lanes is certainly good. Food that is exquisite without being overly fussy, professional waiting staff and a calm and friendly atmosphere.

Rose and Thistle

Downlands and Forest, New Forest
12/12/2018: Five of us visited for Sunday Lunch on 09.12.18 during a family visit to the New Forest. We were blown away by the food - simply amazing.
12/12/2018: We stopped at the Rose & Thistle for Sunday lunch whilst driving through the New Forest. The reviews looked great so we thought we’d give it a go and were so glad we did. We didn’t book in advance so were very lucky to get a table for two. We both had the Roast Beef followed by Crumble/Queen of Puddings and they were all delicious. Staff were lovely and really welcoming, whilst some of the locals advised us on where best to stop to see some New Forest ponies. Would definitely recommend.

Les Mirabelles Restaurant

Bramshaw, Copythorne North and Minstead, New Forest
01/12/2018: As usual the standard of food and service was very good. I visited Les Mirabelles twice in November and was disappointed that the "specials" and the vegetable selection and potato served, were the same both times.
30/11/2018: My wife took myself and friends in for dinner,on a Wednesday night, place was busy with two large tables so booking is recommended

The Elderflower Lymington

Lymington Town, New Forest
15/12/2018: We went to eat the food that is this year's Christmas season offering. Char has come up with dishes using ingredients that were served in Tudor times, but although the ingredients may be historical, the treatment was anything but!!!
11/12/2018: Ordered the taster menu to celebrate my son's birthday with one of our party gluten free and another not requiring shellfish. All catered for and food was excellent with service great bearing in mind that we were late having been let down by the taxi firm. Intimate and cosy atmosphere. Gin choice is poor given prices being charged but overall this is very good and well worth a visit

Peggy Mays Cafe

Lyndhurst, New Forest, <20£
12/11/2018: My wife and I took our two grandchildren 18 months and 6 years to this cafe for lunch. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good food and good value for either light lunch or afternoon tea.
08/11/2018: This review is based on my experience on the day and could be different for you.

The Monkey House

Buckland, New Forest, >100£
13/12/2018: Went here one evening in midweek. Greeted by the friendly bar staff. There are two main bar/seating areas with lovely open fires that set a lovely ambience.
11/12/2018: Love this pub, especially midarvo on a wet Sunday. Ian's roast beef is always superbly cooked and accompanied with fresh veggies perfectly cooked. You pay a few quid more than some other favorites in Lymington, but it is simply the best. Highly recommended.

Bistro 26

Brockenhurst and Forest South East, New Forest
21/11/2018: A lovely, authentic meal served by very friendly staff! I guess we were a little disappointed to find that the restaurant was on a main road and not in the village centre but it made no difference. This was an excellent, reasonably priced meal. What more could you ask for?
08/11/2018: Had the opportunity to visit Brockenhurst and found this lovely Thai Restaurant. we had a great Thai meal at a reasonable price. Staff were attentive even though they were busy. They also offer a take-away service

Hotel TerraVina Restaurant

Ashurst, Copythorne South and Netley Marsh, New Forest, >100£
14/12/2018: First visit was back in April 18 (coffee only but very impressed back then) and not been since, so was looking forward to a lunch meeting with 5 other friends. Offered a menu with wraps, sandwiches, small lunch plates, soup etc and then there was a specials of the day board. Lamp shanks £12.50 which was oh so tempting and garlic crevettes served with black garlic mayonnaise £10.50. Three of my friends went for a blue cheese and rosemary quiche which they loved, one went for a wrap that looked delicious, another chose the soup but I had the last crevette portion in the restaurant! OMG. It was simply divine. Lots of crevettes served with brown bread and a bit of salad on the side. Flavour was outstanding....I still can’t praise the chefs enough. Good value for £. Would choose that anytime. But a finger bowl was really needed as shells on prawns and therefore very messy. Excellent friendly service. You must try here!
11/12/2018: Perfect place to visit anytime of the year, excellent choice of food with very pleasant service in really lovely old building, A small hotel making the ideal base to stay for a visit to the new forest & Dorset

The Cliff House Restaurant

Barton, New Forest
10/12/2018: Went to Cliff House for Sunday Lunch yesterday, excellent place to eat, stunning views over Christchurch Bay, comfortable restaurant and excellent Roast Beef with all the trimmings!
09/12/2018: Came for the first time last year and loved it so as we wanted to take the Estate Agent who helped us move to our present address we decided to book here again.

The Thai Corner Restaurant

Dibden and Hythe East, New Forest, 20-30£
11/12/2018: Went as a party of 4 and had prawn crackers to start (£2) and a lunch main. I had sweet and sour chicken with jasmine rice (£7.50). Really good portion and very tasty. The rice was beautiful and the waiter was very attentive. Excellent service, food and price. I will be back.
01/12/2018: What a wonderful place to have lunch on a soggy Saturday. An attractive and clean restaurant, with handy parking nearby.

La Perle

Milford, New Forest
09/12/2018: Ate here with some friends last week, as always La Perle didn’t fail to disappoint! We were greeted by a lovely waiter who showed us to our table. Having sampled the lovely cocktails on offer we decided to try some of the ‘Nibbles’ which are tremendous value for money at 3 for £10. They are all delicious but in particular the Wild Mushroom Arancini is exquisite!
21/11/2018: A little while since my last visit but extremly disappointed with the menu. Where has all the skilful and creative cooking gone ?? When you eat out at a good restaurant you want interesting food - something you don't cook at home. Steak & burgers don't cut it even if well cooked and presented. The chef seems to be the same - is he taking a break from cooking ? This is a lazy menu with no creativity. And it is not cheap - no bread served and some nuts and olives as nibbles cost £8 - really !

Rivaaz Restaurant

Lymington Town, New Forest, >100£
15/12/2018: My first visit to the now fashionable Induan restaurant in Lymington. Its licated in the upper high street area close to M & S. Parking is available in the public car parks or on the high street if your lucky.
15/12/2018: As a group of 7 we arrived just after 7pm and walked into an absolutely packed, buzzing, lively venue

fishermans rest lymington

Lymington Town, New Forest
12/11/2018: Had a nice Thursday night supper in the Fisherman's Rest. Steak night so one enjoyable rump steak plus two excellent hake dishes. Will definitely be coming again.
12/11/2018: We stopped for lunch at the Fisherman’s rest in Lymington in the New Forest, and to be honest our expectations of eating out and enjoying what we eat was diminishing. But speak as you find and we were both pleasantly surprised. We both had the burger and fries with a few onion rings. The burger was very tasty and cooked well and the chips were also good. The only thing I would say could have improved it was a bit of a small side salad to add a bit of colour. But saying all that we really enjoyed what we had. We would eat there again.

The Terrace Restaurant

Brockenhurst and Forest South East, New Forest
27/11/2018: Cannot recommend this restaurant enough, chose the chef's suprise taster menu with fine wine pairing. Sheer delight
06/11/2018: High quality ingredients, cooked with passion and presented with panache. Try the Rose veal. The souffle is well worth the 20 minute wait - what's the hurry!
