Lymington Town, New Forest
15/07/2019: We went to the lanes whilst staying in lymington to celebrate my daughters birthday. Nice setting and very attentive service from Nicola. All six of us enjoyed our meal very much.
15/07/2019: We went to the Lanes restaurant on Friday evening with my Cousins from Canada , and had a wonderful meal , you get a great choice of food and as we all had something different we all said how perfect the meal and service was , as the wife is front of house and her husband is the chef which makes this place so very special. My highlight by far and l am a real fan of this dessert is Bakewell Tart , well oh my go this was the very best tasting Bakewell l have ever had in my life , if l wasn't so full up l would have ordered another one. Fantastic place to eat just down a little lane , remember to park on the high street as there is no parking.

Verveine Fishmarket Restaurant

Milford, New Forest, 45-60£
19/07/2019: This is the sort of place that shows what can be done. Since our last visit I have been diagnosed with a condition which means I have to avoid a number of foods that are major ingredients in most good kitchens. You don't get a menu here as the food is based on what is best on the day so I did wonder how they would cope with my requirements. Perfectly was the answer.
14/07/2019: A hidden gem ... behind a fish counter! Perfect wine pairing, service was knowledgeable & with a smile and each dish a delight to behold. 5 stars!

Peggy Mays Cafe

Lyndhurst, New Forest, <20£
21/07/2019: In so many Towns, even relatively small ones, the High Street is dominated by the Chains of Major Coffee Houses, which have the effect of
17/07/2019: I have been to this charming pastel decor restaurant many times and I am never let down. The service, atmosphere and food are always good. Whether it is sitting outside or inside, with a cappuccino and scone, a breakfast or lunch all have been enjoyable.

The Monkey House

Buckland, New Forest, >100£
22/07/2019: My husband last visited here 30 years ago, so interested to see how it had changed. What a pleasant surprise, apparently under new ownership. We visited on Sunday evening, glad we had booked because it was full., and added bonus was the entertainment We both had the roast, and agreed that it was the best roast we have had in a restaurant. Excellent service. Not a huge choice on the menu, but what they do, appears to be excellent. We saw other meals arriving, and everything looks a high standard. Thoroughly recommend and will definitely visit again
22/07/2019: We ate here two nights running whilst staying at Peel House B&b; two minutes walk away. Both nights we had fish and could not fault either meal. All of food was beautifully cooked and very well presented by the friendliest and most efficient staff we have come across for ages and at extremely reasonable prices. The pub is obviously a favourite with the locals which is always a good sign. As the weather was really warm we sat in the garden having a drink before our meal which was lovely. We both said that we would go back to Lymington just to eat there and also to stay at Peel House which was also a great hit with us. A superb combination just on the edge of the New Forest.

The Elderflower Lymington

Lymington Town, New Forest
20/07/2019: We dined here on Friday 19th July, the last night of our honeymoon, otherwise spent at the slightly lack-lustre Elmers Court Hotel.
20/07/2019: Many years ago this was a good cafe. Since then it has become a really nice restaraunt. The fish we had was some of the best ever & the burger was a work of art. We will be back again.

The London Tavern

Ringwood North, New Forest
22/07/2019: Lovely fresh food cooked to order. Onion rings are great in fact everything we have eaten here is fantastic. Well done London Tavern.
21/07/2019: I’m biased, I know, because this is our local and has been for twenty five years. I also feel very guilty because Lorna and I have only just started visiting The Tavern, although we pass it every day!

Rose and Thistle

Downlands and Forest, New Forest
20/07/2019: Stumbled across this place by accident and decided to stop off for a late lunch, lucky we ordered quickly as the kitchen shuts at 2:15. Nice little place, we sat in the lovely garden outside which have tables and chairs with parasols. We didn’t have to wait to long for food I had the R.A.T burger which when it comes out doesn’t look big and only get as previously stated about 8 chips if that, However the chips are really chunky nice chips and the burger was delicious, juicy and good quality with a little side salad. Prices are quite expensive but that’s what you expect in pubs like this. If I had to list two slight negative comments they would be the female staff were border line rude (not polite and miserable) However the male staff were very professional, happy and nice. And my second negative was behind the table we sat on, my son pointed out dog poo on the grass ( you would expect owners to pick up after their dogs or at least the staff to check) so overall if a few slight changes were made this place would be perfect. Hope to return again next time we pass by.
20/07/2019: Service good, staff nice enough but portions very small and overpriced. RAT burger very dry, very bland and served with 8, yes 8 chips??. Nice setting but won't be going back.

La Perle

Milford, New Forest
21/07/2019: Great food and drink with excellent service. We were looking for a restaurant that would be a real treat for us and this was perfect. Thank you!
09/07/2019: This cosy and popular restaurant took our last-minute booking and provided a pleasant window table.

The Royal Oak Pub

Forest North West, New Forest, <20£
19/07/2019: We came here by chance after a horse ride at the Arniss equestrian centre. We sat out in the garden, the food was excellent and we were entertained by a pair of blue tits feeding their young in a nest built in a crack in the wall of a wooden shed. It was quite charming.
16/07/2019: The Royal Oak is a lovely friendly pub. Great food and a good selection of drinks. Great beer garden too. Would certainly recommend to anyone in the area.

The Thai Corner Restaurant

Dibden and Hythe East, New Forest, 20-30£
20/07/2019: It is always a pleasure, and treat, to come here for dinner. We are always impressed with the quality and quantity of food - you are spoilt for choice. You are never rushed and with attentive service, you are looked after throughout.
27/06/2019: Great food and service. Bought parents here for a birthday meal and could not fault anything. Great value for money

The Village Coffee Pot

Milford, New Forest, <20£
02/07/2019: It is so nice to visit the coffee pot They make you so welcome Breakfast super We can also take our dog
27/06/2019: Had a large breakfast which was very tasty and good quality ingredients. Very friendly ladies served us. Would come back if ever in the area.

Hotel TerraVina Restaurant

Ashurst, Copythorne South and Netley Marsh, New Forest, >100£
22/07/2019: We have been regulars but are starting to find it quite expensive. Don’t normally mind paying a little more but chef didn’t want to change scrambled eggs to poached when served with smoked salmon and avocado. Took some time to attract staff’s attention to order extra drinks. When you paying a premium I expect excellent service.
14/07/2019: The food is superb, the interior design is lovely, the staff are great. I would happily recommend this café

The Cliff House Restaurant

Barton, New Forest
20/07/2019: could not fault anything. The food was amazing and the staff fantastic. And the views on a sunny day were every ones dream.
14/07/2019: Lovely location by the sea. With wonderful weather, bar-b-que food was available with the outside seating. We chose to stay inside and were given a good table by the windows overlooking the beach. We ordered mains where all found the beef dishes were delicious as was my ginger salmon with noodle salad.

The Three Tuns Inn

Bransgore and Burley, New Forest
17/07/2019: Stopped in the Three Tuns whilst staying at a local campsite. The ambience of the pub is lovely, with a dog friendly snug and bar and lovely garden. As it was a nice afternoon we sat outside with the dog. We both ordered burgers which were yummy, and the waitress brought some dog treats out too.
15/07/2019: Good atmosphere, great service and excellent food. All four of us ate off the blackboard menu which features locally sourced ingredients and all had a different meal. Beautiful presentation, super quality and way better than your normal pub food - really good restaurant standard and very reasonable for what it was. Will be going back and highly recommend.

Les Mirabelles Restaurant

Bramshaw, Copythorne North and Minstead, New Forest
25/06/2019: My mum recommended this place as she use to go with her friend who was friends with the owner, she always said she had fabulous meals so we thought my husband and would give it a try.
20/06/2019: Have driven by this restaurant, visited the pub next door, but have never visited this restaurant until this year. If you like French cuisine, then do not miss Le Mirabelles We visited on an early June evening, had we picked a day on which the weather was better it would have enhanced the location. However it did not dampen our evening, the setting was superb, the menu was fairly extensive for a small restaurant, staff were extremely helpful and attentive. Les Mirabelles is not a cheap restaurant, but choosing from the Le Frog bistro menu brings prices right down to a very affordable level without losing quality, presentation or service. We all selected the same starters, each of us chose a different main course and were all very pleased with our selection, so much so that it being our first visit it would be impossible to suggest a "best" meal to pick. It is fine dining and portions do appear to be small, but selecting the le Frog menu where three courses cost £23-50, with the richness of the food, there is sufficient. As in all restaurants the wine is expensive, the cheapest about £26 a bottle, but you can order a single glass of wine from the bar. My only criticism would perhaps be that some of the desserts could be fraction larger, but I have a sweet tooth and am really into desserts, another may consider it substantial.
