Lanes

Lymington Town, New Forest
03/05/2019: Four of us were looking for good quality cooking at not astronomic prices. We found this restaurant and were delighted we had a wonderful meal to end our stay in the New Forest. The starter we had was the pulled pork and was a generous size, my husband & myself shared that. The halibut was delicious. Our friends also had the dessert which looked lovely. We were lucky and managed to park near the entrance to the lane.
29/04/2019: We were visiting the area at Easter and decided to book here for my Partner's birthday after having looked for fine dining restaurants on Trip Advisor. The restaurant is set in a lovely building with galleried seating and has a nice cosy atmosphere. The food was absolutely first class, we were impressed with the quality and presentation of the dishes we had, the service was also very good. All in all, a very memorable meal and reasonably priced too. Would definitely return if in the area again.

Verveine Fishmarket Restaurant

Milford, New Forest, 45-60£
29/04/2019: The restaurant was highly recommended and did not disappoint. You get a choice of number of courses with/without wine and just sit back and enjoy a fabulous unique fish meal. The service is friendly and attentive. I highly recommend the whole experience.
27/04/2019: Small coastal village lucky to have this quality fish restaurant. Great idea to have a menu that simply presents the best available fish each day not a set list of dishes. You order the number of dishes you want and can add if desired., which we did. along with the suggested accompanying wines which were also good value.

Rose and Thistle

Downlands and Forest, New Forest
02/05/2019: Great place to stop for outdoor lunch on bike ride/ other trip. Friendly helpful staff, tasty and varied ploughman's lunch (for two to share) arrived promptly and amply recharged us after long cycle ride.
26/04/2019: Been a few years since I stopped off here and it hasn’t changed one little bit which I am so glad about.

The Elderflower Lymington

Lymington Town, New Forest
04/05/2019: My partner and I had dinner here last night (3/5/19) and it was delicious. The moules frites was perfect and the strawberry cheesecake was one of the best desserts ever. If we ever return to Lymington, I’ll be heading straight back. Also, every member of staff was friendly and delightful. Can’t recommend this place highly enough
29/04/2019: I find it such a treat, to go to a restaurant, and just let Chef do all the thinking! Chef Andrew's menu's, where all you have to decide on is the number of courses you want to eat, are amazing.

The Monkey House

Buckland, New Forest, >100£
05/05/2019: Visited this little gem on a weekend visit to Lymington. What an absolutely fantastic place. The service was friendly and efficient, the place was spotless, and the food...well I’d have to say ‘if carlsberg did Sunday lunches’...it was overall the nicest meal I’ve had in years!! The cheesy garlic bread starter was like no other I’d ever had, and the main of roast beef was stunning!! Followed by a sticky toffee pudding, it was just an absolutely fantastic dining experience. The staff were absolutely lovely too, and we’ll definitely be back. Keep up the good work guys
04/05/2019: We visited this restaurant today and were not disappointed. We had a lovely, friendly greeting from the front of service and the food was superb. I would recommend the sea bass risotto and my husband’s burger was delicious.

Peggy Mays Cafe

Lyndhurst, New Forest, <20£
01/05/2019: Very average, there are much better cafes in Lyndhurst. Food was OK but very mediocre for the price. Definitely gone down hill since it first opened, won't be going back
29/04/2019: Just wanted a quick breakfast before we carried on to Bournemouth as we had not booked breakfast at our hotel.

Hotel TerraVina Restaurant

Ashurst, Copythorne South and Netley Marsh, New Forest, >100£
29/04/2019: What a find. A really lovely little cafe hidden away from the main route but really busy and buzzing. Service was friendly and efficient and food was very good - ham, egg and chips and the veggie brekkie. Can get a little noisy and, as there are quite a few big tables, you may need to share.
20/04/2019: The Spot in the Woods was very busy. We managed to find a table outside on the rear lawn. Had a sausage sandwich and a beer which were really nice. Excellent and speedy service considering how busy they were.

The Thai Corner Restaurant

Dibden and Hythe East, New Forest, 20-30£
05/05/2019: My partner and I booked a table here for 2030, and at first we thought oh that’s so late, but actually it was worth the wait. The owner/ manager was really welcoming, and cracked a few good jokes which kept us smiling all evening. The food was nicely cooked, I had the stir fry with Sea Bass and it was amazing! It is expensive but you get what you pay for, and more, as the dishes aren’t small! Can’t wait to come back!
02/05/2019: Really good Thai cooking (so very busy - booking highly advisable) and they encourage guests to choose the amount of spicy heat they require, so my wife and I could have the same dish - but mine was about twice as hot.

La Perle

Milford, New Forest
05/05/2019: We recently returned to La Perle to try the five course tasting menu on a Tuesday night and it was yet again absolutely first class and, at £29.95 per person, incredibly good value for money. They also have a nice selection of wines at relatively reasonable prices.
04/05/2019: The food in this restaurant is excellent and the menu interesting with generous portions. It is quite small and booking is recommended. We ate in the evening from the normal menu and did not indulge in the tasting menu although that looked to be excellent. Food well presented with efficient service.

The London Tavern

Ringwood North, New Forest
05/05/2019: Arrived for lunch on our way to Bournemouth following a quick Google – followed the sat-nav down a narrowish lane and through a tight turn into the car park….
02/05/2019: Our group of 5 was looking for somewhere new to try and booked at The London Tavern. We received a very warm welcome in a very relaxed bar. The Tavern has conventional and tapas menus and all of us chose two items each from the tapas. The food was tasty and plentiful and the service was first-class and friendly. Everyone enjoyed their choices and we all look forward to an early return. Top Tavern!

Les Mirabelles Restaurant

Bramshaw, Copythorne North and Minstead, New Forest
15/04/2019: We all opted for the three course meal for £23. The food was fantastic & the ambience is to die for. It is a small intimate restaurant so it’s easy to sit and watch the ponies go by! The staff went above and beyond to decorate my fathers pudding - a special touch
14/04/2019: This restaurant is absolutely brilliant the food served here is soo very tasty...yummy and the staff are very friendly

The Royal Oak Pub

Forest North West, New Forest, <20£
28/04/2019: Went there for dinner with friends. Staff have been absolutely lovely, always smiling and courteous. We had the oak forest platter starter to share between three of us - cured meats, salmon, cherry mozzarella, sunblush tomatoes, some vegetables etc on a cutting board. Note that this is recommend for two (definitely not for three). I had the lamb as the main and it was tender and succulent, with dauphinoise potatoes and mushrooms. Others in the party had the duck, which was also much liked. The bread and butter pudding was one of the best I've ever had. Overall the food was delicious, the portions not enormous, possibly on the small side, but enough to be content. Prices are a bit steep, but the lovely food, together with the pleasant service made for a very nice evening out.
14/04/2019: Have been before lunch times but last night was the first evening visit. Variety of local ales was a good start, service by Will was quick and efficient, lots of specials on and the pub was full with customers.

The Cliff House Restaurant

Barton, New Forest
03/05/2019: Pitched on the cliff top this restaurant is ideally situated to just stare out to sea through panoramic windows. Excellent food, reasonably priced, great staff and spotlessly clean. 10/10
30/04/2019: We have been here couple of times now (sometimes twice a week) as we love the atmosphere and service. Very attentive and just what we like! Last time we had Dan greeting us and Jordan was looking after us at the table. We had a good laugh with all of them and the food is delicious. Best desert i ever had and we will be back again soon. Highly recommend it

The Railway

Ringwood South, New Forest
22/04/2019: Popped in on Good Friday for lunch, had heard good things and as they had a beer garden we decided to give them a try. We weren’t disappointed. They have a big list of IPA’s and Gins so good we tried 2! The burger menu has something for everyone including Vegan requirements too. We had the traditional with dirty fries and the venison with normal fries. The burgers were cooked to perfection with just a slight blushing in the middle. Bakehouse 24 buns just finish it off! Can thoroughly recommend.
22/04/2019: They have a variety of gins on offer which is a thumbs up fro me! I had mermaid gin with elderflower tonic. I also had a nice glass of Rose dry wine with dinner. We had burgers and I was catered for as Gluten Free with a burger that came with a bun too! (Often not the case when gluten free).

The Village Coffee Pot

Milford, New Forest, <20£
15/04/2019: Visited with friends for coffee. Small but charming coffee shop serving cakes, breakfasts and lunches. Everything clean and reasonably priced. Warm and welcoming lady served us and didn’t feel rushed to vacate. Daily papers. Sunday lunch looked a good offer and you can take your own wine.
23/03/2019: 16 of our walking group were treated to an excellent meal on a tuesday which the cafe is normally closed.Alex opened especially for us and it was greatly appreciated and everyone had a great time there.
