The Cross Keys

Wolverton, Milton Keynes
21/06/2018: This gastro pub has had a major overhaul which has increased its capacity by 100% and the fact that we were unable to get a reservation of a Tuesday night attests to it popularity. The next week we decided to go on a Wednesday. We managed to get a table but it was still heaving with a mixture of couples, small groups and the odd group of 10+. The Food was excellent, I had the scallops on butternut puree to start and followed it with a vegetable risotto which I was able to add a pan fried fillet of Salmon to. My better half had Olives to start with and followed them with Oven baked Cod served with Dauphiniose potaotes and mushy peas. This meal was advertised as Hand Battered Cod with thich cut chips and as you can see our waiter Eri was very helpful in getting us what we wanted. As I was not driving I had a pint of Erdinger wheat beer which was very good and followed it with a glass or 2 of Malbec. We had a great meal in a buzzy place and it is certainly worth a visit
20/06/2018: An excellent evening with great food in a relaxed but friendly atmosphere. The waiting staff were very friendly and efficient

Best Original Kebab

Loughton Park, Milton Keynes
09/06/2018: Great tasting food ,plus you get extra bread for free and Kebab comes wrapped in foil inside container so keeping food warmer .I recon they are the best any where in MK ,and ignoring several other vans, for large orders you are best to phone as they are very busy.
27/04/2018: I've been meaning to try the food here for a while having lived in the area for a year. It seems that I've been missing out. Really lovely kebabs and some decent deals available. Will be back again soon

The Old Swan at Astwood

Newport Pagnell South, Milton Keynes
09/06/2018: a group of 7 had Sunday lunch and the overall experience from arrival and through the lunch as first class. Very friendly staff and a decent selection of food and ales made us relaxed before the food arrived and all of our choices were very...
07/06/2018: Fabulous pub, in a lovely quiet scenic location and the food, hospitality and service is first class. Tuesday - Thursday the Old Swans offers a 3 Course Special for £18 which is fantastic value alongside their specials board and normal menu. The quality of food...

Brasserie Blanc

Campbell Park, Milton Keynes, >100£
21/06/2018: This is the 2nd time we have been to this restaurant, the first time for my birthday and the 2nd time for a belated fathers day and wedding anniversary, to say I haven't been able to find fault for the 2nd time is just amazing, the staff couldn't be more attentive and the food well it is delicious, good portions and a nice range of menu options to choose from. They gave us a bottle of house processco to celebrate along with a candle in a cake for the celebrations too. we ordered starter main and dessert . Everything from start to finish was just perfect and as i said I couldn't find fault. The food is always delicious, cooked to perfection and just beautifully presented. We had the steak tartar, the chicken liver parafit and crab to start, with the chateau, steak and the duck for the main and a selection of desserts to finish, even though they had run out of the 1 dessert we all wanted they gave us other options they wouldn't usually offer. - will happily go back again for a 3rd visit, it works out approx £50 per head for 3 dishes and a drink or two each, our bill for the 4 of us came to nearly £200.
21/06/2018: Great food, service was excellent and choice of wines went well with the menu. Décor was brilliant and staff were attentive. Would recommend a definite visit for anyone in MK or visiting.

Akasaka

Wolverton, Milton Keynes
30/05/2018: Really nice restaurant. I love the sushi they have, as not many places around the area you can have good sushi unfortunately. Restaurant is cosy and service is always good. Quite busy on weekends so best to book in advance. Something to improve: The wine by glass options are not really very good. I wish there was a better white wine to pair your sushi with.
28/05/2018: I think it's only the fourth time I've been to a Japanese restaurant and I really enjoyed the food here. First time in a Japanese restaurant was in USA in 1976. They are now becoming more popular in the UK and this was definitely one of the best.

Clary's Bar & Grill

Campbell Park, Milton Keynes
06/06/2018: My husband and I enjoyed a lovely roast dinner - 1 beef and 1 turkey. Plenty of meat and veg and a huge Yorkshire pudding for only £7 each. We both had starters which were only £3 - the soup was really tasty. Our waiter...
01/06/2018: I suppose I should have expected a poor experience when there was no one other than our party in the restaurant at 7 on a Friday evening. The meal took ages to come out, and that is even after we preordered (it was a large...

Bell & Bear

Sherington, Milton Keynes, 30-45£
02/06/2018: We went for lunch today with our friends, the pub were very accommodating with a time change on our booking. We were seated straight away, there was our table of 4 and another table of 15. Our drinks were delivered promptly and orders taken for our food. We received our lovely presented starters on slate, chicken liver pate was delicious. Followed by our main courses 3 had the chicken in bacon sauce and the other had battered hake all of us really enjoyed our meals almost 4 clean plates. The pub has a friendly family run feeling vibe, staff were pleasant and friendly. We didn’t have room for deserts on this visit maybe next time. Thank you for a lovely lunch we will visit again for an evening meal soon.
27/05/2018: Just a fantastic place to eat and drink really. I’ve been here many times for a local beer, and for some incredible meals too. Jon and Sophie run the place really well, and the rest of the staff are excellent too. That being said there’s a far too friendly old man behind the bar, I think they let him work so he has something to do... ;)

Percys

Loughton Park, Milton Keynes, <20£
16/06/2018: Ordered Percy's at 3pm today and the chips were so oily and seems like they have been double fried that all you could taste was oil.
14/06/2018: A flat dog isn't a cut sausage. Resembles luncheon meat.

The Chester Arms

Sherington, Milton Keynes
19/06/2018: My auntie treated me to lunch at The Chester Arms last month and what a treat it was. As my auntie isn't very mobile, the disabled parking spaces a short walk from the front door were appreciated. The gentleman (can't remember if he was manager or owner or both) who greeted and served us was very friendly and welcoming and took the time to go over the menus with us. There are individual gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan 3 course menus (A4 pages) - including suitable wines too - as well as the usual all-rounder menu. We got quite distracted reading through them all. Food was freshly cooked to order. For starters we had the home made fish cakes - delicious - and mains were gammon and rack of ribs. I was warned that the ribs would be a Big challenge..and they were. Tender and cooked to perfection they were very tasty with my favourite sweet potato fries. Silly as it sounds, I know the puddings were equally lovely but my old memory has failed me on what we actually ate. That will teach me to get my reviews done sooner - or take notes or photo's.
19/06/2018: Our Nordic walking group has the occasional meal out. On this occasion the leader had checked that it was wheelchair accessible before she booked and again on the morning of the date in question (3rd May 2018). We arrived, unloaded my husband's power chair and approached the door. There is a step. I could see a door to the left which had a ramp so I went inside to ask if it could be opened. The response was that they could but there were then 2 steps down into the restaurant. I asked about a ramp for the front entrance but they didn't have one. I asked to speak with the manager and was told curtly "He's left." So did we, disappointed that we were not able to join our friends. We found a warm welcome at Ask Italian and enjoyed a lovely mean there instead. We will obviously not be visiting the Chester Arms again.

16/05/2018: What an amazing experience. I’d never been to an Indian Restaurant before and was recommended I visit here. Well I have never had such an amazing experience. We were escorted to our table by Abdul who was devoted to giving 100% to his customers.

10/05/2018: Have known about this place for years but went last nigh. What a great place food brilliant service great. This a place of learning for people going into the hospitality industry, so give some leeway as they are learning, it was a pleasure to eat. I have been in this industry for over 45 years and this was 1st class. Be prepared to wait as things cooked to order
02/05/2018: Absolutely amazing food and atmosphere. These are our future chefs and do an amazing job! Would absolutely go again.

The Grange

Loughton Park, Milton Keynes
20/06/2018: One of the best Indian restaurants I've been to! The food was delicious. Good portion sizes and full of flavour. Everything arrived in good time. The staff were kind enough to cater the food for the kids as well as catering for those with allergies in my family. The service was amazing. Good attention to detail and fantastic customer service. We were taken care of very well. Highly recommend.
20/06/2018: We have visited here for my friend's after stag-do meal! Pretty good service! Warm welcome but pretty average food! Not going to rate highly on the authenticity of the Indian food here but it's a nice restaurant to go and have few pints and try some food with friends and family! Would I go there again........maybe yes!

Kasbah

Olney, Milton Keynes
21/05/2018: Service was very good with friendly waiting staff. Food was okay, adequate but nothing special. Decor is unimpressive and tables and chairs a bit basic. Unfortunately what spoiled the experience was the acoustics - the lack of sound absorbent materials meant that noise was amplified, to the point that we could not easily chat to each other despite the restaurant being less than half full, and we chose to skip dessert and coffee as a consequence.
27/04/2018: Slightly off the beaten track as located down a passage-way off a side alley entrance, but parking nearby next to the Co-op & other local shops behind the main street. Kasbah offers a good menu of pizza, pasta and other dishes, all lovingly prepared by the genial owner. We've had evening meals here too in the past, all delicious. Great food, relaxing music, good service, sun streaming through the atrium roof on a chilly day ... what more could you want?
