Restaurant Tristan

Denne, Horsham
18/06/2018: Inwent there with my wife as a treat. We are doing michelin star restaurants from time to time and we went to Tristan. Interior is nice, staff cery knowledgeble and friendly. We went for 8 tasters woth matching wine and we were delighted to choose...
17/06/2018: Amazing food, attentive yet not fussy waiters, wonderful wine list- reviews saying the food was overpriced clearly don’t appreciate Michelin star quality. Honestly, if you are a lover of fine dining then this place will be right up your street.

Steyning Tea Rooms

Steyning, Horsham
17/06/2018: Thanks again. Great food, friendly and welcoming for a hungry cyclist! The rhubarb scones are simply divine
01/06/2018: What a quaint place! A hidden gem! Amazing tea room! a "not to be missed moment"! So worth the visit, we came with friends and had the delight of trying the huge Rhubarb Scone cream tea. The best with added great service.

Boars Head Pub

Billingshurst and Shipley, Horsham
17/06/2018: This pub is our local but has gone through a number of owners of the last few years so we stayed away, however the current owners have been in pace for sometime and well, we have been 3 times in 2 months. Their Sunday Roast meals are exceptional and their meals during the week are always tasty and everyone enjoys it. Not cheap but you don’t mind when the food is so lovely. The pub is beautiful in decoration, the service wonderful and I for one am overjoyed that our local pub is something to be so very proud of.
14/06/2018: Top lunch ! it was my Mothers Birthday so we treated her to lunch, great friendly service and super food.

Thirteen church street

Chantry, Horsham
19/06/2018: I have eaten here a few times now and the food has always been excellent. They have a varied menu with just enough on, you know its fresh, and a great Gin menu.
01/06/2018: What a treat to stumble across this little gem in a cute little English town. The food is genuinely authentic (the chef is Thai) and, if you ask, they'd dial up the spice level to Bangkok standards. Yum! Pad thai is not on the menu, but they did it for us and oh my gods of all things delicious. We're visitors from the Far East so we are used to the real deal, and Thirteen Church Street is the real deal.

The Greets Inn

Itchingfield, Slinfold and Warnham, Horsham
19/06/2018: Another lovely meal. Food and service was excellent. We have been before for dinner as well. Even though they were busy we didn't have to wait , staff were helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
18/06/2018: Three of us had Sunday dinner and each chose a different roast. Each plate arrived and on first impressions looked good as the large yorkshire pudding was covering what was underneath - 3 small roast potatoes and 2 just 2 slices of meat each. This is the first time I have ever received just 2 slices of meat one of which was inedible as it was mostly fat. All of us experienced the same. My daughter had the smallest slice of pork which she left as it was mostly fat. Ok perhaps the vegetables would make up for it - no! A dish arrived with what can only be described as enough for two people at a push! Certainly not enough for three adults. Hard broccoli which I and my daughter left. The only thing ok were the carrots. We have had Sunday roast in other pubs up and down the country and this has got to be the worst I have ever had. After leaving half of it uneaten I felt just as hungry when I left than I had arriving. Sunday roast vegetables should be cooked properly with proper portions given out. And the meat, would you put 2 slices of meat on a plate for the adults in your family I don't think so. Absolutely overpriced for what you get. A Fathers day dinner ruined. Needless to say I would never go back!

The Pass

Nuthurst, Horsham
03/06/2018: We have been to The Pass several times now, being lucky enough to have it within walking distance. The food was creative and unique. I love the way each dish is described by the waiters.
28/05/2018: Four of us wen to The Pass to celebrate our birthdays. They provided three nibbles to start with then a selection of bread before the tasting menu started. There were some testers which were not to my liking as I do not like smoked meats or fish but my brother in law received them enthusiastically. Personally I think the eight courses with bread and nibbles was very filling and a great experience. Thank you to all the chefs.

The Blue Ship

Rudgwick, Horsham, <20£
13/06/2018: I had forgotten how good the food ( and beer, although limited choice ) is.
08/06/2018: My family and I enjoyed a delicious meal and friendly service at the Blue Ship. We visited for the first time and it will not be the last time. I have never tasted such delicious steak pie! The burgers were delicious, too. I would recommend the Blue Ship to anyone – a real hidden gem.

Billy's On The Road

Billingshurst and Shipley, Horsham, <20£
14/06/2018: Most former little chiefs are dead, nasty coffee places or otherwise abandoned. This place shows what could have been done. Great food, not complicated but done really well. Breakfast was so good that I went back for lunch!
06/06/2018: What a wonderful place! Perfect in every way. The best toasted sandwich I have ever had! Highly recommend.

Amberley Village Tea Rooms

Chantry, Horsham
21/06/2018: Visited the tea rooms today with a group of 18, looking forward to their renowned scones. Very disappointing for all in group, scones were dry and tasteless - certainly didn’t taste fresh and light. It also appeared that someone had forgotten to put cheese in the cheese scones. Staff were advised that all were unhappy, but no offer to replace.
21/06/2018: Visited on the 21st June and ordered two cream teas.

The Chequers Inn

Itchingfield, Slinfold and Warnham, Horsham
14/06/2018: First time for us after hearing good results from friends. Lovely place with low ceilings and warm atmosphere. Red wine drinkers won't be disappointed as good selection and of good quality, recommend the Malbec. Staff welcoming and friendly and considering they were under staffed, we were served quite promptly and all three courses were excellent. It would appear not just from our table but adjoining ones that d crispy duck is a favourite. I don't like duck so had the lamb which was cooked to perfection. What we liked also were the portions they were just enough which made a pleasant change. Although felt that cheese platter could have been a tad smaller- it was nonetheless delicious. It really is worth visiting and if it's a busy time, please keep in mind that staff work very hard to meet your requirements and would appreciate positive feedback - like anything in life- some days things just don't go as smoothly but don't be put off- well worth a try.
06/06/2018: With the natural front of house talent of Kate Neal and the very talented expertise of Tim Neal in the kitchen , both of whom were the original owners , members of my Family always came away from a meal at The Chequers saying that it was one of the very few places , locally , that consistently provided excellent / memorable / tasty food , together with seamless overall service , all at a fair price .

The White Lion Inn

Chanctonbury, Horsham
13/06/2018: Quirky pub in village location, good beers and wines, great food imaginatively presented, fabulous ambience. So pleased its my local.
12/06/2018: I am quite local & sadly have not been to this pub since it changed hands or changed the type of food they serve. However my loss & will not make this mistake again we had a lovely lunch. Good friendly service & great food. We had crab & prawn served with small salad f fries & a dipping sauce another a Cesar salad with chicken & avocado. We all really enjoyed the food & would recommend , will certainly go back as there were many things I like on

The George and Dragon

Chantry, Horsham
21/06/2018: We love this pub. Although it's at least an hour's round trip, we've been coming here for dinner for many years, and our Canadian visitors loved it (especially the historiacal interest)! The menu is excellent (although I'd prefer to see some pasta), and our rapport with the staff is relaxed and friendly. We have introduced many friends to this lovely, traditional pub, and I'm sure there will be more to come! Highly recommemded.
21/06/2018: Clearly a popular place so best to book even for a Wednesday lunchtime. Lovely pub inside and an excellent wooden terrace and lower gardens. Food choice was extensive including some daily specials. Our Lamb Lasagne, Plaice, sausage trio, ribs, spicy chicken were al well proportioned and cooked perfectly. The service was delightful and very helpful. Dogs are welcome inside and out. Definitely coming back.

The Bridge Inn

Chantry, Horsham
20/06/2018: Came here to eat the other day and was surprised by the food, I was expecting a typical country pub with basic menu but tried the marinated chicken salad and it was amazing! very different! my friend had the burger and was very pleased. Service was spot on too!
17/06/2018: Ate there yesterday. I’m coeliac , there is what seems a good gluten free menu and the pub is obviously trying, but doesn’t understand what gf is. Items on gluten free menu , like chips, are cooked in the same fryer as bread crumbed items etc. Staff told me that the high temperature ‘ kills’ the gluten but this is untrue. Gluten can’t be killed, it isn’t a bacteria. It’s a protein in certain grain in the structure of the food. Coeliac UK confirm that the high temperature does not stop cross contamination. So many items on the gf menu will be a risk to Coeliacs.

The Green Man Inn and Restaurant

Cowfold, Shermanbury and West Grinstead, Horsham
18/06/2018: This is my favourite local restaurant. The food is excellent, staff very friendly and there is a great atmosphere. Steaks are fantastic.
13/05/2018: Great food and wonderful presentation. The soft-shell crab tempura was delicious, as was my partner's halloumi, and their curry.

Filippo's Italian Pizzeria Restaurant

Denne, Horsham, 20-30£
09/06/2018: Booked last minute and more than happy to add us on. Greeted with classic Italian warmth and chef straight out to say hello and offer us hospitality and smiles. It was date night and these days it's hard to find a restaurant you leave having not moaned about at least one thing in and how you hate spending lots of money out to be disappointed but filippos was faultless! All staff so attentive, food beautiful and authentic, our plates were clean at end of three course. Highly recommend sharing the beautiful gelato at end of meal too. Thank you all we have now found our little gem to bring the kids back to or just have another chilled evening with other half. X
17/05/2018: Visited for late lunch, mid week when very quiet and possibly seemed like they were looking to close shortly. But made very welcome with genuine hospitality. Good table, good menu , good service.
