The Pass

Nuthurst, Horsham
03/11/2018: Did didn’t realise there was a separate review area for the pass so please see my review of the hotel. The 6 course tasting lunch was amazing and to be honest there was nothing which could be improved upon. Just loved how you were “in” the kitchen and the chefs came and presented each course and explained the techniques of each dish. Please do not change anything you are doing it was 200% perfect
01/11/2018: The food at The Pass is terrific. But the service is just as big a part of the experience. As each course is brought to your table it is described by a member of the kitchen team. With an open kitchen, you feel more connected to the preparation of your food. It's amazing to see the number of people involved in creating each dish. It also explains the hefty cost!

Restaurant Tristan

Denne, Horsham
29/10/2018: Top Quality Michelin restaurant and not too expensive. Decor is superb following the fire refurbishment, seating comfortable, and the staff go out of their way to make your visit memorable. Wine list superb and the coffee and treats are exemplary
28/10/2018: I had high expectations from this restaurant given it's Michelin star but it was disappointing in contrast to other restaurants which share the same accolade. The tasting menu featured numerous unbalanced dishes which were often oversmoked. The wine pairings were of a mixed quality and certainly not worth the price paid. I am aware that this restaurant recently maintained its star, and so must be able to deliver but it can certainly be said that it needs to improve it's consistency.

Steyning, Horsham
22/10/2018: Just arriving in Steyning to visit friends, they brought us here for lunch. no wonder What a marvelous way to introduce us to a perfect tea room! My husband had soup, which he pronounced wonderful. I had tea and apricot scone and creme. It was wonderful. No wonder this small but great tea room as such great reviews.

30/10/2018: The food is always great, very very busy at the weekends so sometimes you do have to wait but its worth it. Prices are very reasonable. My favorite place for a breakfast!

Amberley Village Tea Rooms

Chantry, Horsham
28/10/2018: Popped in on a very rainy afternoon - to be welcomed by friendly staff, delicious homemade food and drinks. Love the vintage decorations, A real treat.
28/10/2018: A lovely quaint and cosy little spot with a warm welcome and a lovely log burner on a chilly morning. The coffee was great as was the cheese scone - as big as my hand! - which was delicious. Reasonably priced too, will certainly come back.

The White Lion Inn

Chanctonbury, Horsham
27/10/2018: An excellent traditional, bustling, pub, with its own atmosphere.
06/10/2018: This pub is a rarity nowadays, as it hasn’t been spoilt by background music. You can come here and enjoy your food and drinks without having your senses assaulted by somebody else’s music. Well done White Lion!

The Lamb Inn Rusper

Rusper and Colgate, Horsham, 20-30£
06/11/2018: We all had a great meal. The veggie sausages were great. Service was very friendly. Definitely would return.
03/11/2018: We called in here for lunch. A lovely fire was going and we were served quickly by the efficient trendy barmaid. We all ordered their ploughman’s lunches and they were delicious. Decent size and with a chunk of fresh baguette bread. It is a little pricey but worth it!

Boars Head Pub

Billingshurst and Shipley, Horsham
10/11/2018: We had the pleasure of eating twice at the Boar's Head this week. Once at lunch time and once at dinner time. On both occasions the reception and service were exceptional. The food was amazing and of a very high standard. For lunch the fish cakes were lovely. For dinner there were four of us eating and we were all very impressed with our meals, sea bass, steak and kidney pie, game pie and Cajun chicken - all very yummy! And the desserts - what a choice! Thanks to all the staff for a wonderful time and for all the other readers please ignore the negative reviews, go and judge for yourself!
07/11/2018: excellent, went with a mate to celebrate my 60th birthday, was not disappointed,it is highly recommended. food is top draw a genuine dining experience

The Greets Inn

Itchingfield, Slinfold and Warnham, Horsham
11/11/2018: Went today for a Sunday lunch. The staff were very friendly and there was a lovely fire. Ordered Sunday lunch. Was disappointing for the price. The roast potatoes were more like boiled potatoes and took over the plate; the Yorkshire pudding was huge but really floury; and the beef was over cooked and way too thickly sliced with a little too much fat on it. . The veg were really nice and had a nice bite to them but sadly not very many were offered. Paid £45 for once course for two people with couple a drinks. Definitely be trying somewhere else next time....
09/11/2018: Not been to this country pub for some years. Tucked away in Warnham this does an excellent Sunday lunch menu with a three course special or a la carte if wanted. A good choice of beers wines and ciders to please most palates. Service and food great. Please note there is a car park and small garden to the rear of the pub and there is a side door in the eventuality that a wheelchair is needed for any visitor.

The Chequers Inn

Itchingfield, Slinfold and Warnham, Horsham
02/11/2018: Rarely in the annals of eating out have I had such an underwhelming experience although I cannot comment on the food for the reason below; BEWARE! Car park is on a dangerous bend with no pre-warning of your up-coming destination; I went in at 1.15 to ask if we could have something to eat; “well the chefs are cooking right now so it will be a 45 minute wait” Really, the chefs are cooking – how strange! This was from an older staff member who was obviously out of his depth, had no greeting skills and was flustered beyond his ability to cope; a younger member of the team tried to step in and be welcoming but was shut up by the older one; (may I suggest you leave and develop your obvious skill somewhere else?) So basically, I was in-and-out in around 90 seconds still hungry; Won’t return in a hurry and would suggest others give this a miss until they learn basic hospitality skills
19/10/2018: We have been eating at this restuarant for about 20 years and apart from a few years when it was a bit dodgy, we have always had great food here. My favourite is the duck confit. Also the venison is fantastic when in season.

Thirteen church street

Chantry, Horsham
10/11/2018: My daughter and I went to Thirteen for lunch a couple of weeks ago. The food was amazing. The waitress was really helpful and we were really impressed with the fact that there was a separate menu showing which dishes contained nuts, as my daughter has a nut allergy. If only more restaurants would do the same. Thank you.
06/11/2018: We have eaten at 13 Church Street many times and it never disappoints. The food is consistently stunning and the service and atmosphere excellent. Great wine list.

Queen's Room at Amberley Castle

Chantry, Horsham
15/10/2018: Amberley Castle is a beautiful building in lovely grounds. We had the Seasonal Lunch and the food was really exceptional, full of flavour and freshness. The menu was limited so anyone with dietary problems does need to let them know but I'm sure they could deal with anything. Lovely place, great food, fair prices, what more could you ask.
02/10/2018: We are more impressed with the service than the food. The service was very warm, calm and subtle. Everything was just the right time and amount of attention.
