Nazar

Castle, Hastings
12/11/2018: Nice, warm, friendly cafe on the seafront. Some very nice Turkish (and other) decor. Excellent mint tea (according to my daughter). And a cup of real Turkish coffee that made me think I was back in Istanbul. Staff all friendly and helpful. Not expensive.
10/11/2018: 19 of us went here for a birthday meal. Food was excellent, freshly cooked and delicious. Service was excellent and staff very nice. Thanks to Tuba for great service. Great atmosphere

Maggie's

Old Hastings, Hastings, 20-30£
09/11/2018: The best fish and chips I have ever had! Could not believe the size of the fish, 2 big pieces of fish on my plate. Cooked fresh to order and served by a very friendly, helpful waitress.
05/11/2018: Maggie has retired, but her granddaughter is turning out fantastic fish and chips. Lightly battered Haddock with her home made tarter sauce is delicious. A reservation is probably necessary since there are about a dozen tables. Fantastic view of the English Channel while you savoy her dishes.

Taylor's

Castle, Hastings
06/11/2018: Went to Hastings for the day while down south visiting family. While out we decided last minute to have a bite to eat and did the classic let’s all argue where to go as no one had been anywhere before.
03/11/2018: Looking for a traditional seafood restaurant and found this gem after walking past a few grotty chip shops that we certainly didn’t fancy.

Cafe Maroc

Old Hastings, Hastings
04/11/2018: Delicious food and friendly staff. Only a few tables so you must book before you go. Try the soup - it's amazing!
28/09/2018: Went to the Café Maroc for the first time in a while. The restaurant is small but very popular and deservedly so. Food was unpretentious but very good with a real flavour of North Africa. Tagines were superb and the other dishes we had matched them. There is no liquor license so drinks are "bring your own" with a small corkage fee. Service was very friendly and helpful, prices are very reasonable. Overall an excellent experience.

Boulevard Bookshop and Thai Cafe

Old Hastings, Hastings
09/10/2018: We found this restaurant through a recommendation through the hotel we were staying in and were not disappointed. The restaurant is very quirky and cosy and the food was really delicious and flavoursome and some of the nicest Thai food we have had. It’s also good value , would definitely recommend giving it a try .
29/09/2018: Lovely quirky restaurant in a book shop. We visit at least once when we go to Hastings. Such fun looking at the books whilst waiting for the delicious food. Love the choices Mild, medium or hot - if you choose hot the next choice is English hot or Thai hot! Also unlicensed so you can take your own choice of beer or wine.

Alpha Cafe

Castle, Hastings
03/10/2018: The cafe is right beside St Leonards Warrior Square railway station, in fact, on the station forecourt. It's larger inside than you'd imagine and is a fairly typical 'greasy spoon' cafe. The staff are very friendly and the service was good. Portion control was excellent and the food was good, hot, and tasty. It also came quickly.
04/09/2018: Great place to eat just before we get in the train and friendly too

Half Man! Half Burger!

Central St Leonards, Hastings
11/11/2018: A very tasty vegan burger but burger and chips is fast food and at £22 for two is to expensive chips are £3 per potion oh my! . The vegan cheese fries would have made it £25. without drinks . Maybe a treat again next year .. rather walk to Bella Vista
09/11/2018: Ate here with work colleagues and it was good, but I've eaten better burgers. Mine was really juicy and I enjoyed it but the gluten free brownie and ice cream was divine! The service was very slow and I felt a bit shoe horned in as the venue is really small.
