Villa Romana

Fareham East, Fareham
07/06/2018: Went to Villa Romano for our 15th wedding anniversary. The service was exceptional and the food was fabulous! We had traditional Italian rice balls and a crab dish for our starters ... superb! Mains were duck breast and lamb shoulder ... both delicious and the lamb shoulder was huge, so much so I couldn't eat it all! I definitely recommend Villa Romano. Prices are well within what I would expect to pay for the quick of the food and service.
05/06/2018: We booked in for my son's birthday on the Friday night. We were greeted warmly and seated immediately. It was clear the menu is flexible - meaning, you look at it, get an idea, if you like the item as described, order it. You won't be disappointed. However, if you struggle or would like changes, just ask. They are flexible and creative. Most importantly, the food is DELICIOUS! Not one bad item. They made a fuss of us and we so very much enjoyed our experience. In fact, we enjoyed it so much, we decided to celebrate a second night with 8 of us. They squeezed us in. We were not rushed. They listened to us, they met our needs. Again, not a bad meal or item was served. Everyone has such a great time. WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE. Can't wait to go back to Fareham!!!! Oh, and incredible value for the quality of the food and size of the portions. Go hungry. Go to sit and relax and enjoy each other. Perfect venue.

Nook And Cranny

Warsash, Fareham
21/06/2018: We've been to the Nook several times now for Sunday lunch. Service is excellent - attentive and friendly. Portions are perfect and the beef particularly tasty and tender. Really reasonably priced for the quality of food you get. Currently £24 for three very high quality courses. Nice wines on offer too. Is becoming a regular 'go to' place on a Sunday and looking forward to trying an evening meal too. It's quite a small place so ambience is cosy and booking recommended.
19/06/2018: Visited The Nook on Fathers Day as a treat for my husband, It was recommended by someone I know as a nice place to eat. Arrived 10 mins early for our booking, we weren't expecting our table to be ready, it was chaotic in there, with screaming kids and we were asked to go sit outside and they would fetch up when our table was ready, after being left hanging outside in the breezy weather, eventually at 3.20 someone came out for us, (Table was booked for 3pm) . I ordered the Cod and Prawn Fishcake starter which was very disappointing, it had been deep dried so fairly greasy and was mushy, all I could taste was the potato, and no taste of fish My husband said his Pate starter was lovely. Both our main courses were nice,I declined a desert but my husband ordered the cheesecake with coconut Ice cream. We waited at least 20 mins for the desert to arrive and while waiting the waitress tried to give us our bill until we explained we hadn't had desert, she did the same thing to the table next to us too. When desert did finally arrive it came with vanilla ice cream and not coconut, when challenged they first said, oh we must of run out, then they tried to say that it was just a mild coconut flavouring in the ice cream, which was rubbish as it tasted of vanilla. When the bill arrived we were charged for a full bottle of wine rather than the Carafe I ordered, they adjusted our bill accordingly. Overall it was expensive for what it was ( £3.50 for half a lager"!) The food overall was nice but nothing to write home about , the service however was atrocious, hence we left no tip which we have never done before anywhere we've been. its not somewhere we would put ourselves out to go back to or recommend to friends either. Overall it was disappointing.

Truffles French Restaurant

Fareham East, Fareham, 20-30£
08/06/2018: Possibly one of the best restaurants we have ever been to. The food was unbelievable and all arrived at the same time for our guests. We were offered wines to compliment each course and they certainly did the job. Super attentive staff and phenomenal chef....
05/06/2018: As new residents in the area we were keen to find somewhere good to take visitors to. Truffles certainly fitted the bill. The food was beautifully prepared, I would personally recommend the lamb dish with creamed cauliflower and smoked potatoes, it was sublime. However and...

The Miners Arms

Fareham North, Fareham
19/06/2018: Popped in on Sunday (Fathers Day) to meet a friend, ended up having a roast beef Sunday lunch with Spotted Dick for desert and left a very bloated but happy man! Food was a delight! Staff very friendly and the locals were too! Would recommend this place in a heart beat and will return soon! Thank you.
17/06/2018: Menu is great here but they also have a brilliant specials board. Food was delicious and we all enjoyed it. Good choice of ales. We ate in the garden which was lovely. Service was good. Will definitely be back again soon.

Lauros Brasserie

Fareham East, Fareham
21/06/2018: Celebrated my parents 59th wedding anniversary here. Lovely food, presented nicely (six types of veg in addition to potatoes!)
12/06/2018: We don't know this area at all but were staying in an apartment near the High Street for a couple of nights on business - so based on the TripAdvisor reviews, and on the Lauro's website we booked for dinner. This will be a short review as I have nothing negative to say at all. I can just confirm that ambiance, service, quality of food preparation and presentation are all excellent and of an extremely high standard deserving of Lauro's high TripAdvisor ranking. If we lived closer we would certainly return again.

18/06/2018: Stayed in Farnham and looked on Trip Advisor for a nice restaurant and reviewers weren't wrong. It really is a great restaurant to go for a meal. We had tapas for starters which were very good.So much choice of fish besides all the other meats...
10/06/2018: Years ago we visited antonios for a dinner and had lovely food, for some reason it's taken us years to come back! Last night we went in for dinner and ended up ordering tapas, wow, great selection of dishes and every one of them tasted...

Salt Cafe

Portchester East, Fareham
19/06/2018: Enjoyed Salt Cafe’s take on a BLT and a generous portion of homemade cake - both absolutely delicious. On a sunny day, with the tide in, this is the perfect place for lunch either preceded or followed by a walk along the coast, perhaps to Portchester Castle. Very friendly and efficient service too.
18/06/2018: Went to Salt Café today for lunch / brunch, and what a fantastic place it is, the sun was shining with lovely views. Food was great, staff were friendly & helpful, look forward to returning soon.

Cackleberrys

Fareham East, Fareham, <20£
21/06/2018: I will never get board going into this brasserie as there's always a great variety to choose from and if you like fish then the poached salmon and broccoli pie is yummy yum yum. Thank you Terri and the team. ♥️
14/06/2018: .. then you cannot go wrong with a visit here ... We visited for lunch today and from the extensive lunch menu decided on a sandwich each .. The bread was home made as is everything here. I had the boiled Ham my Husband the Roast Chicken, both were equally delicious and came with a lovely little salad .. As we were leaving we checked out there array of homemade savory pies, flans and cakes to give us an idea for next time .. yes we will return ..

21/06/2018: Believe now pub recently changed hands and we were told to prebook our lunch menu on line which in fact you cannot do via their website.
19/06/2018: The new owners are doing a great job. They make everybody welcome and dogs. The food is fantastic. A good choice of wines and beers. They have good crew who work for them. My wife and I frequent the place often. After a walk with the dog.

The Little Bay

Warsash, Fareham
22/05/2018: Had a great dinner here - a small but good menu and very busy place - best to book ahead.
21/04/2018: There’s a gap in the market in Warsash for a good restaurant, as the pubs are ghastly, but sadly this doesn’t fill that gap. The staff are nice enough but the menu is a little boring. Our food was lukewarm and lacked a certain something - fresh herbs, seasoning etc. The decor is VERY dark and although it can’t be helped on a warm day the door was wedged open, which meant with all the traffic going past we could hardly hear what the other person was saying!! It lacks identity & quite frankly I think they’d make more money serving GOOD pizzas & pasta as the demand would be higher and young people could go with their friends. As it is, it needs to be raised up too many notches to take it up to where it needs to be. Reading the other reviews I would imagine it’s ok for breakfast/brunch but I certainly wouldn’t go back for dinner.

The Wheatsheaf

Titchfield, Fareham
19/06/2018: An extensive and interesting menu with food beautifully cooked and presented. The setting is simple but comfortable, the service is friendly and not over-attentive. The Wheatsheaf is a good example of how a village pub can combine both pub and restaurant elements to make for...
03/06/2018: Visited The Wheatsheaf today with our walking group ( 21 of us). I have been here several times before, and today was as always, excellent. Food is delicious and reasonably priced. Service is faultless; always happy to accommodate the children in the group. Highly recommend.

Franco & Paolo Ristorante

Locks Heath, Fareham
16/01/2018: Really nice little restaurant. Great decor, really good food at reasonable rates. Only thing we found is drinks are really expensive. Around 2.50 for a small glass of Coke/Lemonade.
10/01/2018: We had a great meal - the food was delicious. The restaurant was packed with seemingly lots of regulars. The staff are really friendly and welcoming. Happy to chat about the food and obviously proud of what they do.

Avenue 141 Restaurant

Fareham South, Fareham
13/06/2018: A brilliant ‘WW2, themed evening hosted by 3rd year student Alex. From the ‘welcome cocktail’ served in an old fashioned china teapot, to the ration inspired petit fours, the attention to detail for this evening was fantastic. Amazing food and service, coupled with sandbags, air raid sirens and a war time ‘singalong’ made this evening truly memorable. Well done to everyone involved.
06/06/2018: An enjoyable lunch, food was good with slight hiccups. The crab starter to me was not very crab flavoured. Well presented. The fish main course was full of vegetables, sadly the fish was no bigger than a sprat. Cheese board was really good.
