Topo Gigio

Auriol, Epsom and Ewell, 45-60£
19/08/2018: Been here more times then I can think, good size portions, very friendly staff, can always adjust meals to suit nice and clean, our families number one Italian restaurant to go to, very reasonably priced Thank you
07/08/2018: My wife is Italian, and in my opinion Italian people have an arrogance around food, they are overly critical. My wife and her family love Tipo Grigio. Outstanding Italian Food. Properly authentic, rustic feel, maximum flavour. I am going to say that Tipo Gigio is the best Italian restaurant in a very long way. Propert Mamma and Pappa style. These restaurants are dying out.......Tipo Gigio isnt. Packed even mid week, says alot

Surrey Palace

Auriol, Epsom and Ewell
07/08/2018: What can I say, I have alot of Indian food and live in Ewell. Surrey Palace is the King of Curry locally, probably for some distance. Its quite expensive but you can see why in the food, decor and ambience. Just the best local Indian. Go in and see for yourself
15/06/2018: Picked the Surrey Palace purely from the reviews on T/A as work brought us to Epsom for a few days. We ate early so can’t comment on service and food when they’re busy but our experience was great all round. Really enjoyed our meals and the wine was ok too.

La Familia

Ewell, Epsom and Ewell
18/08/2018: I’m Spaniard, so believe me, I know what I’m talking about. The restaurant is nice but the food...“Bravas” with spaghetti tomato sauce with some chili? Seriously? If you try a real bravas sauce you will weeping with emotion, I don’t even think that the potatoes were fresh, tasted like frozen the same as the “calamares”. The ali-oli sauce wasn’t even home made, probably from ASDA I saw some “tapas” and main dishes at the menu that I have never hear about it before (paella with chorizo, Crispy maize cubes infused with fresh herbs served with aioli dip...) in this case Jamie Olivier’ creativity doesn’t help. According with the most of the reviews looks like the people really liked, well, you might like it but please don’t think that this is a typical Spanish flavor; call it “Spanish restaurant” and using all the Spanish flags around the menu should be a case of felony.
03/08/2018: I have visited here three times during the last 18 months and have never been disappointed. The food is cooked by an Italian family so it's the real deal. A lovely venue for a romantic evening out - will definitely continue to use as often as funds permit!

Ewell Court Tearoom

Ewell Court, Epsom and Ewell
07/08/2018: Its a hidden, local cafepacked on sunny days. Food quality is good, nice staff. Youd have to know it was there, hard to find. Mainly people from Ewell in there. Limited tables so they probably dont want to be too busy
04/08/2018: I’ve visited the tearoom a lot over the past year. I love the food on offer there. I have tried the jacket potatoes and the sandwiches on offer. I recommend visiting this place if you are in the area walking around or exploring the library. Such good food. The range of food is cheap and easy to eat. Just be careful when trying to find the place however. Ask for directions from the library staff or look up directions before setting out.

All Things Nice

Ewell, Epsom and Ewell
12/07/2018: All Things Nice is a lovely cafe in the village of Ewell with nice staff and a friendly atmosphere. However, I found it to be very over-priced - I paid £7.10 for a can of drink and a panini. In the Costa down the road it costs £4.95 for a pot of tea, a panini and a bag of crisps.
07/07/2018: I disagree with the person who wrote All Things Nice is dirty and needs more waitresses . All Things Nice is exactly that ! It is a small cafe offering excellent coffee, and food , delightful surroundings and is run by a small number of very hard working , lovely , friendly people.

The Old Moat Garden Centre

Stamford, Epsom and Ewell
29/08/2018: We’ve recently been going to The Old Moat for coffee and cake with friends. My boys love going there. The garden centre has had a make over and it is under new management. Every time we go we see even more improvements. The cakes are delicious, the service is friendly and welcoming. What I love about this place is that it’s not trying to be more than what it is. Food is simple, fresh and nicely presented. Thank you and see you again soon!
06/08/2018: We often stop here on a Sunday, it's a great place to either have lunch, coffee or afternoon tea. Prices are very good and the staff very helpful and friendly. Food very good.

Blacks Burgers

Town, Epsom and Ewell
14/08/2018: I went to blacks burger this evening and I must say my whole family including myself thought the service was incredible! Our waitress was called Anna, and I must say being greeted with a smile started off the meal amazingly. Through the meal Anna was attentive and ensured our meal went smoothly. The food was cooked to perfection and went down a treat! We will be returning as a whole and on seperate occasions. Many thanks to Anna and the whole staff for an amazing meal.
12/08/2018: We wandered past this place a few times whilst staying at the travel lodge opposite and on our final evening we decided to give it a try.

We haven't eaten in there for a while, but always enjoyed our meals. last night was the best we have ever had. Perfectly cooked, very tasty and a very reasonable price. I highly recommend the excelent value of the selection of starter plates. The belly pork and Whitebait was absolutely excellent. Many thanks to the chef. Table service spot on, See you soon.

The Rifleman Pub

Town, Epsom and Ewell
05/05/2018: This pub is amazing, everything about it is beautiful, the food is delicious and freshly made from the landlord himself the pints and drinks are reasonably priced and the garden is very nice. the pub is always freshly cleaned and It is just the best pub.
27/04/2018: I do like this pub. I don't think it presents itself as a gastro pub, which in and by itself is a good thing. (haven't yet been to a gastro pub in London or Surrey worth recommending - highly over priced for mediocre food!) The burgers we had were delicious! It's too bad they are mean with very small portion of chips. While the beer selection is great, the high prices for the beer was more on the London basis than Epsom. If they could trim those high beer prices, I could become a regular!

Ye olde kings head

Town, Epsom and Ewell
16/03/2018: We went here recently on Mothers Day - the roast dinners are delicious! The portion sizes are good too especially for the price. The pub itself had a very good vibe/atmosphere with what seemed to be mainly locals (which is usually a good sign). The waiting staff are so lovely and personable - felt like we were old friends of theirs! Karen (I think was her name) was especially friendly.
18/02/2018: We were a party of 7 ( with 3 kids) and had a wonderful Sunday afternoon at this pub! The service was brilliant and the food was delicious!! It’s a warm, friendly and proper pub! We will be returning! :)

Ask Italian

Town, Epsom and Ewell, 20-30£
26/08/2018: We came here for dinner service, the food was good and the service was ok. But then, when we had just finished eating our food, loads of people walked in. By this time we had asked for the dessert menu. So we sat there watching the chefs cook and the waiters and waitresses go around.
19/08/2018: Visited this place on a very busy night in a party of 11 friends. The service was polite but seriously let down by a lack of staff. Starters took over an hour to arrive and mains even later. However, the waitress was aware and bought over free olives with lots of apologies!

Bill's Restaurant

Town, Epsom and Ewell
14/08/2018: I first encountered Bills in Brighton years ago and loved the innovative brunch menu, home grown style presentation and quality ingredients. In fact I'd plan my visits around a trip to Bill's I liked it so much. I was delighted when a Bill's opened locally and naturally have been there a few times since. But times have moved on and the once innovative brunch menu is now uninspiring, portions small or ill considered (for instance a stingy scattering of fruit with pancakes vs excessive amounts of ham with eggs Benedict and the price high for two eggs, a muffin - presentation overall unappetising), to the point that Bill's is no longer a destination for me. All that said, the staff are always very pleasant and accommodating.
11/08/2018: Very warm welcome as soon as we arrived. There were 9 of us and 7 were Italians who likes their food. Not a bother here. Brilliant place to have a leisurely dinner. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and really friendly. We had the best burgers and my Italian family raved about them and the sweet potatoes fries , don’t exist back home. Dessseert was sublime, chocolate brownie and the mini donoughts. By the way, they make the best cocktail, i think it’s called English summer , gin, eldelflower cordial, apple juice....yum! If you ever go to Epsom, btw a lovely town, go and give Bills a go, thoroughly recommended .

Tamarind Spice

West Ewell, Epsom and Ewell
07/08/2018: Its a lovely Indian restaurant, nice staff, nothing too out there on the menu, they just get the contemporary Indian to a fine art. Not the very best, but v good
04/08/2018: Just moved to area and decided on a takeaway tonight. Nearly went there the night before but there was a takeaway opposite that looked really busy but decided not to bother. However tonight tried the Tamarind. Immediately greeted by East Europeans who showed no interest. Told them I'm knew here ( the area ) and they cared not. Ordered a takeaway and as it was a Lamb tikka Bhuna that was flagged up as medium hot. I asked that it was quiet spicy. Nan bread. Cauliflower bhaji. Sag aloo. In the meantime the man waiting for his informed me that he never normally came here ? Still no Indian people were spotted. Got the meal and walked under 2 mins home to cold Lamb ? That was in no way mildly spicy. The rest tasted all the same ? The bread was ok. I want and Indian when I go to and Indian. Shocking for a 1st visit.

Luna Coffee House

West Ewell, Epsom and Ewell
07/08/2018: Weve all eaten in your local cafe, or gresy spoon. The first day we moved to Ewell, we were looking for a cafe whilst we were waiting for the keys. We stumbled accross Cafe Luna, what a find. So much more that a cafe. You can have a fried breakfast, but its good quality bacon, fresh bread, proper local farm sausages, just excellent quality. However the biggest surpsise is what else is on the menu. My favourite is the Mexican Burrito, The Spaghetti Bolognaise is a master piece (My wife is Italian and loves it) a specials board. They are even catering for my childrens chrisening. Lovely staff.
12/05/2018: If you're hungry and want to take your family out somewhere on the other side of London here is a suggestion .
