Rose and Crown

Downland, East Hampshire
13/04/2019: Evening out with another couple. Lovely cosy, country pub interior and busy enough to create an atmosphere without being too busy. The baked prawns starter was perfect and the Steak & Ale pie was probably the single best restaurant pie I’ve ever had. The only disappointing thing about the meal was that I was too full to have a pudding - I’m sure the sticky toffee would have been of the same standard as the other dishes (and the wine). All of us agreed we’d be going back; this place is too nice to not return.
11/04/2019: First Visit to the Rose and Crown. Quite small inside so advise to always book table in advance. The staff friendly and helpful the selection of food and quality very good indeed, would definitely return to eat there again price wise not to bad at all quite reasonable. We'll worth a revisit.

Petersfield St Peters, East Hampshire
14/04/2019: Lovely food. Especially our starters were delicious. Mains were pretty good too but the dessert portion was too small.
07/04/2019: Visited today for lunch, heard it was good but the food and service far exceeded our expectations and after a horror run of food since our move to the UK, we were quite pleased. The lady who served us was super friendly and helpful. The food was authentic, tasty and fresh, you can tell it's all homemade. The baklava and desert was delicious as was the Turkish coffee.

The Yew Tree

Four Marks and Medstead, East Hampshire
05/04/2019: We stopped in for dinner on a whim and had a lovely evening, in fact we were shocked at how long we stayed. The menu is hugely varied which offered a great choice. We shared the prawns to start then followed with a beef stroganoff and sausage and mash. The veg provided was fresh and a nice selection, plus plenty for 2! I would definitely return and recommend for a good country pub.
17/03/2019: This is quite local to us, and we were out with Granny. Always has good reviews and we haven't visited for a long time, we were not disappointed. An extensive menu, everything we chose was delicious - we had the prawns to start (to share) which were very good and the salad was surprisingly tasty too. Granny had the Sunday roast, a childs' portion which was plenty. I would be tempted to order the smaller dish - you would need a decent appetite to eat a 'normal' portion as on other tables they looked large!

The Hawkley Inn

The Hangers and Forest, East Hampshire, >100£
18/04/2019: Having been recommended by a friend, & staying at Old Thorns for our anniversary & not very excited by their restaurants, we decided to try here.
15/04/2019: Met friends here for lunch... great selection of food and drinks. The food was delicious (we all had different dishes) and the staff were very pleasant and attentive. We will definitely return! You need to book!

Gurkha Durbar

Grayshott, East Hampshire, 20-30£
17/04/2019: A lovely restaurant serving traditional Nepalese food to a high standard, much more enjoyable than your run-of-the-mill curry house. And the service was fine, too.
14/04/2019: Members of our family and friends rate this Nepalese restaurant very highly. The food is varied and traditional, which unlike some Indian food as served in the UK does not leave one with any possible bloated after effects.

Ye Olde George Inn

East Meon, East Hampshire
18/04/2019: So we’ve just been to the pub... and I have never in my life had a dessert as sweet, sticky and sugary as this one. Hands down. The best brownie I have ever tasted and trust me I’ve tasted ALOT. Food was amazing and the staff were really friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. Loved it. 10/10 xxx ps good wine too
22/03/2019: Lovely olde characterful pub in beautiful village. The food was beautifully presented, especially the puddings !

Malabon Tandoori Restaurant

Petersfield Heath, East Hampshire, >100£
31/03/2019: We often order for home delivery which is our usual method of using the malabon but this time we decided to dine in. This must be the forth time going into the restaurant and each time it keeps on getting better. Faultless service, faultless food and a fantastic evening. Eating their food at home is fabulous but eating in is amazing. I would recommend 100%. We will be back.
30/03/2019: It's not often I have to say this but what a shocking experience. Items missing from order. Food was luke warm at best. When I called to tell them about our issues they said they cannot help and eventually hung up. Avoid.

Petersfield Heath, East Hampshire, >100£
15/03/2019: £60 a head for a 3 course meal and what a meal.
21/02/2019: Another amazing meal at JSW. We both had the 8 course tasting menu and it was superb. The truffle risotto was one one the best risotto's I've ever had. The rest of the courses were top notch. Sadly, the restaurant closes next month and this will be our last visit here. They will sadly be missed.

Applegarth Farm

Grayshott, East Hampshire, 30-45£
10/04/2019: Just back from a day of cooking at Applegarth’s Cookery School. We’ve had a fantastic day and have come home enthused and looking forward to attempting the recipes again at home. We packed in lots of lovely, straightforward recipes and have come home with lots of food. Steph was great and so good with my children. It was a wonderful family activity. The photos show only a couple of the things we made.
01/04/2019: We took my elderly mum for afternoon tea here on a busy Saturday afternoon, and were impressed. They were obviously busy and still clearing up from lunch when we arrived, but after only a short wait our table was ready for us. Again there was a bit of a delay with ordering, but apart from that, we have no complaints, there was an apology for the wait, and the service was very pleasant. The tea was very good, and it seemed to me that it was all home made , with the usual finger sandwiches , scones and cake selection. We felt that the quantity was just right, not too overwhelming. We have been to other places where the scones are huge and you just feel overfed! I would happily return, maybe sample the lunch menu next time - which looked good. Oh and the deli next door to the restaurant is definitely worth a browse- check out their website!

The Village Tea Rooms

Headley, East Hampshire
31/03/2019: Came for afternoon tea with my mother today and had a lovely time. I’m gluten free and the selection of sandwiches and cakes were delicious. The service is lovely and the staff are very friendly and attentive as always. Lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend it
31/03/2019: My daughter brought me to the Headley Tea Rooms for a Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea.

Hen and Chicken

Holybourne and Froyle, East Hampshire, <20£
18/04/2019: Had the Badger beer battered fish and chips for lunch, batter was great, good sized cod and the chips, oh boy the chips. Best I've ever had. Great friendly staff, will definitely be visiting again, cheers.
18/04/2019: We had heard from other friends who had been hear that the carvery was great value. We subsequently booked to go and four of us went on Thursday 18 April having booked a table for 12:30. The place is a really lovely looking building which appears to be having some building work being actioned at the rear. There is plenty of parking to the side and also out the front. We all loved the atmosphere and the staffs were all so excellent. Once we had all sat down and looked at the menu we all opted to have the lunchtime carvery and this was a great choice. There was an excellent selection of Beef, Turkey and Gammon with stuffing if you would like. The vast selection of Vegetables and the Yorkshire pudding etc you helped yourself to like most traditional carveries. The quality of food is absolutely perfect and such great value. I really can’t think of a single negative and would certainly eat here again. If you like a good old fashioned interior pub with a lovely oldie worldee feeling then this place will certainly suit you. We really loved it here and are so glad we came and had the carvery.

Gurkha Chautari Nepalese Restaurant

Bramshott and Liphook, East Hampshire
21/12/2018: Had meat samosa, coconut rice, popadoms, relish tray and Katmandu kukori (apologies if spelling wrong) which was previously on menu but not on current one, however they were happy to provide the same.
13/12/2018: We used them to cater for over 50 people at a Curry & Quiz night at our local village hall. Absolutely excellent food, well worth the money

Garthowen Garden Centre & Tree House Coffee Shop

Four Marks and Medstead, East Hampshire, 20-30£
15/04/2019: We have visited this coffee shop four times now on route back home. The quality of the food is second to none. Their food is homemade and delicious. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The sandwiches are made freshly with thick soft bread. They also do all day breakfasts!
13/04/2019: We had a fantastic breakfast here while camping at the watercress line with the kids. Most of our party had the pancakes and bacon. Excellent service and the food was impeccable. Lovely space in the restaurant, plenty to seat our family and another we were visiting with. The rest of the menu looked delicious and we will definitely return.

Bottega Dei Sapori

Alton Westbrooke, East Hampshire, >100£

05/03/2019: Very friendly and helpful staff.
