Rose and Crown

Downland, East Hampshire
11/12/2018: Lovely ambience, log fire, well stocked bar and a very mouth watering menu . Definitely recommend the Sunday roasts! 👍🍴🍺🍷
10/12/2018: Great pub and restaurant. Superb food and excellent staff, all very well managed which is always the key. This pub has a lovely original interior including a fire. A very good menu with decent options for vegetarians. All they’ve got to do is maintain what they’re doing and keep hold of the chef! It’s a regular for us now.

Applegarth Farm

Grayshott, East Hampshire, 30-45£
03/01/2019: This restaurant offers a good breakfast menu, from the traditional English breakfast to delicious croissants and jam and bacon sandwich. Service was quick and efficient and we will definitely return.
02/01/2019: Part of a country market type shop - this is a busy restaurant with rather good food. It is not cheap but the quality is good and the service good. They will provide doggy bags if the portions are to big for you. We had the pheasant starter which was tasty and the fishcakes which are a signature dish of a former chef (who died in an RTA). One of the nicest fishcakes with sauce I’ve tasted!

The Yew Tree

Four Marks and Medstead, East Hampshire
11/12/2018: The food served by this pub is fantastic; every course was delicious! It's hidden away but so worth the find. We were a family of 6 adults and 2 small children (visiting after a trip to see Santa on the Watercress Line steam train) and the staff couldn't have been more welcoming. Pork Belly served with a toffee apple sauce was cooked to perfection and the star of the meal. We will definitely return....I could have sat by the log fire all afternoon. The prices are also very reasonable, particularly given the quality of the food and standard of cooking.
11/12/2018: Lovely lunch time meal Damian and Elle was so attentive to our needs looking forward to returning, would highly recommend a visit to the yew tree

The Village Tea Rooms

Headley, East Hampshire
15/11/2018: Went for a walk on Headley Heath then stopped here for tea and cake - couldn’t have been made to feel more welcome and the homemade cakes were delicious! They had a wide range on their menu and also had gluten free options for any coeliacs. Would definitely recommend and will return!
09/11/2018: I went to the tea rooms at the Headley Village Stores. I was served by Glen who could not have been more friendly and attentive. My full English was definitely the best I had ever had!

Malabon Tandoori Restaurant

Petersfield Heath, East Hampshire, >100£
07/11/2018: Why do we always find great Indians that are miles away from home in Scotland!
07/11/2018: I’ve been going to these guys for a couple of years and it’s always been outstanding, I’ve travelled the world and had various versions of Indian food and Malabon is one of the best. This evening they excelled themselves, fantastic. 22

Royal Oak

Holybourne and Froyle, East Hampshire
30/11/2018: Disappointed with food, not much choice, and no atmosphere.would not visit again, not good value for money.
08/11/2018: Lovely pub off the beaten track. Well cared for and nice decor. The three of us settled for a light lunch deal, me with cauliflower starter, the other two for main and dessert. My cauliflower was delicious and as a non-dessert eater, I have to say their desserts looked delicious and plentiful. All in all made to feel very welcome and a lovely halfway visiting point between friends that we will certainly use again.

Gurkha Chautari Nepalese Restaurant

Bramshott and Liphook, East Hampshire
13/12/2018: We used them to cater for over 50 people at a Curry & Quiz night at our local village hall. Absolutely excellent food, well worth the money
27/11/2018: The food is absolutely gorgeous. We ordered the Chautari curry to be adventurous and a Korma to be safe. Both were amazing. Hands down the nicest korma I’ve ever had. The girl serving us was really attentive and a pleasure to deal with. I highly recommend Gurkha Chautari.

06/11/2018: Stopped off on a cycle a ride through North Hampshire for a break. Turned out to be a perfect rest stop.
06/11/2018: For a small place they do a great menu. I hope they bring back their French onion soup with a large crouton of bubbling cheese floating on top of a mass of onions. Yummy !!!

Ye Olde George Inn

East Meon, East Hampshire
13/11/2018: We visited this lovely old pub twice, once for lunch and once for dinner, both times with our two dogs in tow. Made very welcome and the food is top notch. You eat in the spacious bar area if you have dogs or there is a restaurant area if you are without your canine companions. There is a both bar food and a full dinner menu to choose from. Would recommend the pork belly!
11/11/2018: Four of us dropped into the pub just after 2pm one Monday after a strenuous walk over the nearby hills above the Meon Valley. We were pleasantly greeted on arrival, the kitchen was still serving food and we enjoyed four excellent dishes.

Bottega Dei Sapori

Alton Westbrooke, East Hampshire, >100£
11/10/2018: Have been coming to Bottega for over 10 years on day trips and now that I live in the town I can come in most days for excellent coffee, pastries & meals. The place is spotless, the staff beautifully warm and friendly. You leave feeling that the day is better for having gone there. Bottega also feels central to the town's community and it's clearly used as a meeting place for a lot of people. The garden is a lovely addition if you like to eat outside. Thank you Bottega
02/10/2018: A wonderful afternoon spent having lunch with my Mum at this little gem in Alton! My gnocchi was perfect and the coffee was too.
