03/06/2018: Had a good meal here on the 2nd.There is plenty to choose from, which includes daily specials.
05/05/2018: Well done the staff at the Sussex Brewery. We had a group of 21 and they rolled out some very good food. The food was nice and hot and well prepared. Very nice atmosphere at this Pub.

The Deck

19/06/2018: i visited the deck over the May bank holiday, on the sunday. it wasn't busy when we arrived, and majority of people sat downstairs were being served by the takeaway station. it was extremely hot indoors and we didnt notice a single fan or AC unit so asked to sit outside on the terrace. there was no shade, and in an attempt to put an umbrella up we were told it had broken in the storms and they hadn't repaired it yet (it had been more than long enough to repair an umbrella). when we went to move to the one table under another umbrella we were told it was reserved- turned out the 6 seater table had been reserved by just two!! people who had been sitting inside and i guess they fancied a change of scenery?
18/06/2018: Great relaxed place. Nice fresh food. Throughly recommend. Lovely outdoor tables, there was music when we were there. Very chilled.

19/06/2018: I was treated to a belated fathers day meal by my son's last night, I had the deep fried seafood platter and my son's both selected a different burger from their menu. Clean plates all round apart from a few chips and that is only because we were all stuffed. I will be back.
19/06/2018: We have visited The Travelers Joy on a few occasions over the last year.

18/06/2018: This place really has had a new breath of life. The turn around has been amazing, and I think the new owners are working hard to make it perfect for the people that come in. I love the fact that they now 'hide' veg and healthy things in the kids meals, which as a parent is a Godsend. They all work very hard and manage a business and a family which is no mean feat. Please support them and go and take a look. Good food, good beer and lovely staff.
30/04/2018: Visited recently for the second time. Pub pretty empty, landlady very welcoming, but had to wait an hour for a cottage pie, and a salad. Cottage pie poor, tasteless and full of carrots. I don't understand the obsession that most pubs have with carrots! The broccoli was yellow and should have been in the bin not on my plate. Shame as previous meal was good. Lot of work to be done still, as the competition is high in this area.

29/11/2016: The staff were very courteous and friendly. I liked the fish tank and my friend enjoyed his chicken dish with rice. I liked the chips and crab and sweetcorn soup. The orange juice wasn't orange but pineapple and my friend enjoyed his coke vodka.
23/08/2016: Excellent food and service - never fails to deliver! Highly recommended and the best Chinese restaurant in the area.

Tea was great ..coffee smelt delicious ...and the loveliest of ladies ran it!
Wonderful experience especially given the lousy service of Boo Hiss Southern Rail! Delays not nearly so bad because of Cupcake Carriages. Thank you!

14/07/2017: Had a meal from here and it was an average chinese taste. Nothing sang out to us but it was ok. Had to wait longer than our normal 10 mins at home we dont know why as we were the only ones in there.
