Wendover, Aylesbury Vale
19/08/2018: Cant tell you how good this place was - really good food, tasty and not at all greasy. The waiter persuaded my daughter to try the passander against her better judgement and it is now her favourite dish - finished off for breakfast this morning! Another waiter not only picked my jumper off the floor but turned it the right way round, folded it and put in back on my chair - having offered to hang it up - I know a strange thing to review, but it summed up the whole experience. Absolutely 5 stars
17/08/2018: Excellent food, amazing service, comfy chairs, best beard I’ve ever seen. Fantastic family dinner. We will definitely be returning to this fantastic establishment 😊

The Old Thatched Inn

Winslow, Aylesbury Vale
17/04/2019: I’ve been fortunate enough to eat high end steaks all over the world, including the world renowned Kobe Beef steaks of Japan. Last night, I had a perfectly cooked Herefordshire ribeye steak that was on par with steaks I’ve paid more than 5x for. Simply amazing. The food was great, the atmosphere was wonderful and the staff were attentive without being over bearing.
07/04/2019: We live in Cambridgeshire, or friends in the Cotswolds and we wanted a half way point to meet for lunch so we chose the Old Thatched Inn at Adstock. Their "fixed price" menu was limited, but for around £15 a head for 2 courses, we were happy. My salmon fillet on risotto was delicious and my husbands pork loin looked delicious. We ordered extra veggies, and a dish of chips which, for £3.50 each was a reasonable portion. One nice touch was a carafe of water given without asking for it. The puddings were generous too and my panacotta with blackberries poached in port was just heavenly, I wanted to lick the bowl! The Inn itself is in the heart o the village and its worth just a little walk round the corner to look at the church and the lovely old houses surrounding it. The staff were accommodating and our lively Italian waitress made the whole experience enjoyable.

The Seven Stars

Haddenham, Aylesbury Vale
15/04/2019: We wanted a good local venue to celebrate our son's 51st birthday and this was our natural choice as there is a good menu and he loves his beer and a large juicy steak.
11/04/2019: We enjoyed our meal here very much, the food is very good but I think something really has to be said about the outstanding staff. The restaurant was full when we went (in the week) and there was food also being served in the bar area, there were only two young people working both the restaurant taking orders and serving food and in the bar, they worked really hard all evening and were so pleasant. An enjoyable evening made even more so by the staff

Canaletto Italian Restaurant and Public House

Quarrendon, Aylesbury Vale, 45-60£
13/04/2019: My husband and I visited Canaletto’s with friends, one of whom is vegetarian. The menu was varied and authentic. The dessert trolley did not disappoint. We loved it and will definitely go again.
31/03/2019: 5 of us celebrated my mums birthday at lunch time. We have eaten at Canaletto's many times over the years and this visit was as good as ever. Warm welcome and fun waitors who engaged with my elderly parents beautifully. Food was lovely, calamari, white bait & caprese to start, calfs liver, chicken and veal for mains and choice of puds from the trolley. Lovely bottle of prosecco & Italian Rose. Fab meal, lovely staff and comfortable surroundings what more can you want. Will defiantly be back.

La Chouette

Haddenham, Aylesbury Vale, >100£
13/04/2019: From the little soup amuse bouche on arrival to the the deliciously strong coffee at the end of the meal, there was not one part of the evening that was not absolutely perfect.
15/02/2019: If you want brilliantly cooked food, now a bit more expensive than it was, in a cosy off the beaten track village where you think you are lost before you come upon the restaurant, the give away are the cars or the owners van with Belgian number plates still then you won't be disappointed. The restaurant serves good hearty clever food, based on Belgian and dare I say it, French staples, great taste, great portions and served by someone who's ethos is serving the customer, although he doesn't suffer fools gladly, and many of the village apparently don't make the grade to enter his domain. Friendly, perfect for that special meal, with great wines pairing the food, go, don't miss! Just not on the days I want to go

Bee's Kitchen

Buckingham North, Aylesbury Vale
23/03/2019: Fantastic people, huge delicious breakfast. This is the place to come for breakfast in Buckingham! Love this place.
19/03/2019: If you have a large appetite then this is the place for a full English breakfast, all cooked fresh to order. Debbie the owner is the best.

Aston Clinton, Aylesbury Vale
17/04/2019: We live in the village and eat out at the Mela approximately every 6 weeks. Last night, Tuesday we had a great meal from the poppadoms through to a vegetable dansak. The service was very efficient, friendly but not intrusive. Thank you.
14/04/2019: We went to this rest as we had some gift vouchers. My sister bought them for us and lives 35 miles away she had spoken to Ash and he offered to meet her halfway to collect them as was near to xmas time so she had them for xmas day.

The Five Elms

Weedon, Aylesbury Vale
14/02/2019: Had lunch here a few days ago and was pleasantly surprised.
17/01/2019: This is an excellent choice if you are looking for a good restaurant close to Aylesbury but out in the countryside. The staff are friendly and helpful and the ambiance is warm and cosy. The menu is good and the landlord is the chef.

Crendon Indian Cuisine

Long Crendon, Aylesbury Vale
17/04/2019: Menu packed with delicious dishes, some of them quite unusual. Started off with the spiced crab puri, then a venison curry and rice. Although it was fairly busy, the staff were very attentive. Would certainly visit again.
13/04/2019: I rarely write a review but feel compelled to after over 17 years of visiting this incredible restaurant. I have travelled widely- experiencing the culinary delights of many countries- including south east Asia. Yet, I remain drawn back to this restaurant over and over again. Why? Well, my suggestion would be to visit and see for yourselves. The food is a treat and the staff are a delight- they never disappoint.

Rose & Crown

Aylesbury Central, Aylesbury Vale
11/04/2019: Just arrived home after having a really nice lunch at the Rose & Crown. Their 'Lighter Menu' is great value for money at £10 for two courses. And the choices of mains are simply smaller versions of the normal mains menu - and the portion size was plenty for me (a lady of slightly advanced years). It was good to be able to finish the meal without any wastage. And to be just nicely full. The steak and mushroom pie was very nice with plenty of tender meat, and the selection of fresh vegetables was also good. I finished the meal with the sticky toffee pudding which came with lots of custard and butterscotch sauce. My friend and I definitely recommend this pub.
31/03/2019: We decided to try this pub because of the reviews also because my Mum, sister and her partner are not keen on foreign food and I am glad we did. On arrival we were given a warm friendly welcome and shown to our table the menu was mainly british fare and everything that was ordered was very tasteful not one complaint from our table. 2 starters, 5 mains, 2 desserts, 3.5 pints of lager and 3 soft drinks came to just over £20 per head. A very reasonable price. I could go on about the different meals that we all ate but go and try the food for yourselves, portions are large which is why I chose this title but very delicious. A lovely pub in a lovely village setting and we will definitely be returning very soon.

Looby Lu's Tearoom

Buckingham North, Aylesbury Vale
18/04/2019: What a beautiful Tearoom, lovely, polite and attentive staff. The afternoon tea was so filling and of a very high standard. The savory scones to start were amazing and everything that followed tasted delicious. Would highly recommend.
14/04/2019: Wonderful afternoon tea!! Sandwiches were really fresh and so tasty and cheese scone to start! Brilliant service and lovely atmosphere. ❤️

Nut Tree Inn

Marsh Gibbon, Aylesbury Vale
11/04/2019: I visited The Nut Tree Inn whilst staying in the local area for work. I had already booked a table for the next day, but due to a change in circumstances I telephoned through and was able to make a reservation for the night before. The Inn itself is a wonderful location & I imagine gets very busy at the weekends and summer months.
05/04/2019: We booked on line, added necessary notes... walked through the door and received a really warm welcome. Then showed to wonderful comfy chairs with delicious salt and sweet popcorn and the drinks we ordered. Once ready we were brought through to our table and the experience was wonderful. We had opted for the taster meal.. 8 courses, amazing flavours and combinations. The team were very aware and supportive of allergen needs and created items especially.

The Pointer

Brill, Aylesbury Vale, 45-60£
01/04/2019: As a diet controlled diabetic I get all sorts of responses to requests to leave the carbs off dishes. The Pointer passed this test with flying colours. The waiting staff knew what was in the dishes and was happy to leave anything off the dish if necessary but it wasn't... there were perfect menu choices that were already low carb.
30/03/2019: The good, the bad and the ugly. Firstly the good. We have been eating at this restaurant for years and the food and service is top notch. However, meal today for five adults with champagne was not great hence the bad. Asked for wine menu which was given but no one returned to take the order. No staff in sight for fifteen mins then had to chase. The staff all seen nervous what is happening! The starters menu very limited. The beef to share at £60 lacked flavour. Has the imagination left as deserts too were nothing to write home about! So sad I’ll have to find a new place to eat.

Tilly's Aylesbury

Aylesbury Central, Aylesbury Vale
30/03/2019: I took my mother here today for a mother’s day treat. Really lovely friendly staff. Beautiful tea rooms. However for me it was the choice of gluten-free cakes that made it such a great visit. Usually a gluten free brownie is all that’s on offer at other places. Here I had a choice!!! How refreshing and very much appreciated. Will definitely be back.
23/01/2019: Depending who we are with we have been to Costa coffee (very nice) or M&S; Café (not so nice) but now we have discovered Tillys no other place will do. What a lovely place homemade cakes and scones great ambience, clean and quaint, great to see the tables cleaned and cleared straight away, a big plus. Plenty of room upstairs, with a room with settees very comfortable, and very reasonable. Thank you to the two ladies, well done A GEM..

Mandeville and Elm Farm, Aylesbury Vale
04/01/2019: Plaiced a large order for cod and chips and a vegeburger. They delivered to the spinal unit at the hospital, which was very kind. Great value at around £6 per person. Chips were perfect. Well cooked, chunky and not greasy. Reviews were excellent from everyone. Will use again and again!
09/12/2018: I asked kyle if they could cater for a large group of people. He gave me a good quote and kept me up to date with everything. He allowed me to cancel some numbers at the last minute.
