The Old Thatched Inn

Winslow, Aylesbury Vale
24/12/2018: Nice place, terrific atmosphere, great service and excellent food which arrived promptly. I've nothing but good things to say about the visit.
16/12/2018: It was a cold december evening but as soon as we walked into this beautiful warm gastro pub with an open fire that cold feeling soon disappeared...We were greeted with a smiley happy waitress who took our coats and showed us to our table...We were showed the wine list which contained a wide range of what was on offer , very impressive...Then the Xmas dinner menu and an alternative menu , WOW ...Nothing prepared us for what we were about to receive food wise....I’m being absolutely honest here , I have never tasted food that good before , believe me...Everything was cooked to the highest standard and tasted Amazing...The service was second to none they couldn’t do enough for us..Each portion was just the right quantity not to much not to little , perfect...I can’t speak more highly about this place , the proof is in the pudding ...I thoroughly recommend the gorgeous pub

La Chouette

Haddenham, Aylesbury Vale, >100£
19/12/2018: My boyfriend brought me here for my 21st birthday based on recommendations. It certainly didn’t disappoint. We were the only customers when we arrived and had a lovely conversation with the owner/chef/server/barman, as he gave us food and wine recommendations. We went with one of the set menus and each course was better than the last.
22/11/2018: This will be a very short review because previous five star reviews have used up all the praise worthy adjectives. So I will simply say WOW.Food ,presentation, cooking, cosy setting, wine list,host/owner/chef are brilliant We cannot believe we did not know about this restaurant until recently. What more can I say ? .We will return.

The Raj

Wendover, Aylesbury Vale
30/12/2018: Consistently the best authentic Indian restaurant in the area: family run and excellent service- the food is amazing, I’ve never had a bad meal and have been going there for over 20 years!

The Seven Stars

Haddenham, Aylesbury Vale
29/12/2018: My family always visit The Seven Star at Dinton for a family gathering meal. All the staff are super friendly and helpful, food always presented well and tastes amazing. I’m vegan and my sister is veggie and they always go out of their way to make us our own meals. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a welcoming and good value for money restaurant.
28/12/2018: We visited here for Boxing Day lunch. We were a party of 8 plus a toddler. Food was amazing we all had 3 courses which we chose from the normal Menu there was nothing left on our plates. Staff were lovely very accommodating

The Five Elms

Weedon, Aylesbury Vale
29/12/2018: With a few friends we planned lunch before visiting Waddesdon Manor. Following a search on the internet we found what sounded to be the perfect place for lunch. We were not disappointed. We received a warm welcome from the Landlady and found a good selection of food options on the menu. Food allergies were dealt with in a knowing and professional manner. The food was served piping hot and everyone in the group thoroughly enjoyed a delicious lunch and the pub in general. It's nice to see and enjoy a small unspoilt piece of our Green and Pleasant Land.
18/12/2018: You need a reservation, they were so kind to work us in as we came all the way from Virginia and was a Weedon. Love it there. If I lived in thearea would go back every week. You won't be disappointed. .

The Works

Aylesbury Central, Aylesbury Vale
28/12/2018: I come here with my friends for brunch. The food is lovely and freshly prepared. If you have room after then definitely stop for some ice cream (also available to take away).
28/12/2018: I have visited the works on many an occasion for food in the restaurant and they have never failed to come up trumps, with great service and great food you won't find anywhere else and all at very reasonable prices. It is a great place for family or just friends to visit, and my children love it.

Tilly's Aylesbury

Aylesbury Central, Aylesbury Vale
21/12/2018: I took my two children (6 and 3) for a Christmas treat to this little cafe. The owner was very patient whilst my children decided between the different cakes on offer, and kindly provided us with an extra plate and some extra biscuits.
08/11/2018: Me and my wife needed a cup of tea whilst in Aylesbury and came across this charming little cafe which was crammed full of Tea Pots. We both had a sandwich and we ordered a pt of tea for two. The tea came in a large Tea Pot and at the cost of £3.00 I have paid more for a cup served in plastic in other places.

The Pilgrim

Quainton, Aylesbury Vale, 20-30£
16/12/2018: Very nice welcoming village pub nice ale and red wine to start and followed by a great Sunday lunch unlike lots of pubs this had a small menu and very well done,
01/12/2018: We enjoyed an excellent family lunch at the award winning Pilgrim. The bar offers traditional ales with seating around a roaring log fire. The restaurant area is small, however the quality and presentation of the food was very good and exceeded expectations. Staff were exceptionally welcoming, friendly and attentive, with nothing being too much trouble. Highly recommended.

The Pointer

Brill, Aylesbury Vale, 45-60£
31/12/2018: We like the Pointer a lot and come here quite frequently. We had dinner with friends between Christmas and New Year and, whilst I'm sure the staff were tired after the Christmas festivities, we were still paying the same - substantial - prices. Our waiter, dressed in jeans and a crumpled shirt, had to be called over to our table every time, for water, for a wine list, to order our food, to pay the bill. He seemed far more interested in talking to the kitchen staff than paying attention to the paying customers. The food at the Pointer is consistently excellent, the service not so much.
26/12/2018: Very nice decor, well prepared food and good staff and service. Bread is particularly nice. Good for group or family occasion

Nut Tree Inn

Marsh Gibbon, Aylesbury Vale
29/12/2018: This amazing establishment takes it to another level, the standards are set, maintained and delivered on every visit. Everyone is so switched on in making sure you have a memorable dinning experience, the food is exceptional the service impeccable, for that little bit extra you really do get a whole lot more. Just go and enjoy.
22/12/2018: What do I mean.? Well a michilin star suggests a level of service and food.. Everything was exactly as I'd expect I sort of want to rate it as average because its amazing but its expensive.. But to not 5* a place like this for price is an insult to the owner. Its expensive but its amazing.. If you are average Joe visit for a special occasion (don't order wine to keep the cost down).. If you have not visited michilin * before check the menu prices and visit some!
