Canaletto Italian Restaurant and Public House

Quarrendon, Aylesbury Vale, 45-60£
07/08/2018: If you like Italian food and don't want overpriced food then this is a good place to go.
07/08/2018: We’ve always liked this restaurant (and related precursors) but were especially impressed on our most recent visit. It was the day after the fifth anniversary of Canaletto’s opening and, although not busy, there was an excellent atmosphere.

The Raj

Wendover, Aylesbury Vale
31/08/2018: A group of 9 of us visited here for a get together meal and from the start felt very well accommodated for. Friendly, knowledgable and entertaining staff ensured that we had the best dining experience possible. This was the perfect addition to our meal, which included guests that were vegetarian, vegan and gluten free (who were all catered for) and all enjoyed their food. An excellent curry house with a great atmosphere and a very reasonable price. Would definitely recommend!
27/08/2018: We booked this restaurant as a surprise for my friends 40th.

The Rose and Crown

Pitstone, Aylesbury Vale
18/08/2018: Stayed in the area for a few days and enjoyed a nice walk across the fields to this pub . Friendly staff ( and locals ) great food ( we had the fish and chips) will definitely recommend this pub for beers & food
17/08/2018: What a gem of a pub. Quaint and cosy, friendly staff, great service, value for money and excellent food. We will definitely be back!

La Chouette

Haddenham, Aylesbury Vale, >100£
14/08/2018: The restaurant was nearly empty as it was a Monday night, but it didn't matter as Frederic made us so welcome and was very chatty. The building is just beautiful and the food and wine of a high standard. Everything about the place is friendly and personal: cooking, service and conversation.
12/08/2018: Amazing food, brilliant atmosphere and excellent service. Frederic is a great host. The filet of beef was perfect and you must try the chocolate soufflé

Rose & Crown

Aylesbury Central, Aylesbury Vale
30/07/2018: Just been here after visiting the alpaca farm and stopped for a delicious Sunday lunch. Had to check prior to turning up as a member of our party is gluten free and they were so accommodating. Would definitely recommend.
25/07/2018: Went last Saturday for a family meal, the food was great with a fantastic pint. well done team Rose & Crown. Will be back soon

The Old Thatched Inn

Winslow, Aylesbury Vale

12/08/2018: The setting of this pub is very nice with lovely flowers outside. The staff are very friendly and attentive.

Looby Lu's Tearoom

Buckingham North, Aylesbury Vale
28/08/2018: Went here with a friend and really enjoyed the food. Although busy, service was perfect and very welcoming and the waitress wS really hepful.
27/08/2018: I visited for lunch with a friend and could not get over the size of the sandwich! It was huge, plus side salad with tasty dressing and crisps! Filling right to the edge of the sandwich which does not always happen! Very nice place to lunch and dog friendly next time I’m around with my pup I shall go in!

The Five Elms

Weedon, Aylesbury Vale
15/08/2018: We visited today with family, including our 18 month old great niece and had a terrific meal in a very beautiful pub. The pate was excellent, the pork belly was delicious and my husband said the steak and kidney pudding was perfect. My filo pastry brie and spinach parcel was super too. Our hosts were welcoming, accommodating and really engaging with our little one.
02/08/2018: We had a meal here last night. Lovely food and a lovely warm welcome. Well worth the visit. I had the Chicken with Chorizo and mozzarella, salad and new potatoes, delicious.

The Pointer

Brill, Aylesbury Vale, 45-60£
28/08/2018: As befits the best of gastropubs The Pointer perfectly straddles that fine line between local boozer and high end restaurant. While the beams in the bar area are a constant threat for anyone above average height, such original features bring an authentic charm to this fantastic place. The prominently displayed gin and tonic offering may be more city wine bar than salt of the earth local but you feel that farm hands, the local squire or even minor royalty could mix easily in the delightful environs. The menu is all you could hope for with the locally sourced beef a particular treat. In short it ticks all the boxes it should, I highly recommend it.
27/08/2018: This is a truly superb gastro pub in the very pretty little country village of Brill.

Nut Tree Inn

Marsh Gibbon, Aylesbury Vale
28/08/2018: On holiday from Australia so we always try to visit quality establishments on our visits. Booked for lunch on a Tuesday as we travel the country. Welcome and service was second to none. staff very knowledgeable and friendly. Beef and Venison were standouts.would love to have stayed longer or perhaps return before our departure back to OZ. Would have been 5 stars, unfortunately the cheese was a little sweaty.
27/08/2018: Food is really good but service is certainly not, plates cleared immediately whilst still digesting the last mouthful, wine glasses whipped away when not even empty Far far better going to vanilla pod at Marlow or artichoke at Amersham

The Seven Stars

Haddenham, Aylesbury Vale
28/08/2018: I’ve been here twice recently. This is a community run pub. There’s a good choice of food tho perhaps a second main veggie option on the menu wouldn’t go amiss for the menu size. I had the same dish both times. There are several meat and fish options. First time I had desert the brownie is utterly delicious. Second time I went, I had the onion soup to start. Also very good. The staff are friendly and efficient. It was busy both times I went but the wait wasn’t overlong. When the weather is good enough you can also sit outside in the front garden to eat/drink. Worth a visit.
19/08/2018: Don’t live near here It doesn’t matter Been popping in here infrequently for more than 30 years Its a brilliant bar Good food Really good value Always wonderful staff

Quainton, Aylesbury Vale, 20-30£

14/04/2018: The braised beef sheen was about perfect. The service was exceptional. And their wine choice amazing. We got a Portuguese wine from Alentejo that was prime cut. Will come back for sure.

The Stag Inn

Wingrave, Aylesbury Vale, 20-30£
14/08/2018: Having been her a while back thought it about time to return, this time meeting family for lunch. There were 6 of us and as we were early we made use of the fabulous garden for drinks prior to our booking time. Lovely setting, although the hot weather had taken its toll the garden was still awash with a huge variety of flowers and shrubs.
12/08/2018: We met friends here for Sunday lunch before going on to visit Ascott National Trust

The Works

Aylesbury Central, Aylesbury Vale
29/08/2018: I was really impressed by what must be my third visit to this restaurant! I came in with my partner earlier last week for what is called brunch and was really satisfied with myself having 5 stack of Raspberry and White Choc pancakes and my other half had the Egg Royale
27/08/2018: What's not to like? Crepes, ice-cream et al etc... Great for the kids and all the family! Located in the centre of town. Some might say it's a bit pricey but it's an overall great day out for all the family

Red Chilli Gold

Buckingham North, Aylesbury Vale
17/08/2018: We went here as a group of three, for a catch up and some good Indian food. And that’s what we got, great choice of dishes on a big but not too big menu, tried a mix of dishes ranging from mild to very hot, all were very tasty , proper curry, not just meat in sauce. Well priced and very attentive staff, pleasantly surprised to get a complimentary drink on being presented the bill, gutted I was the designated driver! I’ll know better next time as I’m sure I’ll be visiting again soon
12/08/2018: Great food and excellent service from Raj. The timing of each course was perfect and the extra little complimentary touches made this a special evening for the four of us.
