Rami Tandoori And Balti House

St Stephen, St Albans
07/05/2019: To satiate a sudden urge for indian cuisine we stopped by this often driven past establishment, and enjoyed an acceptable evening. The food was above average, and staff and owner friendly and welcoming, though teh establishment commanded st alban prices being above average.
28/04/2019: My husband and I had dinner here last night. The food was first class as was the service. I would highly recommend it.

The Noke Restaurant

St Stephen, St Albans
18/05/2019: Stayed for one night. The room was right on the junction so traffic noice could have been an issue, but didn’t really bother us.
01/05/2019: Tried to book a party here, they had all our details in advance, did not flag up and concerns when armed with all our details. Happily excepted our contract and deposit.

Three Hammers

St Stephen, St Albans
05/06/2019: Looking for somewhere different to eat a late Sunday lunch, we were really glad that we stopped at the Three Hammers.
02/06/2019: The place has a big garden. Food was cold and everything was deep fried even my pigs in blankets which looked cremated. Gin was great mind.

The Viceroy

St Stephen, St Albans
11/05/2019: Down in St Albans for the weekend & came across this little gem. Tucked away but well worth the search for. Food was amazing, staff very polite & courteous. Could not fault a thing. Simply lovely 😊
31/03/2019: We came here as a party of 7 friends. I arrived a little earlier than my friends but was left on the table with no offer of a menu or a drink. The service was slow for us to order although we were so busy chatting we didn’t mind too much, I could see they were busy with takeaway orders.

T in the Woods

St Stephen, St Albans
09/01/2018: Firstly I think it needs to be clarified that this is an up and coming family run business that serves both cafe and tea room style food and drink regardless of people mis categorisation of it, since that is a irrelevant for those seeking one or the other.
27/09/2017: The location is great, local and plenty of parking, right by the woods should you want to walk it all off afterwards. However, the staff come across as unfriendly, surly and far too interested in their i-phones. A uniform wouldn't go amiss not to mention a bit of a clear up round the back. On the up-side the food is lovely, in particular the cooked breakfasts which come on hot plates and always freshly cooked to order. The cafe is also dog-friendly so perfect for walkers.

Bhaker House

St Stephen, St Albans
04/03/2018: First off, this place is closed most of the time, think its closing down, or may have closed down as been past several times now and always closed. Secondly this is like going into a tiny, tiny lounge in someone's house and the owner is not very friendly, well maybe we caught her on a bad day! It's so tiny, only holds about 6-8 people but she has a HUGE kitchen outback, which is crazy, as the restaurant only fits 6-8 people. Serves mostly Indian food, no cakes while we were there, which is what we wanted. Hasn't a clue about how to serve coffee or tea! I got my cappuccino in a teacup and my friend got her tea in a cappuccino cup! Nicely done out inside, but sadly not a place you'd want to go back to, the owner makes you feel awkward. Just a weird place as you are forced to chat to everyone there just because it's so tiny, not a place to go to if you want a quiet coffee with a friend.

Flame Light

St Stephen, St Albans
27/01/2019: We used to go to Cheongs on Vesta ave but since it changed management the other year it’s not been as good for Chinese (still fab for fish & chips though next door). So we tried Flamelight on the advice of a friend in Chiswell Green and it was very nice! Much nicer than Cheongs. We picked up within 15 mins (Sunday early evening). They take cards too. Not greasy. Tender chicken. Great taste. We’ll definitely choose them again for our next takeaway.
01/07/2018: I cannot fault the food in this establishment having had a variety of dishes over time. Duck dishes are especially good.

St Stephen, St Albans
16/06/2019: I have used the Mayflower for quite a number of years now, I can’t understand why there are so many negative reviews? Ok some times you do have to wait a bit for your order but the food is fresh and always good.
20/03/2019: I had crispy chicken with salt and chill which seemed like it had been undercooked and extremely dry with scraps of garlic and chilli, buried below the chicken as if it wasn’t cooked with and was mint supposed to be to help add some flavour. I then went into the sweet and sour chicken balls which were like tiny snooker balls (most Chinese takeaways have chunks of chicken)with a dull tasting sauce

The Nectar House Cafe

St Stephen, St Albans
