The Buxhall Crown

Onehouse, Mid Suffolk, 20-30£
30/03/2019: We came to the Buxhall Crown Inn following my brother's recommendation and we had a lovely meal out all 6 of us with no complaints. Staff were very friendly and welcoming! The service was very timely and the food was very good quality. The owners cater to a wide range of dietary requirements making it very easy to eat there as a group.
20/03/2019: The infinite care and invention of the dishes here are unbelievable. The landlord and all his staff are most welcoming and efficient at all times.

The Bull at The Auberge

Palgrave, Mid Suffolk, 20-30£
21/03/2019: There is good parking here, and rooms available if you really over indulge. I have found the food here to be consistently excellent. This is a family run business, and their passion for hospitality is clearly evident.
20/03/2019: Great People, Great Service, Food and Accommodation Excellent; we arrived at 9-30pm and went striaght ot the Dining Room after having phoned ot say we would be late. The Chef and his staff stayed on to provide us with superb food and good wines at reasonable prices.

Fox and Goose

Fressingfield, Mid Suffolk, 45-60£
20/03/2019: A great evening , relaxed, professional and great food, great service from staff that new the items on the menu
09/03/2019: The tasting menu here was an absolute delight with items which, had I seen them on a menu I would probably not have ordered but Wow!

The Four Horseshoes

Gislingham, Mid Suffolk
19/04/2019: Reserved a table for 6 for Suday lunch, we was put on a table that was obviously a table for 4 people not 6, the table was not laid, with cutlery in a pot at the end of the table.
18/04/2019: On our first visit we had intended to go to the Coach House in Thornham Woods but it was closed and we happened on The Four Horseshoes. What a find! Attractive from the outside the interior is deceptively roomy going back a long way though one or two tables could be a bit dark. There is an extensive and reasonably priced menu and it is encouraging that their main suppliers are mentioned by name. We have now eaten here three or four times and have always been completely satisfied. Portions are generous and well presented and we have only managed deserts once! Service is attentive without being in the least pushy. We will certainly return, especially at lunchtime. The ramp to the door is especially welcome for those with wheelchairs or other mobility problems, not always the case with buildings of this age.

The Brewers Arms Rattlesden

Rattlesden, Mid Suffolk, <20£
13/04/2019: Had lunch the other day and the whole thing was just fab. Lobster tail done in a great new way was top notch. A must go to for quality all round.

The Deli & Cafe at the Chilli Farm

Mendlesham, Mid Suffolk, <20£
03/04/2019: Visited this place again this morning. Had the most wonderful freshly cooked full English breakfast and coffee. All ingredients were superb and cooked wonderfully well. Just a perfect way to start the day.
02/04/2019: The service was incredibly slow because it was so understaffed. Staff there were pleasant and worked hard but could not keep up with demand. Food was okay. Menu limited.

Waterfront Cafe

Bramford and Blakenham, Mid Suffolk
17/03/2019: Clean and tidy restaurant. Excellent and friendly staff but most of all one of the best fry ups I've had in a very long time. Good quality sausage. Non greasy fried bread. Perfect eggs. A real treat on a hungover Sunday. Well done.
23/02/2019: Recently had occasion to visit Waterfront Diner for 3 morning breakfast around 0845 hrs to 0915hrs each day.

The White Horse Inn

Wetheringsett, Mid Suffolk
14/04/2019: This is the second time we have stayed at The White Horse inn, four of us arrived Sunday afternoon and went to our rooms that were on the ground floor and very comfortable they are, in the evening we had a very good dinner with our cousins who had came to join us and then 4 of us relaxed with a glass of wine.

Thornham Coach House

Gislingham, Mid Suffolk
19/04/2019: Character is the theme here rather than size. A perfect setting for a small function. Family run and adaptable to your needs. We have been both for lunch when wanting a walk on the estate and also on special evenings such as the popular murder mysteries.

The Kings Arms Haughley

Haughley and Wetherden, Mid Suffolk
14/04/2019: Enthusiastic friendly staff and great quality food. Evening menu could have done with a couple of simpler dishes for more conservative diners and I found the desserts a little too pretentious for my liking. Highly recommended though if you enjoy really good food.
10/04/2019: Amazing food, brilliant drinks choice of drinks great gins, guest ales & lovely wine recommendation. Attentive, friendly but not overwhelming or irritating service, just perfect! One of our firm favourites for and evening especially but also for a Sunday roast.

The Cross Keys

Rickinghall and Walsham, Mid Suffolk
14/04/2019: We had a great experience at the Cross Keys for Sunday lunch. The roasts and desserts were excellent, the volunteer staff were very friendly and helpful and went out of the way to accommodate our eleven year old son’s food requests. There was an interesting and reasonably priced range of local beers. This community pub and its dedicated team deserve success - do visit and support.
14/04/2019: Delicious Sunday lunch in a traditional, country pub setting. Brilliantly catered for my gluten free requirements. Thank you!!

The Fox and Hounds

Thurston and Hessett, Mid Suffolk
08/04/2019: This pub is a reasonable option for a plateful of good plain food, though nothing we ate was anything special. There is a good selection of ales and the pub has a good atmosphere.
08/04/2019: We stayed in he village over the weekend, spotted this pub, had a couple of drinks and some food it was very busy - was lovely food and you got loads !!

The Bull public house

Bacton and Old Newton, Mid Suffolk, 20-30£
24/03/2019: We visited the area for a long weekend with our dog Lola. I’d emailed ahead so as to see if the Bull could accommodate us for my partner’s birthday, with Lola in tow. As soon as we walked in we were made to feel welcome. The menu had a wide variety, all very reasonably priced and great portion sizes too. Some village pubs are very cliquey, but here the locals didn’t make you feel uncomfortable at all, and everyone was so friendly. Overall, a very clean, tidy, cosy pub with excellent food and prices. Would certainly recommend the Bull. Thank you for a lovely evening
23/01/2019: First started to visit the pub when we moved to the area. After they changed the menu the first time (since we started visiting) we lost interest as the menu moved in a direction we didn't really enjoy. Since then, it seems the menu has changed once again towards posh nosh which really doesn't float our boats. It's a pub, not a michelin star restaurant and we liked the homely feel and honest pub grub so we're a bit disappointed it's gone that way and won't be visiting again any time soon.
