The Buxhall Crown

Onehouse, Mid Suffolk, 20-30£
11/08/2019: First visit...celebrating birthday with friends. Service was excellent. The food was delicious...excellent...We couldn't fault anything.Truly a "gem".. Definitely go back..
09/08/2019: Although we don’t live far away we haven’t visited this place before. We visited for a family lunch and found the place nice and friendly with attentive staff and comfortable surroundings. We sat inside but there is a lovely garden outside with comfortable seating there too.

The Bull at The Auberge

Palgrave, Mid Suffolk, 20-30£
11/08/2019: An excellent evening with superb food A party of 4 arrived for a birthday dinner and we received the usual warm welcome Delicious food with excellent service in a relaxed atmosphere The cheese souffle was unbelievable Highly recommended
07/08/2019: As usual the Auberge offers friendly service, with good reasonably priced food, and a good wine list

Fox and Goose

Fressingfield, Mid Suffolk, 45-60£
03/08/2019: A group of 6, we sat in the upstairs restaurant able to see the sun setting on the church, it was a lovely view. Excellent food and service. Absolutely could not be faulted. We worked our way through the menu, enjoying everything. The additional extra treats of a pea puree and an apricot gazpacho were very welcome. Very reasonably priced, and we were so inspired we worked our way through the drinks menu as well. Fabulous. We will be back very soon.
18/07/2019: Visited for lunch on 17 July Cannot fault the food and service. Only criticism is that it should be made clear that any specials cannot be included in the fixed price meal. If we had realised, then my wife would have chosen something else

Teacups Tea Rooms

Woolpit, Mid Suffolk
07/08/2019: We popped in on a recommendation before returning home. Staff were very friendly they pointed out what they did. We had a piece of homemade Tiffin cake and a pot of coffee. They were very nice. All the cakes they had on display looked good. There were savoury snacks also. Would highly recommend.
05/07/2019: Found this cafe in Woolpit by chance and what a lucky chance. The staff were very friendly and helpful, we had a ploughmans lunch which contained three types of cheese and lots of trimmings really good value for money. Will return to this hidden gem.

The White Horse Inn

Wetheringsett, Mid Suffolk
17/08/2019: Meal for 7 here, and we were very happy with everything. It is a lovely pub, with plenty of character. The food is excellent, well prepared and very tasty. It was busy as well which is always a good sign. We shall be going back soon.
07/08/2019: Decided to try this place on my way back south from Norwich. Surprised to find superb food from an extensive menu. Polite if slightly cool service. Late Saturday afternoon between lunch and evening dining time I expected dishes would be limited to microwaved food but no, all things were available. I asked for some changes to my advertised meal which were accommodated without problem. Reasonably priced. Clean airy restaurant in a number of small rooms. Plenty of car parking but leaving car park onto the main road can be difficult if not dangerous.

De La Pole Arms

Hoxne, Mid Suffolk, 20-30£
30/06/2019: Visited this excellent pub on the afternoon of a friend’s daughter’s wedding. As I was the DJ, I’d spent the morning setting up just down the road and as it happened the pub had been festooned with 100 plus of our wedding guests taking the opportunity of a quick sharpener before the ceremony, the church being directly opposite.
19/06/2019: Lovely picturesque pub, inside as lovely as outside. Decent sized portions, good choice of food on offer, well presented and delicious. Highly recommended

The Brewers Arms Rattlesden

Rattlesden, Mid Suffolk, <20£
06/08/2019: We booked that evening, and were welcomed by staff offering the bar for a drink or the table direct, good to have a choice . Loved eclectic seating, pose-free atmosphere and diners out to enjoy their evening and not sit there like lemons. What Michael Winner would have described as "historic" Fish & chips ( light tasty edible batter) paired with my Rib-eye Steak with Bearnaise sauce- worth the price tag for juiciness but I always order mine medium rare. Olive oil with bread a neat touch and our guy rightly recommended the Argentinian Malbec for my steak, Now that was a really classy glass, not the usual supermarket Buy two bottles get a headache.. Lovely evening and Brewers deserves every success.Worth a drive as what else like this is around in deepest Suffolk?
01/08/2019: one of the best meals we have had-good service from knowledgable staff and food cooked to perfection -can't wait to go back-would highly recommend

The Kings Arms Haughley

Haughley and Wetherden, Mid Suffolk
14/08/2019: Popped to the kings arms tonight to see and have a drink with friends with the wife and our babe. The staff were so friendly as were Lucy and grant the owners.
12/08/2019: Absolutely gorgeous Sunday roast! Roast beef was cooked perfectly and the cabbage in a light cheese sauce was AMAZING! The staff are wonderful and friendly! Would highly recommend the food!

The Dog, Norton

Elmswell and Norton, Mid Suffolk, 20-30£
16/08/2019: Stopped off for a spot of lunch and drink on way down to Ipswich. Only had a ham bagguet + a ploughman's, very tasty. Fairly busy for a midweek lunchtime, which to me always suggests a quality place. Very good, do give it a try if passing or you live locally.
15/08/2019: Visited here for breakfast this morning and it was delicious! Really friendly staff and we will definitely be returning soon!

The Shepherd and Dog

Onehouse, Mid Suffolk, <20£
12/08/2019: We are here at the weekend and ordered the Jalfrezi curry which was lovely. My daughter ordered a burger which was also very nice. Nice food with good service so we have discovered a little gem around the corner from my mum and dads so will be visiting again!
07/08/2019: Enjoyed a gamon steak with chips as well as a pint of beer sitting ourside in the glorious sunshine. A busy place to eat and yes we had to wait a little but that's fine. Made to feel welcome and enjoyed the whole atmosphere as we ran into a number of friends who were also out for lunch.

The Highwayman

The Stonhams, Mid Suffolk
10/08/2019: Very welcoming, lovely ambience, couldn't fault our meals - will difinitely be returning. The prices are very reasonable, meals were well presented - would recommend this restaurant.
20/07/2019: Having had a rotten day visiting parents in hospital, we were on our way home and decided to grab some dinner. This was a fab find. A beautiful pub/restaurant . Both of us had the steak. It was cooked to perfection. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back. Thanks Dave

Waterfront Cafe

Bramford and Blakenham, Mid Suffolk
17/08/2019: Unfortunately after all these years the waterfront cafe are now serving cheap supermarket style sausages instead of the proper butcher sausages they’ve always served. Going downhill fast. You can get food like this anywhere.
09/08/2019: The first thing a cafe has to have is a decent coffee! This was the worse coffee I have tasted this year ! Was just instant ! No Americarno coffee here ! So I bought some orange juice instead. Food was good but nothing special just your normal cafe food. There was a nice selection on menu. Nice location and Friendly staff. But would not go back as no real coffee!

The Deli & Cafe at the Chilli Farm

Mendlesham, Mid Suffolk, <20£
29/06/2019: I have visited the deli on numerous occasion over the last 12 months and since the new owners have taken it over the place has really gone down hill so much.many of the the things on the menu have been removed like the full English which now stops at 11am and no more soup either.I also dont agree with the way the new owner speaks to his staff he is very rude and arrogant as I heard him last week having a dig at one of the staff.shame the new owners are letting this place go down the pan and I can see it closing as it must be losing so many regular customers daily because of all the changes.
16/06/2019: We have been visiting the Deli for a number of years now and have always enjoyed the pleasant surroundings and the excellent food. Amongst other locally sourced offerings, they advertise a full English Breakfast on their menu which always goes down well with us, no matter what time of day we drop in. Our visit wouldn’t be complete without buying some of their fresh or bottled produce too. We would regularly spend in excess of £50 per visit.

The Four Horseshoes

Gislingham, Mid Suffolk
15/08/2019: Went with a group of walkers for a midweek lunch. Ordered our food before commencing our walk, on our return and after a leisurely drink, our food arrived exactly as ordered, and without exception was enjoyed by everyone. The staff were very friendly and professional.
12/08/2019: We took our friends there for Sunday lunch carvery, the choice of meat and quality was excellent + you get good portions,service/food and real ale (mauldons) Christies Golden.
